Chapter 22: Allies and Arguments
In a nearly empty region of the universe lay a small asteroid field. It was well known to all that this area, although the shortest path along the lower regions of the universe, was a very dangerous path for any size starship. Most ships simply piloted around the rim of the field as to avoid damage. However, two creatures found this to be a most excellent playground. Tossing rock back and forth and practicing fighting maneuvers, the pair of space pokemon, Deoxys, felt safe here. The two were minding their own business when they heard a rushing sound in the distance. Immediately, the pair turned their heads and floated. They had never seen anyone come through this field before and made it alive. As the sound got closer they witnessed two streams of light weaving amongst the asteroids. Unsure if these light beams would cause a threat the decided to act quickly by tossing two meteors at them. Although the first rock missed its target, the second hit clean. And from the rubble of that impact they saw Latias highly confused.
Latias: “OUCH what was THAT?”
Latios: “You ok? Were you not paying attention?”
Latias: “Yeah let’s automatically assume that I’m being careless….that really hurt?”
Latios looked around to see the cause of this sudden stop when two more meteors were streaming his way. He rushed towards them charging up his luster purge. He shot the beam of light at the meteors and charged through the dust. As he emerged he caught a glimpse of the Deoxys fly behind a rather large asteroid.
Latios: “Hey Latias, you’re not gonna believe this, but I think it’s the Deoxys.”
Latias: “No way! You sure you didn’t hit your head too?”
Latios: “Very funny...Deoxys please come out. We mean you no harm!”
Latias flew over beside Latios as one Deoxys emerged from behind the stationary meteor to address the duo.
Deoxys: “Who are you, and how do you know of us?”
Latias: “We are Latias and Latios, legendary pokemon of the Hoenn region. I know we have never met, but we’ve heard stories from various pokemon of your attempts to rescue your comrade, and the fight with Rayquaza.”
Deoxys: “Indeed. What brings you so far away from Hoenn?”
Latios: “Well, awhile back, a space ship crash landed on our planet. It was Fox McCloud. I’m sure you’ve seen his ship flying around space. Well he showed up telling us of a great destroyer who has the power to obliterate planets. He met up with the legendary pokemon, but not many believed him. Those believers with the exception of Rayquaza and Lugia left with Fox to fight this destroyer, but one of his minions got in our way. The minion was much more powerful than we had imagined, so Mewtwo sent us back to the Pokemon Planet to inform the legends and try to get more help. Hey, would you two come with us and help? We know from the stories that you are very strong. Your services would be appreciated if not even needed!”
Deoxys: “If Rayquaza is helping out, then you can leave us out of it. I wouldn’t help that infernal dragon if it meant the end of the universe.”
Latias: “Funny you should say that, because if we can’t stop this thing. It very well may be. Besides, we have spoken with Rayquaza and he feels terrible about what he did. He’s the planet’s first guardian and sometimes he takes his duty a little too seriously. He’s lightened up honestly.”
Latios: “If you won’t help, would you at least travel with us? Once we reach the planet you can do as you wish, but I would love to travel and hear your story.”
Reluctantly, the pair of Deoxys agreed to fly with Latios and Latias. They did not want to admit it, but all those years out in space alone were beginning to take their toll. They were happy to have some company for a short time, but ultimately had no intention of helping. Together the four pokemon sped on towards the Pokemon Planet.

The Lords of the Land of Fire were walking back towards Marth’s Castle jovial as can be. Ike and Roy were discussing strike by strike details as Marth would occasionally chime in with some minute information they may have missed. Lyn had dropped her serious nature in favor of her usual happiness as she wiped the blood off the Mani Katti. Micaiah and Falco however were in their own little world. Holding hands as they walked at a slower pace between the other lords and the troops. They found themselves lost in each others eyes. Falco couldn’t believe that Micaiah could see past the fact that he was not human; that she did not care what he was, but seemed to enjoy his presence anyway. He cleared his throat and then looked at her once again.
Falco: “So…umm…look, I’m not really good at this sort of stuff, but I guess we need to get to know each other better or something? Isn’t that what’s supposed to happen?”
Micaiah (laughing): “Yeah, I say we just tell our background a little more, I’ll go first. A few years ago, I became leader of The Dawn Brigade. Our objective was to aid the Daein people who were under oppression from the senate. We had found the successor to the Daein throne. At the time, I hated Ike. I figured he was to blame for the current state, but in the end we worked out our differences and he has been a great ally. Long story short, after several battles, I ended up becoming a light mage, and helped free the people. What about you?”
Falco: “Well, despite my crash, I’m actually an ace pilot, honestly I am. I joined up with my friend Fox. Together with some comrades, we were sent to liberate the Lylat System from this evil mastermind named Andross. He’s basically a giant floating head and hands in space…kinda creepy. The battles are personal, because Andross killed Fox’s father. In the end we are a strong team, even though I’ve left several times for various reasons.”
Falco and Micaiah continued to talk for several minutes about their likes and dislikes and came to the conclusion that their meeting was far from coincidence. Micaiah once again kissed falco on the cheek as they picked up their pace to join the others.
Roy: “I can’t wait to get back and have a feast, I’m starving!”
Marth: “I can’t wait to tell my wife all about this.’
Falco: “WOAH, hold everything. You have a wife? What’s his name, Victor or Steve?”
Marth: “You guys just won’t give up on this will you? Hey, there’s the castle now!”
The entire army began to pick up the pace as they closed in on the gate which was lowering for them. The castle occupants greeted them with cheers as large numbers were returning home from the battlefield. The peasants bowed before the lords as they passed by. Several strange glances were sent towards Falco as he was still holding Micaiah’s hand. The large stairway ahead of them lead to the throne room, but standing at the top of the steps was an all too familiar face for Micaiah and Ike.
Ike: “Hey Micaiah, look who’s here.”
Micaiah looked up to see a young man with green hair holding a large knife. Sothe met her eyes with a smile then seeing her company began to lower his eyebrows taking in this creature.
Falco: “Who’s that?”
Micaiah: “His name is Sothe; he used to be a thief but changed his ways. We first met as small children and he has been my best friend ever since. We’re so close that he’s basically a brother to me, but he tends to take his ‘brotherly duties’ a little far sometimes. I can already tell by the look on his face that he doesn’t like you.”
Falco: “So judging me before he gets to know me….yeah I bet I’m gonna have the same feelings about him.”
Micaiah: “Try to be nice to him. Give him a chance; he’s just protective over me.”
Grasping hold harder, Micaiah led Falco on up the stiars. The others were already at the top.
Sothe: “Welcome home friends. Glad to see you all made it back alive.”
Roy: “Nice seeing you too, Sothe.”
Sothe: “Micaiah, as always it’s a pleasure to see you. Who’s the turkey?”
Falco: “TURKEY?!?!”
Micaiah: “Now just stop it Sothe. I can already tell what you’re thinking, and there’s no need. This is Falco. He crash landed here when his ship was attacked. He’s helped us defeat the Black Knight, and there’s no need for you to protect me against him.”
Sothe: “Can I talk with you alone?”
Micaiah: “No, whatever you have to say can be said right in front of Falco and everyone else here.”
Sothe: “OK, well I, for one, can’t help but realize you’re holding his….hand…er...wing...whatever that is. Has all that time of being with Yune in her bird form made you feel some attraction to birds?”
Falco: “Hey I’m not just some bird, buddy. I’ve about heard enough!”
Sothe: “Well, then what exactly are you? What makes you think you’re so perfect for Micaiah? Why not someone her own specie perhaps?”
Falco: “What am i? I’m the Star Pilot of Team Star Fox. My duty is to protect the galaxy with the aid of my flying space craft, the Arwing. I know I’m not perfect, but she doesn’t seem to care. Why should you?”
Sothe: “I care because I’ve been with her since we were little. I’ve helped protect her when she was in danger. You said you were a Star Pilot huh? So I’m guessing that’s your ship out there junked up and useless? Some star pilot, you have to crash through a wall to land that thing.”
Falco: “Up yours, buddy! For your information, dumbass, I and my teammates were attacked by a super powerful being in space. His attacks sent our ships flying in separate directions and mine crashed here. And some protector you seem to be. There were hundreds of archers out there and where were you? I ended up saving her from the arrows. Glad to see you’re around being the great protector you are.”
Sothe: “I had other duties, but that’s beside the point.”
Falco: “Yeah, other duties, like stealing pocket change from peasants? Once a thief always a thief in my book.”
Sothe (Raising his knife): “How dare you!”
Falco (pulling out his blaster): “Don’t try me.”
Both Sothe and Falco began to run at each other with full determination of an all out battle. Their fury heightened as they drew closer, but right as they were about to clash, a light barrier appeared between them. Each one was contained within their own bubble. They began to look around at the source and found the Micaiah had placed a spell around them. She walked calmly over to them and began to speak.
Micaiah: “Both of you cut it out! Falco, there’s no need for all of this so could you please put your weapons away? Sothe, I know you mean well, but you’re doing nothing but being a jerk. I’ll be honest right now and tell you something I’d held secret for some time. At one point I had feelings for you, I thought I loved you, but seeing you like this made me realize I had made the right choice. Yes you both were being rash, but Falco was reacting out of provocation. You were just tossing out insults for no reason.”
Marth: “You go girl!”
Ike: “OK, seriously? Tell me that didn’t just come out of your mouth. I’ve been giving you slack about this whole feminine thing, but after that comment, you’re on your own!”
Falco nodded his head and placed his blasters back in their holster as he walked near to Micaiah. Sothe lowered his knife and his head in defeat. Micaiah lifted the barrier between them and grabbed Falco’s arm as they walked on into a nearby hallway. Roy, Marth and Ike followed quickly, but Lyn stayed behind to speak with Sothe.
Lyn: “Sorry about all that, would you mind telling me what your deal was?”
Sothe: “I guess it doesn’t matter now, but…I had fallen in love with her awhile back, but did not know if she felt the same. After awhile I started to sense that she, in fact, did feel something towards me. Unfortunately I’ve been gone for the past couple of months as you well know trying to help our allies in the far East. I realized out there, that I couldn’t be happy unless she was with me, and…well….i came here to ask her hand in marriage. And then I find her with this bird. I just couldn’t stand it. If I could take it back I would.”
Before Lyn could respond, a solder rushed up the stair towards them.
Soldier; “M’Lady, M’Lady, where is Prince Marth?”
Lyn: “He went down that hallway, why?”
Soldier: “Yet another ship from the stars is approaching. This one does not seem out of control. It is orange and slightly circular.”
Sothe: “Quick, let’s go tell the others.”

The Town Square of Hyrule was desolate. Re-dead walked around where there had once been a great Market. Link had just awoken the last of the Sages, the Sage of Light, and was transported to the Temple of Time where Sheik had revealed her true identity. She was Princess Zelda. As soon as the princess had revealed herself, she was taken captive by the evil Ganondorf and transported to his Castle. His castle lay to the north of the Temple of Time in the Ruins of the old Hylian Castle.
Link took a deep breath before bursting from the Temple. Slashing Re-dead along the way he came to the path of Ganondorf’s Castle. Me marched on and saw the castle floating above a pit of lava. There was no drawbridge, no visible way of entering. As he stepped closer and closer to the lava, he heard the voice of the Sage of Time. The seven sages used their power to create a rainbow path to the doorway. Link began to walk up the pathway, but remembered something else. He ran over towards a side wall where there was a small crack. Lighting a bomb, the crack exploded to reveal a cave. Within the cave lay a small fountain with exactly what he was hoping for. The fountain was buzzing with fairies. Reacting quickly, he pulled out all four of his glass jars and entrapped one fairy within each. One of these fairies could completely revive anyone who had fallen in battle. After collecting his fairies he marched up the entryway and on into the castle.
Once inside the castle, Link noticed eight doors. Seven of which were unlocked, but the eighth was sealed by magic. It didn’t take a genius to realize this door held Zelda behind it. One by one, Link went through the various doors and completed the challenges. With each door complete, part of the magical barrier was removed. After beating the last challenge, the doorway was cleared and he burst through the door and on up the stairs. The stairway was long and circular. It was dead silence. Link came to the doorway at the top and burst through. Zelda was floating in suspended animation as the last time Link had saw her, but Ganondorf was nowhere near. The room was empty except for an organ, but no one played. It was bad enough for Ganondorf to be there, but his absence left an even more ominous feeling. Link began to panic somewhat. Suddenly the door slammed behind him. He turned around with the Master Sword held high, but did not see Ganondorf. Instead, a small figure in a black cloak stood before him.
Hooded figure: “Hello Link, it’s nice to meet this incarnation of you.”
Link: “Who are you? Where is Ganondorf?”
Link lowered the Master Sword as the hooded figure reached for its hood. It pushed back the hood to reveal her identity. It was a woman with long brown hair, slightly pointed ears, and a tiara.
Zelda: “My name is Princess Zelda, I am the princess of Hyrule.”
Link: “No, that’s Zelda up there.”
Zelda: “Yes, that’s this region’s Zelda, but I am the same incarnation of her from another part of Hyrule, the Twilight Region Hyrule, that up until now you never knew of. But I’m not going to waste my breath now, I want to tell the both of you.”
Zelda threw aside her cloak and puller her bow up. She aimed a light arrow at the other Zelda in Captivity. The spell broke as she tumbled to the ground. Just before landing, Link had run over to catch her. He placed her on her feet as both walked over to the new Zelda.
Twilight Zelda: Well well, so you’re me in this region. Not bad indeed. I love your hair.”
Zelda: “Why thank you.”
Link: “Ok I’m not gonna stand here and listen about hair. You never answered my question. Where is Ganondorf?”
Twilight Zelda: “Sorry of course, I do not know where Ganondorf is, but I fear the worst. Our Ganondorf has been missing as well. Either they are behind this or they are victims as well.”
The brown-haired Zelda could see the obvious confusion on their faces and explained about the destruction of the barriers withing the regions. About how strange creatures were appearing across the lands, and of Midna going to the Great Sea.
Zelda: “So, in other words. There are multiple Links, Zelda’s and Ganondorfs? You and me are in all reality the same person just different looks?”
Twilight Zelda: “Precisely! We need to meet together with the other leaders of the regions, and discuss the future of Hyrule. You all will be needed.”
Link: “Sounds fair enough. I really want to know what happened to Ganondorf. After kidnapping her, I want to do him in myself. After all that trouble I was put through I don’t even get to fight him? Come ON!!”
Twilight Zelda: “Glad to hear it. We must travel northwest into my region of Hyrule. It will be completely different from this one let me assure you. I’m just glad it isn’t too far of a walk.”
Together both Zeldas and Link traveled northwest to the Twilit Hyrule. Unaware of the being floating above their planet

High above Hyrule, Zankor floated observing everything. He delayed his revenge on Hyrule out of interest. He noticed three groups heading towards the same point, the last ganondorf and his party, the great ship, and the pair of zeldas with link. Zankor thought to himself that he would allow them to meet together before destroying them. Giving victims false hope brought a smile to his face. He thrashed his tail around a few times at the thought of battle.
Suddenly he heard the sound of something coming fast, he turned his head to see Geno flying full speed towards him. Geno stopped before reaching Zankor and was surprised to see his calm demeanor.
Geno: “Master, I sensed your anger, but I find you here calm. What has happened?”
Zankor: “Nothing of interest dear Geno. I see you have acquired a new weapon.”
Geno: “Yes, I have killed the penguin who originally betrayed my trust. His hammer will do me well.”
Zankor: “Indeed it shall.”
Geno: “Master, shall we fly down and fight together?”
Zankor: “No, they seem to be rallying together. Let’s allow them some small hope before we crush them completely.”
Geno: “Brilliance master, sheer brilliance. We may have more toys to play with by that time. I destroyed the Mushroom Kingdom, but its heroes escaped. They will probably follow my energy reading here.”
Zankor: “Well done, Geno. The more corpses that litter this world, the better.”

Falco: “What am i? I’m the Star Pilot of Team Star Fox. My duty is to protect the galaxy with the aid of my flying space craft, the Arwing. I know I’m not perfect, but she doesn’t seem to care. Why should you?”
Sothe: “I care because I’ve been with her since we were little. I’ve helped protect her when she was in danger. You said you were a Star Pilot huh? So I’m guessing that’s your ship out there junked up and useless? Some star pilot, you have to crash through a wall to land that thing.”
Falco: “Up yours, buddy! For your information, dumbass, I and my teammates were attacked by a super powerful being in space. His attacks sent our ships flying in separate directions and mine crashed here. And some protector you seem to be. There were hundreds of archers out there and where were you? I ended up saving her from the arrows. Glad to see you’re around being the great protector you are.”
Sothe: “I had other duties, but that’s beside the point.”
Falco: “Yeah, other duties, like stealing pocket change from peasants? Once a thief always a thief in my book.”
Sothe (Raising his knife): “How dare you!”
Falco (pulling out his blaster): “Don’t try me.”
Both Sothe and Falco began to run at each other with full determination of an all out battle. Their fury heightened as they drew closer, but right as they were about to clash, a light barrier appeared between them. Each one was contained within their own bubble. They began to look around at the source and found the Micaiah had placed a spell around them. She walked calmly over to them and began to speak.
Micaiah: “Both of you cut it out! Falco, there’s no need for all of this so could you please put your weapons away? Sothe, I know you mean well, but you’re doing nothing but being a jerk. I’ll be honest right now and tell you something I’d held secret for some time. At one point I had feelings for you, I thought I loved you, but seeing you like this made me realize I had made the right choice. Yes you both were being rash, but Falco was reacting out of provocation. You were just tossing out insults for no reason.”
Marth: “You go girl!”
Ike: “OK, seriously? Tell me that didn’t just come out of your mouth. I’ve been giving you slack about this whole feminine thing, but after that comment, you’re on your own!”
Falco nodded his head and placed his blasters back in their holster as he walked near to Micaiah. Sothe lowered his knife and his head in defeat. Micaiah lifted the barrier between them and grabbed Falco’s arm as they walked on into a nearby hallway. Roy, Marth and Ike followed quickly, but Lyn stayed behind to speak with Sothe.
Lyn: “Sorry about all that, would you mind telling me what your deal was?”
Sothe: “I guess it doesn’t matter now, but…I had fallen in love with her awhile back, but did not know if she felt the same. After awhile I started to sense that she, in fact, did feel something towards me. Unfortunately I’ve been gone for the past couple of months as you well know trying to help our allies in the far East. I realized out there, that I couldn’t be happy unless she was with me, and…well….i came here to ask her hand in marriage. And then I find her with this bird. I just couldn’t stand it. If I could take it back I would.”
Before Lyn could respond, a solder rushed up the stair towards them.
Soldier; “M’Lady, M’Lady, where is Prince Marth?”
Lyn: “He went down that hallway, why?”
Soldier: “Yet another ship from the stars is approaching. This one does not seem out of control. It is orange and slightly circular.”
Sothe: “Quick, let’s go tell the others.”

The Town Square of Hyrule was desolate. Re-dead walked around where there had once been a great Market. Link had just awoken the last of the Sages, the Sage of Light, and was transported to the Temple of Time where Sheik had revealed her true identity. She was Princess Zelda. As soon as the princess had revealed herself, she was taken captive by the evil Ganondorf and transported to his Castle. His castle lay to the north of the Temple of Time in the Ruins of the old Hylian Castle.
Link took a deep breath before bursting from the Temple. Slashing Re-dead along the way he came to the path of Ganondorf’s Castle. Me marched on and saw the castle floating above a pit of lava. There was no drawbridge, no visible way of entering. As he stepped closer and closer to the lava, he heard the voice of the Sage of Time. The seven sages used their power to create a rainbow path to the doorway. Link began to walk up the pathway, but remembered something else. He ran over towards a side wall where there was a small crack. Lighting a bomb, the crack exploded to reveal a cave. Within the cave lay a small fountain with exactly what he was hoping for. The fountain was buzzing with fairies. Reacting quickly, he pulled out all four of his glass jars and entrapped one fairy within each. One of these fairies could completely revive anyone who had fallen in battle. After collecting his fairies he marched up the entryway and on into the castle.
Once inside the castle, Link noticed eight doors. Seven of which were unlocked, but the eighth was sealed by magic. It didn’t take a genius to realize this door held Zelda behind it. One by one, Link went through the various doors and completed the challenges. With each door complete, part of the magical barrier was removed. After beating the last challenge, the doorway was cleared and he burst through the door and on up the stairs. The stairway was long and circular. It was dead silence. Link came to the doorway at the top and burst through. Zelda was floating in suspended animation as the last time Link had saw her, but Ganondorf was nowhere near. The room was empty except for an organ, but no one played. It was bad enough for Ganondorf to be there, but his absence left an even more ominous feeling. Link began to panic somewhat. Suddenly the door slammed behind him. He turned around with the Master Sword held high, but did not see Ganondorf. Instead, a small figure in a black cloak stood before him.
Hooded figure: “Hello Link, it’s nice to meet this incarnation of you.”
Link: “Who are you? Where is Ganondorf?”
Link lowered the Master Sword as the hooded figure reached for its hood. It pushed back the hood to reveal her identity. It was a woman with long brown hair, slightly pointed ears, and a tiara.
Zelda: “My name is Princess Zelda, I am the princess of Hyrule.”
Link: “No, that’s Zelda up there.”
Zelda: “Yes, that’s this region’s Zelda, but I am the same incarnation of her from another part of Hyrule, the Twilight Region Hyrule, that up until now you never knew of. But I’m not going to waste my breath now, I want to tell the both of you.”
Zelda threw aside her cloak and puller her bow up. She aimed a light arrow at the other Zelda in Captivity. The spell broke as she tumbled to the ground. Just before landing, Link had run over to catch her. He placed her on her feet as both walked over to the new Zelda.
Twilight Zelda: Well well, so you’re me in this region. Not bad indeed. I love your hair.”
Zelda: “Why thank you.”
Link: “Ok I’m not gonna stand here and listen about hair. You never answered my question. Where is Ganondorf?”
Twilight Zelda: “Sorry of course, I do not know where Ganondorf is, but I fear the worst. Our Ganondorf has been missing as well. Either they are behind this or they are victims as well.”
The brown-haired Zelda could see the obvious confusion on their faces and explained about the destruction of the barriers withing the regions. About how strange creatures were appearing across the lands, and of Midna going to the Great Sea.
Zelda: “So, in other words. There are multiple Links, Zelda’s and Ganondorfs? You and me are in all reality the same person just different looks?”
Twilight Zelda: “Precisely! We need to meet together with the other leaders of the regions, and discuss the future of Hyrule. You all will be needed.”
Link: “Sounds fair enough. I really want to know what happened to Ganondorf. After kidnapping her, I want to do him in myself. After all that trouble I was put through I don’t even get to fight him? Come ON!!”
Twilight Zelda: “Glad to hear it. We must travel northwest into my region of Hyrule. It will be completely different from this one let me assure you. I’m just glad it isn’t too far of a walk.”
Together both Zeldas and Link traveled northwest to the Twilit Hyrule. Unaware of the being floating above their planet

High above Hyrule, Zankor floated observing everything. He delayed his revenge on Hyrule out of interest. He noticed three groups heading towards the same point, the last ganondorf and his party, the great ship, and the pair of zeldas with link. Zankor thought to himself that he would allow them to meet together before destroying them. Giving victims false hope brought a smile to his face. He thrashed his tail around a few times at the thought of battle.
Suddenly he heard the sound of something coming fast, he turned his head to see Geno flying full speed towards him. Geno stopped before reaching Zankor and was surprised to see his calm demeanor.
Geno: “Master, I sensed your anger, but I find you here calm. What has happened?”
Zankor: “Nothing of interest dear Geno. I see you have acquired a new weapon.”
Geno: “Yes, I have killed the penguin who originally betrayed my trust. His hammer will do me well.”
Zankor: “Indeed it shall.”
Geno: “Master, shall we fly down and fight together?”
Zankor: “No, they seem to be rallying together. Let’s allow them some small hope before we crush them completely.”
Geno: “Brilliance master, sheer brilliance. We may have more toys to play with by that time. I destroyed the Mushroom Kingdom, but its heroes escaped. They will probably follow my energy reading here.”
Zankor: “Well done, Geno. The more corpses that litter this world, the better.”
