no no.... I was pointing fingers at anyone Ghost, I was just saying that you implemented the new app too quickly. Most of the categories in the application are unavailable or unfinished. You should have posted and implemented this template after this RP ended. It would be less confusing that way.

my ORIGINAL intention was to have everything figured out and posted... but then a certain deletion happened and things got posted before they were ready but oh well.... what can you do

True... things got out of hand and some people got impatient. Time to switch gears and regroup.

I agree with the simplification, because it helps out with a lot of things in life.
If I wanted stats I'd play an rpg on my console, not an RP online.

More people are saying yes.
Now look, it's not because I am lazy to feel out a huge app. It's because being so picky about such details makes an RP not fun.

Well Emi your definition on the old days and new generation were very vague, even Angel said the same thing. You didn't really explain yourself when you started this thread.
Some things don't need great details but we can't have things too broad either. We need some balance.

Though I love the RP any way it is, I agree with you, emil. It's not the RP anymore. It's becoming more of a "Staff RP" IMO. I have no idea what's going on half the time and it was amazing back in RP1,2, and 3. Personally, I liked it back then. Now, it's like I can no longer do what I wish, and as I said before, "Staff RP". Smashbro and I have been occupying ourselves with a mission on the side because both of us don't know what to do. I know ENERGY and STATS help suppress us, but now I'm completely limited. Nobody is allowed to have a GODLIKE character who cannot die, and I completely agree. That is why we must use our heads. LOGIC. People must think. Is it logical that your character can dodge a blade inches from them? NO! Is it logical that your character can dodge an arrow launched from 100 feet? Yes, but not always. I was battling Steele, way back when, and we both did something extraordinary. We used our HEADS! We hit each other as well as dodging. He won I lost. I saw my character weaker than his because of my character's lack of experience. People may have argument on who will win, but in the end, just decide. Is it really that hard to do? That person's attack is 23 and your attack is 15. Who can hit harder? He/She can. Your defense is 19 theirs is 13. You can take more hits. Obviously people can make decisions. Personally heres what I say:
-Energy ~ GONE. People should be smart enough to know what tires their characters (Ex: Steele was exhausted from using Sacred Sword Techniques [Especially SST7 - an ultimate attack])
-Stats ~ BACK TO THE OLD WAYS (Smash shop buying stats and items) Stat types : Strength (includes magic), Defense,
-Pets ~ Let them have it, no matter what it is (pokemon, animal, djinni) just the person must understand that the animal does NOT make them any more powerful than the character already would be.
-Items ~ I liked it when we could buy our items or sell them to the smash shop. Also, get things on your adventure, but not illogical things (Ex: Can't find a loaded gun under a rock in the woods, unless your character put it there)
-Money ~ Totaled up at the end of the RP section, just like before. Money is not issued to the character, but to the owner of the character.
-The RP itself ~ Let people help decide what happens in the RP, not just the staff. Possibly make a poll to approve what has already been approved by RP staff so they can see the people's views.

Since SSB does not require energy for abilities, we shouldn't have it but I don't mind having them either. 2. Hell no... I would rather get rid of stats completely than go back to that combat/authority bullshit. 3. I liked the items idea in the past. Having your character item's be placed in the smash shop but It seems that people got lazy about it overtime. 4. I agree with the pets suggestion. 5. I'm good either way. Character currency is more realistic but RPer oney is more convient. I don't mind it. 6. This is a great idea. I mean the RP staff can still decide what goes in the story but it would be nice to fish around for ideas and get the members opinions for what kind of story they want. So we won't always look toward the staff for everything. I agree with most of MM's views. This RP was always staff run and members have very little say in what goes on here. So many restrictions have been placed on the RP because 1. people like to get away with shit and 2. we don't trust RPers to make the right decisions. We need active mods that get shit done, listen to people's suggestions for general things and also.. looks over RP threads for unfairness. Seriously, if you are too lazy to look over the section your involved with, you shouldn't be a mod. Cops don't sit there and wait for people to call in problems. They patrol and see if anything is wrong.

I'm more used to actually having a system that pretty much leaves such things up to me. The stats and energy here is alright and I don't mind this particular system that much aside from a few complaints. I'll go with the flow on this one. 2. Combat/Authority? I personally thought that system was pretty lame and outlandish (no offense to past rpers.. its just what I saw back in my lurking days) So.. I don't really want to see this come back. 3. I did however like the past idea with the shop like star did. 4. I agree but there has to be some limitations to it like doing a quest to find a legendary pokemon or something or at least make such a thing harder to achieve or get by with. 5. Why not have both? It would be a way to give a bit more incentive to join the main and post in general. 6. I agree. I never liked the idea that the staff always makes the story and holds your hand throughout the thing. and also.. Come to Philadelphia and I shall prove you wrong =O

Emil's definition of the "old days" was too vague and I believe your all just hung up on the fun you had in the past. Just because its old doesn't mean its great guys and old days had its flaws as well such as being way too simple. You hang on to the past forever and the old way of doing things. You should improve what is here now and maybe bring back a few old concepts.. but stuff like combat and authority needs to say in the back of the closet

It's easy to understand, and just about anyone can join in. Besides this RP goes both ways. It appeals to casuals and hardcores, it was just more lenient toward casuals or newcomers. Besides, old system worked for 3 RPs, and a 4th one with an added stat, but still the same concept. Why can't it work for another one?
