Chapter 11: Nero Hinogama
Earth: North America
A Government Lab
*9 years ago* Nero Hinogama was an average run of the mill scientist. He wore the traditional white lab coat and wore glasses. Yes, he a geeky scientist that worked for the USA government..He was Japanese, but born here. Nero was originally a standard scientist for the medical field.
The government noticed that Nero was extremely bright and could possible be useful for their human genome project. So, that is the reason why he works for the government..
Nero, and his close friend Derek Stiles, have been working on the Human Genome Project for at least a year. They are trying to create humans, or to be more correct "super humans" that can be used for Military purposes. Recently, they just made a breakthrough that can change, well history. They exceeded in creating a human!
Nero: I can not believe my myopic eyes!! We finally did it!! We succeeded in creating a human! Derek looked sullen for some reason. Nero: What's a matter?? I'm surprised you aren't celebrating. Derek sighed. Derek: It's just..Well, what makes a human unique is their soul..If a body doesn't contain a soul it can not operate.*he took a deep breath* So, we made a body but no soul.
Now both Nero and Derek were both in a gloomy mood. Derek:*Looks at watch* WOW! I think it's time for you to go home now Nero..Don't worry I will take care of this problem. Nero was having mixed emotions, he was happy and sad at the same time. Nero:*Thinking to himself* I wonder how Derek will solve our dilemma. Well, at least now I can go home and see my wife.
So, Nero headed out to go back home to his wife, Linda. A few hours later, Nero finally arrived at his luxurious house, he knew it was lite because the stars were out and most likely Linda was waiting on the couch. He proceed to the door expecting to hear a "How was your day, Nero?" but that wasn't the case today. Nero's wife was nowhere to be found. He started to scream out her name in a desperate attempt to hear a reply, there was none. Finally, Nero walked out to his kitchen table to found a note written by Linda it said
"I'm sorry Nero.. But the past few months I have been extremely ill, I didn't want to tell you this because I know you have enough stress from work. If you want to see me I'm at the St.John's Hospitel..I'm so sorry Nero, please forgive me. From Your Loving Wife, Linda Hinogama"
Tears started to rush down from Nero's face, the he fell to the floor and started to scream. Nero: I'm such an idiot!!! I should realized something was wrong with my wife, I'm so caught up with my job and can't take time out to see how is she. *punches the floor* He finally calmed down a bit and rushed to the hospital. It took about a good hour for him to finally get to his wife's bed. Linda looked horrible, she was pale like a ghost and tubes was sticking from her arms and nose.
Nero:*Crying* This is all my fault..I should of spent more time with you.. Linda: It's..not your fault..I should of told you earlier but...I didn't you to worry about..Nero...I won't be able to hold on for much longer so before...I pass away I want you to know that this isn't your fault and I love you..
Tries started to pour down Nero's face again, he couldn't bare seeing his wife like this. A few minutes later, visiting hours were over, and had to say farewell his wife. Linda died 2 hours later..
Nero didn't know what he was going to with himself but he pulled himself together and said he stay has job to do..
The upcoming weeks were very hard on Nero.

Chapter 12: Creation
Even though a tragedy struck Nero, he knew h had a job to do. What is this job you ask?? Well, its finishing up creating that human.
Yes, they have already completed the body but you can not have a body without a soul. So, the after Lind's death, Nero headed for work. When he got there he notice everyone was staring at him with empathy. Those stares made Nero more sad, but he is a man of action and he must complete the project! So finally, he might up Derek and started to discuss what they are going to.
Derek: Hey man, I'm sorry about your lost. Nero looked at him as if he was crazy, Nero: Wait a second. I didn't tell anyone my wife died. Derek: I know. It was Gray Fox that told us the bad news. Come to think of it, I think gray Fox didn't expect you to be at work today. Nero went to into a sullen state and he wasn't sure that he was anger that Gary Fox told people his business or sad that his wife just died. Derek: You should speak with Gray and see if you can go home. Nero: But what about.. Derek: Don't worry about it, I will take it. You need some rest, now go!
So, Nero nodded his head and looked for Gray Fox. Gray Fox is an old man that has long gray hair and a goatee to boot. He used to be a solider of war but now he is a retired veteran that is the overseer at this government facility. Nero finally found Gray drinking a cup of tea. Gray: Oh well this is a pleasant surprise! What are you doing here Nero? I know about what happened your wife, so I didn't expect you to come to work today. Nero: Yea, I was wondering about that. I wanted to ask you if I can go home. Gray: Of course you can!! I want to see you get better, don't worry about things here, I know Derek handle things. If anything happens I will give you a call. OK? Nero nodded and started to head out, but then at that very moment, Gray started to speak again.
Gray: Nero. I know you are changed man. I can tell by the look in you eyes. Nero turned around and gave Gary a perplexed stare. Nero: Excuse me? I don't understand.
Gray: Destruction, Pain, and Despair. These three elements is what changes a man. A person can only change when they endured these three elements. Nero: I'm sorry, sir. But, I don't know what you are talking about.
Gray: Destruction- You losing your wife, Pain- The thought of never seeing her again, never finding someone that will love you liked her, Despair- The everlasting feeling of guilt that you never spend enough time with due to work and maybe if you did spend more time with her, you might of been able to save her.
Nero was in a total state of shock, he didn't know where he was getting at with all this. Nero: I don't understand, what does this have to do with anything? Gray: I'm telling you this because you have to put the past behind and become stronger so you can endure future endeavors. If you don't toughen up life will destroy, Nero. Now you may proceed in the process of leaving. Goodbye Nero.
Nero finally left his job but Gray Fox's words lingered on in his head. "Why was he telling em this? What does have to do with anything?", Nero knew he had a long week ahead of him.
It was late night and a mysterious figure was entering the government lab. It was no other then Derek Stiles. He was at the lab so he can finish up the human, he was going to make the body a soul. Derek headed to the back of the lab and inserted his key card into the slot, it opened up a gloomy room that contained four containers. Three containers formed a triangular pattern around the Fourth container that was in the middle of the room. There was also an ominous circle on the floor, underneath the containers. The containers contained bodies that floated in water, the the container in the middle of the room had the body that Derek and Nero created. It was time for Derek do his alchemy.
He bite his thumbs and blood started to leak from them, he then placed his hands on the circle and it lit up. The circle gave off a crimson glow and the containers started glow, as well. Derek: I will use the souls of these useless human beings to merge as one and create a soul for my creation. All of sudden, ectoplasm energy surged out of the bodies that were in the three containers, that energy then surged into the container in the middle of the room. Finally, the ritual came to halt. It was finish and Derek succeed in creating a soul.
Derek walked over to the container in the middle of the room and proceed in letting the body out. The body fell to its knees and it was in a bit of daze, it started to open its eyes and saw Derek. Derek: Oh hello there! My name is Derek. I see you have been sleeping for while, Kuja. Kuja: Where am I? Who am I? Is Kuja my name??? Who are you? Derek held his arm out waiting for Kuja to give him his hand. Derek: Come with me. I will explain everything.

I'm sorry if this chapter seems a little boring, currently this volume takes place in the past and will explain all the events that lead up to where Ancient Minister is trying to take over the galaxy!
