Dark Trials (Angel)

The realms of Star are sections. An everlasting meadow filled with beautiful flowers and everlasting peace. A dark forest filled with nothing but a chilly winds and sulking shadows. Lastly a small patch of grass overlooking a shadowy lake, small glowing butterflies fluter around as you look at the bright stars above. These settings is known as Star's domain or her inner world. A realm where she may go to think and be at peace. Its very refreshing to have peace in mind. I'm I right?

Star has been in my domain multiple times and she knows the dark. I remember when she first visited me. She was so full of light, so pure but also so naive. She believed everyone was good inside and the darkness within was nothing more than a fairy tale. Star annoyed me. A blind mindset like that is what caused others to hurt her and treat her unfairly. One thing lead to another and she was deeply hurt by the one person that she was really in love with. The fool...

I wish she would talk to me more and listen, instead she runs over the that goody little two shoes side betch in the other part. It really pisses me off. I am the embodiment of her instincts and her strength. I may be ruthless about my views but I'm not blind or uncooperative. Perhaps she will learn that in time but for now lets talk about you. I don't like you Angel. I tolerate you for her sake but I don't like you. There was a time a few months back when you had me respect and I somewhat "liked" you but you have lost that. Now I have to deal with this little child that can't do a damn thing on it's own. Aside from that, I don't believe you truly love her.

You're unwilling to leave your comfort zone to make her happy but she is willing to do anything for you. I see this as one sided relationship. You're weak and you will never truly be Star's love, someone to be there for her through the most troubling and difficult situations. You want to prove my wrong? Here is your chance.

*A drop of ink lands on the paper and forms shapes upon the piece of parchment. It was a map of the forest, her domain. She draws an arrow over the closed door in the picture and the gate to her world opens.*

Step into my domain Angel.. Show me that I'm wrong about you.. Show me that I can entrust Star to you.... The dark trial awaits..........

I walk in this place.. a bit conflicted in my feelings. A part of me wants to just run, a part of me wants to stay.. I want to trust that there is a meaning to all of this. Some importance I'm just not grasping yet.

I want to see this through.. but I'm scared. This place feels designed to test my fears, to test me in so many ways. I took a few nervous steps forward.. walking in my normal "Princess" step pace that I'm so well known by the people that know me in real life. You could walk side by side by me and I would still be left in the dust. These steps make me feel comfortable. Every little sound around me makes me scared that something will jump out at me. But these steps keep me moving slow, they give me chances to see around me before I fall into something unknown.. and they make me feel little.

More than that though.. I feel empty. Whenever I have no one to talk to, no one to stand by.. I feel like some piece of me is missing. I miss my friends, I miss feeling safe. Unable to continue to feel so lonely, the only person I could cry out to is the person that is testing me in the first place. "Why.. really why am I here? What would you have me do? I wanna.. I just want to get this over with and prove myself.." I say, losing confidence in my own words. How would she respond to these words, would she think I have little patience for her? That's not true.. I have little patience in myself. I lose sight so easily, but I want to keep moving on. Would she think I'm not understanding why I'm doing this? I do. I just need to feel like there is a goal in mind for her too, not just me. Does she even really want this?

Does she want this? No... Does she mind it? No... She wants to know if you are truly there for her. If you will catch her when she falls, not just let her hit the ground then tend to her wounds after. She is as sensitive as you Angel. Star doesn't mind taking the motherly, protective role but even she needs someone to catch her and help her to her feet. This person must be you because you are the one she truly loves. That's why we are here...

*Her hand raises the glass full of red wine and places it to her lips for a quick sip. She places the glass back on the tree stump and begins drawing in the piece of parchment.*

It saddens me.. She doesn't listen to me.. Even though I'm looking out for her, she ignores my warning because of her sill emotions. Stupid girl........... but perhaps.. you can be my replacement, since she listens to you.

* The tiny edit to the picture was done and a bright yellow path appeared before Angel's feet, leading deeper into the forest*

She looked around until she saw the bright yellow path. She loved the color yellow and decided that Star would not want her to be dead or anything, or be hurt. Taking a deep breath, she walked onwards along the path that was drawn for her. Through the trees and the forest that otherwise was dark and seemed very frightening to her. Not wanting to focus on it, she did what she always did.. pay attention the ground. Normally if she was out in the real world and life was feeling too scary, Angel would find the cracks on the side walks and make sure she didn't take more than 2 steps a piece, counting outloud to herself "One-Two" or sometimes, "Iich-Nee".

But since there was no cracks on this path, she decide just to look at it and still do the counting. Eventually, she started focusing so much on her counting that she was lost in her own world again. The forest was in her mind, not a bother. Right now.
