Should we combine sites?

Me and Emil were talking and i had talked him into helping us with the layout of the forum when we change it so it looks better... i even said that i think we should make TOFS a "sister forum" because we go there they come here and he would be helping us.


But then Emil had an idea. Read his post to TOFS below (ignore his error about "The" admin

The admin of NES and I were talking about our sites. I was going to lend a hand to help make their site look better and almost just like ours.. We also agreed to be brother and sister sites, but that's when it struck me..

Maybe we should combine sites?

Now before you nay-sayers say anything, listen to what I have to say..
Members on NES come here anyways, and members of ~tOFs~ go there every now and then. It's too late to say let's not start more drama. I think that if we do combine sites, and everyone works together.. good can come out. Our staff and their staff can discuss how everything will work, and trust me I will make sure peace will still be held. *(and I know there staff will too)

I know lots of you dislike NES, well.. I'm sorry but "NES" isn't really bad. Maybe some of you were brought up that way here because of 2 or 3 of the most rule breaking members from NES happen to come here. There are lots of good people there who are also members here.

So please think about this. Thank you.

I've not been to TOFs recently but I feel if we combine sites it can only help us. To me it seems that the benefits far outweigh the losses, if indeed there really are any losses aside from the initial adjustment period immediately after merging.

Well, I would like to avoid the whole being erased from existence by the force of gravitational shear ordeal but.. yeah. I mean I think it can work but if you mess this up in terms of staffing and general layout, it could bring more trouble and drama then we both had on our own.

I'm leaning toward no and I'll state my reasons. The majority of Tofs members do not like us. Why? Because we're the opposite of them (and our most invaluable assholes go on the tofs c-box). We have our own way of doing things and discussing different topics. They do not accept this and thats why only two Tofs members has been spotted on the NES or the c-box. If we combine sites they need to accept us. I believe we can tone things down and such to make them more comfortable but I will not allow them push their ideals on us, espicially if they are bringing their staff members over here. I'm not liking this plan Ghost. If the Tofs members gave us some kind of compromise or middle ground as well as guarantee that things wont get out of hand, I can accept it. Honestly I don't see the Tofs members agreeing to that. Only Emi, Yomi, perhaps Sheena and like maybe one other member (though I forgot her name) are the only ones I can think of that would do it. I can name a ton of people that wouldn't but the biggest one would be Modoro/Dawn/Obekant which we know what he would say. .... Thats all I have to say. Its a good idea and it will benefit both sites but idk if the members will accept it. Also if a Tofs-like atmosphere shrouds the c-box, I will began breaking balls.

I'm leaning on yes, but alot of Star's comment's should be listened to.. because do remember we have alot of things different on that angle when it comes to things run.

Though we will end up having, for a short time anyway, two paid c-boxes and that's pretty neat. We can have one for good PG discussions and one for the PG-13. But what happens when we only have one is the problem. :3

Well...if it does happen, I'll do my best to help us get along and co exist (fairly) peaceably. And since you guys are indeed more...well (adult?) then the members of tOFs, perhaps you could work out a time system like "10-6pm is "tOFs" time-like the chat is..." less mature" and then later at night its "NES" time where the chat can well...gain in uh...you know right?

But to your points star.. yes TOFS would have to accept us and there would have to be a middle ground established. Not sure about threads but in the c-box... we would probably set aside a time for "kid friendly" and a time for "mature" sorta like we have now.

RPs would stay separate and worth independently unless the staff of each discuss merging them in the future... but our staff has worked too hard to throw a shitball into the middle once again. not going to happen.

Yes there would be a change in staffing somewhat but we would all just have to deal with that when it happens.


Also Emil's c-box is only fully paid for one more month... ours still has a year so we'd just be abandoning his and keeping ours.




again... don't have a final thought on this... just handing out some things that would be necessary to do this

I will admit that I was apprehensive at the idea of combining both sites at first but after we talked and think it's strangely brilliant. Of course, merging we about different issues (specifically the mods) but we have been through worse, what would a minor merger do? Nothing...

And yes, I voted for pie.

If what Ghost said is true, I will vote yes. I'm still a little iffy about the idea but we'll see. I don't like the changes in staff though. I know I don't trust many but I definitely don't trust Tofs Staff. Mostly because they fail to pull the ban trigger when needed and when they do pull it, its at bullshit times. we'll see I guess.
