I have kind of a two part suggestion. Ive noticed that the tournament boards for SSBB is kind of becoming a BIG waste of space. Noone ever seems to even make tournaments anymore or even participate in the ones going on IMO. So i have 2 suggestions.
1. Get rid of the tournaments board in its entirety and just stick to brawling and making matches over the cbox....
OR
2. Maybe make a big monthly tournament to bring some activity back to the tournaments. Maybe like a monthly event with some sort of big prize. My only current idea for a prize is have the chance to be a green mod (so they cant access the staff board) For 24 hours. Another idea for a prize is some sort of trophy to put into their signature. This could develop to become a big tournament if all goes as planned.
So what do you think?

Getting rid of the Tournaments board somehow feels like something we shouldn't do. This IS supposed to be Brawl fansite board and I feel like that's one of the few boards left that really shows it. I'd say leave it on for now.
As for your other suggestion... well, it sounds pretty good. Though being a Green Mod really won't let you do ANYTHING... so I don't know if it's a berry good prize. I'm just about to bump up my other suggestion from a while ago..

if someone wants to, they could help to make the prize 2000 wii points, since you can send people VC games as presents, they just choose a few games that equal that and boom, there's a worthwhile prize. The only problem is finding a sucker generous enough person to donate the prize. Maybe it could be changed to a smaller amount if 20 dollars is too much...

IDK if it's actually gambling, it's not really a game of chance, just an innocent tournament with a prize. And it's more by skill than chance

A pool of people putting, let's face it, money, each paying a equal amount to a game where the winner get's all of the money would count as gambling, no? It sounds like a common game of poker.

But it's just 1 person donating the prize money every tournament. Not everyone who participates will have to pay or anything. Just the sucker doner pays for that tournament, and the winner gets the prize. Whereas the losers played a good game of SSBB.

Since I am the Tournaments Mod, this is directed towards me sorta.
The Tourneys haven't seen much light latley, but it will stay up. As Angel said, this is a Brawl forum, and having the tourneys is one of the things that keep it that way.
I will start doing Monthly Tourneys, and if possible, I will award VC or Wii Ware Prizes. (You can send those to other people, right?). So expect to see one up soon.
