EPILOGUE:
As the heroes gathered, shared their joys, and said their farewells, a solitary figure watched from the shadows outside the dojo. He had been there the whole time, as Smashbro defeated his first opponent, as Ready2Brawl was involuntarily corrupted by evil, as Snake and Mew2Mast3r were chased by a swarm of Beedrill, as Lucario made amends for the wrong he had done Krystal, and as Dervish and the real Blank escaped, intent on revenge.
But he had never been seen. He, known (or not known) only as Snicket, had stood by and watched everything that had happened, every triumph, every death, every surprise, and every loss, but had not done so much as lift a finger.
The one time he had been close to revealing himself had been on Yoshi's Island, where he had watched innocent but confused Yoshis being slaughtered by Geo. But even then, when the brethren of one of his only true friends were in peril, Snicket had declined to act. Why? Nobody knows but himself.
Now, as new friends parted, and as old friends were reunited, Snicket whispered to himself.
"Yes...everything seems to be resolved. Yet something still does not seem right; something is still not in balance. These friends will no doubt soon reunite to face another threat. But next time...I may not be able to sit out. Next time, it won't be as easy. Next time, I may have to get involved..."
But as he turned to leave, he thought he saw one of the forum members staring at him.
Hastily, the silhouette fled, cursing himself.
