Haruhiro Tsujimoto, President of Capcom, has indicated that they are currently in talks with Hollywood studios in order to jointly produce new films based on its popular video game properties, based on the success of its Resident Evil trilogy. "We are in the process of working out contracts for several offers we received at the Cannes Film Festival last week and hope to make an announcement soon," said Tsujimoto in a Bloomberg Television interview. Though no specific titles were named by Tsujimoto himself, the report mentions Devil May Cry, while an Onimusha film by Christophe Gans, Director of Silent Hill, has not yet proceeded into full production. Meanwhile, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li starting Kristin Kreuk is set for a 2009 release, and will have a major influence on Capcom's future movie projects. "We want to do with games what Marvel did with comics," Tsujimoto stated. After yesterday's announcement of a movie based on Namco's Pac-man, could something like the following Mega Man trailer (made on a shoestring budget) be very far off? www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPHy2dTzPa8

That Megaman thing was AWESOME, even though I'm not too crazy about the game.
