Ai slowly approached the world gate. A short man with a round hat with brown spots glared at her angrily. He was wearing an orange vest and donned a slight mustache. When Ai walked past the world gate, he yelled " 'Ey! No weapons in Mushroom Kingdom! 'and em over!" Ai had no idea how this small mushroom-like creature knew about her weapon, but she did as she was told. She figured this world would be peaceful enough that she could manage without her bow. And even then, she could survive, or at least steal it back later.
"Now that's more like it! 'ere!" he yelled as he tossed her a small electrical item. It showed an icon of her with x3 over it, a coin with x0 over it, and three circles made with broken lines. The other side showed a timer, it wasn't started yet, although she could tell by the clock next to it. "What's th-" But before she could finish her sentence, the toad was gone, along with the world gate. Before she realized it, Ai was right next to another one of those little things.
"Hi! You must be new here, or are you leaving?" "No, I'm new here, and you are?" "I'm toad, I'm a soldier around these parts, there are a lot of people who look like me, if you see any of them, their names are probably toad too." "Well, okay. So wh-" Ai was interrupted again, she felt like that might have been a common occurance here. "Come with me, the Princess is having a party today, everyone's invited. I guess that means you would be invited too." "O-okay" Ai answered reluctantly. She felt like she was just being dragged along for this.
Suddenly remembering her items, she asked the toad about them. "Wow, you were given that? You must have had some weapons with you when you came to the world. Here, we don't fight, so we take your weapons. But to protect you, we have some sort of defense." Ai nodded at the explanations. "The little machine tells you your stats. Here in mushroom kingdom, it doesn't really matter if you die, you can live again." Ai was intrigued, you can die here? From what? Although, she didn't want to interrupt, so she just waited to ask later. "Let's see." the toad said as he looked upward. He looked back and stated "Gravity is at 50% of Earth's original gravity" Good, try jumping. Ai did as she was told, amazed as she jumped so high. "See? That's how we can attack in this world, jumping." Jumping? How would that help?
"We're in luck, there's someone trying to break into the castle!" He pointed to a brown mushroom with feet ramming itself into the castle's walls. "Those things are called Goombas, they have some sort of odd skin, when you touch it, you sustain a lot of damage, and possibly even die. " "That's one heck of a defense system" Of course, Ai realized that was where the lives thing came into effect. "Of course it is, but of course, there's a way to defeat them." Ai wondered for a moment, then snapped back to realization. "Jumping?" "That's right. Here, just watch." The toad said as he motioned Ai to step back. He started running full speed at the Goomba. Then, just before getting within 20 feet of the monster, Toad jumped into the air and landed upon the mushroom. The thing literally disintegrated into the floor, Ai wondered what just happened.
"Surprised with the result? Worried about the poor thing? Don't be." Ai just realized the thing disintegrated, and she hadn't worried about what just happened to IT more than what happened altogether. There's a weak point in most monster's heads here. Once you hit it, the monster loses it's ability to hold it's figure, so it is destroyed. I wish this was an ultimate solution, but most monsters melt into the ground, and then are reborn seconds later, or they are sent back to bowser for material." She wondered, Bowser? What was this, all this was flying at her really fast.
"Bowser is a tyrannical tyrant turtle in this world. He's tried to take over Mushroom Kingdom numerous times." "Seems villainous to me." Ai noted, one of her few comments so far in this conversation. "Oh yes, floating blocks." Floating... blocks Ai wondered. She expressed this plainly on her face to see. "You seem confused, let's see. Ah, follow me!" He said as he motioned her to come along. Wondering where she was going, she witnessed it in person. Floating Blocks. They were just floating clumps of bricks, but for some reason, incredibly shiny. "This is a floating block, you can hit it, break it, or go on top of it." With that, he proceeded to demonstrate it. He jumped up high from under one of them, and he bumped his head on one of the blocks. It bumped upward and he fell again. While on the floor, from out of nowhere, he ate a mushroom and grew to about Ai's size. He jumped up and landed safely upon the block. It was apparently able to hold his weight. Jumping off, he landed with a thud, it seemed high up, but she remembered the low gravity jumping abilities. With his larger form, he jumped into the block again and this time, it shattered into bunches of pieces. None of them seemed to land, however, just like dust in the wind. He looked back at Ai, and realized he was having all the fun she was observing.
"I'm probably boring you, sorry, here." He said as he hit a block and a green mushroom glided at me. As soon as it made contact, Ai slightly flashed a green color. "Check your Status" Ai did as such and saw she now had an x4 over her icon instead of an x3. everything else stayed the same though. "Be sure to keep that with you at all times, if you don't, you will die in this world, no exceptions." "So what happens when the counter hits x0?" "We call it a game over. You black out and are transported back to the castle, as long as you have that device. " Ai was surprised at how amazing this technology was. It made everyone in this world immortal.
"Oh yes, let me see your device." Ai gave up her device. The toad tinkered with the object for a moment, and returned it to Ai. "This should be able to get messages and calls from Toads now." Ai thanked him and took back the device with an antennae now. "And one last thing" The toad muttered. "Try not to get caught up in any bad situations." Ai wondered what this meant, as fanfare started. "We're late for the Princess's Party!" the toad yelled as he grabbed Ai's arm. She tried to keep up as the Toad ran full speed toward the castle. Cutting past the forest, the duo met into a crowd of party-goers. "This is so exciting" the toad tried to yell over the cheering. The Princess appeared on a throne with blonde hair and a pink dress. For some reason, Ai could just barely see a pirate ship in the sky. She figured it was an everyday thing, I mean, it made as much sense as anything else here.

Woot, Mario RP. The bulk of this post is explanations, mostly BS'd from things I thought of on the spot. Anyone can join, up to any number. However, when someone joins, be sure that you come into the world gate, have your weapons taken, and given a Stats device, a necklace with a bubble imprint, and a "drop out button". Make sure to collect a second bubble necklace from him too, for me, make it him giving it to you asking it to "give it to a Girl with white clothes. " This can either be a single or co-op RP, I'll post once a day, even if there aren't any other RPers in here. There won't be a turn order, so you joiners can go wild, but no double posting, because I'll be in here. We will go through all 8 worlds, and save the princess. Happy RPing, if you want to.
