Forum Wikia. We needs it. If it's not obvious why, here is a list of reasons. Now make it staff so everyone can start editing it.
Things that could go in the Wikia:
Raw, revealing member information and a complete member's history. Don't know Blank is? Sheik? New and interested in how the mod's became mods? All good here. A person's POSTY's awarded could be documented here for all time and notable relationships, what events they were involved in, Trivia, basic statistics like how many times they have been banned, etc.. all good.
Events. Even causal events, like the Megazord events and dramatic events like the LGN RPG Blowout and etc, will be recorded here for future knowledge and looking back.
Our Internet Rules, our Forum Rules, past Forum Rules and their reception, bad decisions, RP Rules, etc.
In depth analysis on RP plots, characters, etc.
Complete POSTY's coverage and information.
And many, many more.

You ned to ask permisson for members information. Some people don't want their past shoved in their face just for someone else's entertainment. Honestly.. putting information that is not from the source themselves is second hand info. A person can be made out to be a terrible individual when the person being talked about doesn't see them in this type of way. Everyones opinions are different about other people and this should not be exploited for some silly fun. ITs not fun when people get slammed with negative view, regardless of whether people feel they deserve it of not. At least ask for permission from the active members. Inactive members might be a problem and those that don't show up are impossible to get.
Thats honestly the only issue i have with it. Huge events, fine that should be remembered, rules sure, RP stuff go ahead, and of course posties. Overall its a good idea

Wikia is a Wikia so it can be made by anyone. Sure some troll could go in and edit your page to make you look like a jerk, but then you can just edit it back and request that the troll not be allowed to edit your page anymore or be punished on the site. Seems like the perfect protection to me. I'm sure if we are worried that people will be made to look bad, but we can definitely request that for every bad thing you say about someone you say a good thing too. Going to be honest, we all have done some stupid crap, and while some things shouldn't be put in because they are just too hot button, a good amount of our history here.. the good and the bad is worth saving. It's our history. |

And I answered. As you have the ability to edit your own history, you can write your own history. I for once will be asking people for anything they can add to mine because I believe some of your history is how you were seen in the eyes of others.. and I even want a "reception" section.. where people can post all the negative comments I've received.. I'm not afraid of it.
But since every member will have the ability to edit their page, they can take down themselves any information or any history that they don't want. They have supreme power over their page in the end, but we shouldn't keep other people from editing it either.

I don't think you're understanding me but I'm not going to draw it out any longer. All I'm saying is a page should not be posted unless the member agrees to it or they wrote it themselves. Thats all I'm saying. Yes they could edit their page but if they didn't want it up in the first place, its the one that posted it thats in the wrong. Thats why I said, don't post pages on people if they haven't agreed to it. It's their history, they decide whether it should be viewed or not.

lol. Chill out Devaux. Even if you have no problem with the wiki, some people just don't want to be put out there like that. The least we can do is hear them out and respect their wishes.. for the most part.

I think that nobody should make a profile for anybody but themselves. why do we have to edit information about ourselves? we should be able to write our own profiles. The fact that people are worried about other people writing bad stuff about them already is pretty damn sad.
