Should we combine sites?

If this does happen, the ~tOFs~ members are afraid of the following:

1. Members are going to be rude (like how they were before when entering the tofs cbox)

2. The idea of "Tales of Fans" will be over taken by Super Smash Fans.

3. All Hell will break loose


So I think we can prevent these problems with a timely chat box and friendly attitude.

I honestly think that doing this would kill tOFs and be a detriment to us. I like staying closely bound with them, that's fine, but I don't think a combo would help with that whole unity and activity thing we're going for with the redesign.

I still vote no. I mean, think about 2 different air masses. A cold one and a warm one, if one pushes into the other, a boundary forms and then a Hurricane happens. I thought the Analogy would fit here, but now that I re-read it... it's a bit less than I wanted.

But still, a vote for no for me. Even though it won't usually matter, people don't change their votes back afterward 70% of the time.

I mean, you said it yourself ghost, they're what you use to get away from us. Even if we DO have a dwindling member population doesn't mean we need to put some people through hell just so we can fix it. I'm all for more activity, but at what cost?

This might just be random rambling and bias from me, but still, I don't like the idea.

But the poll says it's an even vote. 4 to 4. Don't see how that's a decision right there. Especially since you only gave them 7 hours, maybe 1 or 2, counting school and jobs.

I vote yes, and if we do combine, I'll try and be less of a dick.

I think if we genuinely try and treat the members with kindness instead of shitting on them whenever we think they're ideas/actions are dumb, then they might just warm up to us.

Dobs, he's not actually saying no. What happened is one, maybe two people got riled up on MSN, told him they might quit if someone shows up and sweet Emil is like, "Oh, I guess I can't do it now." when in actuality, if this happened no one would leave.. it's an idle and messed up threat that they gave in order to get their way and to continue to be otherwise hateful to certain people on NES without even giving them a chance.

The decision shouldn't be made that way. We should leave the talking open and try to reach out to the people who just think with the bad rumors. ToFs wouldn't be the one dying in my opinion, I think that both sites are about the same size lately.. with Tales of Fansite maybe even being a bit bigger than ours right now. A merger at both of our member level right now would allow for both sites to keep their individual identity I feel.. as long as we allow for certain parts of the new site to keep it.

Do you really think its a good idea to combine with a site that's members would rather quit than be a part of ours? Not knocking tOFs on this one, but clearly this is not a merge that would go well.

What do we honestly have in common with them other than member base that would make it a good idea? Two completely different RPs? We both like nintendo things? We can be friends, that's cool. Sharing a forum would just be silly as far as I'm concerned.

And if Emil makes a decision based on threats, its still a decision. The conditions don't change the fact that he just said no. He can change his mind later, but for now, its clearly a no-go.
