Chapter 5: The Brawl On Yoshi’s Island

ROB was showing Mario and friends Professor E. Gadd’s latest space craft. The detail of the ship left Mario and crew stunned. ROB explained some of the features of the craft.
ROB: Amazing isn’t it? This is The Star Cruiser 3000. It can cross mere galaxies in a matter of minutes at top speed. Let’s check the inside so I can explain the controls.
They all enter the enormous space ship. The inside of it looked just as advanced as the outside.
ROB: This space ship contains 1 emergency escape pod that can hold up to 2. Over there is the control panel. You use this button to start the engine, this steers it, and these control the weapons.
ROB continued explain the controls and features of The Star Cruiser 3000. Mario knew this ship would be an invaluable asset to their journey.
ROB: Ok? I think you’re ready to go save Yoshi now. You all ready?
Mario, Peach, and Luigi: YES!
ROB: Then here you go! These are the keys. Hold on while I go open the sky door so you can leave. Good luck guys!
ROB left the ship and opened up the sky door. Mario put in the key and started the craft. It started to slowly lift off the ground. Slowly it became further and further away from the ground. Soon it passed through the sky door and it was free to fly.
Mario: Hmm now to find Yoshi’s Island. ROB said this thing had a GPS coordinate system. There we go. Now to Yoshi’s Island! Buckle up everyone!
Everyone strapped on their seatbelt as Mario hit the accelerator and blasted off for Yoshi’s Island. The speed of the ship was unbelievable.
Mario: I think I see my house from here!
Luigi: I think I can see my house from here too.
Mario: Luigi, we both live in the same house!!!
Peach chuckled. Within minutes they had reached Yoshi’s Island.
Mario: We’re here!
Luigi: Aww…But I didn’t even have any time to enjoy the in-flight movie!
Mario: Ok where should I land this thing?
The Star Cruiser 3000 slowly made its decent toward the ground. Mario was busy looking for a good place to park.
Peach: There, in that parking lot.
It was a small parking lot made of man made product. The parking lot was made for outsiders to park their mode of transportation. Mario landed the star cruiser in a parking spot. It was then that he noticed something. It was a coin meter.
Mario: What?! I have to pay a 10 coin parking fee? (Sigh)
Mario paid the meter 10 coins. Mario, Peach, and Luigi got out of the ship and prepared for the worse.
They parked on top of a small hill. As the walked to the peak of the hill they began to see the horrifying image. Thousands and thousands of Yoshi’s fighting to the death. There were Yoshis of all different color. Mario and his friends knew somewhere in this island was their friend Yoshi. Peach couldn’t help but fear that Yoshi was somewhere hurt badly as they looked on to the battlefield.
Mario: We have to go find Yoshi somewhere in that battlefield Are you ready guys?
Luigi was frightened but he remained strong.
Luigi: Yeah Mario… I’m ready.
Peach: I’m ready.
Mario: Ok… Let’s do this.

They ran at full speed down the hill into the heat of battle. Within seconds of reaching the bottom of the hill, many Yoshis began to attack them. The Yoshis were like sharks that could smell blood in the water. Peach took out her frying pan and began to beat Yoshi after Yoshi with it. Luigi was using his speed to evade each attack and hit the Yoshis with a strong counterattack. Mario was easily dodging and beating the tar out of Yoshi after Yoshi with minimal effort. The overwhelming numbers couldn't stop Mario as he opened up a serious can of whoop a**.
Mario: It’s a good thing I got those fighting lessons from Chuck Norris when he visited the Mushroom Kingdom.
The mass number of Yoshis finally started to sink in. The Heroes were soon overwhelmed by the large amounts of Yoshis. They began to try to come up with a quick plan as the Yoshis started to inflict some damage on the trio.
Peach: There’s too many of them!!! What do we do Mario?
Mario: I got it. Luckily I got this from ROB before we left.
Mario had a device around his wrist in the form of a watch. As the three continued to fight Mario explained what the device was.
Mario: It’s an Item Watch! This device contains in it several items for emergency use.
Peach: WELL USE SOMETHING! QUICK!
Mario selected The Music Box. A soothing lullaby was playing that put all the Yoshis to sleep.
Mario: Their all fast asleep now! We need to hurry and find Yoshi!
Peach and Luigi: Right!
The heroes ran as fast as they could away from the huge swarm of Yoshis. Their time was limited. They searched all over the tiny Island. In the mountains, in the woods, but Yoshi was nowhere to be found. They had almost completely given up hope when they saw a small figure in the distant of a small grassy area. It was small and injured.
Mario: Is that… I think it is!!!! It’s Yoshi.
The heroes ran to the aid of their injured friend.
Peach: He’s badly hurt. Mario do you have a Mushroom in that watch?
Mario: Of course!
Mario selected a red mushroom and fed it to Yoshi. Within moments Yoshi was stirring again.
Yoshi: Uhhhh ahhhhh owwww…. Ma… Mario is that you?
Mario: Yeah, It’s me I brought Luigi and Peach. What has happened here Yoshi?
Yoshi: As I told you the Yoshis have mysteriously gone evil and insane. I somehow manage to survive and prevent myself from ending up like them. I happened to spot a peculiar black mist before it happened though. Where are the Yoshis anyways?
Mario: Don’t worry thank to E. Gadd’s Item Watch, I used a Music Box to put them all to sleep. The effects of that should be wearing of any moment now. We need to get you out of here now!
Yoshi: Why?
Mario: According to Luigi, he witnessed the effects of that same black mist. It turned Wario just like it did Bowser completely evil. Apparently whoever inhales the mist is turned completely evil. Someone or something must be causing this. We must stop it or our world and probably our entire universe could be in danger! We were on are way to find Professor E. Gadd to hopefully find out the cause so we can stop it. You might be the only one left who isn’t under the mist’s effect. We need your help Yoshi!
Yoshi: So you want me to leave my friends and family here alone so they can eventually kill each other. I can’t do that. I WON’T GO!
Peach: Yoshi, please!!!!! If you try to save them you could end up like them. There is nothing you can do for them.
Luigi: She’s right! Those who are possessed by the mist will never stop fighting! Even if you beat them down they continue to kill. You would just be killed!
Yoshi: But….
Mario: I know this is hard Yoshi but you must come with. We can help you avenge your friends and family. I promise that soon things will be back to normal.
Yoshi: ………………………………………You’re right Mario…But how are we going to escape?
Mario: Near the other side of the island we have a space ship that will get us out of here. However all the evil Yoshi are all right in front of where we parked it.
Yoshi: So we’re in for a fight huh?
Luigi: Not exactly!
Yoshi, Peach, and Mario turn to look at Luigi.
Luigi: If I could somehow round up a bunch of the Yoshis all in one place I could probably trap them within my negative zone.
Peach: Yeah and I could do the same with my peach blossom!
Mario: Ok here’s what we’ll do since I’m obviously out of Music Boxes. Me and Yoshi will lead a bunch of Yoshis to Peach and Luigi’s position you do your attack and while their stunned we run for the ship.
Yoshi: Uhh Mario? We might want to start on that running RIGHT NOW!
Mario: Why?
Yoshi pointed at the swarm of evil Yoshis headed right for The Heroes.
All: RRRRRUUUUNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!
The heroes seemed to run from the evil Yoshis for what seemed like forever. Finally they saw their ship in the distant. However a huge group of Yoshis were blocking the path. They were now cornered as the evil Yoshis now crowd around the heroes. The Yoshis auras glowed dark black as the all charged in for the kill. Their power was overwhelming. The heroes couldn’t keep up with all of the attacks. The Yoshi’s were all huddled together around them as they were continued to be beaten on.
Mario: Yoshi, Peach, Luigi, DO IT!!!!!!
Yoshi quickly grew dragon like wings and grabbed Mario as Yoshi flew out of the evil Yoshis range of attack. They flew over head as Peach unleashed her Peach Blossom. At the same time Luigi unleashed the Negative Zone. The evil Yoshis were now all trapped. Luigi and Peach quickly pushed their way through the immobilized crowd of Yoshis. The four of them rejoin each other as they ran to the ship. They rushed inside and quickly shut the door. As the door shut, the Yoshi once again became free. The Yoshis all charge for the ship. Mario started up the ship. It quickly started to ascend. Just in the nick of time, the ship ascended just beyond the reach of the Yoshis. The evil Yoshi’s try to jump at it but it was to far away at that point. Mario, Peach, Yoshi, and Luigi all let out a big sigh of relief as the barely escaped. They looked on at Yoshi’s Island as the ascended into space. Yoshi swore to himself he would avenge his friends and family that were possessed.
Mario: Next stop Hyrule!!!!
