What I’m pushing for here is simplicity. Simplicity is the key to success in pretty much everything in life, including your average internet forum. Complex systems lead to complex problems with complex, often out of reach, solutions. Ockham's RazorDobs has found the solution! Anything that cannot exist under one of the four aforementioned categories in a single sub-board is either a stupid idea, or will not be trafficked enough to constitute anything larger. I love you. Some areas of this site are just barren and it's cluttering things up just as you said. I'd clean the place up, but people get angry when you suggest that some threads just be deleted, like keeping old threads will bring nostalgia (assuming that more than 2 people actually look back at them). 2) Less Staff. More people generate more useless crap. Keep the few who provide few, good ideas, and chuck the rest. Seriously, fire some people. I've always seen this as a problem but I'm puzzled as to why it's become popular recently. Keeping fewer people as staff is always a good idea. Admins and mods are supposed to be enigmatic rulers of the boards, and with too many it just seems like we are just regular members with colored names 3) Rule Overhaul. One simple set of rules for the forum, and one simple set of rules for the RP will suffice. Stop trying to create laws, covering loopholes and being overly specific. Create simple rules, and let the mods use their own judgment in how to interpret and enforce them. Yes! Less is better! Having less would help in two ways: members might actually read them seeing as how it's not an encyclopedia, and there would be less for mods to sift through in order to confirm the rules. I vote for this

I am inclined to acquiesce to this request. Means yes.

You guys are going to hate me for this comment but I'm going to say this anyway.....
We added more staff because the regular staff is too inactive and/or too lazy to do their jobs on the site. Most of them have been too busy with real life affairs to get anything done and some have even relied on other moderators or staff helpers to get the job done. I never liked that about staff. Like Dobs has said we need a small team of staff and a smaller amount of boards on the site. Before we gave each staff member their own individual color and rank, we kept the mod numbers at 10. 10 mods and two admins. So what do we have now?.. 18 moderators and one admin. A few are simply meh about doing their jobs, a couple of them are temps and now we are down to one admin because quite frankly no one but ghost is really capable of being a good one.
We took a giant step backwards when we added more mods. Adding more staff does not help inactivity, tossing out inactive staff member does. Throw out the people that aren't pulling enough weight and add in someone that can do more. Put friendship aside and all of this "I've been staff here since the site began." Large amounts of time on the site is not suppose to grant you immunity from being kicked out. If you are too busy in real life to get the job done, you don't need to be in staff.
So the moral of this story is.......... Be a good, friendly, active staff member that helps out and gets the job done. If you can't do that? Step down, and give the job to someone that can.

So you are saying we need 10 mods and 2 admins again? There are lots of active peeps here that could take the challenge of being an admin.

Take those numbers as an example... In the past we had 10 mods and 2 admins. That was a good number for that time. What I'm saying is... The staff should be big enough to handle the amount of boards on the site and thats all. Having more than that is just silly. After some board reductions if you only need 6 people for staff, grab six people and stick with that number. If one becomes overly inactive, kick them out and add someone that is more efficient.
As for Admin.. no by far only Peram, Ghost and Dobs seemed to make good admins. Angel could potential be one but she gave up because of her lack of self confidence. Not everyone is cut out to be an admin. Its like being a manager in a business. Someone could be an epic employee but a shitty manager. Activeness plays no part in being a good admin.

I agree. Trust me, I know what it is like to be an admin. XD

Hey, old admin guy.
Shuddup.
1. TWBB probably has less boards because TWBB is a smaller subject than Smash Bros, or I guess Nintendo in general. And in Lloyd's case, that blue hedgehog *grumble*. If you're on TWBB, there's the show to talk about, gaming, and general, that's it. Nintendo is a much larger subject in general and spans more than just a web show ever could. If boards are seriously an issue then BAWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
2. Too late for that now, isn't it?
3. As long as there are asses, there will be rules. As long as there are broken rules, there will be rules to replace them. Repeat.
4. Sure, why not? The thing is you're practically monitoring everything the memebers do. "Here, you can all post in this thread, bwhahaha." While the evil laugh wasn't nessicary, you get the point.

. Angel could potential be one but she gave up because of her lack of self confidence. Actually, I gave it up mostly due to the fact that my life was in the toilet and coming on here and stressing about the fact that I was admin and stress on my relationships was just too much to where I reached the boiling point. My life is better now, thankfully. ^___^ I know it isn't TWBB, and I said that. But its not just how they do things, that's pretty much how it works on every other forum I've ever been on but this. If I may use this against ya for a bit, TWBB is the ONLY forum I've ever seen like that, and I've seen alot of forums myself. O__O I've joined about 30 of them myself.

Then that makes more choices for admins.

Like that second spam board in the masters section. A board only made for increased ones post because they have nothing better to do. 2. Its never too late to change something. Remember that... 3. This is why we need good mods here. Rules are meant to be guidelines for everyone to follow, not set in stone. If someone is being an ass and its making people uncomfortable? get on their case, give them a warning and/or ban them for a bit. This is a little dictatoring but still, if we have trusted mods that wont let their personal vendettas or friendships get in the way of their modding I would trust their decisions. 4. I'm just going to smack you LGN..

Yes but the problem is that some moderators are going to have different defintions of what's right and wrong than others, and some moderators may act different toward certain gestures than others would. If you posted a boobilicious avatar, Kin would like it (that dog), if Lloyd saw it, he would faint. 4. Hand or boobs? I'm hoping the later.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?!? Once again the site's size got cut in half again. I agree with everything else but the whole shrinking. What's wrong with the way the site was before...I will admit there was some useless boards but overall, it was perfect. Now, I must say the site can shrink considerably but the RP can keep expanding..Seems kind of like a double standard to me...Merr what ever I guess..
