Nearly two years ago, I came to Smash Fan Forums seeking some Brawl pointers, and maybe a few good WiFi Matches. I was weary about coming to a forum; I had some bad luck in the past. However, I not only found a home but a community and a family. Over the years the community lost people, and gained new people. In the past, I have always had negative feelings towards those who leave, and those who leave, and then come back a few days later--or even a few hours later. I could not realize why I loathed them leaving until recently. I hated them because they just packed up and left without saying goodbye or without an explanation.
My time has come as well. I must join those who have left the site with only their name and memories left behind. I will not be joining you all for the upcoming year of 2010.
However, I do recall making a promise to someone, or to the forum itself, that I will never delete my account as long as I live. However, I must move on from this forum. So to that effect, I am asking that a moderator or admin disable my account until further notice. That way the account is still up, but I will not have access to it. No one will. As I said before, I loathed those who just randomly deleted their accounts and left without any explanation or goodbyes. So, trying not to be a hypocrite, you all deserve the truth on why I am leaving.
I feel at home and accepted at places where I am useful. I have always believed that hard work and dedication yields acceptance and or respect, even if no rewards are given. Doing something for the good of the team, or unit. During the summer, many of you remember how I went on multiple rants about how I am completely ignored and invisible to many people, which is true. I am the crew backstage in a play making it possible for the star to have their shining moment. I got fed up and pissed (Not at anyone here, at a situation in real life) and came here to vent. However, I did see how I was ignored a bit here, and I did not like it at all. I became more aware that stuff I was doing was just getting swept under the rug and ignored, which saddened me. I felt shunned, and somewhat hated, so I took a two week leave from the site. When I returned, I found myself stripped of my mod position, and useless. The most I could do was voice my opinion in staff, which quickly lost its novelty.
It is because of my neglect and selfishness that these things happened to me, and I am the only one who I can blame for this. Now, all I feel when I come on the site is sadness and longing for the past.
I would like to say a few words of goodbye to many people (In no particular order, I'm just reading off the top post count list)
Dobs - You have always been a good friend, and a crazy munchkin. Thanks for being awesome
Big Boss - I don't think I'll ever beat your Snake on Brawl, but sometime in the future you owe me a rematch. Continue to re-manly the forums without me my friend.
Angel - You have always possessed a gift that I will never have, and will never know what it is. Use it well. There have been times I hated and loved you, but know that I leave as your friend. Also, quit deleting your account. It's pissing me off.
SLE - Pretty much you're the coolest person who likes anime I know. You always show up right when people need you , and you never fail them. Good work my friend.
Devaux - You have been thrown into the position I always coveted. Don't let this family down, I know you'll do great. I'm sorry for basically booting you out of staff a long time ago.
Ghost - You have pretty much been right about every single thing in the history of forever. Continue with being amazing and have fun with it my friend. Also, my name has been Grey for the longest time on the forums, and I miss it being grey. If you could work some of your Ghost magic, I would love for it to be grey again.
Cell - You are da man, no matter what happens, even if you change your name. Good job with everything, and you should bring back your classic Cell avatar more often cause I love it.
Bert - Use your capes, Queen prowess, and overall awesomeness to get some! And then come brag about it.
Kune and Serras - You two hold the future of this forum for many years to come, which is a long time in interwebz time. Don't let this family fall.
LGN - I know that this will get to you one way or another. Thanks for always having my back and being my friend. Keep in runnin ness11, keep on runnin.
KOD - I also know that this will get to you, so thanks for making the forum a better place to be. Your constant contributions did not go unnoticed. Thank you.
To Everyone else - I'm sorry that I have failed you all, because I probably have one way or another. If you take nothing else from this, remember that if you have something special, don't let it slip away.
I would like to make clear that I am not wimping out of this decision and coming back in two weeks. However, I will return one day. One day in the far future. Maybe when the next Super Smash Bros comes out, hell maybe even if I somehow win a POSTYS Award.
