Chapter 1 - Deja Vu

The peaceful, friendly atmosphere of Toad Town often draws in visitors from other realms, but that peace was about to be shattered...
Blue skies, fluffy clouds, a gentle spring breeze, it was a perfect day in the quiet Toad Town. Many of the toads have emerged from their homes to greet a surprise visitor, Princess Peach, come to enjoy the surprisingly pleasant day. But as the breeze ceased to blow, the clouds began to drift away, and a dark cloud began to creep over the castle, bringing with it another unexpected visitor, this one far less welcomed to the small town.
Bowser's dreaded airship loomed ominously over the castle, causing panic to run rampant through the streets of Toad Town. Koopas of all rank began to hail down from the airship, landing in the town to attack. Clearly this was not one of Bowser's usual schemes to kidnap the princess. His army began to terrorize the town, setting fires and attacking the people, beginning the march towards the castle.
From atop the airship, Bowser himself gazed down upon the scene as one of his Magikoopa generals approached him, the purple robed Kammy Koopa. "Your burliness, the princess is retreating into the castle." But he merely turned his gaze to her, the pride and ambition that once shone brightly in his eyes replaced by an evil haze. Kammy had served the Koopa line since before Bowser's reign, and never had she witnessed this kind of change in the king.
The Koopa Army has descended upon Toad Town, and are making their way to Peach's Castle. Their goal is to capture the castle and take the princess hostage. Help fend off the attack, but remember that Bowser's plan of attack may change depending on how you handle it. You can join either entering through the portal or already be in the town from the start.
