I just wanna make one thread here. One part is Social, one is general/ confusion
1. There's this girl that I like that sits in front me in my writing class. We act like best friends, giving each other high fives whenever we see each other, and the occasional hug. Here's my dilemma: My school has a no PDA policy. I go to a military school where everyone is in JROTC, and I want to move up in rank and get a position. Basically Relationship+JROTC=No rank. Ouch. I'm a Sergeant
Also, I've never been good at asking girls out. What I think I should do is ask her to the only dance we can both attend in November. With this, our JROTC teachers won't get mad cause the boys are supposed to go on dates. But I don't want her to get a boyfriend in that 3 month period. Advice?
2. Earlier in my Chinese class (yeah, you herd me. Chinese) We got into this heated discussion with my teacher and her visiting sister. Eventually the conversation got to the point where we were asking how far apart in age they were, and my teacher said that that was a personal question. Then I burst out saying. "C'mon Lao Shi!! (Lao Shi means teacher in Chinese) Thirst our Quench for knowledge!!!" Everyone was quiet for like two seconds, and then they burst out laughing at my stupid comment. In the heat of the moment, is was the funniest thing anyone had said at our school in a LONG TIME. Trust me, stupid people and stupid statements are the "Hot button" at my school.
So anyway, after getting on my knees with my head on the carpet, banging my fist on the ground from shear hysteria, I stepped out and had a drink. Afterwords, everyone was still giggling. We got into another discussion regarding gas in Taiwan. Our teacher said that they use the metric system over there, and about 4 liters equaled a gallon. Her sister then said that it was about $2 a liter. Then I say quietly (but loud enough for everyone to hear) "Woah, that's like 6 bucks" 2 x 4=6
Realize here, that both of these were on accident. The same thing happened again: Everyone was quiet, and then burst out laughing. I got a priceless look on my friends face (He literally looked at me like Toon Link looks in my avatar). Then I did in my head after my blunder '2 x 4=8. Crap'
Two stupid statements that will never leave me. I think I'll be able to recover, I'm popular among the upperclassmen (BTW there's only a few other 10th graders in that Chinese class with me, the rest are 11th and 12th), and the freshmen. However, nobody in my grade level likes me, but I really don't care since the upperclassmen decide who's popular and who's not in reality.
Any advise?
