Which movie is better?
For Godzilla, I'm going for the monster in general, here...not his insane recreations where he fights different incarnations of himself and other monsters.
Godzilla: -Original movie was a massive box-office success in Japan. -Broke through an electric fence without taking any damage. -Had the proper length for any disaster movie (Approx. 95 mins). -Has 20 somewhat movies. -Is a freaking dinosaur. -Steady moving plot and interesting characters.
Cloverfield: -Has a great entrance (Blows something up). -A commercial success as well as a box-office success. -Managed to nearly destroy all of Manhattan. -Has giant parasite thingmajigs. -Characters are funny, to an extent. -Fate is unclear.
Honestly, I have to go with Godzilla on this. Godzilla's bigger than Clover, and the effects from the 1954 movie were quite good for its time.
Cloverfield, however, despite the fact that I love the movie, had generally irritating characters and an almost non-existent plot. Honestly, to recreate this movie, give someone a camera and have them say "Oh sh!t" into it for 75 minutes, because that's basically Cloverfield's plot.
Who do you vote for?

Godzilla is... well... God of Zillas. So there you go. The Godzilla movies were WAY better than the Clover Field movie IMO.
