Chapter 10:the aftermath
Falco stared out the window of his window seat on the
helicopter.He could hardly believe the decision he had made.
To serve the Smash nation through thick and thin was the oath
he had taken when he joined the S.B.I.Was what he had done
a betrayal of that oath?If it was it was too late now.He had as
sisted criminals,so now he had been branded one himself.
Toadett walked over to Falco in an attempt to cheer him
up.She was a little scared of her new ally,as just an hour ago
he had been trying to kill her and her comrades,but in thier hour
of need he had helped them.
"Hi mister bird"asked Toadett"what's your name?"She sat
down beside him awaiting an answer.
"Falco Lombardi"said the troubled Falcon"What are you and
your friends names?I only knew Mario's and he's no longer with
us."
Toadett paused a moment.It was at the mention of Mario's
name that the reality of his death crashed down upon her.
"That's Mr.Toadsworth,my grandpa"said the somber girl"
and that's Toad my brother.Luigi,Mario's brother,is in the medical
room.I'm Toadett."
"ahh."said Falco"nice to know the names of my allies."Falco sa
w the melancholy look on Toadett's face and tried to lift the
cloud of sadness"
"Doesn't your grandfather need help over there?"He poin
ted to Toadsworth,in an attempt to distract her from her sadness.

Fox awoke with a start ,sweating like a pig.He was in a
stretcher,with Wario and Ness at his bedside.
"W-Why am I here?"asked the bewildered Fox.He had no
recollection of the battle beforehand.
"You passed out from blood loss."said Ness concernedly.
"You're not gonna be able to fight for awhile "said Wario"You
can thank that filthy traitor Falco for that"
Ness opened his mouth to object to Wario's lie but Wario
elbowed him hard in the stomach,signaling him to shut up.
"I've got a plan"whispered Wario to the bewildered Ness..
Fox froze,shocked by this new information.Falco had betrayed the
S.B.I.?Worse yet,Falco had hurt him and his teammates?
" We'll leave you alone to rest now"said Ness,as he and
Wario exited the room.
