Ok, I'll try and do this while brushing your unicorn's mane and sipping love tea. >:( The fact that we have a "new organization" to promote peace, love, and happiness on a forum leads me to believe you just want to make this your play-pen where nothing goes wrong and there's no conflict. I'm not even sure you have any place to speak, considering you show up intermittently and whine about things. If you were a regularly visiting member, I'd pay you more heed, but since you aren't I have no sympathy to whining babies. Grow up. Life isn't all about sugar and rainbows. |

OK this has gone on long enough
Recently i have gone into a mountain cave of seclusion. It came to my vision that since LGN's deletion of the RP, i have become irrelevant to this site...Just as irrelevant as BB has become to the RP. So i went into solitary to think, not give a crap, and come up with some ideas. After this post i will make my way back up the mountain.
There are three things that this site (or any) doesn't need. Rules enforced by opinions, people not being expected to take personal responsibility for their opinions/actions, and one single member nestled deep in the goodness and issues of the site.
OHSHI.... we have all 3
Groups like this start off with good intentions and are generally nice. Tossing out words like "bring everyone together"... who DOESN'T want that. Then you either feel like you have to join because not doing so would imply that you don't want a sense of togetherness. And heaven forbid you speak out against it because now you have become some opposing force of evil because you apparently don't want what everyone who signed up for this thread want (regardless if everyone actually TRULY shares the opinions of the group...again going back to my "bring everyone together" thing) The inherent problem with this is that when groups like this gain more members, and gain more members, and gain more members... not only do the views of the organization start to get fuzzy, but the strength of the organization becomes an un-tamable lion out to destroy anyone who doesn't agree with the organization thus forcing someone (usually admin) to bring down the hand of God upon it.
And as i can see....this group is already headed in that direction given the massive amounts of anger and unhappiness in this single thread. I'm not yet using judgment... but my finger is on Arceus' attack button.
This site's problem is not with mature talk, it's not with dirtiness...I'm going to rain down a harsh reality that some of you don't want to hear. Our problem... is choice members and their actions. Now I'm not going to sit here like I'm some self-righteous savior...cause i know i have issues which is a portion of why i went into seclusion so that i can make sure i don't push them off on anyone on here (MSN is another story). People need to be held responsible for their actions and treated accordingly. I'm tired of someone calling another person out for their actions/retardation and someone claiming it's a personal attack. Opinions and actions are performed by individuals. Therefore the individual who did it should be held responsible and have the finger of blame pointed in his/her face. Just to name a few...
Surge needs to stop whining about everything and being arrogant.
Angel needs to stop being so selfish.
Sour needs to stop going off the deep end with insanely sexual talk...tone it down a bit
Bert needs to stop cursing on the c-box quite as much as he does..tone it down
Atrum needs to calm the F*** DOWN and find happier ways of disagreeing other than "F*** YOU THAT'S BULLSHIT!"
Star needs to stop finding problems with everything
SLE needs to quit interpreting every little comment at spam/flaming/trolling.
BB needs to quit going overboard when he gets upset
Dobs needs to grow the fro back...seriously..do it!
That's the reality of it. Call it "personal attacks" or any other self-righteous means you wish to cover your own ass but that's where it stands. People need to know their faults and be calmly told of them. And NOT be told about them when they are in open rage...you should know what open rage is. Wait till it's over then both settle down and talk things out like MATURE PEOPLE. Maturity doesn't mean "sex" it means not acting like little babies and freaking idiots. Will that get rid of the issues? NO but perhaps it can lessen the storms. Additional knowledge usually helps situations..for people willing to deal with their issues. People have issues, people have conflict. That's life. As a community you just get over it and move on with life.
Opinions... everyone has them....some people SHOULDN'T. Let's be honest, the whole "everyone has a right to an opinion" thing looks good on paper and makes people happy, but some people just need to keep theirs to themselves. Some people's opinions just freaking SUCK and are absolutely retarded. That's again just a fact of life. But it all comes down to how it sounds... so instead of saying some people's opinions suck I'm going to say.. there is no retarded opinion...only retarded people giving opinions. That being said. Our rules are based off a moderator's personal opinion on the situation. I put that up there because it was a quick fix but that was a load of TRASH. No rule should be set by a person's opinion. And here is why... EVERYTHING...regardless of how extreme or ludicrous it may seem can be logically explained as an opinion or otherwise.
Example
Member 1 - This dude sucks
Member 2 - LOL YES!
Mod 1 - that's a warning for flaming
Member 1 - it's my opinion
Mod 1 - well it's my opinion that it's flaming.
see... just plain crap. If both people are using opinions on the matter who is to say who's opinion is right? Is the mod's opinion ultimately right just because he's a mod? that SHOULDN'T be the case. There needs to be more structured rules, and less room for personal interpretation of that. Personal Interpretations of rules make for bad feelings and give the mod in question a bad reputation altogether.
And last but not least... the one thing that i'm walking on eggshells the most about. The last thing we have that we shouldn't. One member at the source of all the good and bad of the site. Of course, that means Angel. I love angel to death, and i don't want her to forget that. But she has (and i don't think intentionally), placed herself at the complete center of this site. Part of this is due to her ability to request what she wants and get it almost without question. Part of this is due to her pushiness of her opinion at times. I don't know. But in the end..she had become so intertwined in the dealings with this site, that most of us went lax because we knew she would just do whatever and we wouldn't have to worry. This sealed her in the center even more, so that now everything good, and everything bad with the site have been blamed on her. Her opinion has come to the point that it matters more than anyone else, and in cases like this... her opinion seems to carry weight as the opinion of the whole group. That is a problem with everyone and i feel part of the reason why she left staff. SHe shouldn't have ever been allowed to get in that position, nor should she have been put in the position that she is in. I value her opinion but we need to stop keeping her in the center of everything. Once we get away from an Angel-centered site... we can progress towards our future. That is not to say that i don't want angel around..NOOO i want angel around forever... i just don't want her to be in... nor be placed in...the dead center of EVERYTHING.
in the end there is no easy middle ground. People have conflicting opinions on everything even what is flaming and what is not. We need to examine our own opinions as well as those opinoins of others and come to a melting of the minds. Only together can we make this better. And that means some people need to shut up more...some people need to clean it up more... and some people need to learn to respect each other enough to only inform them that they are being a complete tool instead of attacking them for being a complete tool.

I'm confused as to what is being asked of me on the last issue. And while I don't blame the entire sites problems on the things this group is supposed to be against.. I do believe that this group is a good thing that will help, but not cure whatever problems are going on in the site. I agree that the organization shouldn't be used for an army... I never want that or wanted that.
But yeah slightly off topic kinda, but if someone could explain to me how I can stop being the center of the universe, I would appreciate it..

It's more of a call to the members to alter their thoughts about you. To think of you as a good member, and someone important, but not the final say nor the deciding factor in anything...just that you are a member with an opinion and yours should carry just as much weight as Elven's, Sour's, or Shan's. People need to quit thinking of you as the ultimate authority or driving point of the site and start looking at everyone... or even themselves. Stop asking "What does angel think of this?" and start asking "Is this a good idea and what can i do to help it and the site" |

I have to say that I agree with everything Ghost said. I know I need to be a little calmer but I am passionate about the freedoms and rights of people and I cant help that.Part of the reason I get so up in arms in several of the key things Ghost mentioned, most namely Sles unfailing conviction to post everything he doesn't agree with as FLAME and the fact that in the end Angel gets her way.
I have no personal problem with Angel and when I first started to post here I was calm and simply stated my opinion on this 'group', voiced that I would have nothing to do with it and voiced my concerns for what could happen. The thing that got me angry was when that simple thing, my opinion, was attacked like it was sacrilege and pressed on by Angel that I was wrong, period, end of story.
If others here would simply listen to me and others instead of 'NO YOUR WRONG BECAUSE YOU OPINION IS AGAINST SOMETHING I LIKE!' then I wouldn't have to get angry about anything. As it is the disregard some of the perceived 'higher ups' have for the members opinions and views it what makes me so damn angry.
