Chapter 4: Shattered Sanctuary

Cody looked around at the dismal broken peices of the SSS HQ.

Cody: Shame how this place looks now huh Rex ole boy?

Rex: Yes it is. This place once filled with friends, laughter, and conversations. But, now nothing but a few crumbling walls and some dirt.

They manuevered through the ruins looking for the survivers of the attack. For a while it seemed that they wouldnt find anyone. But then they heard the noise of people talking. They rushed to the closet wall and took position at the corner and aimed their guns. Around the corner they saw E. Gadd, R.O.B, and a man they had no clue who was. Cody cam out quietly so as not to alarm the man. E. Gadd began to say something but Cody shook his head. Cody jumped the unknown man and put him in a headlock.

Cody: Rex call for some back up.

E. Gadd: Oh uh Commander Cody is it he's with us.

Cody released the man and stood up.

E. Gadd: This is Kin he is one of the older SSS Members. If you question my facts just contact Mr. Zel or Bob Snicket. They'll vouch for him.

Kin: Bob and Zel? What? Where?

ROB: They escaped to the GreenHell's Forest.

Rex: We've been instructed to take ALL the survivers back with or without force.

"Do you know each other?" X asked the group. He didn't think they did, as nothing in particular was said between them. "So, are we ready to go? Not to be urgent but we kinda have a world to save. It's gonna take a while to get back to where we need to go, so can we walk and talk?" He was glad to be getting back into the loop, maybe actually stick around and make friends here. BUt part of him inside was missing, and it was eating at him. He needed to talk to her. X started to lead them into the forest, "So what are your guy's stories? Why are you here?"

Steele picked up the note and crushed it in his hands. "God Dangit, why is everybody going to the Harsh Seas? The SSS have most likley scattered accross the globe. Just because they found one SMasher there, that dosen't mean they're all there."

Steele wrapped himself in his cape and teleported.

[Harsh Seas - Karocka's Ship]

Steele appeared below deck on the ship. The ship tossed and turned on the waves of the unforgiving seas. He clamored to the stairs and walked up them. He was already sea sick, the sea was making a fool out of him quickly.

"Hey, Karocka!!" he shouted on deck.

Kaemon replied to X,"Well, currently I am on a mission to find some strange spirit things called Angus Brogans."

X looked in confusion. Kaemon laughed,"Ha, ha...
Yeah... well, alot has happen already, but a strange hooded man who seems to be helping me out sent me to the ruins back where I met Voltage and Sour."
Sour asked,"Hooded man? Dont you know his name?"
Kaemon shook his head,"All I know is that he wants to help me... he does not waste time talking either."
Sour laughed,"Like Voltage?"
Voltage just glared.
Kaemon noded,"Yeah, but... this other strange guy... his way of fighting is... different, yet amazing. Anyways, I left him with my other friends, Kioko and Bud. Until I come back."
X seemed to understand,"But what exactly are these... Angus Brogans?"
Kaemon Pulled out a pink orb,"See this? Well, it is said that there is one for each type of attribute... this one is love."
Sour,"Oh?"
Kaemon put it back in his pocket,"That is it's core state. It needs to recharge."
X then asked,"Ok, but... wouldn't that make you invincible and immortal?"
Kaemon shook his head,"There is a catch. Before leaving I was told that only three may be next to eachothers at once."

Kaemon looked at the ground,"Or it will corrupt you to doing beyond evil's immagination.
Sour said,"Well let's just hope no one evil does that ;D "
"Ofcourse, heh. That is why I am trying to gather them and do something with them before it's too late." Kaemon said as they continued to walk.

Stupid humans,why are they talking? he thought to himself. Just then, a woman came out of hiding.She said:"Hey you three, start talkin, who are you?!" Voltage smiled to himself. So she decides to reveal herself,hmm? Voltage said to the woman:"I am Voltage,Prince of the Lightning Wolf Tribe.To whom am I addressing?" The woman said:"Neni" Neni,hmm?I think I heard Gen talk about her... Voltage said:"What do you want?And where is Genesis?If you see him tell him I want to see him again." With that Voltage continued to follow X.

{Stormy Coastline}

Nemeck stared out into the raging seas. Rain fell in sheets, cascading out of dark, violent clouds in freezing torrents and gusts that whipped his cloak into a frenzied dance; like a mad puppet of the storm itself. Bolts of lightning split the sky, their jagged paths seemed to crack the night open, revealing light hidden behind an oppresive curtain of darkness.

In the storming night, he could barely see his hands before him. With the bursts of lightning that flashed across the sky, his eyes could see no farther than the bottom of the rocky cliff face below. But every fiber of his being could feel it. Something was adrift out in those dark waters. An omen of death and destruction, the harbinger of the raging skies that consumd the seas.

Nemeck could feel him. A mind without measure. Unopposed and unequalled in strenght or cruelty. Power radiated outward, unchecked and unchallenged, an unquestionable display of dominance.

Rain water flowed off of Nemeck's mask and onto the ground below. The wind bit and stung, gnashing its teeth against him. The temperature dropped, and lightning split the sky. Nemeck smiled.

He would watch. And he would wait.

Kin cracked his neck around and seemed annoyed that he was surprised like that. "Well Proffessor Gadd, as I was so rudley interupted I was going to say that I the last 7 years of my life were of pain and agony, but thankfully A few rescuers found us all." he said. "Well master Kin, I am extreamy happy you survived, but now is the time i beleive we should get a move on." Gadd said with concern.

"Oh master, what about the others?" ROB continued "Didnt Master Kin say Geo returned?" ROB said as he looked at Kin again. "Oh yes quite!" Gadd said while twirling his long peice of hair on his head."Well these fellows over here seem to want us at greenhell forest." Commander Cody smirked and rex just stared. "Zel Wants us back immediatley, and your going with us weither you like to or not." Cody Said.

Kin fixed his eyepatch around and ran his fingers through his hair and then walked over to Cody. "So you said you work under Zel is this correct?" Kin asked. "Yes we do." Rex spoke up.
'Hmm, I see.." Kin said. He looked at cody for a quick second and then quickly grabbed his gun, elbowed him in the nose and knocked him over. Rex Pointed the Gun at Kins head as Cody put his hand on his nose. Using His Silver Mist energy, the mist wrapped itself around the gun, with that opporotunity, Kin took out his pistol and pointed it at Rex.

Proffesor Gadd was intruiged as Kin was making these two commanders look like regular soldiers. "Let me re-introduce myself." Kin said "I am SSS commanding general Kin, are we clear?" Kin picked cody up from the ground and handed him his weapon back. "Y-Yes" Cody and Rex said as they looked away from Kin. "Then now that we got to know each other, After you gentlemen, I beleive Zel wants to see us." Kin said as he directed his hand to the ship in the distance.

The Group started to walk to the ship and ROB spoke to Gadd in a lower volume voice. "That is not the same Kin my memory chip recolects him as." Gadd looked at his Robotic compainion and said "Well ROB Master Kin was in a desolate place for 7 years, he is lucky to be alive, it is only natural for a change to occur like that.

Evil Kin walked out on his balcony veiw of the hell world. Maia Was resting in the bath. The Silver Serphant closed his eyes and started to think."Hmmm, for some reason i have felt a very familiar energy return to the world above....

Evil Kin leaned his arms on the white marble balcony and opened his eyes as two soft hands were wrapped around his waist. "Something the mater dear?" Maia asked as she just came out of the bath. "Oh, its nothing...Just alot has gone through my mind right now." the serphant spoke as his red and black hair flowed through the wind. "Say, why dont we go do something to pass the time?" Maia asked as she leaned her chin on his shoulders. "Well im still on vacation, what would you like to do?

[Bridge of the Flagship]

Zel watched out over the forest from the bridge window. He snapped out of his meditation as his communicator beeped.

Zel: Yes Cody what is it?

Cody: We need you to open the hatch Sir.

Zel: The hatch what where are you.

Cody: We're back with the survivers. Heh lost in thought again sir?

Zel: Ah yes I guess I was. Very well.

Zel ordered the door of the ship to open. Cody led Rex, Kin, E. Gadd, and ROB to the bridge. When Zel turned he gasped. He was in shock at the site of Kin's appearance. Zel for once was speechless.

[SSS Ruins]

The professor was startled by the arrival of Commander Cody and the rest, but pleased that their search would cut short.

"Good morning, Commander," he said, adjusting his swirly glasses, the radiant sun glinting off of them. "I assure you no force will be necessary. You lads are just what we needed to get back to the rest. R.O.B, Master Kin, let us depart for the SSS with no further delay."

R.O.B. nodded, and Kin seemed to consent. "Master Kin," R.O.B. said unexpectedly. "My emotional magnifiers indicate that you have not been with us for a long time, a very long time, and you are not sure how you will be received. I hope it comes as a comfort to you that you will be a source of great hope to the rest; and with Crehavos's oppression, hope is needed more than any other characteristic right now...according to my calculations..."

"Alright, let's go," the Commander said.

(OOC: Kin's post happens here...curse you, overlapping posts...-_-)

As they walked toward the ship, however, the scientist spotted something else still that had survived Crehavos's massacre. Without a word, he stepped over to the ornate, silver pedestal upon which were engraved six round slots. Four of these slots were still occupied by the Orbs the SSS had obtained previously: The [glow=blue,2,300]Blue Orb[/glow] which had always been there, the [glow=red,2,300]Red Orb[/glow] located on Shadow Moses Island, the [glow=yellow,2,300]Yellow Orb[/glow] Taishi the rogue Yoshi had discovered in the tunnels beneath Delfino Plaza, and finally, the [glow=purple,2,300]Purple Orb[/glow] Taishi had discovered to be the jewel on Princess Peach's crown (she had never noticed the switch-out with a different one).

Thinking for the future, and not knowing what would become of these ruins, Gadd removed the four Orbs and stuffed them inside his already-bulging pockets.

"Right, then, lead us on, Commander!" He turned to Kin. "I will expect a full explanation of what precisely you have been up to for these long 7 years, as well as anything you know on Masters Geo and Dobs' whereabouts, on the way there."

[Greenhell Forest]

Snicket had listened to Zel's short speech, and preferred to merely observe as X made his mysterious reappearance. This shady figure struck a strange, almost familiar chord inside him, but for now, at least, he seemed to be on their side. Then the boy was asked if he himself had any sort of plan for combating Crehavos.

For some reason, Bob began reflecting on that day when he had first met the current emperor of the universe. It had been in a desert, near an abandoned stadium, on his way back from Zebes while riding Ridley. Good times, he thought. At least, in a way. Although this was during the era of the extinct Creators' Alliance, he remembered well that the SSS had been strong in confidence that they could defeat their enemies. And that they did, as was evidenced by the fact that the Subspace Imperial Emissary no longer existed. Now, though...

Crehavos had been able, somehow, to strike fear and intimidation into the hearts of all who opposed him. The Brawlers and Forumers were united once again, which was important. But this game would have to be played very carefully from now on if they were to have a chance to succeed. Now, one false move or bad mistake could lead to eternal doom. And eternity was a long time.

"I believe so," he responded finally. "But it will require splitting up, cooperation, and excellent hiding skills..."

[Cell]

[Crehavos, Arietta, Nindo]
[Harsh Seas]

"Master Crehavos, how much longer are we going to be out on this boring old boat?" Arietta pouted.

Daylight was beginning to break the horizon, and the Dark Emperor's patience was thinning. Still no sign of any other SSS members, and no notifications from any of his search parties. Where in the world would these people hide?! It was maddening!

"Hello? Master?" Arietta asked innocently, waving her hands around to try and get Crehavos' attention.

"My dear, if you are weary of the sea, feel free to search any other area in this world." Crehavos answered, eyes still fixated on the horizon.

Arietta still looked uneased, looking rather worn from the hours of journeying across these violent waters. Before she could say another word, Crehavos said, "You may go rest for the day, but by nightfall I want you to resume your search," as if reading her mind.

"Hey! What about me?" Nindo barked.

The demon shut his eyes out of annoyance. "Very well... go, both of you." He said with a straining tone in his voice.

"Yipee!" Arietta cheered, flying off delightedly. Nindo curtly nodded, and vanished from sight.

The Dark Emperor chuckled silently at this display, "Hmph... children." He continued gazing out upon the open seas, searching for the slightest sign of movement in these harsh waters. However, in the distance, he spotted something very large arising out of the water near the ship Karocka was on. A sea monster of great size and seemingly great power. Crehavos could stop it in an instant if he wanted, but he said to himself, "I'll let them have their fun."

It has been several weeks since she abandoned her battle with Evil Kin. Several weeks since she returned to her the land she has called home for eons. The soft pink skies were so welcoming compared to the ominious dark red of the current Smash Planet; green fields and hills decorating this gorgeous land. The citizens here were happy and carefree, chatting amongst themselves and living in a blissful sanctuary. Yet the people of the Smash Planet were enslaved and massacred in their usurped planet, no peace... no life.

"Ucria, darling... are you alright?" A gentle voice asked.

The maiden turned to see her aging mother walking towards her, a bouquet of flowers in her arms.

Ucria smiled at this comforting sight, "Really mother, I'm okay. Don't worry." Ucria was not alright though, she felt guilty. She has abandoned her duty to protect that planet, and by now Crehavos mave have wiped the whole planet of life; destroyed it even. No... she was far from alright, and her mother seemed to know that for certain.

"Ria, I know you're hurting," Her mother began. "And you can't keep beating yourself up about it. It's not your fault Crehavos has taken that planet under siege, that wretched orb I created is to blame..."

This woman was surely beautiful, looking nearly identical to Ucria except for graying hair and emerald green eyes. Ucria sighed, wrapping her arms around her mother. "It's not your fault, mama. It's not. You never knew he would use that, nor even find it. That orb was created for a last resort, and like any other stolen power, it was abused." Ucria said, voice soft, yet shaky.

The older Ucria, her mother, pat her daughter on the back. "Go to them. I know you want to, you don't have to stay her; I'll be fine and so will your father." She whispered.

"Are you sure...?" Ucria whispered back. "What if he finds away to get to you all...? What if he... he..."

"Hush. That's not going to happen, I promise!" her mother spoke calmly, but sternly.

"I'm scared, mama..." Ucria breathed, tears rolling down her beautiful face.

"I know, dear... I know..." Madam Lerezé responded. "But you've got to not let it overcome you. Crehavos isn't invincible, no matter how much he seems to be..." She let go of Ucria, looking frusturated. "I just don't understand... I knew his parents. They were not twisted like that, they were good people even though they lived in the Underworld. And Crehavos was such a good boy too... those eons of being a prisoner in his own home with that cruel uncle of his probably changed him for the worse."

"That's surely it... He must have real hatred towards everything after being so trapped for so long." Ucria said, saddness filled her voice. Rising to her feet, face contorting into a look of complete seriousness, the maiden said, "I'm going."

"Bring back the normal Crehavos, Ria... for me. I know you can do it." Madam Lerezé encouraged.

"I'll do my best. Good bye, mama!" Ucria called as she vanished from sight.

The task at hand was nearly impossible, but she was going to do it. She knew that she would...

[Outside SSS HQ]

Lurking near the ruins of the SSS HQ, a mysterious figure stood tall; overlooking this wasteland with a sharp pain in his stomach. "My predictions from the past were true... this is a disaster." the boy spoke to himself.

This young man was quite sophisticated looking. He wore a light lavender suit that was close to a white in color. His skin was slighty pale and his hair was a flowing white-blonde the nearly reached his shoulders. His tie was black, the same dark color of dispair of his elegant rose in his suit pocket. And his eyes, his eyes were a soft aqua blue that seemed to shimmer in the light.

His face was very calculating, yet always held a very calm, but serious air about it. Muttering under his breath, the boy stated, "I vow... I'll put an end to this if it's the last thing I do. I'm coming for you... Crehavos."

Dartainian Ayre has entered the frey.

Jonas:"Those ungrateful heroes, if it wasn't for us this place would still be crawling with monsters."


Everyone, like always, ignored Jonas's babbling.


Jonas:"Hey did you hear me?!"

Genesis:"So what should we do now its not like we're following orders from anyone."

Abdol:"....Who's there?"

Oakley:"Huh, Abdol what's going on?"

Jonas:"This better not be a knock knock joke."

Reynal:"....."


Without saying anything Reynal started to lit his hand with fire.


Reynal:"Come on out we know you're hiding."

:"*Sigh* fine."


Neni appears and is finally reunited with her partners.


Genesis:"Neni!( Thank god )"

Neni:"Good to see you guys again, including you Alexander."

Oakley:"Hmph, Looks like you've been through hell already Neni, how many kills for you, 10?"

Neni:"Ooh Oakley, missed me already, I see your attitude hasn't changed at all."

Oakley:"You're foolish as always."

Neni:"Whatever Oaktree."

Oakley:"What you call....."


Neni ignored Oakley and turned to Genesis.


Neni:"Genesis, its been months."

Genesis:"Months?( Ooo I get it )...right."

Neni:"Any luck finding Alica?"

Genesis:"Negative, we're still seacrhing for her."

Neni:"Hmmm...ooo Genesis I have news for you."

Genesis:"News...for me?"

Neni:"Yes, a man named Voltage, Prince of the Lightning Wolf Tribe, was looking for you."

Genesis:"!!!"

Oakley:"...Something wrong Genesis?"

Genesis:"( Voltage, damn he's back already?! ) where did you last see him?"

Neni:"He's here in GreenHell Forest, but he's not alone."

Genesis:"Hmph, Neni, Jonas, can you guys come with me?"

Jonas:"Ummm...okay."

Neni:"Sure Alexander."

Abdol:"What's your plan Number 7?"

Genesis:"I need to track Voltage down, you, Oakley, and Reynal should stay here just in case Zel gives further orders."

Reynal:"Alright, but you seem to forget I'm the boss."

Genesis:"Heh, my bad."


Genesis, Neni, and Jonas leaves the ship in search for Voltage.

Good.She went to Genesis. Just then he picked up a scent. Hmph.That didnt take as long as thought it would... He turned to X."I have to go check on something.I will be back." With that he left.

[Voltage, Genesis, Neni, Jonas]
Voltage jumped down from the trees to find Genesis. Doing a small bow he said:"Ah,hello again Genesis.It has been awhile." He stood up straight and said:"It's too bad last we met it ended in a tie." Voltage then made a electric sword and said:"I have come to break that tie." He acivated his Lightning Eye and said:"I'm sure you remember my...special...eyesight."He then jumped and sliced at Genesis. He yelled at Genesis:"Now fight!"

X watched as Voltage ran off. He paused for a second, trying to decide his priorities. What seemed to be the greater good or what seemed to be individualism. He pondered this for a moment, Kaemon and Sour also stopping.
"What do you guys think? Follow him? He's probably gonna get himself into trouble. I say yeah, but I'll go with whatever you two decide."

[Rashi]
[Outside SSS HQ]

Rashi walked out of the deserted building. SHe looked up at it's infinate height, incabable of fathoming that everyone in the building was gone. She walked around to the other side to see what happened. It had only been a few days since Steele had fought her and was left with that crazy lightning. Had he caused this? She quickly dismissed that, the Nulick Stone was too powerful for that.

It seemed sad for her. It seemed that as soon as she got to the SSS, it was no longer a haven like it was a few weeks before. It all happened so fast.

Her eye caught a figure outside the SSS building, just standing there. It was a boy, just standing talking to himself. Her curiosity got the better of her. "Excuse me" she said to get his attention "Do you know what happened here?"

[Mariomasher]

[Haylee, Rai, Necro, Luca]
Greenhell Forest

The four arrived in greenhell.

Luca:Now to find the others. I'm sure we can find them before the sun sets.

The kept walking when Haylee heard a voice.

Mysterious Voice:Swords only betray...

Haylee:What you say?

Rai:Huh?

Necro:I said nothing.

Haylee: Hmm.... maybe it's my imagination.

MV:Betraying your friend. A stab through the heart....

Haylee: What am I thinking about?

MV:Driven into perfect insanity....

The voice slowly went away with a few more remarks along the way. Soon they approached a group of people.

DMM appeared on top of the crows nest. He jumped down and landed next to Crehavos.

DMM:Lord Crehavos...

DMM bowed before his great lord.

DMM:What needs to be done? It has been a while since I've been able to do something. A mission or objectivve would be highly appriciated, my lord.
