CHAPTER 61: THE FINAL BATTLE
“Everyone! Get ready to move out. We’re leaving in 5 minutes!” Mewtwo yelled, as everyone else got ready to leave.
“You…you think we can do it?” Luigi asked.
“Of course, we’ve done it before,” encouraged Peach.
“Don’t worry little bro, as long as you stay behind me, you’ll be fine,” Mario said.
“Don’t treat him like that, you’ll be fine Luigi,” added Yoshi.
“Think you two can not get captured this time?” Wolf.
“Think we’re even since we’ve saved you before?” Fox retorted.
“Yeah, we’ll be fine this time. I know. And when…” Falco started.
“Don’t finish that,” Fox replied, turning to fix his new gun.
“You all ready?” Jigglypuff asked.
“Yep,” replied Kirby. “Hammer’s all set!”
“Mine too!” added Game and Watch.
“Yeah, all charged up!” Pichu said. Pikachu also nodded.
“All of my pikmin are here!” said Olimar. To show he was ready, R.O.B. made a light show in the air.
“Snake?” Jigglypuff asked. Snake was polishing one of his guns.
“mmhhmm…you’ll need me, since im probably the best fighter,” he mumbled to himself.
“You want me to run ahead when the portal is opened?” Sonic asked.
“Nope, it’s probably best if we stick together,” replied DK. “You ready little buddy?”
“Yep!” Diddy said, taking out his popguns.
“You think of any way to beat him without having the prophecy come true?” Pit asked.
“Nope…we’ll just have to prepare for it,” replied Marth. “Everyone! Sword inspection!” Ike, Roy, Link, Young Link, Toon Link, Meta Knight, and Pit all showed their swords. “Looks like they’re all good. No need for the extras then. Now, let’s head to the door.”
“Can I have an extra?” Zelda asked. Link handed he a slim sword.
“Good luck out there,” he said, hugging her.
As Samus polished her armor, she looked from Captain Falcon to Red, who were both doing pushups, wanting the other to stop first. Red obviously had no chance, so when he could do anymore, he collapsed to the ground comically, making Samus laugh to herself.
“Ready to get back at him?” Ganondorf asked, with a stern look on his face.
“Yeah!” King Dedede, Wario, and Bowser said.
“Nobody makes a fool of me!” Bowser exclaimed.
“You’re right, you do that yourself,” Ganondorf replied, walking towards where Mewtwo would open the portal.
Ness went over to Lucas, who was rubbing his eyes, sitting on a bench.
“You ready to save the world?” Ness asked. Lucas stopped rubbing his eyes and looked at Ness
“You bet,” he said, smiling. Lucario came over and sat down next to the two.
“Looks like we’re ready. Mewtwo went to open the portal,” Lucario said. “Lucas…you might wanna…” Lucario nodded towards the Ice Climbers. Lucario and Ness got up and walked to where the portal would be, and Lucas went over to the climbers.
“You guys all set?” Lucas asked them. Nana seemed unsure if to smile or not, and Popo just frowned.
“Yeah, we ready yet?” Popo asked, stepping between Lucas and Nana. Lucas gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, and Popo took out his mallet.
“We’re ready,” said Lucario, stepping in. Everyone walked to the portal, and Mewtwo spoke.
“Most of you have already fought him. While it may be familiar, do not be fooled. It will be a tough battle. And it’s extremely likely that he has a few more tricks up his sleeve. But we have more experience too, and more heroes too. I’m sure we’ll be able to destroy him, but everyone, watch your backs.” And with that, Mewtwo stepped through.
“Not the best speech giver,” Snake whispered.

The group moved through subspace, towards where they thought Tabuu would be, in the lighter area far ahead.
“Now…we have to watch out,” said Mewtwo. There’s sure to be some minions…” and he was cut off by Lucario’s cry, and everyone turned to see an evil Lucario, like they had found in the great maze during the emissary.
“They’ll probably have more of these,” Lucario said, as he went to fight his doppelganger. “You guys go on!”
And it continued to go like that, with people getting distracted by their clones left and right, until all that remained were the seven.
“Almost there!” yelled Lucas, as they were getting close to Tabuu. “Now…let’s fight.”
“So…you are the seven who evaded my grasp,” Tabuu said. “No matter. You will become part of my army soon. The next time heroes are captured by my ray guns, no one will be spared.”
“So…I take it you expect to win,” Lucas said, allowing Wolf and Red to sneak away, hopefully unnoticed.
Lucario beat his enemy, and went on to find DK fighting his evil self. Lucario sent an aura ball at it, and DK turned to see him.
“Let’s go.” They both continued along the path they had been following, finding Young Link, Diddy, Ness, Roy, Meta Knight, Marth and Pit all fighting their evil selves.
“What’s that?” asked Young Link, as he saw a fiery explosion in the distance.
“We better hurry,” said Marth, and the group ran in that direction.
Wolf shot at Tabuu with his blaster, and Red had taken out Ivysaur and Charizard, who together, sent a flaming leaf at Tabuu. To him it was a small distraction, but that’s what it was supposed to be. Luigi used his missile attack, and cause a fiery explosion on Tabuu’s knee. Tabuu barely flinched though, and continued to talk.
“I didn’t expect you to do nothing, but sneak attacks? That’s a little mean…I think I’ll make you trophies now.” And Tabuu used his red ring attack. Everyone rolled out of the way, and Popo ran to Nana and pushed her down, trying to help her dodge. Lucas looked at the two, but then turned to the real enemy.
Lucario and the others who were with him at the time continued running towards Tabuu, when they found Peach, Samus, Falcon, Zelda, Link, R.O.B., and Sonic fighting their evil selves in a large group. With so many more heroes there, it was an easy fight. Once the enemies were defeated, they moved on to find Mewtwo fighting his evil self. But this was a fairly even match, with the evil Mewtwo being slightly better. The evil Mewtwo seemed to know exactly what Mewtwo would do, and how to counter it. But when the large party came, it was no match for the evil Mewtwo.
“You all right?” Roy asked.
“Mm-hmm,” Mewtwo replied, and silently moved forward. They moved on to find Ike fighting himself. “Go!” Mewtwo yelled, and began to fight Ike himself.
“But we can outnumber…” Ike began.
“Go!” repeated Mewtwo. “You need to get to Tabuu as quickly as you can
“But you know how to seal him away!” Marth argued, “You should go.”
“Just beat him, he will be weak enough so I can seal him away when I get there, now go!” Mewtwo said again, and continued to fight. The rest left.
So all of the 7 who were facing Tabuu now attacked at once, but Tabuu barely flinched. He began to shoot lasers again, but this time instead of having two lasers shoot out of his eyes, there were four. Wolf deflected one, which turned the color of his shield and hit Tabuu back. Tabuu smiled.
“So, you’ve been training?” Red asked, dodging a laser.
“Yes…and I’ve learned this too,” said Tabuu, and instead of red rings, he made blue rings which would make them turn evil. Everyone dodged again, but this time Lucas ran and pushed Nana and Popo to the ground, helping them roll out of the way while he dodged himself. Popo glared at him, and the both looked back to Tabuu.
The group continued to help the others, with Mewtwo catching up once in a while to take on the clone alone. They proceded to free Game and Watch, Kirby, Mario, Yoshi, Dedede, Toon Link, Pichu, Olimar, Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard, Snake, Pika, Fox, and Falco. Then the group found Bowser, Wario, and Ganondorf all fighting their clones. Mewtwo came up to the group.
“Go, I will take care of them,” Mewtwo said.
“But we could overpower…” Ike began.
“Go, they need you to fight Tabuu,” Mewtwo replied and he looked away, destroying the evil Wario.
Marth shrugged, and they left to find Tabuu.
Once they got there, the battle was nearly over. Except…Tabuu used the blue rings again, as everyone stood ready for them. All but Snake. He didn’t know what was about to happen, because he was crawling from behind. There was no way he’d be able to get up in time, so Jigglypuff used rollout to try to get him to dodge. It worked because of the timing, Snake dodged just as the ring was about to hit him. But Jigglypuff was now evil. Snake took care of this quickly, but launching a rocket, and sent her to the group of heroes. It was not long before she was good again.
So with little hp left, Wolf shot him with his blaster, Red kicked him, Luigi used his missle attack, Jigglypuff used rest, Popo and Nana attacked from both sides by sending out icicles, and Lucas finished him off with a PK Fire.
Everything flashed green and Tabuu was defeated, shrinking off into the distance. Everyone came up to the 7 and congratulated them, when Mewtwo came.
“Is he gone?” Mewtwo asked, looking around.
“Yep…we beat him!” Lucas said, overjoyed.
“That’s good. Now, I have to warn you, he…” Mewtwo looked over at Lucario, Pit, and Marth. “…there may be still some of the army out there, that haven’t been defeated yet. So I’d like everyone to go train with Lucario, after a short break.” There were some moans, but everyone knew it was important.

“I can deliver you wherever you want to go, just tell me and I will open up the portal there,” Mewtwo said.
“Anyone who wants to train, wait till the end, we can all go together,” Lucario yelled.
“And could some of you do surveillance duty to look for the army?” Mewtwo asked. Nobody went up at first, prompting Meta Knight to go.
“You can take a break, you already did your time,” Mewtwo said.
“But someone has to do it, and we need multiple people…” Meta Knight said, and then he was transported to his ship.
“We’ll do it too,” Fox said, as he and Falco were transported to their ships.
“We’ll go too,” Captain Falcon said, and he brought samus up with him. Samus looked back at Red, and he was about to volunteer to, when he got a call. The other two went through the portal.
“The tournament…oh…ok,” he said, and looked to see Samus, but she had already left. “Pokemon Stadium 3,” he said, and was transported there.
Peach and Zelda went up to Mewtwo.
“My summer castle please,” Peach said, and the portal opened, and they stepped through.” Ike then came up.
“I have to look over Zelda’s summer castle,” he said, and he was transported there.
Roy and Luigi went up to Mewtwo. “One my castles, right there.” Roy was pointing on a map.
“I’ll go anywhere,” sonic said. Mewtwo opened a portal to a plain, and Sonic went through.
“I guess I’ll go there too,” Link said. “I have nothing else to do right now.” He went through, and then R.O.B. also followed him.
“Angelic Isle,” Yoshi said, and he and Pikachu went through.
“I called in my ship, so I’ll see you around,” Olimar said, and he got in and left.
“I’m going here, for career advice,” Jigglypuff said, and whispered to Mewtwo. A portal opened for her.
“I’d like to go to a jungle, I need some bananas,” DK said, and he was transported there.
“We want to go to one too,” Diddy said, and a portal opened to another jungle, which Kirby and Diddy went into.
“I’m going to my hometown to find a job,” Game and Watch said, and he left.
“I guess I’ll hang around the city for a little while,” Ness said. “I want to have a little bit of a break. Wario also took this opportunity to leave.
“Hey…what happened to Snake?” Mewtwo asked. He was nowhere to be seen, because he had already left. They checked, and the same was for Bowser, Ganondorf, Dedede and Wolf.
“We’ll be sailing for a while, so we need to be at Port Azulmar,” Toon Link said, and he stepped through with Marth and Pichu.
“You know where I’m going,” Pit said, and he was sent there.
“You coming to train?” Lucas asked coldly to Popo and Nana. Nana remembered he helped both her and Popo, and was about to say yes, when Popo answered.
“No, we’re going to our home,” he said, and they were transported there.
“So, where do you want to train,” Lucario asked.
“The mountains,” replied Lucas.
“Ah, yes. A good place for training,” Lucario replied. A portal opened to mountains (normal not icy) and they went through. Of course, Lucario knew why Lucas chose that, but could he really blame him?
Then, Mewtwo was left alone. “I must go to the island now, if there’s any hope of him not coming back. Last time it only partially worked, but I now know what could work. I only pray that it does. I know I have to do this, I’m the only one who can…has the power.” Mewtwo looked down, and then disappeared.
EPILOGUE:
Ganondorf entered his castle, and took off his cape.
“I can’t believe I was tricked by him…again!” Ganondorf complained, throwing his cape onto a Bokoblin, who went to put it away. He climbed up to his bedroom, of course in the tallest tower.
“Why did I have to put in so many stairs?” he wondered aloud, finally making it to the top. He unlocked the door, and plopped down onto his bed to rest. He sighed.
“I haven’t had a good plan in a long time, and last time I just used that crazy guy (Zant) as a last resort. Hey…what’s that?” Ganondorf had looked over to his desk, which had something wrapped on top. He opened it, and found inside what looked like the trophy gun from the emissary, but he knew it was one of the laser guns. It was all black, with the coloring on the side purple, instead of blue.
Ganondorf smiled.
