Deep in the ancient mountains, where no man should tread, there it stands. The obelisk of a long dead culture, the wonder of an ancient glory.
The Temple of The Book.
Inside its walls carved from the mountain itself lays a great power, a book who's pages know past, present, and future. But now the main chamber rests empty, the pedestal where the book was safe is barren. Its power now lies in the hands of a mad man.
The madman's power was great, so great it over shadowed even the books cry, its cry for its champion. But the cry was only suppressed, not killed, and now it reaches the halls of the once holy place, its echo flies through halls and corridors, searching for the one who is meant to answer the call.
Then the cry falls silent, it has reached its destination. The sound deadens in a circular chamber, the walls littered with carvings in an ancient rest, the chambers only inhabitant a single solitary statue in the center.
A statue of the finest white marble, a statue of a man out of time, a man whose life and people were taken from him so that he may fulfill a greater purpose, and as the cry dies in the chamber, and all dies silent the marble cracks.
First a single fracture along the wrist, then another and another and another. From each crack a great white light shoots forth from beneath. Soon entire chunks begin to fall and what is beneath moves. As more falls the faster he moves until the floor is littered with sheets of cracked marble and there, on the mark where the statue once stood knelt a man, the man in the stone.
Slowly he rose to his feet and began to walk, tripping over legs unused for eons. and as he noticed his surroundings he began to run, stumbling over the air itself.
Soon the doors of the temple burst open and the man stumbled out, but as the daylight hit him he stopped. He dropped his arms and looks up directly to the sun.
The power he feels causes him to fall to his knees, but still he looks, and as he does visions come rushing to him, visions of what had happened in his slumber and visions of what he must do.
He bowed his head and clenched his fists in anger, he felt the pain of the people, the suffering this mad man had caused with the very power that now gave him life.
His gaze turned to the sun again, for now he knows the name of his enemy and he will let the heavens know it too. The roar must have been heard for leagues around, if any soul was in the mountains they knew they were not alone. He cried out his pain He cried out his duty He cried out the name of evil
"CRROOOOOOOOOOOWW!!"

The days and nights of this world were often calm and kind but varied from such to frustratingly chaotic.
In his irrational haste to escape the chill of the mountains he had come across nothing but the rage of failure time and time again. That is, until the inhuman noise reached him, like the sound from a dream it touched the boy.
Climbing from the icy freeze, he trudged for miles, his personal escort all either dead or stranded somewhere beyond his reach. Not that it mattered, they could- could -be saved in time, but he was left here to brave the elements alone, without any source of food or warmth.
When the boy thought about his future, he had never seen this coming. But then he had always thought looking to the future in the past was pointless. As was looking at the past from the present.
Stumbling upon the ungodly doors of some ancient, forgotten edifice, and rammed himself against them, relying on them for support for a precious few minutes. It was cool from the ice, but it's presence here promised shelter beyond, or hinted at the possibility at the very least. That alone was a worthy risk to take.
Grabbing a massive ring from the door he leaned upon, it became quickly evident that the doors were sealed shut. Frustrated by the lack of movement but weary from his travels, the young man raised his sword above his head, and with a cry of rage splashed a wave of heat across the door, thawing its hinges and threshold for a precious moment, which he took advantage of to open the door.
Stumbling within, the young man slammed the door shut and hastily sheathed his sword, withdrawing his hood and falling to the snow covered ground, weary from his journey. Before him he saw a man, but he felt obligated to ask if anyone was present anyway.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" He gasped "My name is Roy, from the land of Pharae...."

Raum, still in a daze from his new found life, looked up at the sound of a new voice. Before him he saw a boy clothed armor, the sight was strange him. In Haven a boy of such an age would never be allowed armor, much less the sword that the boy hung from his side.
With great difficulty Raum struggled to his feet, slipping on the new snow. He lifted his head to look at the boy, then pointed a finger as he spoke.
"who....... how....get here.."
The words did not properly form in his mouth from centuries of non use.
He hopped the boy was here on coincidence and not to invade the temple, for if that were the case the boy would have to fall.

Roy lowered his head and wheezed out a weary breath, then returned his gaze to the man.
"My name is Roy, and I am a member of the SSS- as well as Marquess of Pherae." He shivered, his body mostly unresponsive to his thoughts and his extremities getting numb. "I need... shelter, mainly." He said finally.
"I stumbled upon your home by accident, and was drawn by your shouting- I do hope we can come to a peaceful decision about all this."

Raum sensed no threat from the boy, but then again was it safe to let him in to the temple. A sacred place of power such as this should not be treded on by light souls. He decided again to try and speak.
"Not home...prison."
This time the words came smoother, he had regained a small bit of his ability but it seemed it would be a while before he recaptured his former eloquence.
Raum looked back to the temple doors, he hated to go back into that place. That place that held him while everything he knew and loved fell before his bodiless eyes. And why should he go back in? For some reason the cold had no effect on him, as though his very heart had begun to radiate heat, but then he looked back at the boy.
This child wouldn't last long out here in the mountains womb, and as much as it would pain Raum to set foot back into the the presence of the place that held him for so long he decided he had no choice. A life, even if it was one that he did not know, was precious above all else.
He turned his back to the boy and made a waving gesture with his hand.
"come."
With that he began to force himself back into the temple.

A prison? Here?
The location was certainly remote enough for a prison, but this wasn't an area used by anyone in particular, so then....
"You said this place was a prison?" Roy said as he followed the man into the confides of the stronghold. "A prison for what?"
He knew he was being too curious for his own good, but these were times where curiosity could pay off with good information, possibly even great information. And who knows? He could get some seriously good stuff from this guy, this prisoner. He considered asking his name, but decided he had dogged him with enough questions without waiting for a response already.

Raum turned back to face the boy. He was a curious ine this child, although Raum supposed that if HE found a temple with a strange armored man inside he would be asking questions too. So he decided it was best to awnser the boy, as ell as he could, and get on with it.
The first question the boy asked was the hardest, Raum didnt feel, nor did he think he could in his prescant state, explain how this place had become a prison to him, so he decided to awnser with only a single word. this place was a prison for...
"Power."
Raum turned again to enter, and this time he hoped the boy to follow.

Hastily, Roy beat a path through the snow to the entrance and hurried himself inside the structure, seeking its warmth and protection more than any symbolic reasons for its being here.
Upon arriving within, the young man took in the scents of the new place- a scent he had taken in many times before. The smell of ancient stone, secrets, and powers. It was a place both familiar and alien to him, a place the likes of which he had seen many of but never this specifically.
Pressing his hand against the sheath of his sword for the reassurance that it was still there, and stepped further into the structure, half hypnotized by the nostalgic scent.
"Power." He parroted, recalling his own glory days. Those were the days alright, but they were long gone. "I've seen my share of power over the years."

Raum looked back at the boy as he stood, bewildered by the temple that was now his shelter. The boy mouthed something about power, but Raum didn't catch it, he was too wrapped in his disdain for this place.
Raum waited until the boy seemed he was ready, then continued walking, proceeding deeper into the temples chambers. Maybe taking the boy to the place Raum had woken from would provides some clues, maybe this boy knew something...

This post is made controlling the other character present in this thread with expressed consent from the controller of that character.
Roy strode boldly into the temple, his eyes tracking everything within. His mind wandered as he absentmindedly stared, his gaze trailing across everything.
Snapping from his stupor, Roy spun on his heel to face the man, his guide, with another question upon his lips, but was more surprised to see the man completely gone. The door hung open, and the cold had found its way in- what kind of mad man would go out in this?
"Sir!" Roy stumbled out the door again, suddenly and painfully aware of his own weakness again. He stared outward into the raging blizzard, calling again and again, but... no response. With a heavy look, Roy lowered his head as he slipped back inside, slowly sliding the stone door back in place.
He tried to find a place where a man might stay so that he may sleep the night, but he found nothing, in the end. That troubled him- how did that man stay here with no furnishing of any kind? He supposed on didn't need a blanked nor bed in order to survive, but he didn't look the type to simply power through it. But he didn't look like much of anything, really.
Shaking the thoughts from his head, Roy lied near a scattered amount of straw that may have been a bed long ago, sitting to rest alone.
This thread has ended.
