My lack of a computer means I got nowhere to put things. This thread will be deleted once I've got a computer. Just going to end up being some stuff I've needed to work on.

CARREFOR TOWN
Forgotten by most of the world, Carrefor is an ancient town of almost cryptic origin. At present it is a dusty town situated in the badlands of Veria, quite a distance from the rest of the region. A strange energy seems to permeate the air, to some it would feel comforting, while to others it would bring a chill down their spine. Taking up a large percent of the land is the cemetery, an expanse of tombstone after tombstone that attracts the rare superstitious daredevil or romantic couple. Though the Infinity Tower and the Scarlet Company main building attract a lot of attention, Carrefor's folklore and festivals bring in their fair share of visitors.

While the town receives a large number of visitors, few residents want to stay. Many of the youth move out when they can, heading to more desirable locale like Aleal or Caravella, making most of Carrefor's population the elderly and young children. For such a dark and gloomy place, the people can be rather cheerful and polite, particularly to visitors.
Though there is no distinction in wealth among the residents, there is clearly a distinct difference in many of the buildings of Carrefor. The dusty grey rock that the Infinity Tower is known for has been used to build many important buildings in Carrefor, notable for a strange level of durability despite the unknown age of the tower. From houses to the town hall, and even the Pokemon Center, these buildings boast a rustic and ancient appearance, a stark contrast to the modern construction of the Scarlet Company HQ, the Sinclair Station, and many shops and newer houses. Even the Caretaker's house is built from the stone bricks of the tower.

Scarlet Company
Scarlet Company has been around since the very beginning of Carrefor. Starting out as trade caravans that travel around Veria, they took advantage of the creation of Sinclair and used it to transport goods across great distance, using the profits to support Carrefor. Notably, their main building connected directly to the train station, for easy transport of goods and supplies. Entry into the main building is restricted, however a large market resides nearby.
Infinity Tower
Perhaps the most iconic landmark of Carrefor is the large black stone tower in the Northernmost edge of town. Time has taken its toll on the foreboding obelisk, and parts have crumbled here and there, but the tower still stands strong. Most of it at least, as the top of the tower now rests on the ground beside its base, all but demolished. The bricks from the tower have been used to build some of the structures within Carrefor, though the practice has since been discarded in favor of stronger materials obtained through trade.
The instability of the upper levels has prompted Carrefor officials to forbid any excursions up the tower, however the lower sector is perfectly fine. Spanning a mile into the ground, the lower levels consist not of floors at all, but a great winding stairway that descends into the dark depths of the planet. The strangest thing is that the center is completely hollow, the entire weight of the tower is anchored by a massive keystone sitting at the deepest depths of the tower. The tower is currently used as a mausoleum, storing coffins in alcoves carved out of the brick.
Gates of Hell
A popular myth around Carrefor, this was a story about a trainer who flew to the bottom of the Infinity Tower and back. Both trainer and his Pidgeot appeared to be in some sort of trance when they returned to the surface, and died soon after. Many believe that the very entrance to hell may exist deep within the tower, and that the trainer had come too close and was possessed. Nevertheless, the trainer was not able to confirm what exactly happened. Years and years after the incident, the superstition was cast off when a researcher descended with her Drifblim, finding only a large keystone that tethers the base of the tower, and ascended unharmed. Just remember not to lean over the stairway railing...
Infinity or Insanity?
Once upon a time, the bricks from the fragmented section of the Infinity Tower were sold as souvenirs. Traditionally the bricks are used to build and repair structures within Carrefor, to which they worked quite well, retaining an unusual sturdiness despite the apparent age. Business did not last very long, however, as when they were removed from Carrefor, the bricks would suddenly crumble for no apparent reason. What was even stranger was how soon after the bricks crumble, their owners report hearing voices, finding the brick whole again. Mere days after the incident, the owner would go medically insane...
Cult Origins
Residents of Carrefor all know their history. They know that the town wasn't always theirs. They didn't build it, Carrefor was found as an abandoned settlement long ago, when trade caravans were Veria's primary source of trade. Carrefor was settled by weary merchants and turned into a trade center, but the question still exists. What happened to the original inhabitants of Carrefor? Many believe that they were attacked or driven out, while others believe the Infinity Tower to be behind it. The only clue is a note left in the library that reads; "God has punished us, stay away from the tower."
Festival of Souls
Its commonly debated what name it should go by, but the end of October is a time of celebration for Carrefor. Festival of Souls begins as a night of celebrating life and joy, followed by a day of remembrance of the deceased. This is a popular festival with children, particularly the nighttime celebration. Preparations are made the day before, setting up decorations and making arrangements, and when the Festival's Eve approaches, children take to the street, adorned in costume, trying their best to scare whoever they meet and get some candy. The following day, the graveyard and Tower are filled with people giving their respects to deceased family and friends.
//////// history
Carrefor's original settlers were a people that worshipped Giratina, and built the Infinity Tower to try and reach Giratina's domain. They nearly succeed, but Giratina went through and killed everyone for trying to enter the Torn World. Giratina then destabilizes the top of the tower before leaving, causing it to collapse and fall from the tower, shattering the mirror they were going to use. The few survivors fled the town in fear of the tower, believing it to be the reason their god punished them.
