"Wah... I'm kinda bored today.." Today was a day like any other for Nouri. The weather was nice a fair, the wind had a warm sort of feeling to it, and well, he was on a simple plain in a simple little grassland. No flowers, or any animals as far as he could see. All he had left to do was just cross his arms behind his head and lay back in blades of grass that surrounded him. Boring and yet so relaxing. Obviously, something had to be done.
Hm.. an idea! An idea so silly.. it just had to work in this case.
"Fourth Wall Breaking Powers Activate!" It was time for a grand summon in a thread that was made for the pure intent of level grinding.. and sharpening some rp fighting tactics. He called upon powers that he did not even have but that were granted to him for one specific thread for a certain person's own amusement. He summoned a certain swordsman to do battle with him with a few rules in mind.
1. No one dies in this thread. (more rules to come when the person shows up oho)
2. These events will be erased from memory just because it can be.
Now.. for that certain guy to show up so it could begin

[Maelys, Evi, Nouri] [random city, moved to random grassland] The twins, Maelys and Evi, were walking down the street. Maelys`s hands were placed behind his head. Maelys:"Man, I just wish there was someone that I could have a challenging fight with." Evi:"Ya know, there is something to be said for peace and quiet" Maelys:"What? That it`s boring as hell?" Evi:"Oh, shut up. Ever since we got here, you`ve always been looking for a fight! " Maelys stopped and turned toward Evi. Maelys:" Exactly. You never know when someone will attack us for real, and I want to know how people here fight, so that why I battle everyone I can. I won`t lose you, Evi. Not here, not anywhere." (OOC: As you can see, Maelys is very protective of his sister)IC: Evi:"..." Suddenly there was a flash of white. In the spot where the twins had just been was nothing! [grassland] Another flash, and they were in a sprawling field of green. An expanse of nothing but grass. Except for the young man standing a bit aways. He noticed the twins. ? ? ?:"Now, this I could call a powerful swordsman. But are you powerful at all? You sir, I challenge to a fight!" Maelys: still surprised"Alright, I accept your challenge. On one condition. You will not attack my sister, and she won`t attack you." Nouri:"Fair enough. By the way, my names Nouri. Now, lets dance!" The battle song.

Hm.. well he does seem like brute from this far away. Tall, brooding.. the black armor and the giant blade he could see sheathed on his back. This could be a problem considering range and what not.. and if he could walk around with that thing on his back, the speed of those swings could be faster then he could have imagined from a weapon that size..
Best to keep a lookout and simply take the intuitive. Better to start by seeing how he would react to action. Nouri darted forward towards The Black Swordsman, empty handed for all intents and purposes.. He had no actions in mind now.. since this was battle anyway. Who needs time to think? He would react accordingly

[Maelys, Evi, Nouri] [random grassland]
Maelys was at first, for half a second, puzzled as to why Nouri had rushed him without a weapon. So Maelys did not draw his own weapon, since he sensed no evil intent in this man. Maelys positioned his left hand to the lower left of his face, guarding, as a karate stance, and rushed at Nouri. Maelys threw a right handed punch to Nouri`s left rib, a jab, to test him. If this man can withstand my punch without doubling over,he thought, he`ll be the first. With that, Maelys hoped for a good fight.

Hehe.. Alright, so he did something unexpected now. He simply decided to go barehanded as well. Interesting in the sense that he honestly didn't see it coming but it suited what he was going to try anyway. Nouri's forward dash seemed like any ordinary rush but, it wasn't quite that. A thief in general has to be sly and crafty at times and when performing a feint, that was no exception. In a case like this, martial arts like Baguazhang could help, especially some of the side stepping techniques.
With pinpoint precision and without a moments notice, Nouri corrected his movements to assume the stance needed to take on this new attack. His own right foot quickly moved behind his left, both feet pointing forward as Maelys took his swing. The slippy little rogue twisted his left ankle so that his feet were facing each other and with that same motion, he used his foot like a henge and turned with the motion and half circled around to his left side, just in time to dodge the attack and put him in place of an opening, which Nouri attempted to take advantage of with a swift open handed thrust with his right. His target.. right at the side of the swordsman's head

[giving this box up to save tme]
Maelys wondered what Nouri would do, and it was quite different than what he had expected. instead, Nouri had sidestepped to the left, and followed up with a palm-thrust. Though he couldn`t see where it was aimed, he didnt need to. Maelys kept his turning momentum heading away from Nouri, fist close to body. Then, quickly,Maelys brought his left hand down, and his right up, to form a square with his fingers. Then he angled his feet to propel him forward into a role, just as Nouri`s thrust the side of Maelys`s head, the power reduced hanks to his momentum away from Nouri. His hands hit the ground instead of his head, rolled through, and landed right side up, slapping the ground to stop his momentum. then he twisted his body around to the left, jumping at the same time to get up. He then took off his broadsword, and stabbed it into the ground. He would not need that, but if he eventualy needed it, he could always make it back to it.
(in point, Maelys is a bit faster for getting his broadsword off of his back)

Aha! What an interesting guy he was. It was pretty odd to do exactly what he was doing right now in terms of fighting but, after he had seen his initial reaction to his first attack, he somewhat expected something like planting that sword into the ground. But what was it that he was trying to accomplish with this? It didn't seem to be meant as an insult of sorts but.. he was holding back. Was he trying to make it a fair fight since it seemed as if Nouri didn't have nary a weapon on hand.. or was he trying to spare his sister from the site of blood spray that could ensue if he really started swinging that giant blade?
How cool of him!
But this was a fight and all was fair in love and war. If you wanted to give up an advantage, that was alright. However, if you payed for it, he hoped he wouldn't beat himself up after this was said and done. So far, at least he could see what type of fight he was in for. As for if he could win, no sense in worrying about it yet. Instead, a bit of a smirk stretched across his little lips, as clearly, he was completely poised for what was to come. Seeing as he dropped that giant slab of metal on his back, he could move a bit more freely so, may as well find out. "Alright then Mr "I don't need my sword!" Show me the minor speed increase." he nonchalantly noted

Maelys:"Such a petty taunt. But can you handle my next move?"
Maelys judged the Wind, angle, and required speed of this particular tricky move. Taught to him specifically by Master Tom, he had the details he needed. (OOC: real move that i know, and Master Tom runs a Dojo that is part of Premier Martial Arts. I alone, for my kicking range, know this move in my class.)IC: He ran up, quickly crouched, and bounced up, his right leg faster than his left body side, about to deliver a kick to Nouri`s chin.
(OOC: the move is not finished after the initial first kick.)

Well, any taunt was better then none ya know? Besides, the idea wasn't to insult him, it was to give him a little bit of time to prepare himself for the next attack and take advantage of what little knowledge his opponent had about him. It was easy to tell his opponent was using karate from the get go based on that punch he threw so why not indulge him with a karate technique from way back in the day?
The oblique muscles on each side of his torso had tensioned before his opponent approached and he had been separating the balance between both his upper body and his lower body all while pretending to stand in a normal manner. For as The Black Swordsman neared, Nouri was manipulating his center of gravity and exaggerating the movements of his left leg, moving it just enough to fool an observer that all balance was on that leg and he was going to step forward. But that was incorrect. his balance was on his right leg, meaning that the one that was going to move.
His opponent sprung up at him quickly and aimed a front kick right at his chin which was all the incentive he needed to dodge. Nouri used his waist muscles to actually make his torso lurched forward a bit and for a moment, it looked like he was actually going to walk right into a crushing blow. Funny.. as since he had stepped back he actually back stepped to avoid the attack with a bit of ease. He stayed somewhat relaxed and simply stayed flexible as he had a feeling, that wasn't all there was to that attack.
So far, Nouri had two basic advantages. His first true advantage was much more coordinated then his opponent in terms of movement. For you see, the young thief unknowingly had an awareness of himself that is completely superhuman in nature.
Controlling any muscle in his body only took so much as instinct and he always knew just where his center of gravity was. This was perfect for complex moves such as using Gamaku [The japanese term for those muscles and the name of the actual move.] Karate experts use it as a way to control the center of gravity and the speed of an attack or.. for combat, confuse the enemy and make them calculate the incorrect flow of movements. Lucky for him, his clothing hid every bit of his torso and made it hard to see if he was using such a skill.
Also, there was also one more factor that came into play and another Nouri didn't know about just yet. Simply put, it was his unpredictably. Nothing about his actions could truly be predicted and his own movements are quite difficult to keep track of unless the person who was observing him was omniscient. Maelys wouldn't be able to really predict his actions or at least do so with accuracy. The best he could do would be to do like any other martial artist would do and general feel of where an attack would land.
Now it was time to see what Maelys would do now.

Nouri had evaded his first kick, but it was fairly easy to dodge, for it was not the power of this move. Still in mid-air, Maelys kept spinning to the left. He followed up with a left back-foot kick. This wasn`t the moves main point, but it was the part with the most power. Maelys prepared his arm to spring away from his body.

He was still twisting around huh? No matter for the most part. There was only one other move he could really do at this point and he didn't have much range to really work with. Nouri stepped in this time and dipped down a bit, just enough to allow the kick to pass overhead and barely miss him altogether. It was a feat only made possible by his bodily awareness and reflexes. But now he was in range, and with Maelys in mid kick, he wouldn't be able to get his footing but so quickly... not to mention his groin was exposed as well. Nouri's left hand streaked towards that certain target, and a blade erupted from his sheave in mid motion. Since he was so flexible with his armor, it couldn't be but so thick and that meant that he could stab through that plate and end this battle quicky.

The blade that came out of Nouri`s arm was quite a surprise. Although it wouldn`t do anything. OOne pet peeve of some swordsmen is, if you have armor, make it be strong enough to withstand your strongst swing. So that little peeling knife he had wouldn`t do much except for maybe an impressive cut mark, judging by the speed. It was a pretty impressive move in itself. But as Maelys continued with the move, he landed his right foot by snapping it back, forcing his right foot down faster. And his right foot landed next to Nouri`s right. Then, Maelys`s right hand snapped out and aimed for Nouri`s stomach, which would trip him.

Ah darn.. should have made that a thrust instead of a swipe. Ah well, what is done is done anyway and he had more things to worry about. A failed attack meant he had to change tactics a bit. He couldn't really slice into armor with his blade like this so.. like the slick gato he was, he spring out to his left to evade the blow, reaching into the left side of his trench coat upon landing.

Maelys backed away when his trip missed. He was trying to think of a possible advantage that he might have.
Maelys:"Well, your the first to actually be able to even land a hit on me in this place!"
Maelys thought, and decided to let Nouri decide the next move. He was still in his guard position.

Ah.. the first. That's a lovely thing to know."Ara.. really now? I suppose that makes sense since your not taking this fight seriously so.." turning his back to Maelys, Nouri jiggled and wiggled his little tushie, giving a few slaps to the right cheek for good measure. Now this.. was a taunt for sure! "Neener Neener! You can't touch because you stink!" Yup, childish mode was activated. He even whipped back around and stuck his tongue out and pulled his eye lids down too! Perhaps the coat reach was nothing more then a ploy to throw him off too!
