chapter 9:Betrayal and alliance
Snake lay unconcious on the grassy lawn of mushroom m
all,where an all out brawl was taking place.Fox,who had taken a
blow from the relentless Mario,held his bleeding shoulder,trying to
stop the blood flow.Wario prepared to take down the mustachio
ed menace with a well aimed blast from his Vectorman handcann
on.Falco assissted him as Shiah went after the pair of toads atte
mpting to blast her team with shotguns.
The sound of a gunnshot rang in the air as a bullet headed
straight for Shiah's heart.To the surprise of onlookers,Shiah wac
ked the bullet aside.To a normal being,this was impossible.But
Shiah was no normal being.She had trained on Icicle mt. with
the master of martial arts, Ryu hayabusa.And she didn't let her
training go to waste.
Mario had dodged all of Wario's shots thus far,but The yellow
clad plumber wasn't about to give up.He was knocked back with
the force of his next shot.
Mario was hit.Time seemed to slow down to him as he felt him
self lose consciousness.He thought about all the good times he h
ad had in his life.He thought of his brother,and of his toad friends.
But most of all he thought of Peach.
"At last"he thought to himself"I'll finally get to see her again."
Mario then lay peacefully as the life left his body.
"Mario no!"yelled Luigi . He ran through the rain of bullets
and lasers over to his brother's corpse.
He was stunned by the suddenness of his brother's demise.
Then he realized something.He was the hero now.He could grieve
later,but right now,the toads needed him.It was what Mario
would've wanted.
Wario stood over Luigi.A normal agent would've simply killed
the mafioso right then and there,but Wario wanted to gloat.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!What a joke your precious Mario
was!HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!"snorted Wario.
Luigi balled up his fists.This would not stand!To not only kill
his brother but too dishonor him as well!?
Luigi's fist collided with the stomach of the fattest plumber.
Wario coughed,then fell tothe floor unconcious.
"Take this!"yelled Falco as he sprinted toward the plumbers.
His foot struck Luigi hard in the face.Luigi struggled to his feet.
To his astonishment,he found it extremely hard to stand dp.
Luigi collapsed on the ground ,unable to move.He silently swore
that if he survived,he would never fail like this again.
Falco spun around and saw that Shiah had successfully
disarmed Toad and Toadsworth.
Snake,now conscious,picked up his hand gun.
"What should we do with those three?"he said,pointing to
Toad,Toadett,Toadsworth,and the passed out luigi.
"Let's check the handbook."said Ness tossing the
S.B.I handbook to Snake.
The S.B.I handbook contained all the laws and regulation
s of the S.B.I.At least one member of all teams was required to
carry a copy,and it governed many decisions made.
"Lets see" said Snake,flipping to the correct page"It says
We've got too kill them.They resisted arrest."
Falco was bothered by this decision."can't we just capture
them?I mean,they surrendered!"said Falco as he watched Toad
somberly wave a surrender flag.
"rules are rules."said Snake as he pulled out handgun
"say goodbye ,criminal scum!"
Falco knocked the gun out of Snake's hand.He could not
abide by That rule.It was against his nature.
"I can't stay with an organization that will kill people who'
ve given up the will to fight."said Falco"I'm leaving the S.B.I"
Before his teammates could respond,Falco picked up
Luigi and led the toads out of the room and into the S.B.I's
helicopter.He knew he would go down in history as a traitor
who stole from the S.B.I,but he couldn't let the Toads and Luigi
die.
"Goodbye comrades"whispered Falco to himself as the group
took off.
