(Part II: The Monster is Loose)
Nothing happened at first, but after a while, there was a low rumble. Then, the clouds started to break apart and come together continuously. Lightning began flashing in the air. Thunder rumbled through the skies. Flash! Boom! Within seconds, it grew out of control and incredibly violent, and a lightning bolt struck the ground.
Not too long after this, the clouds started circling around one specific spot, and a large gap could be seen in them, only instead of showing the clear blue sky like it should, something else was seen. It was black, and was swirling, like a wormhole.
Which was exactly what it was.
Through the blackness of the hole, two red, glaring eyes could be seen, and as they came closer to the exit, so could a face. Around its head was a yellow, jagged formation, almost like that of a crown. The monstrous creature made its way out of the wormhole so gradually, taking its precious time with its entrance.
Its long, snake-like body slithered out of the wormhole, its red stripes lighting up, then dimming as if they were neon signs. The red stripes were inside a thicker black stripe, and these wound across the long body. Around its upper neck were yellow ridges, which stuck out and didn’t quite go all the way around.
On its sides were a series of grey spikes with yellow tips, which went all the way down its body until the tail formed. The tail also had a yellow tip, which flicked just as the monster made its full appearance.
On the back of the divine snake were large black strips, with a red spike on the end of each one. There were three on each side of its body.
The giant snake gracefully landed on the ground and gazed over the Smashers, polygons, and henchmen, slowly moving its head from right to left only once before letting out a loud, victorious if you will, roar.
Giratina, the king of the Distortion World, had been awakened.
“BISHYAAAAAAAAAAN!”
Zero was unable to believe what he was seeing.
“This...this is...G...Giratina...!” He said. “Black Shadow!”
The F-Zero pilot approached the hedgehog, and was still holding the Griseous Orb which had been dropped earlier.
“Yes?”
Without a moment’s hesitation, Zero ripped the Orb out of Black Shadow’s hand, not taking his eyes off of Giratina for a second. He held up the Orb to his eye level, and slowly walked towards the ruler of the Distortion World.
“Giratina...I am your master. My name is Zero, and I freed you from your captivity in the Distortion World. You were freed to do my bidding, and that is to merge your world and this world together. Now, go!”
Giratina raised its head and gazed into the wormhole, then light out its famous “BISHYAAAN!” cry, and took to the skies.
Mario suddenly walloped Zero from behind using his hammer. The grey hedgehog fell to the floor and flipped onto his back.
“You...you will not win...” Mario panted.
“You’re pretty persistent for someone who’s met his match,” Zero seethed. “In case you haven’t noticed, my dream has already come to fruition. Can’t you feel it? The merging of the Distortion World and Planet Nintendo has already begun. The air is different. The clouds are different. Soon, everything will be completely changed. And I will rule over it all; not as a king, but as a God. It ends tonight.”
“I know it does, Zero. That’s why everyone else is just going to enjoy the show, as we already know that I’m the one that beats you,” Mario replied with confidence. “Now let’s finish this.”
Zero let out a small grin. “Really? Are you serious? You want to continue fighting even though it’s useless and you should just give up?”
“C’mon, Zero. The entire story’s been building up to this battle,” Mario replied. “We can’t let it simply go to waste, now, can we?”
Zero chuckled, and shook his head. “If you really think that you still have a chance in hell...”
