“At last we meet, Dortiem. I’ve been watching you for quite some time.” Malik smiled as he paced back and forth. “Ever since you defeated my sister, I have been absolutely
intrigued by you. Of course, when I found that Mariella’s power had been transferred to you, it even further sparked my
curiosity.”
“Excuse me if I sound rude,” Dobs interrupted, “But who the
Hell are you?”
Malik laughed, “How impolite of me,” he took a bow, “I am Malik Yeldir, King of Synkard, head of The Three who seek the power within
you.”
Dobs suddenly realized the situation he was in.
This is the guy Nhalini was talking about before she left. He was the one pulling all the strings. He must have sent Dark Samus to finish me… Malik continued to speak, “That witch of a woman Nhalini sealed me here ten years ago, along with herself, in a pathetic attempt to keep me from my prize. For ten, long years, we battled ceaselessly. That is, until that rat Mariella finally decided to give up the Power which was un-rightfully hers. When that happened, the seal was broken, and we were set free.
And how good it is to be free.”

Dobs looked back towards Samus, who didn’t seem to notice what was going. Suddenly, she sprinted forwards towards Malik, blasting him with shots from her Plasma Beam. The dark armored man disappeared in what appeared to be purple smoke and reappeared behind the bounty hunter. He extended his hands to her skull and grabbed it, purple energy surging from his fingertips.
“NO!” Dobs ran towards his friend in an attempt to save her, but by the time he had reached her, she had collapsed to the ground, and her attacker had disappeared in yet another cloud of purple smoke. His eyes glowed a bright green as he spoke in anger to his new enemy, “You just made a
big mistake. If you want this Power so badly, then you’ll have to defeat it.”
A green aura surrounded Dobs as he held his sais and floated into the air. Wind currents blew around him as he stared down his opponent.
“I’ve been waiting for this for a [/i]long[/i] time, you’d better put up a fight.” Malik sneered.
Dobs didn’t respond with words, but with a shurikan storm that he sent flying towards Malik telekinetically. The glowing green pointed projectiles cut through the air towards their target who simply stood and smiled. At the last moment possible, a massive flail appeared seemingly from no-where and spun in a vertical circle in front of Malik. It created a purple shield which the green shurikans bounced off of as if they were ping pong balls.
Malik smiled, “You’ll have to do better than that, Dobby”
Malik flew forwards straight at Dobs, his flail trailing behind him. He swung the massive spiked ball at the end of his chain straight at Dobs. Dobs withdrew his staff and held it out in front of him and it caught the chain of the flail which wrapped around the glowing green staff repeatedly. Dobs pulled his staff backwards and the flail was catapulted behind him. At the same time, he flipped backwards, kicking Malik in the jaw as he jumped back.
“Was that pain to your liking?” asked Dobs.
Dobs didn’t wait for an answer as he dashed towards his bewildered opponent. He jumped forwards onto his hands and rolled into a ball. Dobs then extended all of his limbs and jettisoned himself upwards, kicking Malik up with him. As Dobs flew upwards, he did yet another flip in mid-air, kicking Malik in the face again. Dobs then withdrew his sais and commenced a massive combination of sai slashes which continued until the duo hit the ground again. At which point, Malik vanished in another cloud of smoke.
Dobs stopped and scanned the area for his opponent, who was nowhere to be found. After a few moments, Dobs looked upwards to find that Malik’s massive figure was hurtling downwards on a collision course with Dobs. Malik punched Dobs in the face as he landed and a pulse of purple energy flew from his fist as he did so. Dobs hit the floor and bounced a good 30 feet before getting up.

Dark energy surrounded Malik as he began to laugh maniacally, “Say hello to that rat Mariella for me in your next life.” Malik opened his mouth to an unnatural extent where a watermelon could easily fit into it. A massive purple tentacle with a demonic face and sharp teeth at its end shot from Malik’s mouth and grabbed Dobs by the throat. It began to thrash about, slamming Dobs into the floor repeatedly. It extended over Dobs’ mouth and nose, who began to writhe in pain on the floor.
Stop struggling Dobs could hear Malik’s voice in his head.
It will all be over soon. And won’t your eternal rest be all the more peaceful knowing that it was the result of me consuming your very soul? You see, this is the only way for me to extract the Power from within you… Dobs relinquished his grip from the tentacle strangling him as his oxygen supply.
Good. Now you must die.Dobs concentrated as hard as he could and eventually his voice transmitted through the mental pathway Malik had opened.
Not today Dobs slashed at the tentacle with his sai and severed it completely. The decapitated demonic head let out alien screeches as it flopped around on the floor like a fish out of water.
Malik dropped to his knees and stared at Dobs wide eyed, who was gasping for air. “This ends now.” Dobs walked up to his opponent and looked him in the eye.
Malik began to laugh yet again, “You think this is over? On the contrary its just begun. By killing me now, you will only set my plans into motion.”
“Is that so?” said Dobs angrily, still gazing into the dark man’s eyes. Malik said nothing, only intensified his gaze so that his eyes were now only slits in his head. Dobs then swiftly swung his sai and slit Malik’s throat. Malik’s eyes grew wide as he fell to the floor in death.
After Malik fell to the ground, the sound of metal boots hitting the ground echoed throughout the area. Samus slowly walked towards Dobs, Phazon coursing through her veins. Dobs looked at her with a sigh of relief as she stared at him in silence.
“I thought you were done for…” Dobs laughed.
Samus extended her arm cannon and pointed it at Dobs’ head. She quickly pulled the trigger and shot a blast of liquid-hot plasma beam at the confused Dobs, who fell to the floor…

[Nhalini, Dark Samus]
{Phaaze}
Nhalini flew on her massive wings through space, tracing the Phazon trail of Dark Samus. After what seemed like hours of flying through emptiness, a neon blue planet came into view. It had a hostile looking atmosphere, was filled with caves that were miles deep, and had massive blue Phazon tentacles growing from it. This of course was the Planet Phaaze. Before Nhalini could reach the planets surface, she was hit hard on her left side. Dark Samus had flown into her and thrown her slightly off, balance.

Dark Samus let out her signature screech and flew in between Nhalini and its home planet. Nhalini wondered why it was being so defensive…
What could this creature be guarding… Suddenly, the image of a Phazon-corrupted Samus protruded the thoughts of the alien woman.
That’s it! This dark creature must be using this radioactive blue substance to take control of the bounty hunter. Nhalini held her hand to her mouth as she realized an important detail which she had overlooked. She had left Dobs with Samus while she was still under Dark Samus’ control. She had to end this quickly.
“Move Dark One! Let me pass!” Nhalini thought it was at least worth a shot to ask nicely, but she had no luck. “Very well then. This planet must be destroyed.”
A burst of blue energy erupted from Nhalini as she thrust forwards towards the planet on her majestic wings. She heard the screech of Dark Samus who had obviously taken pursuit.
The two moved at incredibly high speeds as they flew towards the planet’s surface. Dark Samus began to shoot Phazon shards at Nhalini who was returning fire with energy blasts of her own. The projectiles collided between the two, emitting beautiful blue explosions which obstructed the view of the dark doppelganger.
Nhalini dove into Phazon-riddled caves of Phaaze, weaving in and out of its catacombs in an attempt to shake her pursuer. However, she had no luck, as Dark Samus would simply pummel through each obstacle that Nhalini avoided.
Deeper and deeper into the caves they delved until finally they reached a large opening at the core of Phaaze. It had to be destroyed. But how?

“I’m right here! I’m finished with running. Come and get me.” Nhalini floated in mid-air, extending her limbs in all directions.
May my sacrifice set the Hunter free. Dark Samus began to unload her fire-power on Nhalini.
I just pray that I am not too late. Nhalini’s eyes glowed blue and blue energy began to swirl around her, causing the energy blasts to be dispersed all throughout the core of Phaaze, and its walls to slowly collapse. She would bring down the planet from the inside, destroying it, and all Phazon. This would break Dark Samus’ control over her counterpart.
Nhalini thought only of the completion of her own Prophecy in her final moments of life.
When all have fallen

The Final Battle will commenceShe trusted its words, and knew that her sacrifice would lead to the salvation of the universe. She felt no despair at her own death. She felt empowered that it would serve a purpose. It would ensure that the Power be safe.
Bits of rock began to fall from the ceiling and crashed down onto the floor. The Phazon core of the planet began glowing a bright blue. Dark Samus became increasingly frustrated as she began to fly at Nhalini, in an attempt to break her force field. The dark hunter was simply swung around and flew into the cave’s ceiling. The planet was imploding, with both Dark Samus and Nhalini inside.
It is my time. Good Bye.Nhalini let out a massive radial blast of blue energy unlike anything she had ever produced before. This delivered the final blow to the planet which was finally destroyed… Nhalini along with it.

Moments after she had betrayed Dobs, Samus fell to the floor and began to contort in a plethora of strange positions. Blue energy was slowly being vented from Samus’ PED suit as she slowly re-gained control of her own actions. The Phazon was filtering out of her system due to the destruction of Phaaze. After a few minutes, she finally was able to stand on her feet.
She felt as if she had just woken up after an extremely long slumber. She had no idea where she was, or what was going on. Last she remembered, she was on SR388, when a mysterious man in black armor attacked her. Samus looked to the floor and immediately recognized her attacker.
“That’s got to be him…” Suddenly, Samus had the memory of a hospital bed flash before her face… Dark Samus was there, “Did he send it to posses me?” Samus turned her attention to the cerulean blue and silver armored boy who lied strewn about on the floor. “Dobs!”
She ran over to him and tried to shake him awake with no luck. She touched her index and middle fingers to his neck to check for a pulse…there was none. The hunter took off her helmet in respect as a single tear trickled down her face. “What happened here? Where am I?”
Samus observed the hostile purple atmosphere of Synkard in utter confusion. She tried to call in her gunship by use of the Command Visor, but the transmission failed repeatedly. This had never happened before, Samus was truly alone in this strange dimension.
Samus looked at the bodies next to her and activated her Scan Visor. She looked towards Malik and after a few moments, a message appeared on her visor’s HUD. If read:

Subject is the ruler of the realm known as Synkard, where souls lost in battle before their time go to be judged. He took over the dimension, corrupting it, turning it into a toxic wasteland. Subject was defeated in battle when its throat was slit by a sai.“If
he didn’t kill Dobs… what did?” Samus scanned Dobs’ body as well.

Subject was victim of the charged shot of a plasma beam to the left temple. Scans indicate that the shot was fired by a Chozo arm cannon.Samus collapsed to her knees upon hearing this news. She had been the culprit behind her friend’s death. A feeling of guilt overwhelming her, Samus sat down to think for a moment in this hopeless situation when suddenly, a strange voice began to speak to her.

As quickly as the voice had entered Samus’ thoughts, it vanished. She didn’t recognize who had spoken to her, nor what the strange message meant, but this strange occurrence instilled a new hope within the bounty hunter. She was determined not to give up.
“All have most definitely fallen…” Samus was fighting back tears,” Maybe it isn’t too late….”
As Samus observed her setting, she couldn’t help but notice that it struck an uncanny resemblance to Dark Aether. A dimension of a planet she had previously visited with and anti-dimension, so to speak. She activated her Dark Visor (with the ability to locate inter-dimensional objects) and scanned the surrounding area. To her surprise, in the middle of the seemingly empty barren wasteland, her Dark Visor revealed a massive tower, trapped between dimensions.
“That looks promising…” Samus scanned the structure and read:

According to legend, this is where the six souls of those linked to Great Power would rest after each fell in battle by the hand of the other. Only the Sixth of this group could access the Tower, and revive the other five. It is foretold that a Great Battle would then ensue between the Three of Darkness, and the Three of Light.“Interesting… but how do I get there?” Samus thought long and hard, and finally decided that the combination of her Light and Dark beams was her best option. After all, the tower
was stuck between dimensions, and hitting it with a piece of both seemed like it would do the tick. Samus charged up her Annihilator Beam (yes, that’s the actual beam name xD) and fired at the tower, creating a sonic boom and a massive storm cloud to form.
Samus watched as the tower was ripped from between dimensions and re-materialized in front of her. “There’s something you don’t see every day. I hope that voice was right…”
Samus entered the tower with extreme caution.

Samus entered the enormous gothic styled tower with great caution. It looked like a massive cathedral and seemingly had no peak. She pushed open its massive arched doorway and stepped inside to be welcomed by a sight that she most certainly did not expect.
The interior of the tower was completely hollow, extending upwards for miles, no ceiling could be seen. The structure was dimly lit by the light of thousands of lanterns hanging from its walls. However, this was not the only thing attached to the Tower’s walls.
Bodies. Thousands of bodies. The bodies of fallen warriors, waiting to be ferried into the next life were suspended in mid-air around the perimeter of the Tower’s walls. Malik had not been doing his job as the ruler of Synkard. So here, the souls of fallen Warriors waited judgment in silence.
“There has got to be a top to this thing…” Suddenly, Samus realized how she could get up there.

She began to sprint around the perimeter of the tower. She ran faster and faster until her power suit eventually began to glow a bright blue. Samus quickly ducked to store up the kinetic energy she had generated with the Speed Booster. She was blinking white as she walked to the center of the citadel. She paused for a moment in midair and then began to fly vertically upwards at Mach 9.
Further and further upwards Samus flew, passing thousands upon thousands of souls along the way. She couldn’t help but pity them as she passed them in their eternal slumber. After minutes of flight, Samus could finally see an end to this massive vertical corridor. Surprisingly, Samus’ Speed Boost did not end when she hit the ceiling. Rather, she burst through the ceiling and found herself on the roof of the enormous structure.
On the roof, 5 bodies floated in a perfect circle around Samus. They were the bodies of Dobs, Malik, Dark Samus, Xzaana, and Mariella. The five others linked to the Great Power. It was foretold by the Oracle Nhalini that the Hunter could revive them all so that the Final Battle could commence. But how?
Suddenly… a read light began glowing from within Samus… she had no idea what it was, but somehow, she felt it becoming a part of her. Her body was lifted into the air as the newly-found red-aura surrounded her. The Power was transferred to Samus after all of the other holders had died off. She had to use it to revive them.
Higher and higher her body floated, until a shot of read smoke flew into the bodies of Dobs and Mariella. The bodies began to stir and finally floated back towards the ground.
Dobs thought he would cough up a lung, “Samus! What are you- MARIELLA!?”
“I’m as horribly confused as you are but-” Mariella spread her arms and jumped at Dobs, embracing him.
The two quickly separated, seeing that the same red smoke which had revived them was now floating towards Malik, Xzaana, and Dark Samus. The three bodies floated down in the same manner as did the previous two. After this, Samus stopped glowing, and a beam of light shot from her to Mariella, signifying that the power had been transferred back to her.
“So it has begun,” Malik smiled, “It seems that old wretch is good for something. She foretold every moment of what has happened up until this point. Now, our fate is in our own hands.”
Before anyone could say anything else, Nhalini’s disembodied voice could be heard echoing throughout the scene.

The pieces have been set into motion. My part in this is finished along with my life. The Dark Three shall face the Light Three in a Final Battle for possession of the Great Power. Good luck, my children.“She planned it all?” Said Dobs confused. “And she didn’t tell us?”
“Yes, she has a knack for that…” said Mariella somewhat distraught, “I would know. But she knows what is best. You have to trust her. I did.”
A blinding blue light flashed over the scene, and suddenly, the six warriors were standing on top of a massive plateau over an ocean. It was an illusion created by Synkard made to create a more suitable battlefield.
Dobs nodded in understanding. He looked to Mariella on his right and Samus on his left. “Lets do this.”

A massive storm cloud formed over the battlefield as Xzaana raised her had towards the sky, “I’ve been waiting my entire life for this battle, and my entire death too. You brats won’t be able to spoil it for me without your mommy here to save you.” The pale greened skin woman spoke maliciously as a bolt of lightning struck behind her.
“Lets get this battle started, shall we?” said Malik. Dark Samus let out a shriek in approval and Xzaana had already captured a lightning bolt in her palm.
Dobs dashed forwards with Mariella at his side who began to lift him off of the ground using her pink telekinetic energy. She propelled Dobs forwards even faster as he prepared his sais for an attack on Malik. Xzaana let loose her lightning bolt at Dobs, but Mariella had suspected this and already created a shield for such an occurrence. The bolt deflected and nearly hit Dark Samus. Uninterrupted, Dobs flew into Malik and tackled him to the floor.
The battle quickly shifted into 3 separate mini-battles. Dark Samus flew straight for Samus, Xzaana wanted to finish what she had started with Mariella as a child, and Malik was frustrated with Dobs for striking the first blow on him.
“I can’t believe I have to kill this thing
again,” Samus growled as she charged up her light beam and took aim for Dark Samus.
The doppelganger hit the ground with her arm cannon and 8 Phazon tentacles surrounded her, creating a reflective shield and pushing Samus’ shot back at her. Samus rolled into the morph ball to dodge and boosted into Dark Samus. The Metroid Prime buckled when hit in the knees with the Samus’ spherical form and fell to the ground. It was quickly knocked back up by three bombs left behind by Samus. Dark Samus let out a screech and headed straight for Samus.
Mariella was unloading glowing pink arrows at Xzaana as fast as she possibly could but had no luck. The elemental alien was constantly lifting the ground in front of her as a shield to each shot.
“You’ll never hit me like that, Mariella dearest!” Xzaana cackled as she used the earth as a catapult and thrust herself towards Mariella. She tackled her opponent to the ground and laughed again. “You put such great Power to such poor use little girl.”
Malik swung his flail in all directions in an attempt to hit the clearly more nimble Dobs. However, without Mariella’s powers, he was at a disadvantage in brute force. He would have to rely on his speed if he wanted to win this battle. Malik missed swing after swing until finally he grew frustrated.
“Enough of this!” A pulse of purple energy shot in a perfect circle around him, melting the ground it came into contact with. Dobs did a stylish back flip over the shockwave and landed next to his opponent. He took a swing as hard as he could with his staff, which stopped dead on contact with Malik’s thick plated armor. The metal staff rang out in failure as Malik laughed.
“Is that all?” Malik grabbed Dobs’ skull with one hand and raised him into the air. A purple explosion burst from it and Dobs flew downwards. ((Flame choke ftw! xD))
Samus looked over at Mariella and saw that she was in trouble. She shot an Ice Beam at Xzaana who fell back off of Mariella in response. However, Samus had done more damage than help. Xzaana took the ice into her hands and spread it across the floor in front of her and began to skate on it.
“Why thank you Sammy! A new toy to play with!” Xzaana extended her hand in front of her and began to shoot shards of ice at Mariella who withdrew her staff and swung it repeatedly in front of her, pushing the shards away.
“Sorry about that!” Samus shouted to Mariella.
“Look out!”
Dark Samus shot a massive Phazon blast at Samus to remind her that she had a battle of her own to fight. Samus shot successive Plasma Beam shots at her dark counterpart. Dark Samus was no longer attempting to dodge but flew straight for Samus, sustaining several hits. It shot its version of the Grapple Beam at Samus, latching onto her. Dark Samus then began to swing the bounty hunter about on the end of the string continually pounding her into the rocks on the floor. The hunter was eventually dislodged from the grapple, but was flung several yards away afterwards.
Dobs swung his legs as he got up, tripping Malik. Dobs then thrust his staff into the floor and used it to catapult himself upwards in a spinning kick. Dobs came down hard on Malik and hit him in the face with his heel. Dobs than quickly flipped backwards away from his opponent.

“Wee need to regroup! We have to fight together if we are going to take them out!” Dobs shouted to his companions.
Samus rolled over quickly in her morph ball. “Lets do this.”
“I’m a bit preoccupied at the moment!” Mariella shouted as she avoided ice blasts from Xzaana. Samus delivered a well aimed shot to Xzaana’s shoulder with the Imperialist’s red laser and the woman flew back. “And now I’m not!” Mariella quickly jumped towards her two companions.
“We have to stand together no matter what. With the three of us combined, they don’t stand a chance. They are fighting for death and destruction at their own hand, while we are fighting for something real. Lets show them what we’re made of!” Dobs held out his fist and the two women followed shortly.
“Not that that little speech wasn’t touching and all,” said Mariella, “But just how the Hell are we supposed to beat them?”
“We aren’t, you are” said Dobs.
“What? Me? I don’t under-”
“Your power is driven by emotion. I know, I’ve used it.”
“What are you saying?”
“Think of everything they’ve done to you. They tried to kill you as a child. Separated you from your mother, forcing you to live on a strange planet with
me. Xzaana killed you and sent you to this God-Forsaken dimension where Malik neglected to tend to your soul or thousands of others here.”
“Could you speed this up? Everyone is getting up…” Samus began to shoot her Power Beam at the Three, keeping them at bay for a little longer.
“They're keeping us apart.” Dobs said this with a tone of deep sorrow and honesty.
“I’m ready.” Said Mariella, as angry as can be. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Mariella’s eyes were glowing pink as she rose into the air, wind currents swirling around her with her hair blowing in all directions.
“How cute, she’s angry” Xzaana snorted. She then created a small tornado around her legs and rode the wind current into her adversary. To her great surprise, as soon as she got close to Mariella, she completely lost control of her body as it was taken in and twisted around the vortex that was now Mariella. Her body flew in circles around and around the seemingly possessed girl.
After a few moments, Mariella extended her hand in a fist and Xzanna stopped on a dime directly in front of her. The green woman struggled against the forces acting on her to move, but had no avail.
“You. Everything bad that has happened to me is your fault. Its about time you stayed dead.”Mariella opened her fist and Xzaana was shot at the speed of sound into the ground which she promptly became a part of. There was a massive crater formed from the impact nearly 20 feet in depth, with Xzaana soup inside.
“She has discovered it…” Malik was filled with fear now that Mariella had discovered the power with her.
“Discovered it!? I always knew it was here, I was just told by someone very wise never to use it. Until now.Mariella now extended her hand towards Malik and lifted him into the air.
“Do you have anything to say for yourself you cowardice swine?” Malik was speechless.
“Very well then.” Mariella closed her hand into a fist and Malik slowly began to implode. He let out a massive scream that could be heard for miles. Dark Samus flew at him in an attempt to save its new master. The Samus-clone was however sucked into the same vortex which was destroying Malik from the inside. The two were crushed together into an extremely small space until they became soup much like Xzaana.

Mariella slowly floated back towards the ground. Her hair fell back into place and her eyes reverted back to their original blue green color. Dobs began to laugh as he ran over to her and embraced her. Samus joined in for an extremely metaly group hug.
Mariella laughed as she cried a tear of joy that the battle for the power within her was finally over.
“I’m sure, watching over you from somewhere,” said Dobs, “Nhalini is proud of you.” Mariella laughed a bit, and cried a bit more in mourning for her mother’s death, “She sacrificed herself so that you could succeed. That is more than anyone could ever have asked for. Come back with me.”
“What?” said Mariella, confused.
“Come back with me, to the SSS” said Dobs exuberantly.
Mariella laughed a bit, “I can’t do that. Its not my place.”
“Why? Where is your place?”
“Here, Synkard. I have to clean up after Malik, these souls can’t stay here. It is my responsibility to see them into the next life.”
“But-”
“It wasn’t meant for us to be together in this life, Dobs. Maybe, in another place, in another time, it could have been. But now, we have to go our separate ways.” Mariella was extremely calm and serene, but Dobs couldn’t understand why.

This life?”
“There will be others. I’ve seen them. The next is particularly memorable.” Mariella smiled.
“Ok,” Dobs laughed a bit, “I’m not going to pretend to understand what you just said. But if I’ve learned anything from Nhalini, its that random cryptic words make sense in the end.”
Mariella laughed again, “You catch on quickly for such a dolt.”
The two embraced each other in a long kiss as Samus stood awkwardly by. They didn’t care very much though, seeing as this would be their last meeting for a very long time.
“Good bye Samus, Dobs,” Mariella began to open a portal back to Smash Planet. “I’ll see you next life.”
Dobs and Samus stepped through the portal side-by-side, ready to start a new life…
