CHAPTER 38: THE INNOCENT CAPTURED

The characters set off in groups to find the items they needed. Pit went with Marth alone, hoping they could talk about the prophecy.
“So if it’s not us,” said Marth, “who do you think it is?”
“Yeah. Not to be arrogant, but I think were both pretty strong in character.”
“I don’t know. Maybe…you know.”
“Definitely. He was a pretty obvious…hey!” yelled Pit, as Wario drove by on his motorcycle, followed by Meta Knight, Roy and Ness.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to hit the wimpy angel and the girly man,” Wario called back.
“That’s it we’re chasing him!” yelled Marth, as Pit shot an arrow. It missed, and so the chase ensued.
“Maybe we should split up and walk around the building to uhh…check the perimeter or something,” suggested Peach. She was terrified of being out there all alone, but it would probably help more to split up.
“O…k…” said Luigi, and they walked off in two different directions. He was also terrified, but tried not to show it. As he walked around the side of the facility, he came face to face with an old friend. DK. The monkey grabbed Luigi, flung him away, and then ran after the man in green. Instead of fighting, Luigi ran to where he was planning on meeting Peach, who came running at him just as fast.
“Ganondorf…almost got me...” she said, as they both prepared to fight. But neither enemy could be seen.
“May…maybe we should radio in…” Luigi started.
“for help yeah,” finished Peach. They called in to Mewtwo, via their 2 way radio.
“Help? How many people?” asked Mewtwo.
“I can go!” said Sonic, and he ran out of the door.
Mewtwo started, “Sonic’s on his…”
“He’s here,” said Peach. The 3 got ready to fight.
As Pit and the others were running, he got a call on his radio.
“Pit, it’s Mewtwo. We could use you and your arrows outside, there are some enemies.” (He then told Pit what happened to Luigi and Peach).
“I’m trying to get Wario right now. And wait, they let Peach and Luigi go? That’s…wait, it’s a …” Pit was cut off, because Wario had turned around quickly, got past the other 4 heroes, and took the radio. He placed the radio behind him on the motorcycle and then farted, sending him forward ever faster.
“What did he do to that thing?” asked Roy, as pieces of what used to be the radio fell to the ground.
But Wario seem to have run out of luck, as the five cornered Wario, or at least thought they did.
“Welcome back,” said Pit, as he launched his arrow.
“That’s what you think!” said Wario, and a portal appeared in front of Wario, which made the arrow go into subspace. A portal then opened behind the heroes, and the arrow hit Ness, whose eyes turned the blue color. Ness then ran into subspace through a portal, and Roy went in after him, hoping to get him back. The portal closed, right was Meta Knight was about to go through to stop them.
“Where’s Wario?” asked Pit. The enemy had disappeared. But a portal opened behind the three, and Wario pulled Meta Knight through. Before Pit or Marth could react, the portal closed, and they were left alone.
“We have to go tell everyone,” said Marth, and Pit agreed. The two ran through the maze of corridors, but could not find the way back. They decided to split up, hoping to find the others.
So as Pit ran, he thought he heard voices of the other heroes. He tried gliding, but after he was in the air a portal opened. Before he could stop himself, he flew into the portal, and came face to face with someone he recognized.
“Hello, Pit,” said the evil Marth. A second later Pit was hit from behind. Taboo now had 5 new members of his army.

CHAPTER 39: THE COUPLES PROTECT

Luigi, Peach, and Sonic stood in front of the building, posed to fight. They waited there. And waited. And waited. None of the enemies appeared though. It seemed like they had just gone.
“What do you think happened to them?” asked Luigi.
“I…I don’t know. They should have been here right after us,” said Peach, not sure of the enemy’s plan either.
“Ehh, we must have scared them off,” replied Sonic. “Let’s call in that we’re safe.”
“What are we waiting for now?” asked Bowser, looking at Peach, Luigi and Sonic in the distance.
“Our new recruits…and for them to take out their radio,” replied Ganondorf. Then, the newly evil characters came through a portal. “Get your bow out,” he ordered Pit.
“Hello?” Mewtwo answered the radio.
“Yeah, we don’t see anyone here anymore,” said Sonic. “I might as well stay out here, just in case anyone comes back. Maybe we could get Pit here, so that he can…”
“What’s that arrow?” asked Peach, as an arrow flew at Sonic. He noticed just in time, and moved away, dropping the radio. Another arrow was shot and the radio was destroyed.
“Guys! Guys what happened?” Mewtwo asked into the radio. But he could not be heard. “ROB, Link; go outside and see what’s going on.” The two then left. Mewtwo went back to working on the portal, and the only other people in the room were Zelda, Samus, Snake, and Falcon.
“I…better go to the bathroom,” said Zelda, and she got up to head toward the door.
“No you don’t,” said Snake. “We videogame characters never have to go unless it’s convenient to the story.”
“Right…” said Zelda as she left the room.
ROB and Link walked through the corridors to the exit.
“I hope everything works out ok,” said ROB.
“Yeah,” replied Link.
“Does it always feel like this? Being afraid of what could happen, but confident you’re doing the right thing?”
“Yeah, that’s pretty much how a hero always feels.”
“Link!” Zelda ran up to the two, panting. “I’m gonna help you outside.”
“Umm…” said Link, looking at ROB.
“I’ll go ahead.” ROB then moved toward the exit a little faster.
“I have a bad feeling about going out there,” said Zelda.
“That’s ok, things will end up ok.”
“But what if one of us dies?”
“Don’t worry, we won’t,” said Link, hugging her. The group then walked out of the building.
Outside, they met something they feared. Ganondorf, Bowser, and Wario were standing, ready to fight Sonic, Peach, and Luigi.
“Guys!” yelled Link, as the three ran out.
“We have them outnumbered, we will win,” said ROB.
“That’s what you think!” yelled Wario, as Marth, Diddy, Ness, and Meta Knight appeared.
“We’ll hold them off,” said Zelda, to Luigi. “Go get more help.” So Luigi ran into the building to go find more heroes. He made his way back to the room with Mewtwo, Samus, Snake, and Falcon.
“They…need…help,” Luigi gasped, out of breath. He laid down on the couch, and Samus got up.
“I’ll go,” she said, then left. One of the people in the room looked concerned, who then got up and left after Samus. She had brought a smash ball with her, so she could use her final smash.
Outside, the battle seemed to be getting nowhere. The heroes would try to attack, but Ness or Marth would jump in front of the attack and heal or counter. The evil ones weren’t scratch less though, and it seemed to look better when Samus came out. She got ready to use her final smash.
“Falcon…CHARGE!” she yelled, and used the Zero laser. The enemies were sent flying away, as Captain Falcon ran out of the building.
“You’re ok!” Falcon said, running up to Samus. They hugged, and Peach and Zelda said, “Awwwww.” But those weren’t the only enemies. Young Link, Pit, DK, and Roy shot the blue laser guns, and it was over for those heroes.
“Good,” said Taboo. “You lured a good number of them out and caught them. Perfect.”

CHAPTER 40: THE SPLIT

“So they’re all gone?” asked Mewtwo, hearing the story of the ones who were captured most recently.
“Yeah, I saw it all,” said Yoshi, who was telling the story to everyone. “It all happened when I was watching it out of the window. I was going to come down to help when Samus came, and I figured that they had won. But then they were shot at and hit, so they turned evil. Then everyone walked through a portal, and were gone.” Almost everyone else seemed shocked at the story; a few were thinking other things. ‘I’m not gonna tell them that before they left, Peach looked right at me and said, “You’ll be next.” That would be kinda creepy. But I gotta watch out.’
“Then it’s a good thing I’m almost done with the machine,” replied Mewtwo. He was definitely worried, but more confident now that their plan was almost complete. “Everyone prepare to fight. I should have the machine done by the morning. It also might be a good idea to find some smash balls so we can use them in the battle.” Everyone went off to do their own thing, with some discussing what happened.
“I was almost caught…,”Luigi said, stunned.
“They took Peach…again!” Mario exclaimed, ignoring his brother. “Now we’ve really got to crush them.”
“I was almost caught…,”Luigi said again, stunned. “I can’t believe it…Usually bad things happen to me.”
“Well, then you must have work to do,” said Game and Watch, coming up to the two brothers. “Everything happens for a reason.” The two brothers then stared at Game and Watch, slightly confused.
“We should probably come up with some battle plan,” suggested Red. “What we need to do is make sure we attack from all sides, so he doesn’t know where to attack back.”
“Don’t forget to pick on his weakness,” piped up Pikachu.
“Yeah…we should approach from two sides…that way we’ll surround him after taking out the other enemies in our way,” suggested Ike.
“We should see if there are any Dragoon pieces or something, that way we have a big attack.” The group broke up to look for Dragoon pieces, but Kirby stopped Red.
“Are you mad that…well, it was Falcon?” asked Kirby.
“Well…N…No, of course not,” replied Red. “I didn’t really…and there’s this girl back home I…I don’t know…I mean no. I’m not mad.”
“So, we just gotta attack like crazy, just like we did last time?” asked Dedede.
“Yep,” replied Fox.
“Pretty much,” agreed Falco.
“We’ll take him down easy…even though I would feel better with some better fighters,” said Snake, looking at some of the others, including the ice climbers, Yoshi, and Jigglypuff.
“Yeah, they took our good fighters last time,” agreed Wolf.
“Now pretty much everyone has been captured,” said Lucas, depressed.
“We’ll be ok, we still have half our members,’ replied Yoshi.
“How can you be so happy?” asked Popo.
“Aren’t you scared?” asked Nana.
“Well, yeah, of course I’m partly scared, but I can always hope things will turn out ok,” replied Yoshi.
“But it feels like I can’t do anything to help,” replied Jigglypuff. Pichu, Toon Link, Olimar, the Climbers, and Lucas all agreed.
“You’ll be able to help…I promise. Some of you more then others maybe, but you will all definitely all be able to help. I know you guys have the potential,” said Yoshi.
Later that night, Lucas was standing guard and Mewtwo was finishing up the machine. Mewtwo was in the room with the portal; Lucas in the room where everyone slept. He saw a bright flash of blue light, and Mewtwo yelled, “I’ve done it!” Lucas went to the portal room to see what it looked like…and was in for a surprise. Just as he came in the room, Mewtwo was pulled into the portal by Lucario, and enemies flooded into the room.
I can’t believe it Lucas thought. What would be the right thing to do…get everyone else, I can’t do this alone. So Lucas ran into the bedroom, and woke everyone up. He slammed the door behind him, hoping it would give them all extra time.
“Run! They’re attacking!” yelled Lucas, and he told them what happened as they ran to another part of the building. They ran into the basement, and locked the door behind them, taking a moment to rest.
“What do we do?” asked Lucas.
“I know I’m getting out of here,” said Wolf, turning around. “I’m not gonna wait and let myself be captured like an animal.”
“But what about everyone else?” asked Lucas.
“I couldn’t care less what happened to them,” replied Wolf, and he walked away.
“I’ll go talk to him, said Dedede, who followed.
“Why don’t you want to help?” asked Dedede, catching up with Wolf.
“What have any of them done for me?” asked Wolf.
“I could probably rig up something to turn them good again, or at least captured them,” said Snake. “Get me everything on this list.” He then turned to go down a hallway. “I’m gonna try to find a place to work on it.” He then left.
“We better go with him and come back to you guys and tell you where he ends up,” said Popo, and he, Nana, and Pichu went to follow. After some time he realized that he was being followed.
“What are you doing?” he asked.
“We wanted to follow so you would tell us where to bring the other people,” replied Pichu.
“Dumb a**es,” he said. “I have no plan for what to do next. I just gave out lists so that they would be kept busy while I escaped. We have no info on the enemy and they know our current position. It would be better to lay low for a while.”
“Well, this isn’t gonna do us much good,” said Falco. “I don’t know about you, but I’m getting some final smash balls and attacking. That’s how we can win.” He turned and went down a different hallway then the first 2 groups.
“They’re not that way, they’re this way,” said Fox, pointing down a 4th hallway.
“No they’re not, I’m always right,” replied Falco.
“NO YOU’RE NOT!!!” yelled everyone there.
“But this time I think Falco IS right,” said Kirby.
“Really?” asked Jigglypuff quietly, so only Kirby could hear.
“No, but we need to make sure everyone stays together somehow and maybe I can convince him to stay as part of the group,” replied Kirby.
“I’m going with him too,” said Jigglypuff, hoping she could help.
“Well I’m going to find them first,” said Fox. Red came up behind him.
“I guess I’ll go with you,” he said. Kirby then nodded to Pikachu, who would also help Kirby’s cause.
“Me too,” said Pikachu, going behind Fox. The two parties went their separate ways, and left the rest still standing there with the lists.
“I’m-a going to go fight him right now, and it’ll be easy,” said Mario. Then he looked at Luigi. “Right bro?”
“uhh…right,” said Luigi, not wanting to be chicken.
“I guess I’ll go too,” added in Yoshi, who was also in on Kirby’s plan. The three then headed back upstrairs.
Olimar, Ike, Toon Link, and Lucas were left standing there. They all stood speechless, surprised that everyone went off.
“well…,” started Olimar. “I guess we should get started on the list.” And they went to find the first item.
That’s when the attack happened.

CHAPTER 41: THE UNFORTUNATE BOY

Lucas, Ike, Olimar, and Toon Link were looking for the items on the list when they were attacked. Marth, Roy, Ness, and ROB appeared at the end of the hallway, all still hypnotized.
“R…run!” yelled Lucas, and the 4 ran to a storage room at the facility. When they got there, they shut the doors, and tried to think of a plan.
“Maybe if we split up, we’ll lose them,” suggested Toon Link. Just then, the door broke down, and the 4 came through.
“Run!’ yelled Toon Link. He, Olimar, and Ike went off in separate directions, and Lucas followed Ike, afraid to be alone.
“Ike, can I…” Lucas asked as they were running.
“How many of them are behind us?” asked Ike.
“Two of them.”
“Then why are we running?”
“What?”
“We should attack, we can take them.”
“No…we should wait for more…”
“I’m done waiting.” Then, Ike stopped running, and after a few more steps Lucas did too. They faced Marth and Ness. Marth rushed at Ike and used his dancing blade, as Ness charged up a PK flash. Although Lucas knew he should stay, he turned and ran, yelling, “RUN!” Marth pulled out the laser gun, and shot at Ike. Ness shook his head. He, as his real self, heard and saw Lucas running away.
“Let’s go back to the boss,” Ness said, half good and half bad. He turned completely evil again when Ike said, “ok.” The 3 then headed off into subspace.
Falco, Game and Watch, Jigglypuff, and Kirby were running.
“Hurry up Game and Watch, they’ll be around the corner soon,” yelled Falco, as he led the group running away from Samus, Meta Knight, Sonic, and Young Link.
“What does it matter?” asked Game and Watch. “Nothing bad can happen to us heroes. I could just stand here and be fine.” He then stopped running, and put his back to the wall, making him flat against it. The other 3 kept running. Then, he saw Samus, Meta Knight, and Young Link. After they disappeared, Game and Watch stepped away from the wall.
“You see?” he said aloud. “We’re the heroes. Nothing can go wrong.” Then he felt something in his back. “As long as Taboo is our leader, nothing can go wrong.” Then he and Sonic went back into subspace.
Lucas walked through a dark corridor, and saw an unidentifiable figure at the other end.
“Who’s there?” he asked, scared.

CHAPTER 42: THE MARSHMELLOW

Falco, Jigglypuff, and Kirby continued running through the corridors, oblivious of what happened to Game and Watch. They had only heard something being said from far away, and couldn’t make out what it was. Meta Knight, Samus, and Young Link continued to follow them, getting closer and closer.
“This way,” said Kirby, and he led the 3 to an elevator. They got in, and none of the enemies could make it there in time. As they went down, they discussed strategy.
“What happened to game and watch?” asked Jigglypuff.
“I don’t know,” replied Kirby.
“And I don’t care, as long as we get the smashballs we should win,” said Falco.
“You know, saving people’s lives is more important then winning,” said Jigglypuff.
“The smashballs should be to the right,” said Falco.
“No, they’re not.” Replied Kirby. “You’re wrong.”
“I’m never wrong,” replied Falco.
“YES YOU ARE!” said Kirby. “You’ll have to admit it sometime, or it’ll cost you something important. Now we have to go to the left when the elevator opens.” The elevator opened, and Falco headed to right, as Kirby and Jigglypuff went left. Not ten seconds after they left the elevator, the 3 enemies came out of a second elevator, and split up; Samus going right, and Meta Knight and Young Link going left.
Meta Knight and Young Link caught up quickly, and trapped Kirby and Jigglypuff in a large room full of crates.
“Under one of the crates is a hole to the next floor. If we find it, we could lose them,” said Kirby. “Look for it, I’ll hold them off.” Then Kirby ran towards the enemies. Jigglypuff tried to break boxes as quickly as she could, and after a minute found the hole. She looked to where Kirby had run off to, and then jumped down through the hole herself. She had seen 3 members of Taboo’s army: Meta Knight, Young Link, and Kirby.
“Who’s there?” asked a male voice, at the other end of the hallway.

CHAPTER 43: THE SEPARATED

Mario, Yoshi, and Luigi were on their way upstairs, to go fight Taboo.
“Why do you want to do this alone?” asked Yoshi.
“Because I’ve beaten enemies tons of times, and Taboo can’t have gotten that much better,” replied Mario. “I’m the main hero, the best! No one is better than me. Right bro?”
“y…yeah…right…,” replied Luigi.
“What about you Luigi?” asked Yoshi.
“I, umm, think that he’s a pushover too, he’s easy,” replied Luigi, sounding unsure. Yoshi looked at him questionably, when the enemies attacked.
Bowser, Peach, and Wario came into view, and Wario pulled out the laser gun. Mario walked up to Bowser non-chalantly and was burnt. Bowser was going to grab him, when Bowser flew into the air. Yoshi had turned into an egg and rolled at him, avoiding Mario.
“I told you he was no problem,” said Mario. This whole time, Luigi was trembling in a corner, throwing out a fireball every once in a while. But he was the one in most danger. Wario shot the laser gun, hoping to hit Luigi. But Yoshi had seen it first. Yoshi turned into an egg once more, and hit Luigi, sending him flying away, eventually landing in an elevator. Luigi’s nose hit a button, and he went down. Peach took out her own laser gun, and shot both Mario and Yoshi, turning them evil.
“After him,” commanded Peach. Wario then went to the elevator, and pressed a button to go to a lower floor. Meanwhile, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, and Mario went into subspace.
Snake had just revealed to Nana, Popo, and Pichu that he had no plans to attack taboo just then, and planned to escape on his own.
“That’s horrible!” said Pichu.
“Not really,” replied Snake. “It’s survival of the fittest. Or smartest. And trust me, some people here are really dumb. Like that penguin, and Jigglypuff.” Then, the army attacked. Everyone turned around, after hearing a cannon fire. DK was standing behind them, along with Diddy and Zelda.
“Snake, what do we do?” asked Pichu.
“Snake?” asked Popo. Snake was nowhere to be seen.
“What do we do now?” asked Nana.
“Run!” said Popo, and the 3 took off. At one point, Popo looked back, and only saw DK and Diddy chasing them. No one planned where they were going, but they eventually found their way to the elevators. They were running towards an elevator, which opened when they were at the other end of the hallway. Pichu, being faster, was ahead, and he jumped into the elevator, knocking into someone else. The 2 backed into a button and the elevator left before Popo and Nana could make it there.
“It’s gone,” said Nana desperately.
“We have to go,” said Popo, and he grabbed her hand and dragged her down another hallway. They came to a dead end, with a laundry chute and a garbage shoot built into the wall. Diddy began to shoot peanuts at them, and they began to panic.
“Lift me up,” said Popo. Nana helped him up to the laundry shoot, where he held onto the edge. He reached with one hand to pull her up, but was hit by one of Diddy’s peanuts. He let go of the edge, and fell down the chute.
Nana was left alone. Suddenly, she was grabbed from behind and lifted into the air. DK held her up, and Diddy, trying to help, shot another peanut. But this one hit DK. He turned around to glare at Diddy, and threw Nana. She fell down a chute.
“Sorry, I missed,” said Diddy. Then, he went down an elevator to find Pichu. DK looked around for Nana, but didn’t see her. Then, Zelda appeared.
“I need your help.” and the 2 left.
Popo walked a little bit away from where he fell from the laundry chute, and saw someone at the other end of the room.
“Who’s there?” he asked.
Nana landed at the bottom of the chute, and said,
“Ewww…garbage.” She brushed herself off, and walked away from the garbage. After some time walking around, she saw someone at the other end of the hall.
“Who’s there?” the person asked.

CHAPTER 44: THE SECOND HAND
King Dedede had been trying to convince Wolf to come back for a while, with no luck.
“Come on, everyone is depending on you,” said Dedede.
“Why should I care about them? What have they done for me?” asked Wolf. Then the army attacked. They started fighting for some time, but with not much success. Waves of primids continued to go after the 2.
“I’m outta here,” said Wolf, and he turned and ran in the other direction. Knowing he couldn’t fight off the primids on his own, he knocked away the closest ones and ran after Wolf. A blue laser gun was shot, and Dedede’s eyes changed color once more. He walked over to Ganondorf and Link. Ganondorf instructed Link to take Dedede back to subspace, and he would follow Wolf.
Pichu turned around and saw Popo and Nana rushing at the elevator as the door closed. He got up and went to push the, person next to him stopped him.
“Don’t bother, it won’t work,” he said. Pichu tried the button, and it in fact did not work.
“Is there any way we can save them?” asked Pichu, about Popo and Nana.
“I don’t know. I can’t get this to stop either for some reason.”
“Do you think we can beat them Luigi?” asked Pichu.
“I hope we get all the good people back,” said Luigi. “Then maybe we can do it.”
“Well, we’re plenty strong enough,” said Pichu, sounding unsure.
“We’re stopping,” said Luigi. The elevator door then opened, and another hero jumped in and hit a button to go up. They then felt the elevator go down.
“What’s wrong with this elevator?” asked Toon Link.
“I don’t know,” said Luigi. It won’t do what we want it to either.”
“Who was following you?” asked Toon Link. “Roy was after me.”
“Diddy and DK,” replied Pichu.
“Wario and Bowser and Peach,” replied Luigi.
“Well, maybe we can find one of the secret rooms in this place,” said Toon Link. “When we get out of the elevator, I’ll go right to distract them, and you 2 go to the left and look for it.
“Shouldn’t I distract them I’m faster,” replied Pichu.
“That means you could come back to get me more quickly,” replied Toon Link. Then the door opened. Luigi and Pichu ran left, and soon turned around the nearest corner. Toon Link ran right, and as he was running in front of the second elevator doors, and as they opened, Roy shot the laser gun. After pointing Diddy and Wario in the right direction, Toon Link went into subspace with Roy.
A secret panel was supposed to open and lead to another room, but neither Luigi nor Pichu could find it. Luigi frantically ran at the walls, and punched them like he did with his running A attack. Finally, he found the door, it opened and Luigi looked back. That was when he saw Pichu be shot by the blue laser gun, and turned into an enemy. Luigi ran through the doorway and shut it, so no one would see him.
“Let’s go back to subspace,” said Wario. “We’re all set here.” And so they went.

CHAPTER 45: THE WEAK

Olimar was still running from when some enemies attacked his party. He was terrified, of what could happen to him, so he just kept running. After turning a corner he was hit by a pyro, and was knocked down. R.O.B. came after him, and Olimar realized that there was no way to outrun R.O.B. He plucked pikmin out of the ground, and threw them at R.O.B. and they started trying to bite him like they did during the emissary. But R.O.B. had been storing power. He shot the laser out of his eyes, and hit Olimar, sending him flying to the end of the hall. After shaking off the pikmin, he took out the laser gun, and soon enough, the 2 of them went back into subspace.
Fox, Red, and Pikachu were out looking for the smashballs, hoping to prove Falco wrong.
“Come on we have to work together,” urged Pikachu.
“What does it matter, we’ll have plenty of time,” said Fox. “And we have tons of weapons here. We’ll be able to hold them off.”
“No, we have to make sure we get everyone back together,” said Pikachu.
“Look,” said Fox, turning around. “I can handle it. We have more then enough supplies, and I’ve piloted many fights before. We’ll win.” Just then, Red’s cell phone rang.
“I’ve…got to take this,” said Red, and he went into an adjacent room, and started talking.
Red started to talk, “Yeah…hey! This isn’t a great time…Stadium 3 is up?... doubles tournament? Yeah sure. Look I’ve got to go…you miss me?...well, yeah I know was friends. Ummm…see ya then?...dang its hot here.” Then the army attacked.
Red was talking in the other room, when Pit, Lucario, and Captain Falcon appeared.
“This way!” said Fox, grabbing Pikachu and running to where he thought the smashballs were.
“What about Red?” asked Pikachu.
“He’ll be fine, and we can beat them with the smash balls,” replied Fox. Pit and Captain Falcon followed, but Lucario stayed behind. Red then came out of the room.
“Guys?” he asked. Then he saw Lucario, evil. “Go!...Ivysaur!”
Ivysaur came out of his pokeball, and got ready to fight. But as it raised its vines, Lucario took out his blue laser gun and shot the pokemon. The 2 then turned against Red.
“Charizard, Squirtle, GO!” Red threw out their pokeballs. Charizard breathed fire at Ivysaur while Squirtle attacked Lucario. But Lucario knocked away squirtle, and shot Charizard with the laser gun. Squirtle saw that he was hopelessly outnumbered and looked at Red. He nodded his head in the direction of another hallway, and used waterfall on the 3 enemies who were close together. With their vision obscured, Red understood what Squirtle meant.
Red turned away from Lucario and ran, after losing all of his pokemon. He bolted downstairs and never looked back. He needn’t have, since Lucario did not follow.
“Come back to subspace, alone he is worth less,” said Taboo. Since he was under Taboo’s control, Lucario went against his instincts and left.
Red entered a room and met another character. After a conversation, they both sat down on a couch and waited, and soon hearing footsteps coming towards them.

CHAPTER 46: THE ANIMAL
As Zelda, DK, and Diddy appeared, the Ice Climbers and Pichu looked over at them. Snake crept away quietly, and ran down the next hallway.
“Losers, they’ll never survive on their own,” said Snake, as he kept walking away. He kept walking toward where he thought was the exit. As he was about to round a corner, 4 needles stuck themselves in the wall behind, barely missing Snake. He turned to see Shiek, taking out her whip. He threw a grenade, hoping to get her caught in the explosion, but she dodged it, and he was caught by her whip. She tied up his hands and feet, as he said.
“Worthless heroes,” Snake said, as DK came around the corned with a laser gun. He shot, and soon, the 3 went back into subspace.
Captain Falcon and Pit were chasing Fox and Pikachu when Pikachu finally broke free of Fox’s hold.
“We’ve got to go back and find Red,” said Pikachu.
“Fine, you go,” replied Fox. So after they rounded a corner, Pikachu went into a room, so he would not be seen. After a minute, he went back out the room and towards where they had left Red. But an arrow was shot, Pikachu was hit in the back, and Pikachu and Pit went back into subspace.
Fox continued running to where he believed the smash balls were. Captain Falcon was right on his tail though. At this rate, Falcon would catch up with him too soon.
“Falco can do it, why can’t I?” asked Fox, and he threw his reflector back at falcon. But the rope it was on snapped, and the reflector fell to the ground.
“Ah well, I’ll get another later.” And he kept running.
“What happened to Dedede?” asked Wolf to himself, walking around the corridors alone. He went to look for the exit, when Ganondorf came up behind him.
“It’s time to fight,” said Ganondorf. In response, Wolf shot his blaster.
“C’mon, gotta make it! I gotta be right!” said Falco to himself, as he was being chased by Samus. He turned around a corner and saw the room he was looking for.
“Yes!” yelled Falco out loud, and went to open the door.
Fox kept running towards the room where he thought the smashballs were. As he got closer, so did Falcon.
“My shots won’t stop him…but this will,” and with that, Fox threw the blaster at Falcon. But Falcon dodged it, and was closer then ever.
Ganondorf was hit by the blaster shot, and Wolf ran in the other direction. All he wanted to do was get out alive and not captured. He ran to an intersection with one hallway going up, one down.
Fox opened the door to his room, and saw…nothing. There were no smashballs. So he had to duel with Captain Falcon. Quickly, Falcon kicked him to the other side of the room. Then, Falcon took out the ray gun.
“Maybe my reflector can shoot it back at him and make him good,” Fox said to himself. But when he reached for his reflector, it wasn’t there. Falcon and Fox both went into subspace.
Falco opened the door to the room where he thought the smashballs were. He opened the door and looked inside.
“I was…wrong?” Falco and Samus then went back to subspace.
Wolf used his Wolf illusion and went up the top corridor. Assuming that he had gone done like Fox or Falco would have, Ganondorf went down. After eventually giving up, he went back to subspace.
After walking around for some time, Wolf found one of the secret rooms, and found Red who invited him to sit down.
“You’re safe too?” asked Red. “Did you come here to look for everyone else?”
“Ummm…yeah. Do you know who would have a map?” asked Wolf.
“Maybe someone else. But they said in an emergency, come to this room. So I guess all we could do is wait.”

CHAPTER 47: THE SITUATION
Lucas called out, “Who’s there?” to the figure at the other end of the hallway. There was something a little odd though. He smelled…garbage.
“Lucas?” asked the other person at the end of the hallway. She ran up to him.
“Nana! What are you going here?” Lucas asked.
“I was trying to escape…and helped Popo out of the chute…and then I was thrown into the other…I miss him” replied Nana, scared.
“It’s ok, we’ll find him.”
“But, where?”
“Remember they told us that we should meet in secret rooms downstairs? He might go there.”
“ok…where is it?”
“I think it’s this way.” Lucas and Nana walked on for some time, with not much to say. Of course, Lucas told Nana what had happened to him.
“Do you think we can still beat Taboo?” asked Nana.
“Well, yeah. I’m sure we can,” replied Lucas. He did not really believe they could, but he had to sound strong. This was one of the times where he couldn’t let his feelings get the better of him.
They found a secret room, and walked in. They then saw 2 heroes sitting on a couch.

“Who’s there?” asked Popo, seeing another figure at the end of the hallway.
“Jiggly!” replied Jigglypuff, who ran to Popo.
“I was hoping you were Nana,” said Popo, sad.
“She’s still ok?” asked Jigglypuff, slightly insulted that he didn’t even say hi.
“yeah…I think,” replied Popo.
“Well, we can go look for her,” said Jigglypuff. “We should go look in one of the secret rooms.” They walked then, and when they entered…sat on a couch and waited.

Luigi had just gotten away from some enemies and walking into a secret room.
“Hello?” he asked. And saw Popo and Jigglypuff, sitting on a couch.
“You’re safe too!” said Jigglypuff.

Lucas and Nana walked into a secret room and found 2 people sitting on a couch.
“You 2 are safe!” said Lucas seeing, Red and Wolf.
“We should start training if we’re going to save everyone, right?” asked Lucas.
“I guess so,” said Red. “I really need to be able to fight for myself.”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa. Who made you leader?” asked Wolf.
“Fine,” replied Red. “We’ll have a vote.”
“All in favor of me as leader,” said Wolf. Only he raised his hand.
“All in favor of Lucas,” said Red. He and Nana raised their hands. “Then it’s settled. Lucas leads us.”
“Well…ummm…let’s get training,” said Lucas, nervous but excited. And so they began to train. Lucas had Red go through all sorts of exercises, and taught him strategies of fighting.
“We don’t have much time to get you strong…but here are some things you can do,” said Lucas, and he continued to explain.
“Those ideas are really good,” said Red. “But I already know how to fight.”
“But with pokemon, not yourself,” replied Lucas.
“You sound like you should be a pretty good fighter,” said Nana.
“Yeah…” said Lucas. “But guys, why did you two vote for me? He would probably be a better leader.” They looked at Wolf, who was sitting on a couch, doing nothing.
“I thought you would make a good leader,” replied Red.
“Me too,” said Nana.
“You would have been better then me, too, Red. You always lead your pokemon.”
“For some reason, I don’t know why, I think you’d be the best leader. I trust you,” replied Red.
“Me too,” said Nana
“So what do we need to help you with?” asked Lucas.
“I don’t know,” replied Nana. “I don’t really like being away from Popo, but I think I’m starting to get over him...I mean that.”
“So what about you Lucas?” asked Red. “What do you have to train in?”
“I don’t know,” replied Lucas. “I can use my powers pretty well, but whenever I get ready to fight…I just get scared and can’t.”
“Well, there’s no real way to practice that…” said Red.
“Unless I look at Wolf,” whispered Lucas, looking at Wolf sitting on the couch. Nana and Red laughed.
“You’re funny,” said Nana.
“What’d he say?” asked Wolf, not having heard what they were talking about.
“Nothing,” replied Lucas. “but now I think it’s time to go look for other heroes. And turn them back to good.”

“Let’s get ready to find everyone,” said Jigglypuff.
“But I’m only a good fighter with Nana,” said Popo.
“and…we can’t…not alone…” stammered Luigi.
“Fine,” said Jigglypuff. “Luigi, there’s not much we can do about you always being scared except have you learn to fight. And Popo, you can fight on your own, you just need to get used to it. We should train.” And after some time, the 3 were feeling better about themselves.
“Looks like we’re all set,” said Jigglypuff.

“Six of them have escaped,” said Ganondorf. “Lucas, Luigi, Jigglypuff, Wolf, the Ice Climbers and Red.”
“Wait,” replied Tabuu, worried. “Both Ice Climbers?”
“Yes.”
“This isn’t good. The prophecy…Everyone, listen. I need some of you to take these to where only you would find them, or your enemy would. Then, all of you, clone yourselves with the shadow bug.”
“Why are you doing this?” asked Ganondorf.
“To give myself a chance,” replied Tabuu.

CHAPTER 48: THE DESERTER
“So, where do we want to look first?” asked Lucas.
“Wait…you have maps?” asked Wolf.
“Yeah…there were some in the room. Maybe…Red, you go with Wolf to the east, I’ll go with Nana to the west?”
“Ok,” replied Nana, smiling.
“Aww, why do I have to go with him?” asked Red and Wolf at the same time.
“Because,” replied Lucas, “It’s better to go in pairs.”
“Hold on…I found these that might help,” said Red. He gave one deku nut to each person there.
“ok…we’ll meet back here in an hour?” asked Lucas. Everyone agreed and so they split.
Lucas and Nana were walking along a corridor, when an arrow flew right past their faces.
“What was that?” asked Nana, grabbing Lucas.
“Looked like an arrow I think,” replied Lucas, holding back his fear. They turned around to see the archer.

“So, are we ready to go out and look for people?” asked Jigglypuff.
“I…I probably won’t be much of a fighter alone,” replied Popo, not wanting to go out.
“Ok then, I’ll stay and train with you, Luigi can go out,” replied Jigglypuff.
“What?” Luigi said, shocked.
“You can do it,” encouraged Jigglypuff. “And it’ll help you be less scared.”
“o…ok,” said Luigi, and, trying to be brave, left.

Lucas and Nana posed to fight against…Young Link.
“PK Fire!” yelled Lucas as Young Link launched an arrow. “Use your ice attack!” said Lucas. But Nana was too scared to move. Young Link took out his boomerang and threw it.
“Come on!” said Lucas, who was trying to distract Young Link so Nana could attack.
“I can’t without Popo, he always knows what to do and his attacks are stronger and mine are stronger with him,” replied Nana, thinking up excuses. Young Link shot an arrow at Lucas, and it grazed his arm. He fell to the ground, and Nana ran over to him. Young Link threw a bomb, which threw Lucas and Nana in opposite directions.
Lucas got up, terrified, and thought of running. ‘There’s not way I can win this,’ he thought. He got up and was about to run, when he saw Nana as the smoke cleared. He knew that he couldn’t go this time, she needed him.
So as Young Link took out the laser gun, Lucas threw the deku nut. The laser gun disappeared as it fell, and Young Link’s eyes seemed a bit less blue.
“Throw it!” said Lucas, and she did. After it hit, his eyes were even less blue. After being hit the second time, he dropped his ocarina. Lucas ran over and started playing it.
“Saria…,” was Young Link’s first word after being returned to normal. “What happened?” Lucas and Nana explained everything they knew.
“Then we better get back to the room,” said Young Link, and he started to walk there.
“Wait,” said Nana. “Can we have a minute?” Young Link nodded and left, and Lucas stayed behind.
“What’s wrong?”
“I…I didn’t do anything. I should have helped more.”
“That’s ok, everything turned out fine.”
“No it’s not…you shouldn’t have had to save me. I guess I just can’t fight alone.” Nana then started crying.
“Yes you can,” said Lucas, giving her a hug. “It’s ok, don’t worry. Everything will be fine, I promise. We’ll find Popo.” They stood there for another minute, and then caught up to Young Link.

“So where do you think Popo is?” asked Red.
“I don’t know,” replied Wolf, fake thoughtfully. “Let me se the map.” Red handed over the map, and Wolf pulled out his deku nut as he took the map.
“Sucker,” said Wolf, as he threw the deku nut at Red. Red was stunned, and Wolf took this opportunity to grab Red’s deku nut and run away. “I’m outta here.”

CHAPTER 49: THE REVIVAL
Red walked back to the room. He couldn’t believe that Wolf had run away. Well, actually, he could. But he headed back to the room when he met the other three, and waited for them to return.
“I’d never be able to catch him…I wonder where he went?” wondered Red.

“So right now it’s just you two, Red, Wolf, and me?” asked Young Link.
“Yep,” replied Lucas. “That’s all of us.”
“And Popo. He’s still out there somewhere too,” added Nana.
“Oh yeah. Popo,” said Lucas.
“So where are we meeting?” asked Young Link.
“It’s one of the secret rooms…right here,” said Lucas, and the 3 came into the room.
“Hi guys,” said red, sitting on the couch alone.
“Where’s Wolf?” asked Young Link, making himself at home.
“He…ran off,” replied Red.
“What?!?” asked Lucas.
“Yeah…he stunned me and took the map and left,” said Red.

“Oh boy,” said Luigi, walking around alone. Luigi had been out for some time, and not found anyone. He was kind of happy about that though, he didn’t want to meet any of the enemies. He wanted to just go out for a good amount of time and then come back and wait for someone else to do the saving. He got unlucky though, because on the way back, he met a familiar face.
“Yoshi Yoshi!” said Yoshi, rolling towards Luigi. He turned around to run, but Yoshi knocked him over. Lying on the ground, Luigi realized that there was no way for him to run away, yoshi was too fast. But what he could do was fight, or give up.
“Someone will save me,” he said out loud, and Yoshi broke out of his egg. His eyes were a little less blue after hearing a voice he recognized. “Never be able to win…but…someone always…saves me…” By now, Yoshi had been completely revived.
‘Wait…I guess since I heard Luigi talking so much…I remembered…’ thought Yoshi. But he knew that there was something else he had to do. He hit Luigi into the air, and ran at him, eyes closed. As Luigi saw Yoshi coming he made a poor attempt to attack, but it sent Yoshi flying away anyways.
“Hey…maybe I can be a good fighter,” Luigi said to himself, and Yoshi came back, revealing himself as being good.
“You saved me!” Yoshi said.

Wolf was following the map, on his way out of the building.
“I wonder if anyone else made it out…I’m sure Snake would have tried. He’s one of the smart ones…Maybe…it would give me leverage over Fox and Falco. But I’d rather be alive.”

CHAPTER 50: THE ACE RETURNS
“You’re back!” said Jigglypuff, as Luigi entered the room with Yoshi.
“Yeah, he saved me,” replied Yoshi.
“Yeah…now when do we go out to find everyone else?” asked Luigi.
“Well…we can go in a minute or two,” replied Jigglypuff. “We’re done with training and you seem ready. So me and Popo will head one way, you two go a different way. That way, we can cover more ground. And who knows. We might find Nana.” Luigi went over to talk to Popo, and Jigglypuff confronted Yoshi.
“Why is he so confident?” asked Jigglypuff. “What happened to him?”
“Well, he beat me in a fight,” replied Yoshi.
“Or at least thinks he did…?”
“Yeah, I was already good but I didn’t let him know that. It’s better that he’s confident, he has potential if he doesn’t doubt himself.”

“We better look for him then,” said Lucas.
“Why?” asked Red. “What has he done for us?”
“He can help us fight. And I don’t want him to get captured.”
“Ok then. But which way?” They decided to stick together and go around the whole building.
“Wait, what’s this?” asked nana. She had found a music box.
“Doesn’t sound help bring people back?” asked Young Link.
“Yeah,” replied Lucas. “This should help.” They then left.
“Last I knew, he was probably headed towards the exit, so if we follow this path…” started Red, but he stopped when he saw another former hero. Pit shot an arrow towards the group, and all of them dodged it.
“Surround him!” yelled Lucas, and he, Young Link, and Red did that. “Get the box!” Lucas added, and Nana took out the music box and searched for the right song.
Pit shot an arrow out at Red, who dodged as Lucas shot a fire bolt. But Pit quickly turned and used his mirror shield to reflect it, which Lucas used to heal. Young Link rushed at him with his sword, but Pit slashed him away. As he was about to shoot Young Link, Nana found the right song. Pit stopped, and after listening for a minute, he was back to normal.
“What happened to me?” asked Pit. Lucas told him what happened. “Wait…so you 3 were never captured…Wolf left…and Popo was ok. (To himself) who were the other two. And wait… (To all) we need to find Wolf! Make sure he does not leave the building.
“Why do we need him?” asked Red.
“(To self) I probably shouldn’t tell them about the prophecy, then it might not come true. (To all) Just so Tabuu doesn’t have an easier chance at capturing him,” replied Pit.
“Maybe we should go back to the room, see if he’s back,” suggested Nana. They went back, and found no one.

CHAPTER 38: THE INNOCENT CAPTURED

The characters set off in groups to find the items they needed. Pit went with Marth alone, hoping they could talk about the prophecy.
“So if it’s not us,” said Marth, “who do you think it is?”
“Yeah. Not to be arrogant, but I think were both pretty strong in character.”
“I don’t know. Maybe…you know.”
“Definitely. He was a pretty obvious…hey!” yelled Pit, as Wario drove by on his motorcycle, followed by Meta Knight, Roy and Ness.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to hit the wimpy angel and the girly man,” Wario called back.
“That’s it we’re chasing him!” yelled Marth, as Pit shot an arrow. It missed, and so the chase ensued.
“Maybe we should split up and walk around the building to uhh…check the perimeter or something,” suggested Peach. She was terrified of being out there all alone, but it would probably help more to split up.
“O…k…” said Luigi, and they walked off in two different directions. He was also terrified, but tried not to show it. As he walked around the side of the facility, he came face to face with an old friend. DK. The monkey grabbed Luigi, flung him away, and then ran after the man in green. Instead of fighting, Luigi ran to where he was planning on meeting Peach, who came running at him just as fast.
“Ganondorf…almost got me...” she said, as they both prepared to fight. But neither enemy could be seen.
“May…maybe we should radio in…” Luigi started.
“for help yeah,” finished Peach. They called in to Mewtwo, via their 2 way radio.
“Help? How many people?” asked Mewtwo.
“I can go!” said Sonic, and he ran out of the door.
Mewtwo started, “Sonic’s on his…”
“He’s here,” said Peach. The 3 got ready to fight.
As Pit and the others were running, he got a call on his radio.
“Pit, it’s Mewtwo. We could use you and your arrows outside, there are some enemies.” (He then told Pit what happened to Luigi and Peach).
“I’m trying to get Wario right now. And wait, they let Peach and Luigi go? That’s…wait, it’s a …” Pit was cut off, because Wario had turned around quickly, got past the other 4 heroes, and took the radio. He placed the radio behind him on the motorcycle and then farted, sending him forward ever faster.
“What did he do to that thing?” asked Roy, as pieces of what used to be the radio fell to the ground.
But Wario seem to have run out of luck, as the five cornered Wario, or at least thought they did.
“Welcome back,” said Pit, as he launched his arrow.
“That’s what you think!” said Wario, and a portal appeared in front of Wario, which made the arrow go into subspace. A portal then opened behind the heroes, and the arrow hit Ness, whose eyes turned the blue color. Ness then ran into subspace through a portal, and Roy went in after him, hoping to get him back. The portal closed, right was Meta Knight was about to go through to stop them.
“Where’s Wario?” asked Pit. The enemy had disappeared. But a portal opened behind the three, and Wario pulled Meta Knight through. Before Pit or Marth could react, the portal closed, and they were left alone.
“We have to go tell everyone,” said Marth, and Pit agreed. The two ran through the maze of corridors, but could not find the way back. They decided to split up, hoping to find the others.
So as Pit ran, he thought he heard voices of the other heroes. He tried gliding, but after he was in the air a portal opened. Before he could stop himself, he flew into the portal, and came face to face with someone he recognized.
“Hello, Pit,” said the evil Marth. A second later Pit was hit from behind. Taboo now had 5 new members of his army.

CHAPTER 39: THE COUPLES PROTECT

Luigi, Peach, and Sonic stood in front of the building, posed to fight. They waited there. And waited. And waited. None of the enemies appeared though. It seemed like they had just gone.
“What do you think happened to them?” asked Luigi.
“I…I don’t know. They should have been here right after us,” said Peach, not sure of the enemy’s plan either.
“Ehh, we must have scared them off,” replied Sonic. “Let’s call in that we’re safe.”
“What are we waiting for now?” asked Bowser, looking at Peach, Luigi and Sonic in the distance.
“Our new recruits…and for them to take out their radio,” replied Ganondorf. Then, the newly evil characters came through a portal. “Get your bow out,” he ordered Pit.
“Hello?” Mewtwo answered the radio.
“Yeah, we don’t see anyone here anymore,” said Sonic. “I might as well stay out here, just in case anyone comes back. Maybe we could get Pit here, so that he can…”
“What’s that arrow?” asked Peach, as an arrow flew at Sonic. He noticed just in time, and moved away, dropping the radio. Another arrow was shot and the radio was destroyed.
“Guys! Guys what happened?” Mewtwo asked into the radio. But he could not be heard. “ROB, Link; go outside and see what’s going on.” The two then left. Mewtwo went back to working on the portal, and the only other people in the room were Zelda, Samus, Snake, and Falcon.
“I…better go to the bathroom,” said Zelda, and she got up to head toward the door.
“No you don’t,” said Snake. “We videogame characters never have to go unless it’s convenient to the story.”
“Right…” said Zelda as she left the room.
ROB and Link walked through the corridors to the exit.
“I hope everything works out ok,” said ROB.
“Yeah,” replied Link.
“Does it always feel like this? Being afraid of what could happen, but confident you’re doing the right thing?”
“Yeah, that’s pretty much how a hero always feels.”
“Link!” Zelda ran up to the two, panting. “I’m gonna help you outside.”
“Umm…” said Link, looking at ROB.
“I’ll go ahead.” ROB then moved toward the exit a little faster.
“I have a bad feeling about going out there,” said Zelda.
“That’s ok, things will end up ok.”
“But what if one of us dies?”
“Don’t worry, we won’t,” said Link, hugging her. The group then walked out of the building.
Outside, they met something they feared. Ganondorf, Bowser, and Wario were standing, ready to fight Sonic, Peach, and Luigi.
“Guys!” yelled Link, as the three ran out.
“We have them outnumbered, we will win,” said ROB.
“That’s what you think!” yelled Wario, as Marth, Diddy, Ness, and Meta Knight appeared.
“We’ll hold them off,” said Zelda, to Luigi. “Go get more help.” So Luigi ran into the building to go find more heroes. He made his way back to the room with Mewtwo, Samus, Snake, and Falcon.
“They…need…help,” Luigi gasped, out of breath. He laid down on the couch, and Samus got up.
“I’ll go,” she said, then left. One of the people in the room looked concerned, who then got up and left after Samus. She had brought a smash ball with her, so she could use her final smash.
Outside, the battle seemed to be getting nowhere. The heroes would try to attack, but Ness or Marth would jump in front of the attack and heal or counter. The evil ones weren’t scratch less though, and it seemed to look better when Samus came out. She got ready to use her final smash.
“Falcon…CHARGE!” she yelled, and used the Zero laser. The enemies were sent flying away, as Captain Falcon ran out of the building.
“You’re ok!” Falcon said, running up to Samus. They hugged, and Peach and Zelda said, “Awwwww.” But those weren’t the only enemies. Young Link, Pit, DK, and Roy shot the blue laser guns, and it was over for those heroes.
“Good,” said Taboo. “You lured a good number of them out and caught them. Perfect.”

CHAPTER 40: THE SPLIT

“So they’re all gone?” asked Mewtwo, hearing the story of the ones who were captured most recently.
“Yeah, I saw it all,” said Yoshi, who was telling the story to everyone. “It all happened when I was watching it out of the window. I was going to come down to help when Samus came, and I figured that they had won. But then they were shot at and hit, so they turned evil. Then everyone walked through a portal, and were gone.” Almost everyone else seemed shocked at the story; a few were thinking other things. ‘I’m not gonna tell them that before they left, Peach looked right at me and said, “You’ll be next.” That would be kinda creepy. But I gotta watch out.’
“Then it’s a good thing I’m almost done with the machine,” replied Mewtwo. He was definitely worried, but more confident now that their plan was almost complete. “Everyone prepare to fight. I should have the machine done by the morning. It also might be a good idea to find some smash balls so we can use them in the battle.” Everyone went off to do their own thing, with some discussing what happened.
“I was almost caught…,”Luigi said, stunned.
“They took Peach…again!” Mario exclaimed, ignoring his brother. “Now we’ve really got to crush them.”
“I was almost caught…,”Luigi said again, stunned. “I can’t believe it…Usually bad things happen to me.”
“Well, then you must have work to do,” said Game and Watch, coming up to the two brothers. “Everything happens for a reason.” The two brothers then stared at Game and Watch, slightly confused.
“We should probably come up with some battle plan,” suggested Red. “What we need to do is make sure we attack from all sides, so he doesn’t know where to attack back.”
“Don’t forget to pick on his weakness,” piped up Pikachu.
“Yeah…we should approach from two sides…that way we’ll surround him after taking out the other enemies in our way,” suggested Ike.
“We should see if there are any Dragoon pieces or something, that way we have a big attack.” The group broke up to look for Dragoon pieces, but Kirby stopped Red.
“Are you mad that…well, it was Falcon?” asked Kirby.
“Well…N…No, of course not,” replied Red. “I didn’t really…and there’s this girl back home I…I don’t know…I mean no. I’m not mad.”
“So, we just gotta attack like crazy, just like we did last time?” asked Dedede.
“Yep,” replied Fox.
“Pretty much,” agreed Falco.
“We’ll take him down easy…even though I would feel better with some better fighters,” said Snake, looking at some of the others, including the ice climbers, Yoshi, and Jigglypuff.
“Yeah, they took our good fighters last time,” agreed Wolf.
“Now pretty much everyone has been captured,” said Lucas, depressed.
“We’ll be ok, we still have half our members,’ replied Yoshi.
“How can you be so happy?” asked Popo.
“Aren’t you scared?” asked Nana.
“Well, yeah, of course I’m partly scared, but I can always hope things will turn out ok,” replied Yoshi.
“But it feels like I can’t do anything to help,” replied Jigglypuff. Pichu, Toon Link, Olimar, the Climbers, and Lucas all agreed.
“You’ll be able to help…I promise. Some of you more then others maybe, but you will all definitely all be able to help. I know you guys have the potential,” said Yoshi.
Later that night, Lucas was standing guard and Mewtwo was finishing up the machine. Mewtwo was in the room with the portal; Lucas in the room where everyone slept. He saw a bright flash of blue light, and Mewtwo yelled, “I’ve done it!” Lucas went to the portal room to see what it looked like…and was in for a surprise. Just as he came in the room, Mewtwo was pulled into the portal by Lucario, and enemies flooded into the room.
I can’t believe it Lucas thought. What would be the right thing to do…get everyone else, I can’t do this alone. So Lucas ran into the bedroom, and woke everyone up. He slammed the door behind him, hoping it would give them all extra time.
“Run! They’re attacking!” yelled Lucas, and he told them what happened as they ran to another part of the building. They ran into the basement, and locked the door behind them, taking a moment to rest.
“What do we do?” asked Lucas.
“I know I’m getting out of here,” said Wolf, turning around. “I’m not gonna wait and let myself be captured like an animal.”
“But what about everyone else?” asked Lucas.
“I couldn’t care less what happened to them,” replied Wolf, and he walked away.
“I’ll go talk to him, said Dedede, who followed.
“Why don’t you want to help?” asked Dedede, catching up with Wolf.
“What have any of them done for me?” asked Wolf.
“I could probably rig up something to turn them good again, or at least captured them,” said Snake. “Get me everything on this list.” He then turned to go down a hallway. “I’m gonna try to find a place to work on it.” He then left.
“We better go with him and come back to you guys and tell you where he ends up,” said Popo, and he, Nana, and Pichu went to follow. After some time he realized that he was being followed.
“What are you doing?” he asked.
“We wanted to follow so you would tell us where to bring the other people,” replied Pichu.
“Dumb a**es,” he said. “I have no plan for what to do next. I just gave out lists so that they would be kept busy while I escaped. We have no info on the enemy and they know our current position. It would be better to lay low for a while.”
“Well, this isn’t gonna do us much good,” said Falco. “I don’t know about you, but I’m getting some final smash balls and attacking. That’s how we can win.” He turned and went down a different hallway then the first 2 groups.
“They’re not that way, they’re this way,” said Fox, pointing down a 4th hallway.
“No they’re not, I’m always right,” replied Falco.
“NO YOU’RE NOT!!!” yelled everyone there.
“But this time I think Falco IS right,” said Kirby.
“Really?” asked Jigglypuff quietly, so only Kirby could hear.
“No, but we need to make sure everyone stays together somehow and maybe I can convince him to stay as part of the group,” replied Kirby.
“I’m going with him too,” said Jigglypuff, hoping she could help.
“Well I’m going to find them first,” said Fox. Red came up behind him.
“I guess I’ll go with you,” he said. Kirby then nodded to Pikachu, who would also help Kirby’s cause.
“Me too,” said Pikachu, going behind Fox. The two parties went their separate ways, and left the rest still standing there with the lists.
“I’m-a going to go fight him right now, and it’ll be easy,” said Mario. Then he looked at Luigi. “Right bro?”
“uhh…right,” said Luigi, not wanting to be chicken.
“I guess I’ll go too,” added in Yoshi, who was also in on Kirby’s plan. The three then headed back upstrairs.
Olimar, Ike, Toon Link, and Lucas were left standing there. They all stood speechless, surprised that everyone went off.
“well…,” started Olimar. “I guess we should get started on the list.” And they went to find the first item.
That’s when the attack happened.

CHAPTER 41: THE UNFORTUNATE BOY

Lucas, Ike, Olimar, and Toon Link were looking for the items on the list when they were attacked. Marth, Roy, Ness, and ROB appeared at the end of the hallway, all still hypnotized.
“R…run!” yelled Lucas, and the 4 ran to a storage room at the facility. When they got there, they shut the doors, and tried to think of a plan.
“Maybe if we split up, we’ll lose them,” suggested Toon Link. Just then, the door broke down, and the 4 came through.
“Run!’ yelled Toon Link. He, Olimar, and Ike went off in separate directions, and Lucas followed Ike, afraid to be alone.
“Ike, can I…” Lucas asked as they were running.
“How many of them are behind us?” asked Ike.
“Two of them.”
“Then why are we running?”
“What?”
“We should attack, we can take them.”
“No…we should wait for more…”
“I’m done waiting.” Then, Ike stopped running, and after a few more steps Lucas did too. They faced Marth and Ness. Marth rushed at Ike and used his dancing blade, as Ness charged up a PK flash. Although Lucas knew he should stay, he turned and ran, yelling, “RUN!” Marth pulled out the laser gun, and shot at Ike. Ness shook his head. He, as his real self, heard and saw Lucas running away.
“Let’s go back to the boss,” Ness said, half good and half bad. He turned completely evil again when Ike said, “ok.” The 3 then headed off into subspace.
Falco, Game and Watch, Jigglypuff, and Kirby were running.
“Hurry up Game and Watch, they’ll be around the corner soon,” yelled Falco, as he led the group running away from Samus, Meta Knight, Sonic, and Young Link.
“What does it matter?” asked Game and Watch. “Nothing bad can happen to us heroes. I could just stand here and be fine.” He then stopped running, and put his back to the wall, making him flat against it. The other 3 kept running. Then, he saw Samus, Meta Knight, and Young Link. After they disappeared, Game and Watch stepped away from the wall.
“You see?” he said aloud. “We’re the heroes. Nothing can go wrong.” Then he felt something in his back. “As long as Taboo is our leader, nothing can go wrong.” Then he and Sonic went back into subspace.
Lucas walked through a dark corridor, and saw an unidentifiable figure at the other end.
“Who’s there?” he asked, scared.

CHAPTER 42: THE MARSHMELLOW

Falco, Jigglypuff, and Kirby continued running through the corridors, oblivious of what happened to Game and Watch. They had only heard something being said from far away, and couldn’t make out what it was. Meta Knight, Samus, and Young Link continued to follow them, getting closer and closer.
“This way,” said Kirby, and he led the 3 to an elevator. They got in, and none of the enemies could make it there in time. As they went down, they discussed strategy.
“What happened to game and watch?” asked Jigglypuff.
“I don’t know,” replied Kirby.
“And I don’t care, as long as we get the smashballs we should win,” said Falco.
“You know, saving people’s lives is more important then winning,” said Jigglypuff.
“The smashballs should be to the right,” said Falco.
“No, they’re not.” Replied Kirby. “You’re wrong.”
“I’m never wrong,” replied Falco.
“YES YOU ARE!” said Kirby. “You’ll have to admit it sometime, or it’ll cost you something important. Now we have to go to the left when the elevator opens.” The elevator opened, and Falco headed to right, as Kirby and Jigglypuff went left. Not ten seconds after they left the elevator, the 3 enemies came out of a second elevator, and split up; Samus going right, and Meta Knight and Young Link going left.
Meta Knight and Young Link caught up quickly, and trapped Kirby and Jigglypuff in a large room full of crates.
“Under one of the crates is a hole to the next floor. If we find it, we could lose them,” said Kirby. “Look for it, I’ll hold them off.” Then Kirby ran towards the enemies. Jigglypuff tried to break boxes as quickly as she could, and after a minute found the hole. She looked to where Kirby had run off to, and then jumped down through the hole herself. She had seen 3 members of Taboo’s army: Meta Knight, Young Link, and Kirby.
“Who’s there?” asked a male voice, at the other end of the hallway.

CHAPTER 43: THE SEPARATED

Mario, Yoshi, and Luigi were on their way upstairs, to go fight Taboo.
“Why do you want to do this alone?” asked Yoshi.
“Because I’ve beaten enemies tons of times, and Taboo can’t have gotten that much better,” replied Mario. “I’m the main hero, the best! No one is better than me. Right bro?”
“y…yeah…right…,” replied Luigi.
“What about you Luigi?” asked Yoshi.
“I, umm, think that he’s a pushover too, he’s easy,” replied Luigi, sounding unsure. Yoshi looked at him questionably, when the enemies attacked.
Bowser, Peach, and Wario came into view, and Wario pulled out the laser gun. Mario walked up to Bowser non-chalantly and was burnt. Bowser was going to grab him, when Bowser flew into the air. Yoshi had turned into an egg and rolled at him, avoiding Mario.
“I told you he was no problem,” said Mario. This whole time, Luigi was trembling in a corner, throwing out a fireball every once in a while. But he was the one in most danger. Wario shot the laser gun, hoping to hit Luigi. But Yoshi had seen it first. Yoshi turned into an egg once more, and hit Luigi, sending him flying away, eventually landing in an elevator. Luigi’s nose hit a button, and he went down. Peach took out her own laser gun, and shot both Mario and Yoshi, turning them evil.
“After him,” commanded Peach. Wario then went to the elevator, and pressed a button to go to a lower floor. Meanwhile, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, and Mario went into subspace.
Snake had just revealed to Nana, Popo, and Pichu that he had no plans to attack taboo just then, and planned to escape on his own.
“That’s horrible!” said Pichu.
“Not really,” replied Snake. “It’s survival of the fittest. Or smartest. And trust me, some people here are really dumb. Like that penguin, and Jigglypuff.” Then, the army attacked. Everyone turned around, after hearing a cannon fire. DK was standing behind them, along with Diddy and Zelda.
“Snake, what do we do?” asked Pichu.
“Snake?” asked Popo. Snake was nowhere to be seen.
“What do we do now?” asked Nana.
“Run!” said Popo, and the 3 took off. At one point, Popo looked back, and only saw DK and Diddy chasing them. No one planned where they were going, but they eventually found their way to the elevators. They were running towards an elevator, which opened when they were at the other end of the hallway. Pichu, being faster, was ahead, and he jumped into the elevator, knocking into someone else. The 2 backed into a button and the elevator left before Popo and Nana could make it there.
“It’s gone,” said Nana desperately.
“We have to go,” said Popo, and he grabbed her hand and dragged her down another hallway. They came to a dead end, with a laundry chute and a garbage shoot built into the wall. Diddy began to shoot peanuts at them, and they began to panic.
“Lift me up,” said Popo. Nana helped him up to the laundry shoot, where he held onto the edge. He reached with one hand to pull her up, but was hit by one of Diddy’s peanuts. He let go of the edge, and fell down the chute.
Nana was left alone. Suddenly, she was grabbed from behind and lifted into the air. DK held her up, and Diddy, trying to help, shot another peanut. But this one hit DK. He turned around to glare at Diddy, and threw Nana. She fell down a chute.
“Sorry, I missed,” said Diddy. Then, he went down an elevator to find Pichu. DK looked around for Nana, but didn’t see her. Then, Zelda appeared.
“I need your help.” and the 2 left.
Popo walked a little bit away from where he fell from the laundry chute, and saw someone at the other end of the room.
“Who’s there?” he asked.
Nana landed at the bottom of the chute, and said,
“Ewww…garbage.” She brushed herself off, and walked away from the garbage. After some time walking around, she saw someone at the other end of the hall.
“Who’s there?” the person asked.

CHAPTER 44: THE SECOND HAND
King Dedede had been trying to convince Wolf to come back for a while, with no luck.
“Come on, everyone is depending on you,” said Dedede.
“Why should I care about them? What have they done for me?” asked Wolf. Then the army attacked. They started fighting for some time, but with not much success. Waves of primids continued to go after the 2.
“I’m outta here,” said Wolf, and he turned and ran in the other direction. Knowing he couldn’t fight off the primids on his own, he knocked away the closest ones and ran after Wolf. A blue laser gun was shot, and Dedede’s eyes changed color once more. He walked over to Ganondorf and Link. Ganondorf instructed Link to take Dedede back to subspace, and he would follow Wolf.
Pichu turned around and saw Popo and Nana rushing at the elevator as the door closed. He got up and went to push the, person next to him stopped him.
“Don’t bother, it won’t work,” he said. Pichu tried the button, and it in fact did not work.
“Is there any way we can save them?” asked Pichu, about Popo and Nana.
“I don’t know. I can’t get this to stop either for some reason.”
“Do you think we can beat them Luigi?” asked Pichu.
“I hope we get all the good people back,” said Luigi. “Then maybe we can do it.”
“Well, we’re plenty strong enough,” said Pichu, sounding unsure.
“We’re stopping,” said Luigi. The elevator door then opened, and another hero jumped in and hit a button to go up. They then felt the elevator go down.
“What’s wrong with this elevator?” asked Toon Link.
“I don’t know,” said Luigi. It won’t do what we want it to either.”
“Who was following you?” asked Toon Link. “Roy was after me.”
“Diddy and DK,” replied Pichu.
“Wario and Bowser and Peach,” replied Luigi.
“Well, maybe we can find one of the secret rooms in this place,” said Toon Link. “When we get out of the elevator, I’ll go right to distract them, and you 2 go to the left and look for it.
“Shouldn’t I distract them I’m faster,” replied Pichu.
“That means you could come back to get me more quickly,” replied Toon Link. Then the door opened. Luigi and Pichu ran left, and soon turned around the nearest corner. Toon Link ran right, and as he was running in front of the second elevator doors, and as they opened, Roy shot the laser gun. After pointing Diddy and Wario in the right direction, Toon Link went into subspace with Roy.
A secret panel was supposed to open and lead to another room, but neither Luigi nor Pichu could find it. Luigi frantically ran at the walls, and punched them like he did with his running A attack. Finally, he found the door, it opened and Luigi looked back. That was when he saw Pichu be shot by the blue laser gun, and turned into an enemy. Luigi ran through the doorway and shut it, so no one would see him.
“Let’s go back to subspace,” said Wario. “We’re all set here.” And so they went.
Luigi entered the room, and soon saw 2 heroes sitting on a couch.

CHAPTER 45: THE WEAK

Olimar was still running from when some enemies attacked his party. He was terrified, of what could happen to him, so he just kept running. After turning a corner he was hit by a pyro, and was knocked down. R.O.B. came after him, and Olimar realized that there was no way to outrun R.O.B. He plucked pikmin out of the ground, and threw them at R.O.B. and they started trying to bite him like they did during the emissary. But R.O.B. had been storing power. He shot the laser out of his eyes, and hit Olimar, sending him flying to the end of the hall. After shaking off the pikmin, he took out the laser gun, and soon enough, the 2 of them went back into subspace.
Fox, Red, and Pikachu were out looking for the smashballs, hoping to prove Falco wrong.
“Come on we have to work together,” urged Pikachu.
“What does it matter, we’ll have plenty of time,” said Fox. “And we have tons of weapons here. We’ll be able to hold them off.”
“No, we have to make sure we get everyone back together,” said Pikachu.
“Look,” said Fox, turning around. “I can handle it. We have more then enough supplies, and I’ve piloted many fights before. We’ll win.” Just then, Red’s cell phone rang.
“I’ve…got to take this,” said Red, and he went into an adjacent room, and started talking.
Red started to talk, “Yeah…hey! This isn’t a great time…Stadium 3 is up?... doubles tournament? Yeah sure. Look I’ve got to go…you miss me?...well, yeah I know was friends. Ummm…see ya then?...dang its hot here.” Then the army attacked.
Red was talking in the other room, when Pit, Lucario, and Captain Falcon appeared.
“This way!” said Fox, grabbing Pikachu and running to where he thought the smashballs were.
“What about Red?” asked Pikachu.
“He’ll be fine, and we can beat them with the smash balls,” replied Fox. Pit and Captain Falcon followed, but Lucario stayed behind. Red then came out of the room.
“Guys?” he asked. Then he saw Lucario, evil. “Go!...Ivysaur!”
Ivysaur came out of his pokeball, and got ready to fight. But as it raised its vines, Lucario took out his blue laser gun and shot the pokemon. The 2 then turned against Red.
“Charizard, Squirtle, GO!” Red threw out their pokeballs. Charizard breathed fire at Ivysaur while Squirtle attacked Lucario. But Lucario knocked away squirtle, and shot Charizard with the laser gun. Squirtle saw that he was hopelessly outnumbered and looked at Red. He nodded his head in the direction of another hallway, and used waterfall on the 3 enemies who were close together. With their vision obscured, Red understood what Squirtle meant.
Red turned away from Lucario and ran, after losing all of his pokemon. He bolted downstairs and never looked back. He needn’t have, since Lucario did not follow.
“Come back to subspace, alone he is worth less,” said Taboo. Since he was under Taboo’s control, Lucario went against his instincts and left.
Red entered a room and met another character. After a conversation, they both sat down on a couch and waited, and soon hearing footsteps coming towards them.

CHAPTER 46: THE ANIMAL
As Zelda, DK, and Diddy appeared, the Ice Climbers and Pichu looked over at them. Snake crept away quietly, and ran down the next hallway.
“Losers, they’ll never survive on their own,” said Snake, as he kept walking away. He kept walking toward where he thought was the exit. As he was about to round a corner, 4 needles stuck themselves in the wall behind, barely missing Snake. He turned to see Shiek, taking out her whip. He threw a grenade, hoping to get her caught in the explosion, but she dodged it, and he was caught by her whip. She tied up his hands and feet, as he said.
“Worthless heroes,” Snake said, as DK came around the corned with a laser gun. He shot, and soon, the 3 went back into subspace.
Captain Falcon and Pit were chasing Fox and Pikachu when Pikachu finally broke free of Fox’s hold.
“We’ve got to go back and find Red,” said Pikachu.
“Fine, you go,” replied Fox. So after they rounded a corner, Pikachu went into a room, so he would not be seen. After a minute, he went back out the room and towards where they had left Red. But an arrow was shot, Pikachu was hit in the back, and Pikachu and Pit went back into subspace.
Fox continued running to where he believed the smash balls were. Captain Falcon was right on his tail though. At this rate, Falcon would catch up with him too soon.
“Falco can do it, why can’t I?” asked Fox, and he threw his reflector back at falcon. But the rope it was on snapped, and the reflector fell to the ground.
“Ah well, I’ll get another later.” And he kept running.
“What happened to Dedede?” asked Wolf to himself, walking around the corridors alone. He went to look for the exit, when Ganondorf came up behind him.
“It’s time to fight,” said Ganondorf. In response, Wolf shot his blaster.
“C’mon, gotta make it! I gotta be right!” said Falco to himself, as he was being chased by Samus. He turned around a corner and saw the room he was looking for.
“Yes!” yelled Falco out loud, and went to open the door.
Fox kept running towards the room where he thought the smashballs were. As he got closer, so did Falcon.
“My shots won’t stop him…but this will,” and with that, Fox threw the blaster at Falcon. But Falcon dodged it, and was closer then ever.
Ganondorf was hit by the blaster shot, and Wolf ran in the other direction. All he wanted to do was get out alive and not captured. He ran to an intersection with one hallway going up, one down.
Fox opened the door to his room, and saw…nothing. There were no smashballs. So he had to duel with Captain Falcon. Quickly, Falcon kicked him to the other side of the room. Then, Falcon took out the ray gun.
“Maybe my reflector can shoot it back at him and make him good,” Fox said to himself. But when he reached for his reflector, it wasn’t there. Falcon and Fox both went into subspace.
Falco opened the door to the room where he thought the smashballs were. He opened the door and looked inside.
“I was…wrong?” Falco and Samus then went back to subspace.
Wolf used his Wolf illusion and went up the top corridor. Assuming that he had gone done like Fox or Falco would have, Ganondorf went down. After eventually giving up, he went back to subspace.
After walking around for some time, Wolf found one of the secret rooms, and found Red who invited him to sit down.
“You’re safe too?” asked Red. “Did you come here to look for everyone else?”
“Ummm…yeah. Do you know who would have a map?” asked Wolf.
“Maybe someone else. But they said in an emergency, come to this room. So I guess all we could do is wait.”

CHAPTER 47: THE SITUATION
Lucas called out, “Who’s there?” to the figure at the other end of the hallway. There was something a little odd though. He smelled…garbage.
“Lucas?” asked the other person at the end of the hallway. She ran up to him.
“Nana! What are you going here?” Lucas asked.
“I was trying to escape…and helped Popo out of the chute…and then I was thrown into the other…I miss him” replied Nana, scared.
“It’s ok, we’ll find him.”
“But, where?”
“Remember they told us that we should meet in secret rooms downstairs? He might go there.”
“ok…where is it?”
“I think it’s this way.” Lucas and Nana walked on for some time, with not much to say. Of course, Lucas told Nana what had happened to him.
“Do you think we can still beat Taboo?” asked Nana.
“Well, yeah. I’m sure we can,” replied Lucas. He did not really believe they could, but he had to sound strong. This was one of the times where he couldn’t let his feelings get the better of him.
They found a secret room, and walked in. They then saw 2 heroes sitting on a couch.

“Who’s there?” asked Popo, seeing another figure at the end of the hallway.
“Jiggly!” replied Jigglypuff, who ran to Popo.
“I was hoping you were Nana,” said Popo, sad.
“She’s still ok?” asked Jigglypuff, slightly insulted that he didn’t even say hi.
“yeah…I think,” replied Popo.
“Well, we can go look for her,” said Jigglypuff. “We should go look in one of the secret rooms.” They walked then, and when they entered…sat on a couch and waited.

Luigi had just gotten away from some enemies and walking into a secret room.
“Hello?” he asked. And saw Popo and Jigglypuff, sitting on a couch.
“You’re safe too!” said Jigglypuff.

Lucas and Nana walked into a secret room and found 2 people sitting on a couch.
“You 2 are safe!” said Lucas seeing, Red and Wolf.
“We should start training if we’re going to save everyone, right?” asked Lucas.
“I guess so,” said Red. “I really need to be able to fight for myself.”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa. Who made you leader?” asked Wolf.
“Fine,” replied Red. “We’ll have a vote.”
“All in favor of me as leader,” said Wolf. Only he raised his hand.
“All in favor of Lucas,” said Red. He and Nana raised their hands. “Then it’s settled. Lucas leads us.”
“Well…ummm…let’s get training,” said Lucas, nervous but excited. And so they began to train. Lucas had Red go through all sorts of exercises, and taught him strategies of fighting.
“We don’t have much time to get you strong…but here are some things you can do,” said Lucas, and he continued to explain.
“Those ideas are really good,” said Red. “But I already know how to fight.”
“But with pokemon, not yourself,” replied Lucas.
“You sound like you should be a pretty good fighter,” said Nana.
“Yeah…” said Lucas. “But guys, why did you two vote for me? He would probably be a better leader.” They looked at Wolf, who was sitting on a couch, doing nothing.
“I thought you would make a good leader,” replied Red.
“Me too,” said Nana.
“You would have been better then me, too, Red. You always lead your pokemon.”
“For some reason, I don’t know why, I think you’d be the best leader. I trust you,” replied Red.
“Me too,” said Nana
“So what do we need to help you with?” asked Lucas.
“I don’t know,” replied Nana. “I don’t really like being away from Popo, but I think I’m starting to get over him...I mean that.”
“So what about you Lucas?” asked Red. “What do you have to train in?”
“I don’t know,” replied Lucas. “I can use my powers pretty well, but whenever I get ready to fight…I just get scared and can’t.”
“Well, there’s no real way to practice that…” said Red.
“Unless I look at Wolf,” whispered Lucas, looking at Wolf sitting on the couch. Nana and Red laughed.
“You’re funny,” said Nana.
“What’d he say?” asked Wolf, not having heard what they were talking about.
“Nothing,” replied Lucas. “but now I think it’s time to go look for other heroes. And turn them back to good.”

“Let’s get ready to find everyone,” said Jigglypuff.
“But I’m only a good fighter with Nana,” said Popo.
“and…we can’t…not alone…” stammered Luigi.
“Fine,” said Jigglypuff. “Luigi, there’s not much we can do about you always being scared except have you learn to fight. And Popo, you can fight on your own, you just need to get used to it. We should train.” And after some time, the 3 were feeling better about themselves.
“Looks like we’re all set,” said Jigglypuff.

“Six of them have escaped,” said Ganondorf. “Lucas, Luigi, Jigglypuff, Wolf, the Ice Climbers and Red.”
“Wait,” replied Tabuu, worried. “Both Ice Climbers?”
“Yes.”
“This isn’t good. The prophecy…Everyone, listen. I need some of you to take these to where only you would find them, or your enemy would. Then, all of you, clone yourselves with the shadow bug.”
“Why are you doing this?” asked Ganondorf.
“To give myself a chance,” replied Tabuu.

CHAPTER 48: THE DESERTER
“So, where do we want to look first?” asked Lucas.
“Wait…you have maps?” asked Wolf.
“Yeah…there were some in the room. Maybe…Red, you go with Wolf to the east, I’ll go with Nana to the west?”
“Ok,” replied Nana, smiling.
“Aww, why do I have to go with him?” asked Red and Wolf at the same time.
“Because,” replied Lucas, “It’s better to go in pairs.”
“Hold on…I found these that might help,” said Red. He gave one deku nut to each person there.
“ok…we’ll meet back here in an hour?” asked Lucas. Everyone agreed and so they split.
Lucas and Nana were walking along a corridor, when an arrow flew right past their faces.
“What was that?” asked Nana, grabbing Lucas.
“Looked like an arrow I think,” replied Lucas, holding back his fear. They turned around to see the archer.

“So, are we ready to go out and look for people?” asked Jigglypuff.
“I…I probably won’t be much of a fighter alone,” replied Popo, not wanting to go out.
“Ok then, I’ll stay and train with you, Luigi can go out,” replied Jigglypuff.
“What?” Luigi said, shocked.
“You can do it,” encouraged Jigglypuff. “And it’ll help you be less scared.”
“o…ok,” said Luigi, and, trying to be brave, left.

Lucas and Nana posed to fight against…Young Link.
“PK Fire!” yelled Lucas as Young Link launched an arrow. “Use your ice attack!” said Lucas. But Nana was too scared to move. Young Link took out his boomerang and threw it.
“Come on!” said Lucas, who was trying to distract Young Link so Nana could attack.
“I can’t without Popo, he always knows what to do and his attacks are stronger and mine are stronger with him,” replied Nana, thinking up excuses. Young Link shot an arrow at Lucas, and it grazed his arm. He fell to the ground, and Nana ran over to him. Young Link threw a bomb, which threw Lucas and Nana in opposite directions.
Lucas got up, terrified, and thought of running. ‘There’s not way I can win this,’ he thought. He got up and was about to run, when he saw Nana as the smoke cleared. He knew that he couldn’t go this time, she needed him.
So as Young Link took out the laser gun, Lucas threw the deku nut. The laser gun disappeared as it fell, and Young Link’s eyes seemed a bit less blue.
“Throw it!” said Lucas, and she did. After it hit, his eyes were even less blue. After being hit the second time, he dropped his ocarina. Lucas ran over and started playing it.
“Saria…,” was Young Link’s first word after being returned to normal. “What happened?” Lucas and Nana explained everything they knew.
“Then we better get back to the room,” said Young Link, and he started to walk there.
“Wait,” said Nana. “Can we have a minute?” Young Link nodded and left, and Lucas stayed behind.
“What’s wrong?”
“I…I didn’t do anything. I should have helped more.”
“That’s ok, everything turned out fine.”
“No it’s not…you shouldn’t have had to save me. I guess I just can’t fight alone.” Nana then started crying.
“Yes you can,” said Lucas, giving her a hug. “It’s ok, don’t worry. Everything will be fine, I promise. We’ll find Popo.” They stood there for another minute, and then caught up to Young Link.

“So where do you think Popo is?” asked Red.
“I don’t know,” replied Wolf, fake thoughtfully. “Let me se the map.” Red handed over the map, and Wolf pulled out his deku nut as he took the map.
“Sucker,” said Wolf, as he threw the deku nut at Red. Red was stunned, and Wolf took this opportunity to grab Red’s deku nut and run away. “I’m outta here.”

CHAPTER 49: THE REVIVAL
Red walked back to the room. He couldn’t believe that Wolf had run away. Well, actually, he could. But he headed back to the room when he met the other three, and waited for them to return.
“I’d never be able to catch him…I wonder where he went?” wondered Red.

“So right now it’s just you two, Red, Wolf, and me?” asked Young Link.
“Yep,” replied Lucas. “That’s all of us.”
“And Popo. He’s still out there somewhere too,” added Nana.
“Oh yeah. Popo,” said Lucas.
“So where are we meeting?” asked Young Link.
“It’s one of the secret rooms…right here,” said Lucas, and the 3 came into the room.
“Hi guys,” said red, sitting on the couch alone.
“Where’s Wolf?” asked Young Link, making himself at home.
“He…ran off,” replied Red.
“What?!?” asked Lucas.
“Yeah…he stunned me and took the map and left,” said Red.

“Oh boy,” said Luigi, walking around alone. Luigi had been out for some time, and not found anyone. He was kind of happy about that though, he didn’t want to meet any of the enemies. He wanted to just go out for a good amount of time and then come back and wait for someone else to do the saving. He got unlucky though, because on the way back, he met a familiar face.
“Yoshi Yoshi!” said Yoshi, rolling towards Luigi. He turned around to run, but Yoshi knocked him over. Lying on the ground, Luigi realized that there was no way for him to run away, yoshi was too fast. But what he could do was fight, or give up.
“Someone will save me,” he said out loud, and Yoshi broke out of his egg. His eyes were a little less blue after hearing a voice he recognized. “Never be able to win…but…someone always…saves me…” By now, Yoshi had been completely revived.
‘Wait…I guess since I heard Luigi talking so much…I remembered…’ thought Yoshi. But he knew that there was something else he had to do. He hit Luigi into the air, and ran at him, eyes closed. As Luigi saw Yoshi coming he made a poor attempt to attack, but it sent Yoshi flying away anyways.
“Hey…maybe I can be a good fighter,” Luigi said to himself, and Yoshi came back, revealing himself as being good.
“You saved me!” Yoshi said.

Wolf was following the map, on his way out of the building.
“I wonder if anyone else made it out…I’m sure Snake would have tried. He’s one of the smart ones…Maybe…it would give me leverage over Fox and Falco. But I’d rather be alive.”

CHAPTER 50: THE ACE RETURNS
“You’re back!” said Jigglypuff, as Luigi entered the room with Yoshi.
“Yeah, he saved me,” replied Yoshi.
“Yeah…now when do we go out to find everyone else?” asked Luigi.
“Well…we can go in a minute or two,” replied Jigglypuff. “We’re done with training and you seem ready. So me and Popo will head one way, you two go a different way. That way, we can cover more ground. And who knows. We might find Nana.” Luigi went over to talk to Popo, and Jigglypuff confronted Yoshi.
“Why is he so confident?” asked Jigglypuff. “What happened to him?”
“Well, he beat me in a fight,” replied Yoshi.
“Or at least thinks he did…?”
“Yeah, I was already good but I didn’t let him know that. It’s better that he’s confident, he has potential if he doesn’t doubt himself.”

“We better look for him then,” said Lucas.
“Why?” asked Red. “What has he done for us?”
“He can help us fight. And I don’t want him to get captured.”
“Ok then. But which way?” They decided to stick together and go around the whole building.
“Wait, what’s this?” asked nana. She had found a music box.
“Doesn’t sound help bring people back?” asked Young Link.
“Yeah,” replied Lucas. “This should help.” They then left.
“Last I knew, he was probably headed towards the exit, so if we follow this path…” started Red, but he stopped when he saw another former hero. Pit shot an arrow towards the group, and all of them dodged it.
“Surround him!” yelled Lucas, and he, Young Link, and Red did that. “Get the box!” Lucas added, and Nana took out the music box and searched for the right song.
Pit shot an arrow out at Red, who dodged as Lucas shot a fire bolt. But Pit quickly turned and used his mirror shield to reflect it, which Lucas used to heal. Young Link rushed at him with his sword, but Pit slashed him away. As he was about to shoot Young Link, Nana found the right song. Pit stopped, and after listening for a minute, he was back to normal.
“What happened to me?” asked Pit. Lucas told him what happened. “Wait…so you 3 were never captured…Wolf left…and Popo was ok. (To himself) who were the other two. And wait… (To all) we need to find Wolf! Make sure he does not leave the building.
“Why do we need him?” asked Red.
“(To self) I probably shouldn’t tell them about the prophecy, then it might not come true. (To all) Just so Tabuu doesn’t have an easier chance at capturing him,” replied Pit.
“Maybe we should go back to the room, see if he’s back,” suggested Nana. They went back, and found no one.
