OK, I am going to be holding a poetry contest just for fun (mostly because I was bored). Enter all kinds of poetry, there's no limit on what you can enter. Here are the rules for this: 1. It can be either a poem you wrote, or one you like. Don't just pick a random poem of the internet, choose one that really caught your attention or connected to you. Don't be lazy. 2. Make sure to credit the author if the poem is not yours. 3. Please no profanity like f*ck or b*tch or stuff like that. Words like damn and hell are OK since they are not extremely vulgar profanity. 4. Poems must have titles, and don't make it such an uber long poem that it makes readers get bored. If it has sections of brief poems, that's fine. Just no 1000 lined poems please. XD 5. If you enter a poem, it must be an ACTUALLY poem, not just some crap you put together. Like "Red is bread, blue is goo." >_< If you want to make a poem, PUT EFFORT INTO IT! Have actual poetic devices in it. 5. You can't enter a poem someone else already submitted. 6. Lastly, you are allowed to enter 2 poems. The winner will be picked through votes sent to me by PM. I will tally up the votes, and announce the winner. I will lock this thread when the contest is over. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's my poem entry, coming from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Loveless Prologue:When the war of the beast's bring about the world's end The goddess descends from the sky Wings of light and dark spread afar She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting Act I:Infinite in mystery is the gift of the goddess We seek it thus, and take to the sky Ripples form on the water's surface The wandering soul knows no rest Act II:There is no hate, only joy For you are beloved by the goddess Hero of the dawn, Healer of worlds Dreams of the narrow hath the shattered soul Pride is lost Wings stripped away, the end is nigh Act III:My friend, do you fly away now? To a world that abhors you and I? All that awaits you is somber morrow No matter where the winds may blow My friend, your desire Is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess Even if the marrow is barren of promises Nothing shall forestall my return Act IV:My friend, the fates are cruel There are no dreams, no honor remains The arrow has left the bow of the goddess My soul, corrupted by vengeance Hath endured torment, to find the end of the journey In my own salvation And your eternal slumber Legend shall speak Of sacrifice at world's end The wind sails over the water's surface Quietly, but surely Act V:Even if the morrow is barren of promises Nothing shall forestall my return To become the dew that quenches the land To spare the sands, the seas, the skies I offer thee this silent sacrifice

Hmmm.... I'll make one up righttttt...... NOW:
If you take a guy from his woman... If you take a woman from, her guy... You...will...die... He will get you She will kill you Don't run, or you will be hated Don't cry or you will be forgotten You get to meet your fate at last Isn't this... What you've wanted?
Yeah... I just came up with that.

Here's mine, I call it "Heaven On Earth With You"
My father claims heaven isn't real My mother says I must earn it But I know they are both wrong For heaven is real right now Being with you is Heaven on Earth
Your long blonde hair is that of the angels singing the stunning song that is your voice Your beautiful eyes are the beautiful skies of heaven's love and peace blue and existing without a care in the world Your shining teeth are the pearly gates into the Providence for which I long to kiss (<Lame line, I know)
And every living moment I'm with you either touching or talking looking or hearing I am in Heaven, for your beauty, and your shining charisma, makes even the most beautiful of angels green of envy
For you, my dear sweet ******, (< I didn't want to put her name, sorry) you are the Heaven on Earth to me.
Okay, I know it's kind of cheesy, but I worked hard on it, sorry if it offends anybody... somehow.

Numba 2...:
You.... ride with your little friends. You.... Live with those little sends. You take everything you can... and leave it here. Your friends can't come, they will suffer. You lose your family and they cry at your department. You get shifted to another world. You thrown into another body. Your bad deeds made you an exile here. Your good deeds just make you hated. You have no friends here, your family can't come here. You're... all... alone... This place, it's hard to make out. There isn't really a name for it. So... We'll just call it Hell

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. "'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door- Only this, and nothing more."
Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December, And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. Eagerly I wished the morrow;- vainly I had sought to borrow From my books surcease of sorrow- sorrow for the lost Lenore- For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore- Nameless here for evermore.
And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain Thrilled me- filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before; So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating, "'Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door- Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door;- This it is, and nothing more."
Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer, "Sir," said I, "or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, That I scarce was sure I heard you"- here I opened wide the door;- Darkness there, and nothing more.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortals ever dared to dream before; But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token, And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, "Lenore!" This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, "Lenore!"- Merely this, and nothing more.
Back into the chamber turning, all my soul within me burning, Soon again I heard a tapping somewhat louder than before. "Surely," said I, "surely that is something at my window lattice: Let me see, then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore- Let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore;- 'Tis the wind and nothing more."
Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter, In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore; Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he; But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door- Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door- Perched, and sat, and nothing more.
Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling, By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore. "Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou," I said, "art sure no craven, Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the Nightly shore- Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!" Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."
Much I marvelled this ungainly fowl to hear discourse so plainly, Though its answer little meaning- little relevancy bore; For we cannot help agreeing that no living human being Ever yet was blest with seeing bird above his chamber door- Bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door, With such name as "Nevermore."
But the raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour. Nothing further then he uttered- not a feather then he fluttered- Till I scarcely more than muttered, "other friends have flown before- On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before." Then the bird said, "Nevermore."
Startled at the stillness broken by reply so aptly spoken, "Doubtless," said I, "what it utters is its only stock and store, Caught from some unhappy master whom unmerciful Disaster Followed fast and followed faster till his songs one burden bore- Till the dirges of his Hope that melancholy burden bore Of 'Never- nevermore'."
But the Raven still beguiling all my fancy into smiling, Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bird, and bust and door; Then upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linking Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bird of yore- What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt and ominous bird of yore Meant in croaking "Nevermore."
This I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressing To the fowl whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom's core; This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease reclining On the cushion's velvet lining that the lamplight gloated o'er, But whose velvet violet lining with the lamplight gloating o'er, She shall press, ah, nevermore!
Then methought the air grew denser, perfumed from an unseen censer Swung by Seraphim whose footfalls tinkled on the tufted floor. "Wretch," I cried, "thy God hath lent thee- by these angels he hath sent thee Respite- respite and nepenthe, from thy memories of Lenore! Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe and forget this lost Lenore!" Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."
"Prophet!" said I, "thing of evil!- prophet still, if bird or devil!- Whether Tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore, Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted- On this home by horror haunted- tell me truly, I implore- Is there- is there balm in Gilead?- tell me- tell me, I implore!" Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."
"Prophet!" said I, "thing of evil- prophet still, if bird or devil! By that Heaven that bends above us- by that God we both adore- Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn, It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore- Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore." Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."
"Be that word our sign in parting, bird or fiend," I shrieked, upstarting- "Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore! Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken! Leave my loneliness unbroken!- quit the bust above my door! Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!" Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."
And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door; And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming, And the lamplight o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor; And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor Shall be lifted- nevermore!
-Edgar Allen Poe

The Elf King
Who's riding so late where winds blow wild It is the father grasping his child; He holds the boy embraced in his arm, He clasps him snugly, he keeps him warm.
"My son, why cover your face in such fear?" "You see the elf-king, father? He's near! The king of the elves with crown and train!" "My son, the mist is on the plain."
'Sweet lad, o come and join me, do! Such pretty games I will play with you; On the shore gay flowers their color unfold, My mother has many garments of gold.'
"My father, my father, and can you not hear The promise the elf-king breathes in my ear?" "Be calm, stay calm, my child, lie low: In withered leaves the night-winds blow."
'Will you, sweet lad, come along with me? My daughters shall care for you tenderly; In the night my daughters their revelry keep, They'll rock you and dance you and sing you to sleep.'
"My father, my father, o can you not trace The elf-king's daughters in that gloomy place?" "My son, my son, I see it clear How grey the ancient willows appear."
'I love you, your comeliness charms me, my boy! And if you're not willing, my force I'll employ.' "Now father, now father, he's seizing my arm. Elf-king has done me a cruel harm."
The father shudders, his ride is wild, In his arms he's holding the groaning child, Reaches the court with toil and dread. - The child he held in his arms was dead.

Ah, just for the fun of it....
Bowser's Battle Hymn Verse 1
We are the loyal followers of Bowser our great King
Whose greatness can’t be matched in any place that can be seen
We’ll strive to help him rule in every land and everything
His Koops are marching on!
~The Trophies, ch. 12
It's too painful to finish.

Bodies fill the fields I see, hungry heroes end No one to play soldier now, no one to pretend Running blind through killing fields, bred to kill them all Victim of what said should be A servant `til I fall
[Chorus:] Soldier boy, made of clay Now an empty shell Twenty one, only son but he served us well Bred to kill, not to care Do just as we say Finished here, Greeting Death He's yours to take away
Back to the front You will do what I say, when I say Back to the front You will die when I say, you must die Back to the front You coward You servant You blindman [End Chorus]
Barking of machinegun fire, does nothing to me now Sounding of the clock that ticks, get used to it somehow More a man, more stripes you wear, glory seeker trends Bodies fill the fields I see The slaughter never ends
[Chorus]
{Why, Am I dying? Kill, having no fear Lie, live off lying Hell, Hell is here} x2
I was born for dying
Life planned out before my birth, nothing could I say had no chance to see myself, molded day by day Looking back I realize, nothing have I done left to die with only friend Alone I clench my gun
[Chorus]
{Back to the front}x5.

Well everyone else is... it looks fun...so why not? ^.^ I don't own any of this so - yeah... I'll put in a link as to where I got it from. Ok? Right here we go. Final words In days long past, a young man strode the lands of Tellius. He was simple yet true, his deeds brave and noble. He reunited two races long at war, and healed the heart of a goddess long gone mad. Ask any you meet be they young or old, beorc or laguz, of a hero named Ike and you'll receive a warm smile and a tale or two of faith, courage, and honesty. Fin (<- yes that is part of it...I think) www.serenesforest.net/fe10/script/ending.htmlScroll to the end of the page. This one is actually a song not a poem. I'll give the Youtube link so you can listen to it. For me it was a choice betweeen Dawn Awakens and Life Returns. They caught my eyes because... it (in my opinion) a beautifull song with powerful music. LIFE RETURNSGalldrimisanakikeganonawot orokokumorodametemotowikot uaerufetotetiarahowimay oditiuomami
