I feel I must share my opinions about bans since 2 members I was very fond of got the hammer. I don't like how the staff can ban anyone they want or whoever they don't like. I know they are the rule keepers and they make sure the site stays clean for all out sakes but the regular members here have opinions about these individuals too. Since the staff keeps there opinions locked away in the staff board we have no way of helping our friends if they're about to be banned.
I'm suggest that we have some sort of trial session set up. A board or something where a person can plead their case. The mods will control how the session proceeds. The defending member that is about to be banned should be able to bring a set amount of friends/members to help him plead his case. Then after all of discussions are taken care of we can let the members of the site pass judgement. We can hold a poll to vote on whether or not the member should be banned or not. If the member is found guilty he will be banned if he is found innocent he will be given a temperary ban (maybe 2 days) to think about the trial and then he will be able to return.
what do you guys think?

I'm thinking we ban people who break the rules. I know they were your friends, but they broke the rules. They've both had warnings, they both continued to break the rules. That's why they were banned. We don't just decide "Meh, I kinda don't like that person. BAN TIME" It's really not that simple.

When it comes down to it, the staff would not ban a member if they were not given warning of their actions or if they had broken the rules. When you are told, "Please stop what your doing, or it's going to end up resulting in so-and-so." and you keep doing it, then your only at fault for your own consequence.
I never like seeing people leave. I agree that every forumer here, I give loving them them and chance and I see the good in them. So when someone is banned, I too am sad. I end up wishing there was another way we could do this. Prevent the spam, prevent the rule breaking but keep the person. But things aren't that sample.
In the end, it's the friend, it's the you and me that is the victim. Which is really sad. And I am sorry. But it's the way things have to be.

I'm just saying that we should have this for future problems with troubling members. And another thing. Why are they banned from the c-box and the forums? If someone flames or spams in the c-box and are banned. I don't think they should be banned from the forums unless they showed the same type of behavior.

If someone acts one way on the c-box, is rude to members, is hurtful.. why would they not be on the forum and to the same people as well though?

If they're on the Cbox, then they're probably also a member on the forum. So it's still the same person on the forum that's on the Cbox, so we ban PEOPLE, not just their Cbox account

also, people who are mad about getting banned usually post a topic about their so-called "unfair ban" to rant for no reason, and just end up in more trouble

It's sad but true. He got many warnings and then he started to test people, back -talking and what not..Now I do agree we should of been less aggressive then as we were but nonetheless he's was breaking the rules..Sorry

Ignoring the actual reasons for this topic......
If we set up such a trial system, the site would be susceptible to large groups of spammers/flamers. It would take too long to ban them, and they could just override our decision just because they like the person.

alright, we have a rule system for the cbox
2 warnings they get for spamming. two whole warnings, if they do not stop, we ban them for a short time. Then they can come back. The bans get longer and longer until we decide we have had enough, your no longer welcome here, banned forever!!!!!
This morning was just an example. Megus is on perma ban now for spamming, and flameing both. he is NOT welcome back on the c-0box.
He can be on the forums...idc.....no one else on staff does either as long as he doesn't take the spam and flame there to the forums.....
we have these rules set up to keep the forum clean of spammers and flammers.....even if they are your friends, if they break the rules the 6 or 7 times we allow before a PERMANENT ban.....then they don't belong here Star...i'm sorry.....
