Smash Gate: Space Between Worlds
Beginning world, the portal platform used to traverse between worlds.
World of Beginnings: Mushroom Kingdom, Yoshi's Island, Kongo Jungle (Bowser) [KEY: Fawful]
Beginning plot. Bowser is corrupted for his anger and hate towards Mario, who continually defeats all his plans. Bowser launches an attack on Peach's Castle and kidnaps both Peach and Mario. Heroes will hear of this, and enter the Mushroom Kingdom as Bowser's ship is fleeing. Defeating the koopa king will cue a very confused Bowser, freed of Corruption. As Bowsers elites explain to him what happened, Luigi realizes he was left out, having been asleep at home through the entire thing. In steps Dark Fawful and uses the remnant powers of the Dark Star to revert Luigi back to his anti-self, Mr. L. The two retreat to Luigi's ghost-infested mansion.
Dark clouds are seen swirling over the mansion, so Bowser takes the heroes to investigate. They encounter ghosts in the halls, battling some of the boss ghosts. Eventually they run into Mr. L, who bars their path until they defeat him. He leaves and rejoins Dark Fawful, who the heroes soon find in the courtyard. Anotjer battle is fought, but when Fawful is defeated, he tries to kill Luigi, King Boo crashes the party, sapping Dark Fawful of his dark energy, unintentionally saving Luigi. King Boo challenges the heroes atop the roof to av final battle. Upon King Boos defeat, the clouds dispel.and the Mushroom Kingdom is safe from the ghastly threat. Meanwhile, Fawful tried to crawl away with a Key, with no success. Hopefully.
World of Heroes: Ylisse and Tellius (CORRUPTION) (Lehran) [KEY: Plegia]
Lehran corrupts the Begnion senators to obey him and uses them to usurp Begnion from Sanaki, and declares war on Ylisse, Regna Ferox, and Plegia. Chrom and the Ylissean army know nothing of Tellius, and and accidentally attack a Daein town. The heroes arrive from the portal in Nevassa, Daein's capital, and hear news that their seaborn neighbors have attacked, prompting the heroes to attack the opposing army. Soon after the battle begins, the Ylissean/Feroxi army realizes it's mistake and calls for a truce. As the truth is explained to the heroes, Begnion attacks Daein to catch them off guard. Begnion declares war on the world, and attacks with soldiers enhanced by Corruption.
A rebellion occurs in Sienna, Begnion's capital, but is put down by the Black Knight, forcing the loyalists underground. The heroes fight alongside Daein, Ylisse, and Regna Ferox to defeat Begnion's assault. When the Begnion forces recieve a boost in power, the hero army is beaten back, but recieves a boost of their own when Gallian beast, Phoenician Hawk Laguz, and Crimean soldiers suddenly attack Begnion, forcing the Corrupted army back all the way to Sienna. Sienna becomes anb impregnable fortress, preventing the heroes from assaulting.
A rogue with the rebellion forces, Tormod, escapes Sienna and shows the heroes a hidden way into the city. It is revealed that Empress Sanaki had been rescued by an unlikely hero, the Black Knight. Chrom leads a strike team into the city, aided by the rebel forces, in an attack on the city gate. They open the gate, allowing the full force of the armies of six nations to storm the occupying corrupted army, wiping them out before Lehran could strengthen them. Lehran retreats to the Tower of Guidance, using the Corruption to create new soldiers as it comes down to The heroes vs Lehran's final stand.
The key is held by Gangrel of Plegia.
World of Legends: Hyrule (CORRUPTION) (Zelda)
Zelda is corrupted directly by Ganondorf. She begins acting like a tyrant, prompting heroes to come. Upon being found, the heroes will be approached by guards and siezed for being outsiders, and will be thrown in the dungeon. RPers can get caught or escape the city. Those caught will likely escape, while the ones that escaped should be directed to find out why things are that way. Whether by succeeding at obtaining an audience with Zelda or sneaking in with the hero Link who wishes to save the princess, Zelda exhibits corruption, and once she is defeated, she is released from the corruption. Any RPers that didn't escape are released.
World of Myths: Skyworld and Underworld (Dark Pit -Fakes It-) [KEY: Hades]
Hades flaunts his possession of a Key, and Dark Pit feigns corruption to try and steal the Key.
World of Dreams: Dreamland (Adeleine)
Meta-Knight's sword, Galaxia, has the ability to sense dark presences and because of this, he sets course using his Halberd for King Dedede's castle assuming he's the source of it. Meanwhile, a long time friend of Dedede's, Adeliene, visits the castle to see the king once again and hopefully can catch up. During this time, Meta-Knight uses the Halberd to attack the castle and infiltrates insides, fighting through the Waddle Dees and confronting the king himself, unaware of Adeliene's presence.
Due to Meta-knight's attack, Adeliene starts to show fear, becoming vulnerable to corruption. The "Dark Presence" that Galaxia sensed, Mephiles, . Once she's defeated, she's under King Dedede's care while Meta-Knight locates Mephiles, pursuing the darklord though to no avail. Meta Knight briefly apoligizes for his assumption, however, because of Corrupted Adeliene's attack it left paint all over the castle, in the end Maxi shows up and takes a sample of it.
Federation Space: Alternate Distant Future (Ridley, Dark Samus, Blood Falcon, Andross, James McCloud -Corrupted Memory-) [KEY: Alph, Brittany, and Charlie]
An alliance is formed between the Galactic Federation and The Cornerian Defense Force, thus creating the Galactic Federation Defense Force. The Star Fox Team and the many Bounty Hunters including Samus & Captain Falcon are amongst this team. However, an Evil alliance was formed as well between Andross' Empire, The Space Pirates, and Dark Million. This started a war, and the heroes side with the G.F.D.F to put an end to this evil alliance once and for all. A strike team is sent down to Venom to destroy a superweapon being built there, while General Peppy and Admiral Dane launch a full scale attack on the dark alliances primary fleet. The Great Fox hard docks with the enemy flagship, and the heroes left to the space battle are sent in to confront Ridley and Blood Falcon. Andross sends a message to Fox about how he killed James, causing a momentary lapse in Fox' composure, allowing the Corruption to sieze him for a second, scanning his memories of James McCloud. The Corruption then creates a shadow clone of JAmes McCloud and his Arwing, forcing Star Fox and any space combat capable RPer to face him. The Venom strike team confront Dark Samus and Mech Andross planetside, within the enemy base.
Upon the conclusion of the battle, the heroes are granted use of a military dropship for travel around Federation Space. On their way back to the portal, an SOS is discovered on a nearby planet, and the heroes investigate. This is eventually revealed to be Charlie, Brittany, and Alph, stranded on PNF-404, possessing a Key, which they gladly reward their rescuers with.
World of Bonds: Kalos (Mewtwo)
Maxi and Arachne are witnessed boarding a tourney-bound ocean liner by heroes that enter the world. Maxi goes incognito until they reach Grandiose Island. Underground, MAxi meets with Giovanni with plans to mind control the Pokemon of the tournament. The plan is hatched, and Mewtwo comes to stop the mind control, only to be Corrupted by Maxi. The heroes then fight Mewtwo and Maxi.
World of Life: Smashville + Wuhu Island Resort
Likely to be left alone as a vacation spot of sorts.
World of Giants: Xenoblade World -Not Named- (CORRUPTION) (No Host) [KEY: Zanza]
Ganon comes to find out why the Corruption has slowed in this world, encounters one of its gods, Zanza. Ganon covets Zanza's power and flees. Zanza is pissed that interlopers have come through the portal, afraid his people may leave. He confronts the heroes when they arrive, their reaction determined whether he attacks them. Ganon discovers the Telethia and uses them against the heroes.
Eventually the heroes, Ganon, and Zanza meet in a Mexican Standoff, and a fight commences. When Ganon and/or Zanza is weakened, Ganon will use his Triforce and the Corruption to sieze Zanza and merge with him, creating a new boss. Upon defeat, a wounded Ganon escapes and Zanza admits defeat. He gives the heroes his Key, requesting that they remove the Corruption from his world.
World of History: Pac-World (CORRUPTION) (No Host) [KEY: Druaga, taken by Arachne]
World of History, one of the most venerated and ancient worlds of the Smash Gate, known for its careful preservation of the pioneering days. It's archives are it's greatest pride, the Namco Museum, where all records of ancient heroes and villains are kept. Maxi sends Arachne to tempt Betrayus with the ability to give life to inanimate objects, the power stolen from the corrupted Adeleine. Arachne gives Betrayus a device with this power and leaves him to it.
Betrayus sets out and sneaks into the Namco Museum, using the device to create an army, bringing back four generals, as well as the evil demon Druaga, who Betrayus possesses, making himself even more powerful. With the Museum as a base, he sends his army to conquer Pac-World, but the heroes fight through and make it to Betrayus himself. After Betrayus is defeated, the key is removed from Druaga and Arachne appears to take it.
World of Machines: Endless Frontier (CORRUPTION) (Blue) [KEY: Mai Tierra]
A new portal to the Smash Gate, this one appeared out of nowhere, leading to a desolate land where nearly people have fallen to some kind of "Sleeping Sickness." Saya intrudes on the world, planning on stealing the unguarded Mecha that lie within. Meanwhile, Maxi enters the world with similar yet different purposes, and remains undetected for some time. Soon after, Reiji and Xiaomu enter in pursuit of Saya. Saya encounters the heroes, deceiving them into helping her locate the wreckage known as Mai Tierra.
Maxi trails the group to the wreckage and inspects the robot pods, feeling a resonance with one. After some persuasion from Saya, Maxi fuses with the W-Number, becoming a battle android. Saya's true plans are revealed, angering Blue and allowing the Corruption to take hold of him. Saya and Maxi lave though the gate to Shibuya and leaves Dokumezu and Dokugozu with Blue to face the heroes, while the heroes get help from a mysterious hero who knows Blue very well, along with Reiji and Xiaomu. A key can be found in a pod within Mai Tierra.
World of Progress: Earth 2018 (CORRUPTION) (Copy Megaman) [KEY: Wily, obtained automatically by baddies]
Saya comes to the World to find out why Corruption hasn't been spreading, and runs into Copy Megaman. She neutralizes Copy Megaman and reprograms him to obey her commands. Copy Megaman is sent to incite chaos, amd infiltrates Dr. Wily's base, turning the robots againstv their master. Wily escapes to Dr. Light with a bot tracker, giving it to him to help stop the robot outbreak that soon follows. The heroes arrive to see the devastation caused by the rebelling bots. Protoman, Megaman, and Duo aid the heroes, possibly Bass as well. Once the robot masters are defeated, and Copy Megaman brought down, the Corruption seizes him and transforms him into Copy X, and fights the heroes again. The baddies acquire the key hidden in Wily's base.
World of Fighters: Earth 1994 (Various fighters corrupted by M. Bison) [KEY: Gouken]
The World Martial Arts Tournament is being held, attracting spectators and fighters from all around. The heroes arrive before unfree beginning of the tourney, allowing them to join if they wish. M. Bison observes the tourney, looking for fighters to corrupt and take control of to have them join Shadaloo. Chun-li, Cammy, and Guile are sent to investigate foul play when fighters begin showing strange dark powers. Heroes not in the tourney can join the investigation, and eventually Juri Hans interrupts the investigation, causing trouble because she wants to. She teases that someone is meddling with the fighters before leaving.
Eventually the investigation group discovers the culprit and move to confront M. Bison. Akuma also intervenes at the end of the tournament to try and awaken Ryu's evil intent. With the crisis averted, Gouken appears and grants the heroes the Key, entrusting it to them as he feels they know what to do with it.
World of Hunters: Monster Hunter world (CORRUPTION) (White Fatalis) [KEY: White Fatalis]
A call for help is made by the Hunter Guild for assistance. Maelys is found corrupting monsters. The heroes must protect Dundorma from monster assault and bring down Maelys. The Key sits atop the Tower, guarded by a corrupted White Fatalis.
World of Speed: Sonic World (Eggman) [KEY: Ancient Ruins, taken by Mephiles]
Eggman hosts a racing tournament in order to obtain the chaos emeralds, which he plans to use to open these ancient ruins. The tournament's grand prize is the treasure locked away within the ruins, however in truth Eggman wants the Key that sits within them. The tournament begins, with the first race Capture the Emerald between 15 racers. Whoever possesses an emerald when the race is over makes it to the next race, with one lucky racer going as well.
The semi-finals split the eight racers into two teams. The team to steal all six emeralds in play will participate in the finals. The final track is built around the ruins, and the racer to collect all seven emeralds is the winner. Before the winner can collect their reward, Eggman springs a trap, holding everyone captive within a force field while he goes in to take the Key. A player or Tails will come and destroy the field, allowing everyone to follow him in, but Mephiles rushes in and disables Eggman, taking the Key. As the heroes arrive, Mephiles reveals his intent and his affiliation with the baddies and corrupts the ruins, Eggman with them.
Mephiles then uses the Corruption to clone Eggman, summoning Egg Wyvern and Egg Emperor. Eggman and Dark Eggman wield the two bosses as one, Egg Wyvern Lord. Mephiles then flees as Shadow gives chase using Chaos Control. After the battle, Sonic tells the group to go find Shadow and Mephiles, and stays behind to handle the ruins.
World of Deception: Shadow Moses Island (CORRUPTION) (Liquid Ocelot) [KEY: Metal Gear Ray]
Liquid Ocelot is amassing an army to take over the Smash worlds. The heroes must fight through or sneak past hordes of powerful and futuristic enemies to reach Liquid Ocelot, creator of the villains' battleship, Ouroboros. A partially constructed version of the Ouroboros' ship class can be found, and data plans can be stolen from it, allowing the heroes an edge in the assault on the Ouroboros. M. Bison will appear and confront the heroes partway through, calling over security and a few small Metal Gears to attack. He flees after the battle, allowing the heroes to press on.
They eventually find Liquid in a large room with a giant prototype Metal Gear, about to launch it for a test. Luiquid remarks about them being the bugs M. Bison mentioned were scurrying around, then invites them to be the test dummies for the new MG's test run. The MG moves out into the Snowfield, where the heroes have to fight it. Upon it's failure, M. Bison appears before Liquid, revealing that they knew his real plans, mocking him for trying to conquer the Smash worlds before executing him. M. Bison then sets off a self-destruct sequence. If the heroes neglect to disable it and instead flee through the portal, Snake or Raiden will disable part of it, resulting in only a small portion of the base being destroyed.
Strange Land: Shibuya,Tokyo 20XX [Gate to the Corrupted Land & Big Baddies Domain] (CORRUPTION)
Due to the dimensional instability of this world, the ancient heroes were able to create a new world connected to Shibuya, the one used to seal away the Corruption. Unfortunately this was a horrible oversight, for as time went on and strife, despair, fury, and other negative emotions began to build up once more, the Corruption was able to seep through the cracks of Shibuya's dimensional walls, paving the way to all worlds. It is here that the Corruption Gate ultimately rests, hidden beneath the city, sitting at the center of the big bads' main base, leaking its foul stench, and the final end goal of the villains.
If the Villains open the gate, Corruption shall envelop all worlds, beginning it's work on full force and empowering the big bads, as well as releasing Neo, the source of the Corruption.
Once the heroes have collected all remaining keys not possessed by the baddies, the baddies taunt the heroes to attack them before overloading the portal leading between the Smash Gate and Shibuya. With the heroes unable to reach the gate, M. Bison is tricked into directly attacking the Smash Gate with their battleship, the Ouroboros, to finish off the heroes, but the heroes will fight back. The outcome of the battle vs the Ourboros determines what happens next.
A) If the ship is neutralized, the heroes can use it to access Shibuya via it's personal transporter. The ship remains at the Smash Gate.
B) If the Ouroboros is destroyed, after some time, Reiji, Xiaomu, and Genesis investigate Endless Frontier and find the Schlafen Celeste with its teleport device. The heroes use this to enter Shibuya and confront the baddies.
With either way, they teleport into the final base, and begin their attack. They make their way into the base, fighting against powerful enemies, finally reaching the center to confront the big bads. No matter the outcome, the gate is opened, leading to the final plot.
World of Corruption: Corrupted Land
With the Corruption gate open, the Corruption sealed within rushes out, empowering the baddies. But most of them betray each other. They no longer need help now that they possess immense power. Ganon and Mephiles turn on the others, causing the baddies to fight each other. Before the situation worsens, Neo appears as a phantom and removes Ganon and Mephiles, transporting them back to their own worlds. Maelys remains loyal to Neo as Maxi and Saya announce their intent of betrayal. Neo merely laughs, explaining that they couldn't possibly defeat him, and leaves for the center of his world, Maelys following.
Saya and Maxi leave while Maelys moves in to face Neo, while presumably the heroes go in to challenge Neo. They soon find themselves blocked by hordes upon hordes of enemies. Deciding to screw with Neo's plans, Saya opens the base and reactivates the Shibuya portal, allowing NPCs to come and aid the heroes, cutting a path to Neo. The heroes face off against the final battle against the source of the Corruption. After they defeat him, he merely begins absorbing more Corruption to heal himself, until Dimentio takes the stage and steals Neo's power, using it to destroy him.
With his new power, Dimentio becomes nearly unstoppable as he faces off against the heroes in the true final battle. Dimentio is defeated, and it is revealed that a fragment of Neo's power still exists. It enacts one last act of vengeance and destabilizes the Corruption World. The heroes must escape or be erased from existence, but Dimentio, now devoid of his Corruption powers, tries to prevent their escape. Upon escaping the world back to Shibuya, the Keys are used to seal the gate, preventing the world destruction from damaging Shibuya.
Epilogue
Two months later, Peach and Zelda host a grand festival in the Mushroom Kingdom to celebrate the defeat of the Corruption. Maxi, Saya, and Arachne join as guests, more or less pardoned for their powerful assistance in the final hours.
Concluding the events, the Smash Gate uses an ancient power and restores any worlds that were completely destroyed during the story. The Ouroboros, if it survived the battle, can be used as a Smash Run esque minigame stage.
