Two of my quotes about Brawl made it in the entertainment column. I will post the article, replacing my name with my fansite name.
If you have ever owned a Nintendo 64 or a Nintendo GameCube, you've probably played a Super Smash Brothers game. Smash Bros. is a fighting game that consists of only Nintendo characters.
The third installment of the series is titled Super Smash Brothers Brawl, relating to the second one with a fighting related title. The title of its forerunner was Super Smash Brothers Melee.
Even though most people are more excited by Halo 3 arriving, devoted Nintendo fans are eagerly awaiting Brawl. Even Holo players should admit that a game like this should be interesting.
The new game features all the classic characters such as Mario, Link, Kirby, and Pikachu, as well as several new characters. Some of the new ones include characters such as Meta Knight from Kirby and Solid Snake of Metal Gear Solid. Snake is an exception to the all Nintendo rule.
The game has most if not all of the features of Melee. Such as trophies, special battles, multi-player, and adventure mode. Even though they have a whole new look to them.
The adventure mode of Brawl has been changed quite a bit. The nw mode is now based on who you play with as well as their personal history.
Adventure mode has also had its name changed to match the story line. This new mode has been changed to the title, "The Subspace Emissary."
The Subspace Emissary is a side-scrolling adventure against an enemy called the Subspace Army.
Brand new items have also been added to the game. One such item is the golden hammer.
It deals as much damage as the ones before and allows characters to walk on air with it. Unfortunately, its flaw is gamers might end up getting a useless squeaky toy rather than a hammer of gold.
Also new items called assist trophies have been put in. These released characters usually help a player by attacking only their enemies to deal a large amount of damage to them.
The new game has also revealed brand new items called smash balls. Thes fly around a stage at certain points in a match and the first character to break it, if anyone does, can get a major advantage in battle.
These smash balls allow each character to do their own special attack for super damage on their enemies. The attacks are called a character's 'Final Smash.' Each final smash is either a temporary effect or a direct attack.
The temproary effects give the character an ability for a short amount of time. While direct attacks hit characters automatically and cause a short cutscene in the battle.
Along with new characters, modes, and items the game also includes all new stages.
All the stages are now based on slightly more recent games from Nintendo. New stages include Isle Delphino (Super Mario Sunshine) and Smashville (based on Animal Crossing).
The stages also are slightly more interactive with your character. They might include a wall or tower that you can destroy with a character's attack.

The controls of the game are all new thanks to the Wii's motion controls. Althogh those who have one controller can still play multiplayer with a GameCube controller.
"I think it will be cool how the Wii's motions affect the character's movements in the game," said Michael Padilla (not me).
The Wii's features also contribute to the game with it's internal clock. Some of the stages will change from day to sunset to night as it does out side. Also a special treat was put in for people playing at Smashville at 8:00 PM on a Saturday night.
Originally the game was to be released late last year along with the game system Wii, but the game was to be taken back to Nintendo for more tweaking.
The game's longest believed release date was revealed to be at the very start of December (along with many other things) just in time for Christmas. To be exact it was expected to come out on Mon., Dec. 3, 2007.
The new game is expected to sell extremely well taking into consideration that Melee was called a best seller in not much time at all.
"I love the series and I will definitely buy the new game when it finally comes out," said sonicmadeit (me).
Brawl has had it's first playable version for the public at the E for all convention in LA, California. Although Nintendo has let people play, they set the games at the convention to only have certain characters that Nintendo has already revealed to be in the game.
"The game has been postponed four times now, this had better be the best game I've ever played by how long it has been held back" said sonicmadeit.
It's true, the game has had another postponing recently. On Oct. 12, 2007 the game was announced to have been postponed until Feb. 10, 2008 in the Americas and until January in Japan.
The game is now fourteen months back from it's original release date of Dec, 2006 in the Americas. Nintendo said it is to improve the overall game.
Many electronics stores are disregarding the lastest postponing. Still many stores have not removed their reserved copies from the shelves of their stores.
A website about the game has been made and is called Super Smash Brothers DoJo. This website has daily updates aevery weekday that vary from characters and stages to modes and character abilities.
The website features things such as videos and character information
Most of the major annoyances of the old game such as in home-run contest have been more or less fixed in Brawl.
Many characters have gotten a new look in Brawl from in Melee. For example, Link is now designed after his adventure in the recent game, Twilight Princess.
Brawl also has had a few rumors floating around about some of it's characters. Some of the rumors have involved Lucario from Pokemon and the Young Link to be based after the game Wind Waker.
A few of the myths about the characters have already been confirmed. Sega's famous blue hedgehog was revealed as a playable character in early October.
Nintendo fans will be lining up for miles to get this game on Feb. 10, 2008.
