Guys guys guys. Wesker is cool and all, but he's FLAT. He's barely a character. There's no depth, no intricacies, no developement. An EVIL villain, but not a GOOD villain.

Guys guys guys. Wesker is cool and all, but he's FLAT. He's barely a character. There's no depth, no intricacies, no development. An EVIL villain, but not a GOOD villain. Hes not as flat as you might think. The biggest problem is you never actually see any background for Wesker. Umbrella Chronicles helped this a little by showing some of his role in the Raccoon City incident. However, most of his actions are hidden in secrecy. This will change in RE5. Watch the trailers. Wesker is back and is ready to kill you. ... Also, the title was most evil. Wesker's pretty darn evil. I mean he caused everything to happen the way it did in the RE series. Anyone that does that kind of crap on purpose is just really evil. ... I do concede the fact, however that Wesker is not very developed. He is awesome. His is powerful. He is smart. He is ruthless. Unfortunately thats about all you get from the games. ... I still say Wesker is the most evil of all villains. |

I own Umbrella Chronicles (Or at least my sister does), and I avidly watch the RE 5 trailers. ;D Still, I think Wesker is fairly generic, and therefore generically evil. And while the thread may be about the most EVIL, I still think that character is a huge part of what makes a villain. Why does everyone love WindWaker's Ganon so much? Because you can sympathize with him.
Also, Wesker has no vision. He may make speaches about his new world order, but everything is rooted in his desire for power. That's the only thing that matters to him. Now look at my pick, Ashnard. Ashnard has a vision. A philosophy. He wants to create a new world order, yes, and with himself at the top. But the difference is that the principle is the most important thing to him.
MAJOR SPOILERS DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED FIRE EMBLEM: PATH OF RADIANCE
(For those of you who don't know, Ashnard despised the system which human society was based on, namely that you were born into your lot in life. He felt that from the moment you were born, your destiny had already been decided. So, he attempted to create a world wide conflict and awaken an evil God. The resulting cataclysm would allow him to restructure the world in its "natural" order. With the strong at the top and the weak subserviant. When Ike tells him that he is going to die on his blade, Ashnard laughs and says that will only be a fulfillment of his ideal world. That's evil, cool, and makes for one heck of a villain.
END SPOILERS.
