(Last time on The Rift: Gredlor learned of Zelda's position. Link came upon a destroyed Dream Land, and Metaknight attacked Roy and Marth. What of Peach and Wario?)
"I can't believe he lied to me... I guess it's expected from my husband's evil twin." Peach was looking over the picture of her and Mario while she spoke. Tears were still welling up in her eyes, but wouldn't fall from them.
"Eh, did you hear? Luigi is dead now too." Peach looked up at who spoke and saw Wario standing with his back against the left wall next to her cell door. "I felt bad about leaving you here, so I just went to get you your weapon." Wario tossed Peach's parasol into her cell and walked a few feet from the cell before throwing a fireball at the bars. Peach opened the parasol in front of her to avoid being hit by the debris.
"When we get out of here, I'm still going to hurt you for lying to me." Wario waved off Peach's warning and signaled her to follow him. Peach closed her parasol and carried it over her shoulder as if it were a sword. The hallway they were in housed roughly one hundred cells, all furnished with a sink and an empty floor. The hallway ran north to south and Peach's cell was on the eastern wall.
"I still need to beat the crap out of Waluigi for abandoning me, so let's go this way." The two started heading south and Peach found it surprisingly hard to keep up with Wario. The majority of the cells were empty, but there were a few creatures or people in some of the cells.
"Wait a second Wario." Wario skidded to a stop, almost tripping from his momentum and spun around to see Peach approaching a cell on the western wall. "It's Yoshi! We need to check these wall to see who else we can find." Peach put her parasol in between the middle bars of the cell and opened it, bending the bars out of the way. She could hear Wario destroying the cell doors to a few cells that were a little farther away.
"Oooohhhhh.... yosh... huh? YOSHI!!!" Yoshi sprung up when he saw Peach and ran unto her open arms for a hug. "Yoshi!!"
"I'm glad your okay Yoshi, Wario is here helping me free some other friends." Peach led Yoshi out of his cell and saw a few people gathered around Wario, and he was looking less than happy about it. Wario saw Peach emerging from the cell and jumped over the small grouping and sprinted towards her.
"Stop him, he's trying to attack the princess." Fox yelled, he couldn't find his blaster so he ran after Wario as fast as he could. Zero Suit Samus pulled out her zero-gun and fired a paralysis shot at Wario. The shot hit it's target and Wario tumbled over himself and landed on his face, skidding to a halt right in front of Peach.
"Wait, he isn't trying to hurt me, he saved me, and I bet he saved you too." Wario looked up at Peach giving her a 'you should have said something sooner' look. ZSS and Fox looked at each other and then apologized to Wario. "So, the people freed from the cells are... Yoshi, Fox, ZSS and Ike. This should be more than enough of a group for an escape plan."
"Not if I can help it."

(Last time on The Rift: Wario has a change of heart and helps Peach out of her cell, they came across other imprisoned friends and set them free as well. Let's see how Zelda is doing.)
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" Gredlor stood outside of the Hylian summer home staring down a couple of guards.
"My name is Gredlor and I request an audience with the princess." The guards unsheathed their swords when he finished speaking and pointed the tips at him.
"Who told you of the princess being here?"
"Other than a castle being at the edge of the lake, heavy guard and the factor that you just told me? I was told by one of the guards at Hyrule castle. I am not going to leave until I get an audience with the princess." The guards looked at each other and one of them nodded and ran towards into the castle. The remaining guard turned around and stared at Gredlor.
"He is going up to ask the princess if she would like an audience with you." Gredlor put a hand over his face, sighed heavily and shook his head.
"Well..." Gredlor took the axe off of his back and ran his thumb over the sharpened edge to test it. "... I was planning on going to see her no matter what."
*In Zelda's room*
"So there is a tall, green, blue-haired, red eyed beast with a large battle-axe outside of the castle wanting to talk to me..." Zelda was still in Link's room sitting on his bed with a picture of them locked in a passionate kiss in her hands. "... let him in, I'll talk to him." The guard seemed taken aback by what she said, but headed for the door none-the-less.
"Princess, your carriage has arrived." Zelda looked up as the door was broken down, crushing the guard. The figure standing in the door frame was exactly as the guard had described it.
"So you must be Gredlor, what business do you have with me?" Gredlor seemed a little confused as to why the princess didn't seem surprised, or even scared that he had ransacked the entire castle and killed all of the guards. He walked farther into the room, but something stopped him before he got within reaching distance of Zelda.
"So you are the legendary princess of the Three Goddesses, Zelda. I have been ordered by my leader, Grondorvan, to take you to him. If you come with me without trouble, I will assure you that he will not harm you." Zelda gave a faux look of belief, then shouted 'Din's Fire' and sent him into the hall with an explosion.
"I am not going to be delivered to anyone. If your leader wants me, tell him to come and get me, until then I am not leaving this room." Gredlor climbed to his feet and brushed himself off.
"I really didn't want to do this, princess." He picked up his axe and looked Zelda in the eyes. "But you leave me no choice." Gredlor vanished and reappeared in front of Zelda and punched her in the stomach. All the air in Zelda's lungs flushed out and she fell unconscious. "Sorry, princess. But next stop is my boss's warehouse."
Gredlor hauled Zelda up onto his shoulder and jumped out of the window. After landing safely he sprinted northwest towards the hideout. As he sprinted he thought about what he had just done, he thought about how he had just done the opposite of what he preached... about how much like Grondorvan he was becoming...
