Up until now I've been fairly satisfied with my writing of stories like The Trophies and such; but recently I wondered if a certain site existed, and sure enough, I found Fanfiction.net. But this site is so...intimidating. I looked at some of the writing in there, and some of those stories are so in depth, it scares me, and really makes me feel like I won't measure up to the future of writing I'd like to have. There's just too many writers which are infinitely more skilled than me. I am internally confused.

I know I'm not a guru, but I understand exactly where your coming from. I've seen the sight, and read their stories. But I really think that your writting would fit there. Also, it takes this people awhile to do these. They do them for days to weeks to months in order to perfect them.
I've seen them say like "This one took a few weeks to revise". If you want to make your writting better, I suggest that you do what they do by revising it constantly before you post it. You can also try to post something you've already written and get their judgment first.
I'd type more and better if I could EVER FRIGGIN USE THE COMPUTER THAT MY BROTHER HOGS! I HATE using my Wii to type crap. >_< And if I try to get him off, he whines. -_- Oh well, that's life.

Alot of people who post on that thing are really good writers but alot of them are much older. Your only 15 and you're writing stuff that's excellent....ONLY 15!!!! It takes time and practice to get to your full potential...you have plenty of time

Bob don't feel bad one bit, there is a very good reason why your writing is good. One it won a POSTY and it'll probably win again. Two, you write MUCH better then me and most of the stuff you post in the rpg and other things just blows me away. Your only 15 years old and your writing amazingly good. If you still feel that your not measuring up, then there's nothing that boosts confidence like practice, practice, practice. As long as you progress as a writer and thinking outside of the box then you can succeed.

Bob, your writing is excellent. Don't let the fact that another site has people who write just as well as you bother you.

Look Bob, your writing is excellent. Seriously, you are just fifteen. Those people are likely around thirty, have been through college, possibly even MAJORING in writing. You want to see how other people on your level write? smashbrosfan.proboards81.com/index.cgi?board=write

There is always someone better than the other..Take let's say J.K Rowling for example, she's an excellent writer no doubt about it..Just because she's good, there's always someone out there better than her..And then someone better than that person and so on and so forth..Do they have to be famous? no..There are plenty of amazing and talented people that are underground.. Point its, you shouldn't be discouraged at all just because people are better, that just means you have to try harder

Thanks everyone. I always knew that there were much better writers out there, it just seemed almost overwhelming to see all these stories which aren't published but are still extremely in-depth. I'll try to use it as a motivation rather than as discouragement.

Okay everyone here's the plan. We all make accounts on fanfiction.net and submit terrible fan fics so we lower the bar a little so that Bob feels more comfortable submitting one. But on a serious note, Bob you are a terrific writer. It might look like theirs is better, but if someone truly has a lot of talent, they won't really realize it. If someone brags and is like "Liek hai guyz I right better dan yew" then they probably suck. In other words Bob, don't feel discouraged. You have a lot of talent and I'm sure people will love your fanfics even on that website. If anything, you should feel motivated to try your hardest *high fives Bob*

Well said guru of health problems which I do not obtain becasue I use the bowflex.
Back on topic here, so don't worry Bob. Your writting could drop kick mine and kcik it to Kentucky...unless you live their...then it drop kicks mine to Romania.

There's just too many writers which are infinitely more skilled than me. I am internally confused. this is they way most of us (or at least me) feel when writing my fanfic/rp post after reading yours. you're great, and have helped me, and probably other people on this site learn about writing. You of course can improve, but you're only 15, like everyone said, and you have already become a great writer. just post there, your stories would fit in there.
