Well, since Angel made one about the top villain, I decided we should look through all of fiction and see who is the greatest hero of them all is. Who do you think it is?
For me it's Lloyd, no doubt about it. He has been through so much already, and does what ever it takes to help the right side, even if it means putting himself in danger. Also, everyone looks up to him now.

Well, I have to disagree with you Lloyd. If you're looking for a hard life, Mother 3's Lucas has been through a crapload of stuff. The death of... a person close to him. The disappearance of... another person close to him. The mental breakdown of... yet another person close to him. And in the end, to save the world, he is forced to battle... a close person to him. (You see me trying and failing to not spoil the plot of Mother 3.  ) But I don't think having a hard life makes you the greatest hero ever. First he's a priest... Now that's all hero-ey but he's a priest with a gun and that just makes him more bad ass. So there's my point. Priest + gun = bad ass hero-ey priest XD

I haven't seen a single person actually think outside of the video game realm.
And I am 99% sure that the next choice who isn't from video games will be an anime character.

I say Samus because Samus IS my favorite hero ever. And it IS favoritism because that is the POINT of this thread, to pick your favorite.
