It had been 4 years since Nightmare had attempted to take over the universe and was defeated by Kirby. People were living in peace. Everything was perfect.
Until now.
Nightmare had not exactly lost to Kirby when they faught in the fortress. Nightmare instead retreated back to the Nightmare Orb. There, he was planning his attack on Dreamland.
A note fell from the sky, which Meta Knight had found and picked up. It read:
The Worst Is Yet To Come
Curious, Meta Knight asked people if they knew anything about the note, but no luck had come across. Meta Knight decided that he should investigate. He left Cappy Town and went to find out where the note came from.

Meta Knight was walking along the path that left Cappy Town and he came to Collie Town.
MK:You know what this means?
Civilian:No.
Left and right Meta knight asked questions and nobody knew what it ment.
MK:Do you know what this means?
Civilian:No.

Meta Knight eventually found Dedede and asked.
Meta: Do you have any idea what this note means?
Dedede: No, and even if I did, why would I tell you?
Meta: This is getting me nowhere.... I want answers.
A voice came from a nearby tree.
"I might be able to help you."

Axe Knight: I evacuated the ship when Kirby attempted to defeat you. However, I know what is troubling you.
Meta: This note.
Axe: Yes. Wherever it came from is beyond my comprehension. But I wouldn't doubt this out as a prank by Dedede.
Meta: But... what does it mean?
A gust of wind picked up, and a fireball could be seen coming down from the sky.

They dove as the fireball hit the ground

Smoke cleared from the fireball and it turned out to be nothing more than a simple meteorite.
Meta Knight: Strange...a Meteor hasn't hit Dream Land in over 2,000 years.
Axe Knight: Maybe something's inside it?
The top half of the meteorite opened, and out flew Mace Knight.

Kaile:Yes in fact I was the last of the army. I Destroyed the rest of anybody for i know no good in any of the men...I have been here since the war ended. in a nearby town called Kraet Town.
