Sometime this afternoon, the c-box ended up being "locked" for a few minutes. However annoying this was not dangerous. Someone could have easily just walked in there and unlocked it, so there was no real HARM in the action. No one was hijacking it, trying to change the password, banning anyone, or anything else. It was annoying, but not a big deal.
There are only 4 staff members with access to the c-box. Ghost, Devaux, Kunekune and me, Angel. Since I was emotional at the time before this happened, the blame was instantly put out on me. I understand that my side didn't look very good, but I had left a good 5 minutes before it even happened, and I left very ashamed of myself.. not wanting to have any further feelings with the c-box because of how much of an angry person it was making me. I hated it. The last thing I would do was go in there and start more drama. That is my defense for it, but I felt that there was lack of evidence either way of showing that.
Since then, the rest of the staff, including people like LGN who did not have password access have been blamed. This could have happened in a large number of ways. A. Someone could have found out the c-box password, and gotten into it. The password was simply "angelchan" and could have been easily guessed.. however flattering it was. B. This could have been some random glitch.. we do have almost 2,000,000 posts and this wouldn't' be the first time a glitch happened. C. This could have been some outside hacker or spammer, someone attacking cboxes.. though you would think they would do more than lock. All around, WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED.
But in the end, nothing actually happened, within 3 minutes it was fixed, and no other harmful things happened. I know that we all really do want to know what happened.. but no one is speaking up, no one can be proven as doing anything.. and this is causing too much needless drama. People acted way too harshly and way too fast, but we all do this sometimes. Just let this go. Everything is perfectly fine, the c-box password has been changed again and it's back below.
The last thing we should be doing is pointing fingers. This site already has a dramatic history, let's not make this any worse. I will defend ANYONE being blamed for this without a fair trial or talk, because I know what it feels like to be accused when I generally had no idea what was going on.. and was already sad. It hurt. No one should feel like the bad guy when there is no way of proving that they were. Innocent until proven guilty.
This is a call for the entire site to just let this go. Please.
