To much of me dismay, my Xbox 360 finally got the infamous "Red Rings of Death". Right now I'm in the middle of registering to have my 360 repaired; and let me tell you now its a betch! I swear, if Micro$oft does not help out, I'm going to sell all my 360 games and start investing towards the new PS3 Slim.

When I had my 360 I had to send mine in for repair, and from then on it was just bleh efficient. I had freezes, overheats, times when the disc tray wouldn't open unless I smashed the open button in a certain way. I'm not saying this will happen to yours, but don't be surprised if the quality of your 360 declines after repair

What does Mircosoft repairing, no rather fixing their BS have any relation to me or friends? This freaking sucks. Like I mentioned I probably just sell all my 360 games and move on to the PS3.

If you were smart like any normal person, you would have gotten the extended warranity. That's what people do for expensive things, even if they aren't electronic. You BUY the warranity so you can just walk into the store and say "Hey, my thing's busted, can I get a new one?" And BAM, there you go.
Microsoft actually helps, although this was a different group, my friends have told me that they do a good job putting up with people yelling at them and bitching at them from beginning to end. The majority of my friends also said they didn't get any problems, and even if they get the Red Ring again, they were smart, bought the extended warranity, and just head back to the store and pick it up. Piece of cake.
You also have to be very stupid to have your Xbox brake down, the main case is over-heating. If you left it in an open space where the console can "breath" so to speak then it's fine. I've had my 360 since 06, and I have never had a single problem with it. Leaving it on for extended periods of time like say overnight without doing anything can also be cause, you'd kind of have to be lazy to do that.
The extended warranity for your new 360 isn't worth a cent per say if it does break down. I guess you could forge the excuse that you don't want to fork over the extra dough to get it insured, but that's what people do for everything. PS3's: you buy the extended warranity. TV's: you buy the extended warranity. Even musical instruments: you buy the extened warranity. If you don't, you're basically gambiling your chances for it to break down, and if you happen to be a subject to the above paragraph, you can kiss your 360 good bye.
Microsoft's product is known to have bugs and problems, but the majority of the time it's user error than the actually product that gets it sent time after time to the repair shop.

Angel doesn't trust extended warranties. You shouldn't have to buy an extended warranty because your special-ness is going to break, and not everyone has the money to get it.. sometimes they just barely squeak by getting the system. Also I don't like paying money for safety when I can just be careful with my system.
Though, your post could have been alot nicer LGN.. being mean doesn't really help you make your case, even if you are annoyed and sensing anoher console war.
To Twlightlink, Angel hopes she can offer her sadness to you. No consoles should break down like that when so young and in their prime. Make whatever decision you think will make you happy on how to proceed.

Look here buddy, I do not know what I did to you for you to be hostile, but I had they system since the December of '07 and its has been working fine since then. I took very good care of my system and I do leave my open space so it can breathe. Now on the issue of the warranty, I do not know if I have it or not so I cannot argue you with that topic; however, I just got off the phone with the Xbox Support and they said they will cover my repairs, so I am happy. Like I mentioned I took very good care my Xbox, and everything that I own. I'm shocked this happen in fact because it was working perfectly last night. Also, my mom brought me and my sister the Xbox 360 for Christmas '07 and I was very lucky to even get it because money was tight. But what do you care, right? You'll just sit behind your computer and call me an idiot multiple times for no apparent reason.

Your reply didn't even help him at all. You just explained what most people would do. I may as well be honest. YOUR SYSTEM DIES FOR EVERYTHING! I wouldn't be surprised if it died after installing FF XIII. You defend everything 360 and half the time its only because its 360. See things in his perspective, not every "normal person" gets the extended warranty. If its not the consoles fault then why do so many 360's get red rings then why did my friends 360 get red rings 4 TIMES?! He got it repaired everytime to the point that it just died again and again so he had to go buy a 360 elite.(this was friday) so if you think every person who didn't buy the extended warranty isn't normal or that everybody who let their 360 break down is stupid then you are a very stupid child.

Also if that was the reason why LGN was being agitated, then I reassure you, my intent upon creating thread was not to create a "console war" just to inform people that I got the "red rings" on my Xbox 360. The reason why I said I would get a PS3 if they not help me out was out of frustration and not to have buy another 360 and have to worry about the possibility of receiving the "Red Rings of Death" of again. So, do not get me wrong I love my 360 tremendously, but this something would not want to go through again, nor do I want anyone else to go through this either. Wow, I feel bad for your friend Sour, but please do not turn this into a mud-slinging fight. This was NOT, I REPEAT, NOT my intention when I created this thread.

Oh, I'm sure it wasn't. Come'on guys, start a new thread for your console wars. But I'm glad they are going to fix it for you, console-bias aside of the fact completey.. I'm very happy that they are going to fix your console for you and your going to continue to be able to enjoy quality games like Tales of Vesperia.
