Chapter 10: Mischief of the Wario Bros.
Bowser stood laughing in Mario’s Quarters as the realization of his dream was unfolding before him. He didn’t necessarily want to reveal the plan, but if telling them would get him what he wanted, then it would be worth it. Mario didn’t need to know the whole plan, did he?
Luigi: “So, you will tell us what you’re doing with those turnips if we give you something?”
Kamek: “Precisely. Just give us what we want and we’ll tell you what you want to know.”
Peach: “Mario, how can you be sure we can trust them this time?”
Mario: We can’t…but it’s the only lead we have. Bowser, what exactly do you want?”
Bowser: “Well, we want that liquid that was poured over….OUCH”
Bowser Jr. had hit his father in the stomach with the end of his paintbrush. Jr. motioned for the three of them to huddle together. Kamek and Bowser did so.
Bowser Jr.: “Dad, what exactly do you think you are doing?”
Bowser: “Didn’t you see how powerful that stuff is? That toad jumped straight up perfectly cured.”
Kamek: “Master, that wasn’t part of the plan. Remember we want those metal boxes…or had you forgotten?”
Bowser: “I know, I know, but this stuff looks better.”
Bowser Jr.: “Have you lost your mind, Dad?
Kamek: “Master, I too feel that you’ve lost sight of the goal. Remember the armor.”
Bowser: “Perhaps we can get both of them.”
Bowser looked over at the Mario Bros, Peach, Toad, and E. Gadd who were whispering amongst themselves. He stood up straight and faced the crowd determined on his goal.
Bowser: “We want two things. First we want that liquid that was poured over that toad.”
Mario: “Why do you want…”
Bowser: “DON’T INTERRUPT ME! We also require your entire stock of metal boxes.”
Luigi: “Why would you need any of that stuff?”
Bowser Jr.: “Our reasons are our own. Don’t butt in or the deal is off.”
Peach : “Mario…I’m not sure this is a good idea”
Mario: “Peach, It’s the only way we can get some answers about these turnips…I don’t necessarily like it either, but it’s what we have to do. Professor….toss them the healing potion.”
The Professor walked over to Bowser with the bottle in his hand. Kamek swooped in on his broom and took the potion from E. Gadd and handed it to Bowser. Bowser laughed menacingly as he placed it in his shell.
Bowser: “The metal boxes?”
Mario: “sigh…..They are in the dungeons. Follow us down there and you can have as much as you want.
Sudenly a loud explosion rang through the castle. As the ground shook, everyone fell onto the floor. Looking scared, peach cried out for Mario. Mario stood up and began to look around him to find nothing. Suddenly a toad appeared through the door.
Toad: “Mario, come quick to the dungeons…the explosion was a bobomb.”
Mario: “Oh no…the storage room. Everyone to the dungeons quick!

King K. Rool laughed as Krystal stood with her staff beside Diddy Kong. This new addition had seemed to stable Diddy’s hands as he pointed his Peanut Poppers towards K. Rool.
K. Rool: “You honestly think you can beat me? Then take this!”
He fired up his jetpack and flew through the celing of the boat. He shot a spiked cannonball out of his musket at them. Diddy and Krystal scattered as it crashed down where they were standing. Krystal shot a blast out the hole at K. Rool, but her attack missed. K. Rool Crashed down through the ceiling again and shot a regular cannonball out of his musket. It barely missed Diddy but sent Krystal crashing through the outside wall of the ship. She landed against a tree in the jungle. She needed to react fast, or her monkey companion would be defeated. She glanced around the surrounding area for anything to help her, and saw a crate shaking in the distance. Unsure of what was in the box, she took a chance and smashed it open to reveal a rhinoceros. Krystal thought that if she could talk to Dinosaurs, a rhinoceros shouldn’t be that much of a challenge.
Krystal: “Can you understand what I’m saying?”
The Rhino nodded his head, and turned to face her.
Krystal: “Excellent, Can I get a ride on you back to that boat? If we don’t get there quickly, Diddy is going to be destroyed.”
The rhino once again nodded as Krystal jumped on his back. As they sped towards the ship, Krystal began to worry about her new monkey companion.
K. Rool: “Well well, little monkey. We are once again in the same situation. Just you and me…give me your best shot.”
K. Rool began to run at Diddy who was once again shaky. As K. Rool approached, Diddy jumped into the air and grabbed hold of a loose rope and began to swing towards K. Rool. Before he could see what was happening, Diddy had kicked K. Rool in the face. K. Rool crumpled to the floor as Diddy jumped down and shot two blasts from his peanut poppers. They too hit their target as K. Rool was sent across the room. K.Rool stood up in anger and shot another spiked ball from his musket. Diddy tried to jump out of the way, but was caught by the spikes. It slammed him into the wall of the ship and pinned him there. Diddy began to shoot with his peanut poppers, but K. Rool rolled past his shots and slapped the guns out of his hand.
K. Rool: “Looks like I’m the winner here. I finally captured you monkeys. First I’ll put you in another cage like your little friends, then I’ll destroy all of you once and for all.”
As K. Rool spoke, he took out a set of keys and began to shake them in front of Diddy. Suddenly, the door burst off it’s hinges. Diddy and K. Rool turned to see Krystal riding in on a rhinoceros. Krystal shot magic first at the keys in K. Rool’s grasp sending them flying to the corner, she then shot him with a magical explosion which sent him flying through a wall. She dismounted form the rhino and blasted the spiked ball from Diddy. He jumped down and grapped his peanut poppers.
Krystal “ Diddy, go get those keys and release your friends, I can hold him off till you do.”
Diddy nodded his head, ran to the keys and ran into the next room. As Krystal watched him run away, she was taken by surprise. K. Rool had run into the room and grabbed ahold of her. He threw her upwards and through the ceiling of the ship. She landed on the top of the ship. She stood up as she saw K. Rool shoot upwards through the hole she had just made. He was once again holding his musket. He fired another shot at her which she deflected. Quickly, he fired two more cannonballs. Krystal deflected the first one, but was struck by the second. As she flew backwards, she lost grip on her staff. As is slid away from her, K. Rool walked over with his musket pointed at her. His finger began to shake as he started to pull the trigger. Before he could shoot, Donkey Kong burst through the ceiling and slammed his fists on K. Rool’s head. K. Rool dropped his musket and fell over unconscious
Krystal: “Thanks for that.”
Donkey: “No problem. Thanks for helping out Diddy. Diddy, Dixie, tie him up. We have some things to discuss with this crocodile, and this newcomer.”
The two monkeys tied up K. Rool and shoved him through one of the holes in the ceiling. They all stood around waiting for K. Rool to awaken.
Donkey: “Thanks again for saving us. You really helped us out back there. I know Diddy is strong, but I don’t think he could have gotten out of that situation.”
Krystal: “Don’t worry about it. I just saw someone in need and helped out.”
Dixie: “Well if you hadn’t have jumped in, he probably would have destroyed us.”
Diddy: “What’s your name?”
Krystal: “My name is Krystal. I’m part of the Star Fox Team that flies around the galazy.”
Donkey: “AH you’re part of Fox’s team. We’ve met several times on Smash Planet.”
Krystal: “Yeah, he told me about you, Donkey Kong, but he never mentioned Diddy or Dixie.”
Dixie: “Smash Planet? How come I’ve never heard about this?”
Donkey: “Don’t worry about it Dixie. It’s just a planet that several of us go to for fighting competitions. It’s a strange world, but it’s nothing to concern you.”
Diddy: “I hate to change the subject, but, if you’re on Fox’s team, why are you here?”
Krystal: “Oh well….my ship crash landed here.”
The group of monkeys began to look concerned. Krystal began the long explanation of meeting the destroyer, ridley and geno. She also discussed the battle, and her crash land in Jungle Japes as well as the crocodile attacks. Donkey, Diddy, and Dixie Kong were all thinking deeply.
Donkey: “Is there anything we can do to help?”
Krystal: “Not unless you have a spaceship to get me out of here to help Fox. I don’t know where any of my team are. I don’t even know if they are alive.”
Diddy: “Hey DK, Don’t ships run kinda like rockets? Cause Funky made that rocket barrel for me, and K. Rool has a jetpack. If he could do that, he could probably do a bigger one.”
Dixie: “Cranky Kong could help too with all his science.”
Donkey: “That would take forever. We would need an enormous ship with big rockets on it. Where would we find all that material? With only the five of us, it would take months.
Krystal: “Well….we are standing in a large ship.”
Diddy: “Yeah…and K. Rool has a lot of crocs at his command to do work.”
Donkey began to think. The idea of teaming up with K. Rool would be ridiculous, but doing so would short then time significantly, it would save them from destroying a lot of trees, and if they could go help, perhaps this Destroyer would be stopped before they made it to their planet.
Donkey: “Diddy, go get some water and splash it on K. Rool. We need him awake.”
Diddy did as he was told. Upon receiving a splash of water, K. Rool awoke. He angrily swore when he found out he was bound.
Donkey: “Ok shut up and listen. We have a proposition for you.”

Mario and company were running through the hallways of Peach Castle to get to the dungeons. Bowser was having a difficult time keeping up.
Bowser: “How……much…….further…….is……it. I’m…..gonna……die”
Luigi: “Perhaps if you lost some weight it wouldn’t be so difficult for you.”
Bowser: “You……piece…..of….”
Bowser Jr. “Dad, just slide on the ground on your shell…DUH”
Bowser ducked into his shell and began to slide along beside them. They ran down a long hallway. Mario stopped at the end and swung open the door. They began to run down the spiral stairway. As they descended the stairs, dust was floating through the air. Obviously the perpetrators were in the storage room.
Mario: “You didn’t have anything to do with this did you Kamek?”
Kamek: “No, our forces were concerned on finding you and Luigi. This is someone else.”
Mario: “I wonder who it could be.”
As they reached the bottom of the stairs, one of the doors was hanging by one hinge. The group entered the large storage room to find several boxes missing. There was a large hole blasted in the wall. They searched around to find that several boxes of food were missing as well as the entire supply of metal boxes.
Peach: “I find it hard to believe that you didn’t have anything to do with this Bowser. You wanted Metal Boxes, and that’s what’s mostly missing.”
Bowser: “We had nothing to do with this. Would I have stuck around this place if I had planned this all along?”
Mario: “That’s true…but who could have taken all of these, and why?”
Suddenly they heard voices come from outside.
Voice: “Lets-a look for some more food. I’m-a starving.”
Voice2: I don’t think they’ll have much garlic here.”
Mario thought these voices were familiar, but stood staring at the hole. As the voices grew louder, Everyone in the storage room drew closer to the hole. Suddenly, Wario and Waluigi appeared in the hole.
Wario: “It’s-a good thing we got those metal boxes now we can WAAAAAAAAAA”
Wario had notices the crowd standing in the storage room. He began to develop an uncomfortable feeling in his stomach, but he ignored it.
Luigi: “So, you blew up the castle and took the metal boxes.”
Waluigi: “Of course we did, it’s our specialty. Now if you’ll excuse us, we have business to attend to.
Mario: “Stop right there. We need those metal boxes.”
Wario: “You want them? You’ll have to come and ………..come and get them.”
The feeling in his stomach was increasing.
Bowser: “You heard what he said GET THEM!”
The group began to run towards the hole, but before any of the reached the Wairo Bros, Waluigi pulled out two bobombs, lit them and threw them into the storage room. Mario’s company began to back away from them, choosing not to get near the bobombs. Then it hit. Wario knew what the uncomfortable feeling was in his stomach. He walked over with his backside to the room.
Wario: “Here I go!!!”
Wario let loose his deadly fumes, but with surprisingly dangerous consequences. The flames on the bobombs caught the waft and exploded the air around them as well as the bobombs. This completely destroyed the Storage shed and sent Wario and Waluigi flying through the sky.
After the debris cleared, Mario stood up and looked toward the area that the Wario Bros flew.
Bowser: “I hope you know, that this doesn’t change our agreement….i still want those metal boxes.”
Mario: “Oh come ON! Be reasonable.”
Kamek: “No metal boxes, no deal plumber!”
Peach: “Well, we’ll just have to go to the Wario Bros house and get them back.”
Mario: “That’s just what I was afraid of.
