Angel posted this in staff... please read and vote ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm glad I checked out this other ProBoards, because I found out we could use Avatars, and then Ghost admitted, yuss, there was an option. He tested it out and now I want it!  This may seem like a silly thing, but I really wish we could turn on the avatar feature for the c-box. This will give everyone a personal feel, something fun, and it's just a nice way to jazz up the place. When Ghost was posting, I noticed no difference in speed, they are small, unintrusive, and just cool! I don't see a reason not to vote YES! So plox vote Yes?  |

Okay i said yes but i want this to be known. 1 we did this when Brian got the preimium and you said it was annoying and sucked so what has changed? Second with smilies its gonna make huge unessecary collums and possibly slow down computers. Lastly it is something spammer could use to spammer further.

Not voting.. just making some sharp remarks.
As I said in that post, I notice NO slowdown when it comes posting speed. They are extremely small images and didn't slow it down a single bit.
Umm.. I don't see how having images in the name could make it spam further. Spam is spam. I mean.. how could images cause more spam?
And lastly, the biggest smilies are actually just as big, and ones like Dialga and Awesome are even bigger. So.. yeah.

Then i say we go for at for at least a day to see what happens. Hopefully it will last longer then the 5 minutes it did last time. How would you even put in a image. HOPEFULLY NOT through the url cause then you give up quick linking to stuff which i do.

Instead, you just put a image url.. it's that simple. I'm.. curious as to why your mention this.. or why you think I forget so easily. You have to chose, do you want a URL to link to or a avatar? If you want to show something, then just do it. |

I like the idea but my one regret if i had to chose would be losing the ability to simply go " <|== Hey [insert name here]! Look at this!" Its just a bit easier and saves effort to dig up URLs. thats all.

Ok Personally I think this is a win. I love the idea of avatars in the c-box and I voted yes but do see KOD view point on this matter. People might lose the convenience of posting links easily and it might slow down the loading speed. I know you said you didn't notice a change in the loading speed but that might not be the same for every computer. Just like KOD I say try it out for a few days. Let people get use to it and we'll see if everything checks out ok. I really like this idea though. Good job Angel. |

I voted Yes. I used them before on other forums with a premium cbox, and really didn't get why no one wanted to allow them./ and i was on internet that was half the speed of dial up back then..and it was DSL!!!!
Chatting wasn't a problem with avatars, it was more fun. i say just allow it

I would like to point out that when we tested this before, it sucked. Only 3 to 4 posts show up at a time and conversations with many people are IMPOSSIBLE to follow. Take this in consideration.

Uh... who the hell cares? 4 posts at least, you can see that 3 posts show, plus more on teh screen shot that I took. That's enough to follow a conversation. All the other forums who have this set up manage it fine.. I don't see why are specially dumb. |
