Members of the NES site, specfically the members who are involved with wanting to change the RP.. I will make a personal appeal to you. Probably my last appeal.
More than that, it's an appeal, it's something I feel needs to be said.
What your doing will not help this RP. In fact, what your doing will proceed in putting in the final nails in this coffin of something that could have been something good.
When this RP came up, it was headed by a wonderful member named Smashbro. Despite some personal roadblocks I saw from him he obviously had something this RP does need more of, dedication. He loved RPing and wanted to continue to do it. This doesn't mean he was however, good at creating a real working RP.. but luckily he had a ton of friends who hadnt' really RP'ed before and he was able to give them something they all loved.
I can all tell you loved RP1, but if I was here I would hated it.. and any veteran RP'er coming in would laugh at it. Maybe in a nice way.. not because it's stupid it's becuase it's something very old school and something that most people have ditched. A site has to be more than just appealing to the majority of people now sometimes, sometimes a site has to be about appealing other members so we can get this site from going stale because we have no traffic.
That honesty is the reason we can't get a single of the hundreds of people without lives to join this site. We are vauge enough to join, we are active enough to join. But it's because our site doesn't look like a fun site to join. The RP was simplistic and uninteresting, simplistic RP's are a dime a dozen and most people who have been RPing and most of the people wanting to RP are looking for something more. They are looking for a fun RP to join, a fair system of entry and active, and I'm sorry but most are looking for people with intermediate writing skills.
More than the RP, the site itself still has problems.. but I can talk about those in another place. I have alot of issues with the way everyone just discarded a years worth of hard work and growth. But this is soley about the RP for now.
I started doing what I did because I have been in your shoes completely. I wanted to keep this site alive and I wanted to make something special. More than that, I know what would make me happy and what you all used to have wasn't it. What Cell and Jukan had when I joined was okay, minuses the Combat and Authority that made no sense.
What I made back then (the Energy Bank system) was honestly simplistic but I'm sorry, your all a bunch of godmodding cheaters when it comes to RPing. It WAS simplistic but you guys try to get too many fantastic and unfair things approved and RP Staff have to keep that from happening. When everyone is immortal, there is never going to be any fun or drama. Because no one can win and lose a war that no one dies in. There can't be any struggle without death. It's the honest way things work.
And to fight, you need a understandable way of fighting. You all can say that you know what your characters should be capable of, but I have seen first hand from approving your characters that you want things that are simply unfair to the people around you. You all don't know what your character should be capable of, you want godmod. You want power that no one can stand against, and when everyone wants that it's just a stupid clusterCENSORED.
And when it comes to simplified templates.. if you can't put effort into an app, if your character isn't important enough to actually sit down and put some effort into, in my opinion then you don't even really want it. Nothing worth having to you is something you'll just BS.
I feel there are many reason why going back to RP0 will lose many of our current active RPers. Look at who is even RPing right now. Almost none of you who are whining about the RP have even picked up a character and tried this system. SLE is the ONLY one I see who has any right to be speaking, and even he has been trying it for a total of 2 threads. Anyone who hasnt' even tried the system.. (not trying to make a CHARACTER, made a charactrer and actually RPed with someone) in my opinion is equal to someone who whines about a game without even doing more than seeing a screenshot. This includes people like BB, MM, and Kunekune who have RPed in the past but barely in the past months and never since the new system was brought up.
You can't actually have an opinion on something unless you have tried it first hand. You can't just look at it and instantly decide it's fail. I feel that all of your opinions are uneducated and dangerous.
In the end, I can't stop you from wanting to sieze what it was like in the past, and I'm sure the old people will be happy. But...
I still think you'll kill the RP. The Rp Staff is just as tired as you are, and we are tired of tyring to make the RP something you will like because what you all like and want is vauge and not something that we actually can understand, let alone put to practice because no one says point blank what needs to happen. Then, when we work for MONTHS on a system, you literally go and tell us it's stupid and needs to be scrapped when half of you haven't even tried it. I call fail right there, you whine about us not putting things out.. but where is our moral? Flushed down the toilet because of the LGN incident and because our hard work goes completely unnoticed by all of you and you want us to have wasted months of our lives because you didn't like how the box looked to the game you just bought. Just play the game and stop whining for once, please?
