~Nintendo's universe has been plagued with many enemies over the times, but the worst thing they will find is each other.~
Most residents of the Nintendo universe thought they lived in a 'different' world. They thought they were alone. From the Mushroom Kingdom to Mother's Earth, all denizens of each land thought they were alone. Their meetings began when Mario stumbled upon a small island covered in Yoshis. The discover of the island blended their two kingdoms together. It was a mutually beneficial relationship: Yoshis got what they found at the time to be the advanced technology of the Mushroom Kingdom and the kingdom ruled by the princess then known as Princess Toadstool got the pure resources of Yoshi's Island. That was when chaos began to reign in all Nintendo Kingdoms. None knew the cause, nor did they believe that they could fix it. Then things began to change....
Chapter 1: Falling Stars in Hyrule
Hyrule's troubles began oddly. Horses and boars alike began to disobey their riders. Money began appearing in the grass in much larger quantities, making lucky finders of large rupees such as Tingle very happy indeed. This threw their economy into a tailspin as demand for more luxurious items grew farther than supply could meet. During the annual Star Festival, much like the Mushroom Kingdom's, everyone, from the lowliest peasants the generally hermit-like king of Hyrule, flocked to see the beautiful stars burning as they entered the Hylian atmosphere. This time, however, one star did not burn up. This, in the end, was only beneficial to one Hylian. Kirby, fortunately, bailed off the Warpstar before it crash-landed, but important Hyrulians, such as Link and Princess Zelda, watched his dismount. This proved to be extremely unfortunate for Kirby when he was promptly arrested by guards for the murder of the king of Hyrule.
Chapter 2: Space Invaders
Earth was safe. Ness knew he had saved it. He took a little bit of satisfaction in that. That being said, he worried that it would be disturbed again. As he sat on his bed in his small town, he pondered what he would do if Earth was attacked. He decided that someone else could save Earth the next time. That was when, to the child's dismay, a particularly large alien ship crashed into the nearby forest.
The mayor of Onett held an emergency town meeting. Nobody was surprised when he recruited the pride and joy of Onett, the world's savior, to investigate the possibly hostile ship. On the other hand, everybody was surprised when none other than Pokey Minch volunteered to help. Even though everyone knew his goal in helping Ness was to gain the same amount of fame and power that Ness had, this was a huge leap for the portly child. He normally would have let the incident pass without worrying about it, the lazy child he was. Nevertheless, it seemed as if Pokey was turning over a new leaf. As the unlikely pair entered the woods, Ness fully armed with bay and yo-yo and Pokey holding a useless toy gun, Pokey began to change his mind about following Ness. The trees grew denser and denser until Pokey's fear forced him to bolt out of the woods, leaving Ness alone. Sadly, this was before the duo had walked out of sight of the townsfolk, and younger inhabitants of Onett had more ammunition to ridicule Pokey with.
Ness eventually reached the starship with no resistance from local wildlife. He approached the slightly round orange ship and searched for a door. After searching for a lengthy period of time for a handle, Ness finally realized he needed to push a button of some sort. Preferably one that had the word "Enter" on it. Like the one he had been looking right past for two minutes. Ness pushed on the button and a small platform descended from the ship. The boy tenatively stepped onto the platform. Recognizing weight, the platform rose with Ness on it into the ship. What a sight he saw. A blonde-haired woman in a blue outfit bound to make any game rated T sat in the pilot's chair unconcious. In a glass case to her side was a large robotic suit that matched the ship, but had many cracks inside it. Ness tried to awaken the woman, but failed. That was when he realized her ailment. He had to get her to the hospital. Fast.
Chapter 3: At Which Point the Reader is Pulled Aside
To the Reader:
You may be asking questions at this point. Unfortunately, the timeline in the Nintendo World can be very vague at times. You see, video games are not stories themselves; they are the account of events as they happened. The events in this story take place during and after some famous games. Events from games such as Super Mario World had already occured by this point, but Super Mario 64's kidnapping had not taken place yet. So, to clarify the space-time continuum, here is a list of games in relation to the time.
The events in these games have already taken place:
Super Mario World
Kirby's Adventure
Earthbound
Metroid 2
F-Zero
Star Fox 64
Donkey Kong Country
The events in these games have NOT happened:
Super Mario 64
Earthbound 2
Kirby's Dream Land 2
Metroid Fusion
F-Zero X
Star Fox Adventures
Donkey Kong Country 2
The Legend of Zelda franchise poses a particular nuisance to the author. This story takes place almost immediately following the opening events in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. However, Link had not met the Gorons at this point.
Reader, thank you for listening. If any issues trouble you about the space-time continuum, you are probably in the wrong, but I will attempt to correct the error either way. And now, we return to the story already taking place.
Chapter 4: In Which the Reader is Pushed Back In
This world seemed doomed from the beginning. In ancient times, a Hylian prophetess made the prophecy: "Should three worlds intertwine, all worlds shall end in apocalypse." Unfortunately, nobody knew what she meant, and she was promptly executed.
The first meeting between two worlds was chronicled in the game "Donkey Kong". The blame for this meeting can be placed upon Diddy Kong's grandfather. Cranky Kong, who was still known as Donkey Kong at the time, was accidentally caught in the crossfire of an extremely potent prototype of the Barrel Cannon. Thrown halfway across the world into the Mushroom Kingdom, he fell in love with a fair maiden and, without delay, kidnapped her.
The second meeting between two worlds can be blamed on Bowser. Having kidnapped the princess, he decided to make a venture into unknown territory. This is what set the gears into motion- the prophecy was fulfilled and the Nintendo worlds would never be the same again.
