Basically, this means that there is life out there. No question about it. It also strengthens theories that Earth's life was seeded by some interspacial event. (I.E. a meteor crash)

life doesn't have to carbon based. Its been proven that other elements, such as silicon, are a completely viable substitute

I meant that it doesn't necessarily support the seeding hypothesis for Earth, since we are carbon based, and this stuff is not.

TL;DR
But no, seriously.. this is old news. Your talking to the space nerd here who keeps on top of things like this. There is quite a good chance.. and is probably the most likely theory being offered by modern science that a comet is the reason we exist. Comet's contain the building blocks for basically all our life.
Awesome discussion topic, by the way. Love to see other's interested in astronomy.
