Chapter 30: The Final Encounter Part 2
The Pokemon Center was packed full of people as usual. Several people were just taking a breather from their pokemon quest. Old men sat about prattling about old times, and a few broken hearts paced around after a loss to the local gym leaders. None of which were aware of the perilous dealings of the legendary pokemon. Each was minding their own business as if it were another day as normal. The Nurse kindly greeted each and every trainer with a smile as she placed their pokeballs on the healing machine and presented their pokemon back with full health within a matter of seconds. Life was moving at the same slow pace until the inhabitants of the center heard a small rumble. Slowly, one by one everyone stopped speaking and listened as the rumble became louder and louder until it stopped completely.
Everyone stopped to listen for anything else except for one hard-of hearing elderly man who kept shouting at his friend that he wasn’t paying attention to his story. Then, the front doors flew open as a Weezing floated quickly into the middle of the room. Every eye stared at the random Weezing until he used a Smog attack to fill the room full of toxic clouds, shrouding everyone’s vision. Waving their arms and trying to find the exit the people seemed in a panic which was only enhanced when the back wall burst into the room. A loud roar was heard from the newly open hole as Steelix stuck his head in to look at the chaos Weezing and he had created. Machamp stepped in through the hole and made his way over to the Healing Machine. He pulled the chords from the wall and lifted it over his head with his upper arms and carried it out of the back wall. Weezing followed as Steelix turned around. Quickly the trio made their way back up to Alakazam and the rocket ship, fully proud of their accomplished mission.
Not too far away, a trainer was walking up the hillside to the Mossdeep Pokemon center. He was around the age of nineteen. This young man had long flowing red hair and wore a black coat-like shirt. He had a tough demeanor about him despite his smile. A Crobat flew happily beside him. Gold was laughing at his triumph.
Gold: “Well Crobat, I’m glad you finally evolved for me. I know it’s been a long hard road these past eight years, but I think I’m doing better. I’m not a mindless buffoon like I used to be.”
The Crobat smiled at his trainer. He had, in fact, become a much better master than in previous years. He still feared a relapse in which his master would shout at him for being too weak, exclaiming that he hated the weak and if he wasn’t a strong pokemon like the others then he would be abandoned, but for the moment he was just happy that his master was happy. All in all, Gold had changed for the better. He had finally realized the true meaning of being a Pokemon trainer. Gold walked along with Crobat flying beside him till screaming filled the air. The pair looked ahead of them to see a small bit of a strange colored smoke rising into the air. Gold recalled his Crobat to his pokeball and ran on up the hill to see people fleeing the Pokemon Center. He brushed his hair out of his face as he ran towards the door of the Pokemon center and peerd in. The fumes almost knocked him to the ground as he lifted his arm to his nose. He looked around for any signs of what had happened and noticed a large hole in the back of the center. Running out of the hole and into the fresh air he looked around once more for any signs or clues. He looked down to see a groove in the earth going up the hill. As he followed the mark with his eyes, he could have sworn he saw the tail of a Steelix whip around the corner of a building. He knew he should stay out of the situation, but he was intrigued. Unsure of whether it was his new-found desire to help, or if it was a recurrence of his old love of trouble that urged him on, Gold pulled out a pokeball and ran up the hill after the tail to get some answers.
Behind the Rocket Research Facility, multitudes of pokemon continued to appear by teleportation, then ushered into pokeballs and loaded on to the rocket ship. Meowth, Blaziken and Absol were still trying as hard as they could but were beginning to tire. A pair of Abra joined them, using their psychic abilities to hasten the process. Haunter kept creeping back and forth from the building to ensure the workers inside were fast asleep. Alakazam continued his watch over the dealings as he raised each pokeball into the rocket. The nearby group of Electrode he had pulled aside earlier sat and watched everything happening. Alakazam inclined his head to the right as Steelix, Machamp and Koffing returned with the Healing Machine. Meowth noticided it, stared for a minute then just shook his head and continued throwing pokeballs. Too many crazy things had happened in the last few hours that he figured it best to just keep his nose out of this one. Alakazam smiled as he floated over to the trio.
Alakazam: “Excellent work you three. Was there any trouble?”
Machamp: “None at all, Alakazam. They only saw Weezing before he sprayed their eyes with haze.”
Alakazam: “Thank you all, now if you don’t mind to get yourselves into pokeballs. I can take the rest from here.”
Machamp lowered the Healing Machine and made his way over to the queue of pokemon awaiting pokeballs, Weezing and Steelix joined. Alakazam lifted himself, the machine, and the electrode into the rocket and disappeared for several minutes. As more and more pokeballs made their way into the rocket, Gold peered from around the corner. The sight playing before his eyes startled him to say the least. Why would hundreds of pokemon rare and common be appearing by teleportation and getting into pokeballs? Gold continued to stare at the scene with his pokeball in hand till he was struck full force in the face by a rock. Screaming in pain he fell backwards clutching his forehead. He looked up and before him stood a Kadabra. The Kadabra glared down at the red-haired trainer with loathing.
Gold: “Ka…Ka…Kadabra?”
Kadabra’s eyes glowed as he raised his arm. Gold rose into the air and was slammed against the side of the building. Falling to the ground below him, Gold threw his pokeball. The ball landed a few inches in front of the Kadabra. The psychic floated backwards as Feraligatr appeared roaring towards the Kadabra.
Gold: “Feraligatr, help me! Crunch Attack!”
Feraligatr leaped toward the Kadabra with his razor sharp tooth-ridden mouth first prepared for a crunch attack. Kadabra used his powers to slide to one side then blasted a psybeam at the fallen gator pokemon. Kadabra then sped over to Gold and clutched his hand around Gold’s throat. Gold looked down at the pokemon scared for his life and confused until he looked at the Kadabra’s head. There was a scar across the top of his head. With deep fear he looked wide eyed at the pokemon in full realization of what was happening. About this time the others had noticed the behaviour of the rouge Kadabra and had run over. A Scizor attempted to pry the Kadabra’s hand off Gold’s throat but was tossed back over toward the queue of pokemon causing a voltorb to self destruct.
Meowth: “What is happening now??? What the hell!!!??”
Feraligatr shook his head and began to fire a Hydro Pump at the Kadabra, but Kadabra reflected it back at him sending him flying to the ground. The Kadabra continued to hold his psychic grip on Gold’s throat whose face began to turn blue. He struggled to get loose, but it was no good. He was going to die. His life was going to be taken by this Kadabra….and he deserved his fate. Suddenly, the grip on his throat released as the Kadabra was sent flying into the side of the building. Kadabra psychicly tossed the rubble from his body and looked around at his attacker as Alakazam floated down between Gold and Kadabra.
Alakazam: “Enough! I agree he deserves as much as you can give but I will not allow you to kill him. It is not your place. I fully understand your anger but you are better than your past!”
The Kadabra huffed as he turned his face from Alakazam and vanished into the air to continue his duty and get away from the human. The pokemon went back to the queue with the exception of Alakazam, Meowth, Blaziken and Absol. Alakazam watched as his Abras continued to capture pokemon and lift them into the rocket. He then turned around to face Gold who was gaining color in his face.
Gold: “Thanks for trying Feraligatr, you did great! Return”
Meowth: “Who’s this clown?”
Blaziken: “and why was that Kadabra acting so.”
Alakazam: “It’s been awhile, Gold. I doubted I would ever see you again, and it looks like I was actually wrong on this one. That doesn’t happen often. Why are you here?”
Gold: “I noticed the chaos at the Pokemon Center and saw a Steelix tail whip around the back of this building so I followed it.”
Alakazam: “Meowth, Blaziken, Absol, this is Gold. I met him in Johto eight years ago. That Feraligatr you saw was his first pokemon. He broke into Professor Elm’s lab and stole him, claming that weak pokemon are pointless. He constantly bullied Silver and had no love for his pokemon at all; they were just tools. This wretch fought with Silver until he finally realized something was wrong with his training and went away to think about his situation, but apparently it did no good. He went to train his pokemon and used all manner of torture on them to make them strong including whips and throwing rocks. His least experienced pokemon was a Kadabara. After losing several battles in a row with this Kadabra, he beat him and abandoned him to die. One of my fellow psychics found him bleeding in the grass and brought him to me. He is now one of the strongest of our group now. So, Gold, how many more pokemon have you destroyed from your cruelty?”
Gold: “I….I’m sorry. I have been a horrible trainer and I deserve the death Kadabra almost gave me. I should never have done that to him. After I realized the error of my ways I tried to find him. I searched for him for a full week, but could not find him. I was afraid he had died. I’m so glad that he was found and taken well care of though. I did, however find my Typhlosian during my search for Kadabra. Although I do not have Haunter anymore, I legitimately traded him to another trainer for his Meganium, so there is no need to worry about him. I wish there was a way to repay my doings.”
Alakazam: “I truly don’t think there is a way you could completely wipe your slate clean. I am still not entirely convinced that you are meaning well. This could be just another trick of yours to stir up trouble, but I will allow you to help for now. Everyone at least deserves a chance. Go help my Abras, and these three with capturing pokemon and placing them into the rocket. Come, I shall explain everything to you as we head that way.”
Gold walked over to the box with Alakazam explaining about the destruction headed their way. Absol, Blaziken, and Meowth looked at each other wondering if allowing this human to help was a good idea or not, but also wondering how the others were doing fighting that dragon.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rayquaza met Giratina head-on in a full collision. Teeth and claws were flying through the air as the pair continued to battle. Ridley soared into the air as Giygas teleported. The other pokemon began to look for signs of either one. Cresselia, however, rose into the air and shot like a cannon toward Giratina. Suddenly a loud screech was heard as the pokemon looked toward the sun for its source. Ridley dove out of the sun’s brilliance straight toward the group below. Both flying and land-bound creatures scattered. Half were met by the sudden teleportation of Giygas before them, the others watched as Ridley adjusted his path directly towards them.
Raikou growled at Giygas as electricity surged through his mouth, he leaped forward for a thunder fang attack, but Giygas stretched out his arm and grasped a hold of the legend’s forehead slamming him to the ground. Ridley swooped down past the opposite group of legends, stirring a dust cloud in his wake. Regirock, who was used to the earth, took advantage of the situation as he conjured a large sharp stone and send it flying in Ridley’s direction. Ridley grasped it in his mouth and threw it back down at the group knocking Regigigas over. Giratina used a powerful Shadow Claw attack across Rayquaza who let go of the ghostly dragon which allowed time for Cresselia to send across a few ineffective psycho cut attacks. Heatran and Groudon began to climb from their magma pool to join the battle as Kyogre floated over towards the other grouping. Entei and Darkrai both ran towards Giygas. Quickly, Darkai shrouded the area in darkness as he pressed forward then vanished as Eneti jumped into the air directly in front of his prey and performed a devastating fire blast. Giygas held up his hand as energy flowed from it stopping the attack, but Darkrai appeared behind him using a Shadow Ball to strike him.
Ridley was having a little more difficulty of his own as Registeel continuously fired a longer than usual hyper beam at the dragon. Lugia and Ho-oh tailed closely behind throwing Aeroblasts and Sacred Fire attacks. Zapdos and Articuno took advantage of Darkai’s attack on Giygas to fly circles around the alien. They spun faster and faster while firing Thunder and Blizzard attacks at him. Giygas was buffeted by these attacks but sent a pulsing blast of dark energy knocking both birds and Darkrai away from him. Giratina having now gotten free from Rayquaza’s grasp swooped down upon the group standing before Giygas. He slammed down to the ground grasping Latias in his mouth and flinging her into the trees. Latios sped to help her as Kyogre leaped out of the water and slammed into Giratina. Suicine had teamed up with Registeel who were taking turns between Aurora beam and hyper beam trying to take down ridley, occasionally catching the tip of his tail or a small portion of wing. Regigias, although still moving slowly thanks to his slow start special ability, had finally risen from the ground and was making his way over to Giratina as Shaymin began sending a barrage of magical leaf attacks at all three of the opponents. Giygas quickly teleported away and appeared behind the group of pokemon. Charging up a blast of energy he fired it straight down the middle scattering them even more. Similarly, Giratina shot an ancient power rock barrage toward the pokemon attacking Ridley. The pair knew fully well that in smaller numbers these creatures would fall.
Ridley, suddenly free from the beams bearing upon him from below turned on Lugia and Ho-oh who were following him and rushed toward them, grasping both birds by the neck and plummeting them to the ground below. Rock flew into the air as the earth gave way to their bodies. Laughing as he looked at the pair, Ridley began to rise into the air, but was caught by Groudon’s claw. Ridley shot a fireball towards the beast, but it was of little effect. Groudon looked up to the sky, began to enforce his special ability of Drought to cause the sun to shine brightly. Gathering this sunlight in his mouth he blasted a powerful Solarbeam in Ridley’s face which sent the dragon flying into the water. Lugia and Ho-oh rose from the ground as the newly angered Ridley rose from the water. Heatran was closing in on Giratina who was currently swiping his tail at Raikou and Darkrai. Heatran blasted a Magma Storm toward the ghostly legend, but it was too late as Giratina vanished into the shadows. The small group around him ran from the flying fire and began to look around for any sign of Giratina. Suddenly the area around Heatran exploded in a black mist as Heatran was sent flying the air. Giratina had used his signature Shadow Force move. Spreading his wings and rushing towards the others, Giratina bit down on Articuno’s neck and dragged him through the dirt.
Giygas was dealing with his own group of legends as well. Rayquaza had turned to him firing hyper beams as often as possible and swinging his gigantic tail. Latios and Latias had rejoined the group swirling around Giygas blasting psychic energy as well as Moltres who continuously shot flamethrowers. After ducking another hyperblast, Giygas stretched his tentacle-like arms out, grasping both Latios and Latias and bashing their skulls together. He then tossed the pair into the face of Rayquaza sending them flying a short distance. Seizing the opportunity, he rushed towards Moltres and grasped it by the neck. As the bird struggled, a smile ran across Giygas’ face as he teleported with the bird in grasp. It was only a matter of seconds when Giygas re-appeared with the bird thousands of feet below sea level. Giygas smiled once more at the bird in an almost half-kind maniacal way as this smile would be the last thing the bird saw. Teleporting back to the surface, Giygas left the bird to drown. Flapping its wings trying to get back to the surface was no use as Moltres exhaled for the last time and its flame was lit no more. Slowly the defeated bird’s body rose to the surface.
Regigias began to run towards Giratina, he was finally up to speed with the others. His body glowed a silver color as he ran and suddenly Giratina was met with the full force of a Giga Impact. Giratina’s body twirled through the air before skidding to a halt. Giratina turned his now red eyes on the gargantuan and opened his mouth. A large blue orb began to appear before the ghost’s face before shooting towards Regigigas. The hit was solid as the titan shot through the trees leaving a path of devastation where he flew. Ridley was flying back towards the shore but rather than face Lugia and Ho-Oh head on, he dove beneath them and headed straight for Groudon. Kyogre doused the dragon using his Water Spout attack which caused Ridley to veer off target, but Ridley blasted a ball of dark energy submerging the beast once more. Groudon attempted to guard himself but was too slow as Ridley ran full force into the giant’s stomach causing him to topple over. Quickly the dragon turned toward Registeel and Suicune. Both pokemon charged up an attack, but right as they released it, Ridley flew into the air causing both the aura and hyber beams to strike the already injured Groudon.
Lugia: “Pay attention guys!”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Above the atmosphere of the Pokemon planet, both Deoxys floated watching the entire thing.
Deoxys 2: “Should we help them?”
Deoxys 1: “Why would we? Don’t you remember what happened? Do you really want to help that infernal dragon?”
Deoxys 2: “Despite what you may think we are still pokemon. These are our brethren. It is our duty regardless of our past to help them. I’m going whether you are or not. Will you join me? Don’t do it for Rayquaza, do it for Latias and Latios, and the others as well.”
The elder of the Deoxys stared blankly down at the planet before answering. His mind raced from desperately finding his friend, to his battle with Rayquaza, to Latio and Latias’ kindness. He did not want to help, but knew that if he did not, the fate of their world would be bleak. At least if he helped, his conscience would be clean.
Deoxys 1: “I suppose you are right. They are losing horribly. The least we can do is aid them. Latios and Latias did show us kindness”
Deoxys 2: “Let’s hurry before it’s too late”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Giygas had only just teleported back above the water as Uxie, Azelf, and Mespirt attacked with psybeams. The three were in a triangular formation and were using their psychic powers to create a barrier around them. Emulating them immediately, Giygas created a dark barrier around himself. The trio and Giygas began floating around over the ocean crashing into each other causing shots of psychic or dark energy to spew like lighting over the surroundings. The attacks continued filling the air with terrible sounds and flashes of light. Rayquaza turned his interest towards Giratina and flew off in his direction. Rayquaza wrapped his tail around Giratina once more as he spun around once flinging Giratina to the ground. Taking advantage of the situation Heatran and Entei both cast Fire Blasts at the newly created hole in the earth. Giratina burst from the flame slightly charred but angry. The ghost rushed at Entei performing a shadow claw across his face, falling to the ground Entei roared in pain. Giratina then charged up one more aura sphere. As Giratina gained more power for the attack, a strange thing happened. His natural abilities for aura sphere were combined with the dark powers imparted upon him by giygas. The ball became larger and more fierce than any other aura sphere had been before. Suddenly, he blasted it at Heatran. Heatran stood firm to take the brunt of the attack as to not be flown out of commission once more. He was going to do the best he could to stay in the fight.
The consequence of Heatran’s choice was a deadly one. Speeding through the air, the darkness enhanced aura sphere struck Heatran’s steel-plated skull. As the attack bore into his skull, the plate began to crack. Clenching his teeth from the pain, Heatran continued to brace against the attack. Suddenly, as the aura sphere faded away, Giratina rushed in and skewered his tail through Heatran’s skull. Heatran’s eyes widened as he gasped for air. Pulling his tail from the fire type’s brain, Giratina watched Heatran collapse, the possession Giygas had placed upon made him not even realize he had just killed a friend. He looked into Heatran’s blackened eyes before stamping upon his face to ensure complete death. Meanwhile, Ridley was continuing to use stealth to his advantage as he sped by slightly attacking Suicune, Registeel, Lugia, and Ho-oh. Shaymin attempted to aid his friends by shooting energy balls, but after striking Suicune and Ho-Oh due to Ridley’s speed, Shaymin decided to once again use his fool-proof attack, the Magical Leaf. Shaking his entire body, Shaymin continued to shoot magical leaves at the speeding dragon. Each one homed in on Ridley, cutting him. Ridley tried additional maneuvers, but the Magical leaves never missed. Now becoming extremely angry, Ridley swooped down on shaymin and kicked him several feet away. As Shaymin shook his head to get his bearings, he heard a loud crash beside him. He opened his eyes to see Ridley staring down at him with his mouth open wide. Shaymin squealed for help but Ridley began to breathe blue flames down on the tiny hedgehog.
Shaymin squirmed, but the flames were too hot and wide spread for him to escape. Suddenly Ridley was met with a severe blast of water and was sent crashing into a nearby tree. Kyogre washed up on shore after his attack on the dragon and looked down at the Grass hedgehog. His attempts were too late as the lifeless charred form of Shaymin lay on the ground. Rayquaza was now both angered and panicked. Too many of his fellow pokemon had fallen to these creatures with absolutely no harm done to any of them. Latios and Latias both sped over to help Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf. The trio and Giygas were continuing to bash each other causing no harming damage to the other. Both Latios and Latias fired attacks at Giygas, but his barrier only reflected them. Strangely, at the same instance, Giygas and the trio lowered their barriers and attempted to strike each other with blast attacks. Each attack was met perfectly with that of the opponents. Occasionally a stray ball would fly through the air. This continued for several minutes until one flew straight for Latias and Latios. Latias closed her eyes and squealed, but Latios flew ahead of her, allowing the attack to hit him. Latios body began to shake in place as he floated in the air. Uxie, Azelf, and Mespir ceased their attack on Giygas only for a second to look at their friend, but Giygas seized the opportunity to extend his arm, bashing each one in a different direction. Giygas then lifted his arms high and began gathering energy. Latios had only just started to regain control of his body as Giygas sent the attack flying his way. It struck Latios square on with an explosive result. Once again, Latios body shook uncontrollably until he plunged towards the water below. Latias screamed as she looked and shot towards the water, grasping Latios before he fell into the water.
Latias: “Why? Why did you do that you fool?”
Latios: “I guess…I just love….”
Latios looked lovingly into Latias’ face one last time before his head fell limp and lifeless. Latias could no longer hold him as she dropped him into the ocean to sink. Tears filled her eyes as rage filled her heart. She loved Latios. How dare that creature take him from her. Giygas floated above Latias laughing menacingly. Clenching her fists, she rose into the air to face Giygas. She charged up a mist ball and shot it at the alien who merely knocked it away.
Giygas: “Give it up, you are no match for me!”
Latias: “I may not be as powerful as you, but I hold the love of Latios in my heart, and that cannot be so easily defeated. You will feel the pain I feel now.”
Latias closed her eyes and began to glow. Her entire body became engulfed in a Mist Ball. Giygas merely stared blankly at her as she gathered more and more psychic energy. Instantly, she shot across the sky and struck Giygas. The result of this attack was explosive as white light filled the entire sky in an explosion. Body part began to fly across the sky as the light began to dim down. Latios used every bit of life in her to attack Giygas, however he floated above the water seemingly unphased. Half of his entire body was missing, but rather than fall over dead, he began to laugh. To the horror of the other pokemon the missins pieces of Giygas’ body began to regrow instantly.
Giygas: “Do you foolish creatures think I can be defeated that easily? I am tired of this little game, we end this now!”
Giratina and Ridley flew into the air behind Giygas as Rayquaza persued them. Gathering energy into a gigantic ball, Giygas stared down the green dragon speeding his way. Rayquaza charged up a Dragon Pulse and fired it right as Giygas released his own attack. The pair met in the air and began to shake furiously until suddently Giygas’ attack broke free and struck Rayquaza. The dragon flew to the ground below. As Giygas lifted both arms above his head and began to gather energy into a ball to finish the legend off, a swooping noise was heard behind him. He inclined his head slighgly behing him, but was met with the full force of two hyper beams. The blasts sent Giygas plummeting to the water below. Ridley and Giratina were shocked by this sudden occurrence and whipped around to view the attackers. There, floating in the sky, were both Deoxys. Roaring loudly, Ridley and Giratina both tore throught he sky towards the Deoxys. Both, sensing the danger, transformed into their sleak streamlined speed form and rushed through the atmosphere. With such extreme speeds, Ridley and Giratina could not keep up. The pair continued to circle both dragons striking or using psychic abilities as they flew. Finally abandoning the pair, both Deoxys landed near the hurt Rayquaza.
Rayquaza: “De…Deoxys?”
Deoxys 1: “Where are Latios and Latias?”
Mesprit: “They’re...they’re dead.”
Deoxys 2: “NO! We were too late. I knew I should have said something sooner.”
Deoxys 1: “It’s not your fault, don’t beat yourself up over it!”
Raquaza: “Deoxys, I didn’t think you would ever come down to help after all the trouble I put you through. I can’t say how sorry i..”
Deoxys 1: “Drop it! Now’s not the time or the place. It won’t be long before that thing re-appears or those two get a bright idea.”
The remaining pokemon had all gathered around in the same spot once more near the new Deoxys, prepared for Giygas to return from the watery depths. Just as if qued, water shot high into the sky as Giygas appeard for the first time angry. He was pulsing with energy with the look of death upon his face. Giygas lifted on arm and snapped his fingers, suddenly a rain of dark energy pelted down upon the pokemon below. Each pokemon began countering the attac as best as they could, some sending the blasts directly back at their originator, others towards Giratina and Ridley. The pair of dragons flew over to Giygas as he addressed the group one last time.
Giygas: “You… you all will die by any means necessary. No manner of mercy shall spare you this day.”
As Giygas nodded his head towards the pokemon, Giratina and Ridley sped towards them for a final wave of attacks. Varios beams and psychic blasts were shot at them but both seemed to be glowing with more of an aura as if Giygas was protecting them from harm. Each and every attack ricocheted off of their body or simply did nothing as the pair swooped down. Regigigas, once again being one of the largest, was an easy target for Ridley as he bashed him full force into the rock cliff behind. Giratina however went for the group of dogs, flapping his wings and bashing around with his tail. Entei and Suicune were sent flying. Raikou stood his gtound and called down a thunder attack to strike Giratina, but it did no good. Giratina roared into the air using an Earth Power attack to cause the ground beneath Raikou to explode. Caught up in the explosions, Rakiou’s body was buffeted around until he found himself in a small crater. About that time Regigigas has emerged from the rocks with a large bolder in hand. He lifted his arm and began to throw the rock at Ridley who merely looked at him and smiled. Lugia looked from Regigigas to the smiling Ridley to Raikou’s attempt to get out of the hole.
Lugia: “No! Don’t do it!”
It was too late. Regigigas had already thrown the garganutate boulder directly towards Ridley. Rising into the air slightly more, Ridley caught the boulder with his hands and feet and began to spin circles with it. Faster and faster Ridley spun until he was but a purple blur, then suddly he let go. The boulder flew directly towards Raikou who had just reached the top of the crater. Looking up Raikou tried to jump out of the way, but the boulder fell, crushing him beneath. Quickly after the bolder’s impact, Ridley flew directly for the boulder and landed hard upon it shoving the rock deeper into the ground. Rakiou’s paw could be seen from the back corner twitching till it finally rested upon the ground motionless. Both Deoxys took to the sky ignoring the pair close-by and went straight for Giygas who expected someone to come. He shot multiple discs of energy towards the pair who dodged them all. Tranforming into Attack form, the Deoxys split up and flew underwater in an attempt to surprise Giygas, but after emerging from the depths behind him they were met full force with a blast of energy. Giygas was much more dangerous now that he was angry. Zapdos and Articuno began circling around the now able to fight Groudon as the three made their way towards Ridley who quickly saw the trio and flew into the sun once more. Still brilliant from Groudon’s special ability, it was impossible to see where he was. The trio began shooting blasts into the sky hoping to hit their target when suddenly, Articuno was stooped up. Ridley clutched the bird in his feet and headed for the lava patch that Groudon and Heatran had appeared in. Making a nosedive for the lava, Ridley used his new expanded power of fire to cause the magma to move away from his body, but not his prey’s. Within seconds, Ridley emerged from the lava with the burnt rock solid carcass of Articuno. Unceremoniously tossing the body into the trees, Ridley continued his fight with the pokemon.
As Ridley made a fresh pass by the other pokemon, Regigigas reached out his hand and grasped ahold of the dragon using a devastation crush grip attack. Tighter and tighter he squeezed Ridley as he clawed and blasted the giant. Having witnessed Ridley kill his own fellow pokemon using a rock that he had trown gave Regigigas the strength to not budge despite the attacks. He continued to squeeze tigher and tighter like a boa constrictor. Giygas looked around at the scene and noticed the behemoth. Laughing slightly he created a small piece of energy and threw it into the air…within seconds the speck exploded as if thirty barrels of gunpowder had been lit at once. Quite pleased with the result, Giygas sped over to Regigigas, created once more spark similar and tossed it at the beast. Regigigas looked down at the tiny spark on his torso when suddenly it exploded. Ridley spun into the air as pieces of Regigigas’ body scattered the field. Given the success of his latest attack, Giygas continued sending multiple explosions all over the field, many of which sent grass and earth into the air, while another caused the rock embankment to collapse behind them. Darkrai began to attack Giratina’s weakness by using Dark Pulse upon it, whiles Kyogre continued to shoot random Hydro Pumps to no avail. Both Deoxys flew from behind, grasping Giygas and slamming him into the rubble of the rock embankment. With a burst of dark energy, Giygas cleared the are of rubble from around him and sped towards the deoxys. He stretched out his arms, grasping ahold of both pokemon and tossing them hard into the ground. Giygas then placed his arms near his chest and began to gather energy. Quickly he released the beam of energy towards the pair, but Rayquaza flew in the way taking the full blast of the attack.
Rayquaza: “Are…. Are you two ok?”
Deoxys 1: “Affermative, you needn’t have done that. You are hurt as it is.”
Rayquaza: “I just….felt it was right.”
The elder Deoxys and Rayquaza looked into each others eyes and, although no more words were said, they pair permanently put aside any malicious feelings towads each other. They were now fully fighting on the same side. The relatively short battle had been waging on for what seemed to be hours. Poor choices were being made as one by one the pokemon were falling. The Council of Pokemon had failed at the hands of Ridley, Giratina and worst of all, Giygas. Giygas held up his hand to stop his commerades as the pokemon caught their breath.
Giygas: “See, I told you it was useless. Had you joined me we would not have had to kill so many.”
Lugia: “Broken we may be, but we shall not stop until the last of us are dead.”
Giygas: “And you shall have your wish!”
With speed unseen before, Giygas blasted a beam of energy at Lugia causing the bird to freefall to the ground below. Giygas then raised his arms high as a ball of energy the size of a battleship appeared above his head. Laughing maniacaly he gathered more energy before releasing it down upon the few remining pokemon. As the attack sped closer, the legends closed their eyes preparing for destruction, but nothing came. One by one they opened their eyes to see hundreds of Abra and Kadabra using their psychic powers to create an impermeable barrier around the entire group, including Kyogre who was still in the water. In front of them stood none other than Alakazam, who was also using his power to aid to the barrier. Giygas’ attack was bearing down on the barrier before finally dissipating into the air. Giygas looked outraged as he, Giygas and Ridley began attacking the barrier with all of their might. Alakazam turned around to face the hurt Lugia.
Alakazam: “There are three of them? Lugia, we have come for you all now. It is time to leave this planet to its fate and fight these beings elsewhere. The Rocket in Mosdeep city has been filled with pokeballs containing pokemon of varying skill, and we are ready for you all to take your place inside these ultra balls and join us.”
Lugia: “Than….thank you. But…those…three”
Alakazam: “Save your strength, you are badly hurt but I’ve already thought of that as well. Are these all that remain? I didn’t think the death toll would be quite as bad. And don’t worry about the attacks. With the number of psychics in here, we can survive an atomic bomb while inside this barrier. Are you all ready to be teleported to safety?”
Rayquaza: “No. The alien has far to much intelegence and power to be simply evaded by teleportation. I will remain behind to fight them while you all get to safety and get off this rock.”
Ho-Oh: “There’s no need for that!”
Rayquaza: “Of course there is…If you teleport to the rocket he will find you out and destroy the rocket meaning we are all doomed. Besides, I was created to be the guardian of this planet. If it dies, I am to die with it. I leave you all now, don’t let me down. I’ll hold them off as long as I can. Farewell my friends”
Alakazam: “May Arceus be with you, Rayquaza!”
Rayquaza flew from the barrier and blasted a Dragon Pulse at the trio. Ridley, Giygas, and Giratina turned their attacks towards the green dragon. The barrage was too much for him to even counter as his body was tossed around the sky. Looking up at the painful scene above them, One by one Lugia, Ho-oh, Zapdos, Entei, Suicune, Regirock, Registeel, Kyogre, Groudon, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Cresselia, and Darkrai placed themselves in Alakazam’s Ultra balls. The Deoxys pair however continued to stare at Rayquaza. As Alakazam floated the Ultra balls towards them both smacked the ball to the ground and flew from the barrier to join Rayquaza. Alakazam nodded his head as they left and instantly he and his followers teleported away. The pair of Deoxys sped through the sky and used their psychic powers to reflect the attacks back at the trio. The elder of the Deoxys began sending barrages of psychic blasts back at them to counter their own attacks. The youngest of the pair checked on the floating Rayquaza.
Rayquaza: “You two shouldn’t have…”
Deoxys 2: “It doesn’t matter. We’re with you till the end, even if it does mean the end of us as well.”
Rayquaza nodded his head and flew high into the air. Both Deoxys teleported behind the trio and began to attack them from behind. Rayquaza charged up a hyper beam and struck all three villains, but all three stood still. Giygas used his power to speed towards and knock him down to the ground. Ridley and Giratina did the same to both Deoxys.
Giygas: “It’s time to end this pitiful planet.”
All three beings shot like a bullet into the atmosphere. Rayquaza and the Deoxys shook their heads from the fall and quickly persued, sending as many attacks as they could muster. Higher and higher both sets rose until Giygas, Ridley and Giratina were high above the planet. Each one gathering large amounts of energy to them selves, they combined their strength into an attack the size of a continent. There would be no excaping this time as they flung the energy towards the surface of the planet. Rayquaza and the Deoxys attempted to speed through the attack, but it was too much. As the energy beat their bodies, they began to tear into shreds before disappearing for good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Within seconds of his disappearance from the ocean-side, Alakazam and his followers reappeared beside Meowth, Blaziken, Haunter, Absol, and Gold. As soon as they had landed the troop that were with Alakazam lifed a pokeball and placed themselves inside Alakazam lifted his followers into the rocket and then turned towards the others.
Alakazam: “We must leave now before they find us and destroy the rocket which could be any moment. Have my other followers already been placed in the rocket?”
Absol: “The last one came in about five seconds ago.”
Alakazam: “Gold, I need you to take these Ultra Balls and place them on the healing machine. I think the Electrode are enough to power it for that short amount of use.”
Gold: “No problem!”
Meowth: “Well can we get out of here if they could show up any second and kill us all!?!?!”
Alakazam used his powers to lift himself, the ultra balls, and the others into the rocket and sealed the door. Gold grabbed the ultra balls and made his way to the Healing Machine, while Meowth, Alakazam, and Blaziken took a seat in the cockpit. The trio stared at the numerous buttons on the console. Neither were fully aware of the complexity that a rocket actually had.
Blaziken: “Ummm Alakazam? Do you actually know how to make one of these things run?”
Alakazam: “Hmmm I will admit that this is new to me.”
Meowth: “Are you freaking kidding me?! Holy pokeballs we’re all going to die! Push something, anything!”
Meowth began pounding the console out of fear. Surely one of these buttons had to do something. As he pushed various alarms rang out as well as random hatches opening on the inside but finally one of them did something useful. Through his many beatings of the console, the engine fired up and flame began to issue from the rear of the rocket. The rocket sat in place and began to shake violently but was not moving. Looking around for anything, Meowth noticed what appeared to be a joystick in front of him; He grasped ahold of it and began wiggling it back and forth which caused the rocket to shake even more violently. Suddenly, the rocket broke free of its restraint and shot into the air. Meowth held on to the joystick as it began swerving through the sky.
Absol: “Watch where you’re driving this thing!”
Meowth: “Driving? I don’t even know what the hell I’m doing!”
The rocket continued to shoot across the sky and headed directly for a mountain range. In an attempt to change its course, Blaziken pressed some buttons in front of him as Meowth pushed the joystick to one side. Unfortunately, the only thing this accomplished was sending the rocket spin-diving straight toward the mountain. Pokeballs were flying all over the inside of the rocket and constantly striking Gold.
Gold: “What in the hell are you doing up there?”
Haunter: “Up! Pull it up! Up you idiot!”
Alakazam reached over and pulled the joystick back towards Meowth and they shot straight upwards barely scraping the top of the slope. They rose higher and higher into the sky. Alakazam looked out of the window as they rose to see an enormous ball of black energy striking the planet. The rocket had barely made it out of the atmosphere as the planet exploded. The explosion sent a few waves of energy that rocked the ship to and fro.
Gold: “It’s….really gone isn’t it?”
Blaziken: “At least we made it out alive!”
Haunter: “Speak for yourself!”
Meowth: “So, what do we do now?”
Alakazam: “There is a planet at the core of this Galaxy. Mewtwo, Pikachu, and the others have been there before. It is the Smash Planet. I’m sure we can find safety there.”
The rocket veered to the left and pressed on through space
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Triumphant cheers could be heard from Giygas, Ridley and Giratina as the debirs flew around them of the Pokemon Planet. Ridley was flying about space knocking rocks around while Giygas smiled devilishly. Giratina though scanned the area that was once his home. Suddenly Giratina roared loudly in one direction.
Giygas: “What is it?”
Giratina: “Master…a rocket. They have escaped”
Giygas: “Damn! No matter, we shall deal with them later. This will give them time to come up with another plan to amuse us. Ridley, I thank you for your aid here, but I must take Giratina and return from where I came. There is some unfinished business there, and I wish to test Giratina further. Why don’t you tail that rocket and report to our leader about them. It beats being bored.”
Ridley nodded his head, screeched loudly, and then sped off behind the rocket. Giygas directed himself and Giratina in another direction. The Mother Planet was calling him back. Ness and his friends will pay for what they had done.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
High above the debris of the Pokemon Planet, a bright light shone in space as two brightly shining beings appeared from it. One was quite large and appeared to have four legs, while the other seemed more human like, as if it were a young man. The smaller one spoke to the larger.
Young Man: “But, Arceus, couldn’t you have stopped this?”
Arceus: “I’m sure I could have, but their descruction was inevitable. It is difficult to see the majority of my planet deceased, but it was necessary. Those on that vessel and those who had already left needed to learn a valuable lesson. Each and ever pokemon reguardless of commonality or evolutionary stage are important. A common pidgy could be just as useful in the right situation as Rayquaza was today. Besides, your training is what is important now as the times draw dark. Do you understand?
Young Man: “Yes, I do understand. Your teachings are difficult but I will do my best to understand them. Thank you again for everything you have taught me so far.”
Arceus: “It is a pleasure to train you personally, Red.”
