"What do you mean this match is-" "Oh my genocide, this is actually happening." "W-well then! I guess we're having a special match today! Give it up for Katie Weathers and.... someone who's shockingly similar to Katie Weathers! How did this person even get on our radar I don't even-" "SET UP THE ARENA" LITERALLY TOO PINK FOR YOU
An empty field that's littered and covered with cherry blossom pedals. A singular sakura tree is the only obstacle in this anime-as-fuck field. Senpai has noticed you, and they're out for blood...
I... I don't understand why...
Oh right... Angel gets priority.

The landscape was surreal. It was like some dream-land made of cotton candy. It smelled wonderful, like an aroma of roses was wafting through the arena. "This is where we're fighting?" Angel looked around. There was nowhere to fight, traverse through, or anything really. It was just a straight arena, except with a tree in the middle, which was likely generating the pinkness of the field. "It feels like it's pandering to me a bit too hard." She knew she loved pink, and everyone around her knew it too, but she was also pretty self-aware sometimes. It just seemed really bizarre that this was her matchup, and this just so happened to be made only for Angel to fight in.
She scoped her surroundings just a bit. There didn't seem to be anyone there. It would have been silly to shout out just on the off-chance her opponent was a no-show. She didn't even know the rules regarding that. She clearly didn't listen to any of them. There was a bit of hope that someone would be there to spoonfeed her the important parts. She was still kind of clinging on to that hope. Reading's for nerds like Mimic. Mimic's such a nerd.

☆ ★ Just take my hand. We're gonna reach for the stars! ★ ☆ She jumped into the arena.. in fact, she felt like she was flying. She still had a nervous smile on her face, a bit embarrassed. She had stayed up all night, unable to sleep, because of her excitement for this moment.. only to find that she started dozing off right before it started to happen. Whoops. No, she was okay now. That natural second wind as the body realized she wasn't going to sleep. Her body's fear response. She felt wide awake. Her imagination running wild as her heart started to beat so quickly. As she descended into the arena she pulled out off her shock batons from her utility belt and tossed them into the area, spinning them wildly only to catch them perfectly (whoo, it worked this time!) as she landed some feet away from opponent. As she landed her baton smacked into the ground, sending a burst of electrical energy, flinging some of the cherry blossoms in the air. She stood up, hands on her hip. Eyes to the crowd. Cherry blossoms covering her in a beautiful wave of beauty. Yeah. "Ready for a good time!?" she shouted to the crowd, making sure she looked super cute and giving them a bit of a wink, focusing all her intention on getting them on her side. Hey, one of them was a cute teenage girl. It shouldn't be hard. And then she used her Flash Step mechanic, shifting her position a few feet away suddenly, eyes barreling down her opponent. It looked pretty in all this pink, but she had no clue what it was. Some pretty monster, she supposed. "Let's rock!" She motioned with her hands, daring it to come after her and make the first move. Back to back, n' spinnin' on the back! Back to back, on the turntables' back! Back to back, n' spinnin' on the back! Back to back, on the back to back!

Cheering audiences, mostly generic loud noises from an unreachable audience sanctioned outside a simulated arena. It didn't seem like Angel could make out any kind of coherent words in what they were shouting, but they seemed to have noticed and taken a liking to the opponent making their entrance. Who was it though? It was actually severely unlikely that she would have recognized her opponent, since she hadn't actually met anyone in the residential areas yet. Basically she went in head over heels without any thoughts as to what she was up against, all for the sake of a free high speed internet connection and some vague mention of "powers". But mostly the first part.
She didn't expect to find an oddly familiar teen-looking twintails girl. The sight of her relieved Angel a bit. She didn't look too threatening, compared to, say, some form of litch king, or even a knight with basic combat training and a sword. She just looked like another regular person. That is, until she started a really pretty gymnastics routine as just her entry into battle. "Ready for a good time!?" the twintails girl shouted, to nobody in particular, but it felt like she was addressing everyone at once.
"Let's Rock!", she gestured at Angel. It felt like twintails was speaking in bold. Angel appreciated that enthusiasm. It was a good character trait. Maybe the two could get to be friends. She wondered if this girl liked anime. Twintails kind of looked like this one character from a show Angel only watched because of another twintails. The voice sounded familiar too, but this wasn't the time to dwell on any of that. She raised up her tentacle. I mean Hand. That's what Angel has. Common Interest Synchronization should settle in as soon as she struck her first impression. "Hi there! I'm Angel!"

☆ ★ Just take my hand. We're gonna reach for the stars! ★ ☆ Katie blinked. Oh. "Um.. hi!" she said, the most unfortunate of blows. Her stance loosening from it's fighting stance into a more casual one, no longer prepped to run. No longer prepped to fight. Instead, prepped to impress. Analyzing. Scanning. Katie was in Social Mode. "Sorry about that, should have made introductions and all. Fun fun. I'm Katie! What's your.. I mean, what's up Angel?" She paused, giving her one of her trademark smiles. "I seen haven't anything like you before, this place looks like just the sorta place you belong! All pink and stuff. Flowery." It was hard to switch gears like this, arms shivered.. she.. she.. had to stop. No. Her body just wanted to move, her mind was rushing at a mile a minute.. it's like she was still catching up with herself. Trying to catch up with the thoughts that were no longer relevant. No. She wasn't rushing in. She was talking. For just a quick moment, her expression was pained. She had to stop. It.. hurt.. ...

Angel was glad her opponent turned out to be a real cutie pie instead of some huge armored capra demon thing. She said her name was Katie, but then said something about "seeing anything like you before" so Angel honestly had no idea how to take that. This Katie character was either blissfully unaware or kind of a huge bitch actually. She had a really nice smile going on, and she didn't seem malicious, and for some reason Angel kept having a sense of familiarity in looking at her. Even that name. Katie. Angel always had this strange attraction to that name. She used it for a few of her roleplay roles, her friend SLE got her into Marvel comics with Power Pack, starring Katie Power, and she had wanted to use that name in case she ever had a koala or something. Katie the Koala, that was a great idea. Go Angel. But there was still that familiarity in that name combined with that appearance. Maybe she had just seen her opponent's name and face on a sign somewhere telling her how to get to the arena and it said who her opponent was going to be. Angel misses that kind of thing sometimes. Angel's a ditz like that. Like how much of a nerd Mimic is. Mimic is such a nerd.
"Oh!" Angel snapped back to reality instead of daydreaming for an entire post. She noticed Katie seemed distressed a bit. She was explained about her own powers when she got here, but she hadn't ever seen the effects for herself. She didn't know that her first impression skill would be anything like that. It honestly seemed a bit unfair, like an auto-hit making her opponent wince like that from just saying hello. "Um, are you okay? D:" You could hear the little "D:" emote in her voice.

☆ ★ Just take my hand. We're gonna reach for the stars! ★ ☆ Ouch. Whatever, whoever this was.. they played dirty. Katie was wounded. "I.. I'm fine! You.. you're evil." she laughed, trying to regain her composure. It was obvious she was teasing, and had a smile on her face. Then she slipped into a more confident pose as she had completely recovered. "Aren't you not supposed to be worried?" she laughed, shifting back into a more battle ready stance again. It looked pumped. She was bouncing on her feet, and she even took a few jabs to the air.* "I mean, you're supposed to be beating me up. I promise I won't go so far, but you gotta do the same. No dying, no blood. Just fun." Her baton was still at the ready, and she felt she had made enough of an introduction... so despite now feeling like this thing was cute, she was charging in. She zoomed in quickly and held her baton firm, thrusting herself over and attempting to slam the electrically charged baton into.. what she guessed was the person's side? She started to realize she wasn't actually sure of something.. "Um.. might wanna tell me where your vitals are, pink flower.. thing." She would ask, whether or not her hit connected. *This stance is pretty much exactly the same as a stance that Zell from Final Fantasy 8 does a lot, something Angel would notice.
