Chapter 5 --- Failed Flight
www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fQrrJfEmCM
Fox and Falco stepped out of the portal, fresh from their adventure in Tabuu’s, and were going to go on patrol.
“So where should we go?” Fox asked.
“Wolf. We never knew what happened to him, he must be up to something,” Falco replied.
“Good point. But let me call in help first,” Fox then called someone, and told them to come there, to help hunt down Wolf. Fox and Falco waited around for some time, and finally, they heard the roar of an engine, and an Arwing landed, and out stepped Krystal.
“Same old thing? He wants to destroy us?” she asked.
“Not sure yet, that’s what we’re checking up on,” Fox replied. “You up for it?”
“Anytime,” she replied. The 3 then got into separate Arwings and flew over to Wolf’s floating base.
“So what are we gonna do?” Krystal asked. “Looks like Wolf hired some extra help; there are lots of Wolfens flying around.”
“Probably recruits in their testing period,” Falco replied. “I heard rumors he was seeing people about joining the team. I’d bet there’s a bunch of other henchmen crawling his base too.”
“Just wait for no Wolfens to be around, and we’ll dock like normal,” said Fox.
“Isn’t that a bit…rash? Just flying in there like we own the place?” Krystal asked.
“Nah, it shouldn’t be a problem,” Fox replied non-chalantly.
“But we better go in one at a time, so it isn’t too obvious,” Falco replied.
“Good idea, I’ll go now,” replied Krystal. She then flew towards the base, and landed the ship. She quickly got out, took out her staff, and ran down a small corridor near where she landed. Krystal did not meet any enemies as she crept down the hallway, making her way deeper into the base. Soon, though, she heard a voice, and looked in a room to see Wolf talking to himself:
Wolf O’Donnel,
I wanna join you team. I know you’ve been looking at new recruits recently, and figured I should make myself stand out. So here’s a present I hope you will enjoy. If you like it and would like to talk to me, I’ll be in the city district waiting. Enjoy.
Owttow, the Jackal
Wolf was holding what seemed to be some sort of gun, with a navy stripe on the side. Krystal went to turn around and go tell the others of what she just saw, but she saw a new recruit approaching, who was too engrossed in a paper to see her. But it would only be a matter of time before he looked up, and Krystal couldn’t run the other way because Wolf would be able to see her pass his room. So, taking out her staff, she quickly landed a few blows on the recruit, and he fell to the ground, knocked out.
“What’s that?” Wolf said aloud. Krystal stood absolutely still in the hallways, but was breathing heavily. She felt someone grab her mouth, and she struggled to turn and see who it was.
“Quiet or he’ll hear us,” Falco whispered in her ear.
“Well look who it is,” Wolf said, looking at the two. “Looks like I get to try out my new weapon right now.” He then took out the weapon, and Falco stared at it, wide-eyed.
“We gotta run,” Falco said, and led the way back to the Arwings as laser shots, that were navy in color, flew past them. Both made it back safely, and saw Fox getting out of his Arwing.
“Get back in, we’re leaving,” Falco said, hopping into his own. “He has the ray-gun again.” The 3 took off, just in time to let Wolf see them flying away. Some Wolfens then landed.
“Who were they?” one person asked.
“THE ENEMY YOU INCOMPETANT FOOLS! YOU’RE ALL FIRED!” Wolf yelled angrily. “NOW GO HUNT THEM DOWN WITH ME!” Some were confused by this, but 12 other recruits followed him after the Arwings.
The Arwings headed north, and by the time they reached the Island District, the Wolfens were in firing range. They seemed to be inexperienced though, and had poor aim at best.
“Ok, we can take them out easy,” Fox said. “Evasive move Delta!” He dived down in his Arwing, Krystal lifted up, and Falco put out a burst of speed. The recruits were trying to keep up with Falco while Fox and Krystal came back around and knocked 5 Wolfens down.
“East!” Fox called, and the Arwings began to head towards the east. But, Wolf was taking shots at Falco, and damaged his Arwing. Falco then plummeted down to an island and crashed.
“Should we see if he survived?” one recruit asked.
“No…I want Fox,” Wolf said, and the 8 remaining followed the still flying Arwings.
“What happened to Falco?” Krystal asked after some time, as he was nowhere to be seen.
“Probably was followed by some and thought of a different way to get rid of them. And you know he always prefers his own plans,” Fox replied. They continued on, and nothing interesting happened until a castle came into view. The Wolfens once again were within striking range.
“You know what to do,” Fox said, and he dove down towards the ground.
“What?” Krystal asked, looking for where he went. But she had slowed down to look for him, and therefore presented an easy target. Wolf shot her down, and she plummeted towards the castle. Fox headed south, but looked back and saw Krystal falling down.
“No!” Fox said, but he could not turn around, because the Wolfens were right behind him. So he continued to fly south, and when he saw the Wolfens were clumped together, he flew above them in one swift motion and dropped smart bombs over each one, destroying them in turn. But, one Wolfen was missing, so he dropped an extra one, which exploded in mid-air, and hit his own ship. Fox then fell to the ground.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Krystal got up, shook her head, and then looked at the sky. She saw no signs of what happened to Fox, but she hoped he would be ok. But for now, she just needed to get to safety. As she got up, she hit her head on a piece of metal jutting out from the wreckage. The last thing she remembered seeing were two people walking towards her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Krystal’s eyes fluttered opened and closed as she woke up. She was trying to see where she was, but could only see a blurry figure leaning over her.
“I think it’s waking up,” someone said. Krystal blinked her eyes a few more times, and then replied,
“I’m a she.”
“Oh. Well, uhh, do you mind us asking who you are?”
“You tell me first,” replied Krystal.
“Oh, right. I’m Zelda, and over there is Peach. We found you after your Arwing crashed…”
“How do you know what it was?”
“We know Fox and Falco.”
“Wait…I think they told me about you. I’m Krystal.”
“So what happened?”
“Well…” Krystal described seeing Wolf and the chase.
“Ok…but I thought that was Tabuu’s weapon?” Peach asked, coming into the room.
“I don’t know,” Zelda replied, “but Wolf is definitely doing something bad, so we better go and…”
“Princess Peach?” a toad came into the room, looking confused. “Theres…uhh…a visitor…I mean visitors...for you.” Then, two people walked into the room, at which Zelda stared at them, confused. Krystal had no idea who the two were, but assumed they were twins. Peach on the other hand, ran up to them.
“Mario! Doctor!” She hugged both of them, and then turned to see Zelda staring.
“Uhh…why are? Who is…?”
“Oh, yeah, they’re two different people. Long story,” Peach replied. “So what are you two doing here? Together?”
“Bowser’s planning on attacking the castle with a new weapon he got that looks like the one Tabuu used but he’s using it to add members to his own army and he wants to attack your castle so we came here to warn you,” they both said at the same time.
“That must have been the same thing Wolf had,” Peach said.
“Peach! Peach! Bowser has been spotted in the distance with his army!” Everyone followed the messenger toad out to the top of the castle, where everyone looked out from the balcony.
Peach, Zelda, Krystal(still bandaged), Mario, and Dr. Mario looked out to see Bowser leading his troops towards the castle. But everyone stopped and looked up when the sky flashed red.

Chapter 6 --- Welcome to the Jungle www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf0izGZHSm4&feature=related
“We need a boat,” Lucario said to a sailor at the dock. He was with Lucas, Popo, and Nana. They had set out from the icy mountains and made their way to Port Azulmar, to go and look for Mewtwo.
“What’d you interested in? Lots o’ space? Speed?” the sailor asked. Lucas, Nana and Popo were looking at all the rental boats docked there, arguing about which one they were going to get. Lucas was pointing at a sailboat and talking angrily at Popo, who was pointing to an Express Cruiser, while Nan was looking at a houseboat.
“We need speed, the fastest thing you have,” replied Lucario.
“You gonna be out for a long time?”
“Hopefully not.”
“Then this is the boat you’ll want.” The sailor showed a picture. “It’s probably best if you stop and refuel at other islands frequently, to refuel.”
“Alright. How much is it?”
“ehhh, 50 rupees.”
“Do you take this?” Lucario showed the sailor Pokémon money.
“Never seen anythin’ like that before, but then again I’ve never seen anything like you before. I’ve heard of it though, so that should be fine.”
“Let’s go everyone,” Lucario said, and led the others to a small skiff, with just enough room for all of them. Lucario sat in the stern, by the motor, Lucas at the bow to look out for anything ahead, and Popo and Nana sitting in the middle.
“So do you know where Mewtwo is supposed to be?” Lucas asked.
“No,” replied Lucario. “He only said he had to go to an island. But it’s probably far away, since he said no one lives there.”
The trip continued in silence, until Lucas caught sight of an island up ahead. Because they were running low on fuel, and needed something to each, they stopped at the island. Aside from the sandy beach, everything else in sight was a vast jungle with no signs of civilization, aside from a 6 pack of toilet paper, unopened.
“You think this is it?” Nana asked.
“Not sure, but maybe. It seems too close though,” replied Lucario. “Let me study the map. But I don’t think anyone lives here, so don’t go far from the beach, it could be dangerous.” Then, Lucario sat down in the sand and took out a map.
“Umm…Lucario…I kinda have to use the girls room,” Nana said.
“Ok, just…I don’t think there are any here so go a little into the jungle and you’ll have to use a tree. And take this,” Lucario replied, handing her a roll of toilet paper.
“This is so weird,” Nana said, walking away.
“Not for a Pokémon,” Lucario replied, not looking up. The others shared a look of discomfort and awkwardness before Nana left.
Lucas then began to walk towards the jungle (opposite the way Nana went).
“Where are you going?” Popo asked.
“To explore,” Lucas replied.
“But Lucario said…”
“We need to see if anyone is here, cause they could help us or this could be the island.”
“But what if you find bad people?”
“I’ll fight them.”
“You shouldn’t.”
“Then why are you following me?”
“I can do anything you can do.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Lucario?” Nana asked, coming back. “What happened to Lucas and Popo?”
“Not Popo and Lucas?” Lucario asked, not looking up. “And what do you mean?”
“It doesn’t matter either way,” Nana replied quickly. “But they’re not here.”
“What’re you talking about, they’re sitting right over there.” Lucario pointed to a spot on the beach further down, not looking up. But no one was there.
“No they’re not.”
“WHAT?!?” and in fact they were gone. “This is bad.” Lucario and Nana then set out to look in the jungle.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Falco got up out of the wreckage of his Arwing, and looked around. He appeared to be in some jungle, but at first couldn’t figure out why. Then he remembered.
As he neared the end of his maneuver, he ran out of boost, making his turn slower then it should have been. Wolf took this opportunity to knock him down. Before crashing, he saw that Fox and Krystal were headed west.
“Better get to them, hopefully Wolf didn’t make a fool of them yet,” Falco said to himself. He took out his blaster and began to walk through the jungle. He had not gotten far before hearing a rustling in the leaves, and so ducked down into the underbrush. The noises got louder, and then eventually softer. Falco was still lying down, deciding if he should follow the noise or go away from it when he heard someone whisper;
“What are hiding for?” Falco leapt up and aimed his blaster, but lowered it when he saw it was DK who had spoken.
“Did you hear the thing that went by?”
“You mean me? Yeah, I just swung by on vines and then looked back and noticed you. So what are you doing here?”
“…”
DK and Falco stood by the wreckage, staring.
“Wow.” DK replied to Falco’s story. “Looks like we better go and beat Wolf.” DK began to walk away.
“How? We can’t fly.” Falco looked back at the Arwing.
“Swim. Wait, can you?”
“Not that good!” replied Falco, waving his wings.
“Well, then…wait, what was that?” DK asked, hearing a repeated thumping noise.
“I dunno,” replied Falco. He took out his blaster and the two went to investigate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Falco and DK watched a red animal punching a tree over and over. Cracks started to appear in it, and eventually it fell, making a loud noise. The animal turned, and they could see it had spiked gloves, and shoes not unlike someone else they knew. The animal caught sight of them.
“Who are you? What are you doing here?” the creature asked. “Are you two after the emerald?
“What are you talking about?” Falco asked, aiming his blaster. “What are you doing here? What are you?”
“Why should I tell you?” the creature replied. “You’re probably after its power!”
“What’s power?”
“The emerald!”
“What emerald?!?”
“d’you know Sonic?” DK asked.
“Yes, why?” the creature replied.
“Cause we know him,” DK answered. “He helped us out a couple times, in the emissary, and just a little while ago again.”
“How do I know I can trust you?” the creature asked.
“You just gotta trust us,” DK said.
“Last time I did that I made a huge mistake.”
“Did he tell you anything about his adventures lately? The emissary?” Falco asked.
“…yes.”
“Well I’m DK, and this is Falco,” DK replied.
“How do you know we can trust him?” Falco asked.
“Trust,” replied DK. “So how about it? Could you help us get off this island?”
“…I guess is Sonic knows you. I’m Knuckles by the way. How’d you get here?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Wow. That’s damaged,” Knuckles said, looking at Falco’s crashed Arwing. “I know someone who’s good at fixing stuff like that though.”
“Really?” Falco asked. But before he could get any further, they heard two people emerge from the bushes behind them.
“Lucas. Popo. What’re you doing here?” DK asked.
“Wow. What happened?” Lucas and Popo asked at the same time. Each then told their stories.
“Well, we better get back to Lucario then,” said DK.
“So you guys have a boat?” Falco asked.
On the way back to the beach, they met Lucario and Nana. Everyone headed back to the beach, and rested.
“Kinda small boat, don’t you think?” Falco said, looking at the boat.
“Yes, and we’re almost out of gas. We figured people would be here who had some,” Lucario replied.
“So Tabuu is coming back?” DK asked.
“<sigh> I suppose its ok I told you now. But yes, he is,” Lucario replied. Then, the sky flashed red.
“That isn’t good,” Lucas, Falco, and Lucario all said.

Chapter 7 --- Travelers
I walked along a dusty path, unaware of the adventure on which I would soon embark. I saw two paths ahead of me; the right path would lead me home, the left to another world of which I was unfamiliar with. I had just come from my last case, successful of course, thinking of how it would be nice to have some rest. But I scolded myself for thinking this; I would never stop doing my job, even if it did grow tiring. Of course, being someone who is timeless, much like the acquaintances I would soon meet, I would continue this forever, unless I died. And so, with my ever present thirst for new adventures, I took the left path. I was headed through a land I had never seen before, but had heard that beings of another realm had plagued lands like this before. If the stories were true, it would be challenging in some respects, but with my two best allies by my side, I knew I would be able to solve any case. I never left home without them; I never even left them away from me in my home. And so during this walk I looked to my sides and made sure they were there. I had secretly hoped that I would be tasked with another job here. Little did I know I would soon become part of a huge case, which not even I could have solved alone. The people and other beings I met, and those I did not get to know as well, all played an important role in this story. But at the time, having no idea of the events that would proceed by my choosing this path, I walked along unaware that I would be a key figure in an epic adventure for the ages.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ike was sitting down at a table, and tapped his finger on the table. He was bored. Very, very bored. He had no idea what to do, and had nothing to do for fun. He had tried a game the soldiers called ‘chess’ but it was way too easy. It hadn’t been that long, but he was used to always being in the action of battle or life. Ike then heard a crash outside of Zelda’s summer castle, which he was supposed to be watching over, and so went outside to investigate. Followed by some of the castle guards, he headed towards the trail of smoke, seemingly emitting from the ground, to see that there were multiple ships that had crashed. In each a creature lied, but only one seemed familiar.
“Fox,” he said, helping the pilot out. “What happened?” Fox told the story of him crashing, adding at the end.
“I looked back, and saw that I was the only one left, and I had taken out all of the enemies. But one Wolfen was heading out towards the city. Then I crashed.” Fox looked at the Wolfens, and saw that Wolf had not crashed. Ike noticed this too.
“Does anyone else know about them?” Ike asked.
“Krystal and Falco did but…I don’t know if they’re...alright.”
“Ok. How about we head north to where Krystal crashed, she’s closest,” Ike began. “But are you sure we shouldn’t look for Wolf?”
“Yeah…that would be rash,” Fox looked down.
“Ok then. But on the way up, let’s stop in on some people who could help.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ike left a soldier in charge of the castle, and embarked on the journey with Fox. Most of the time neither talked. But Ike noticed a change in Fox. Fox walked more slowly then usual, and kept looking off in different directions, seemingly distracted.
“So…yup…uhhh…what’s up?” Ike asked at one point.
“Where are we going?” Fox replied.
“Here,” Ike said, and looked up at the castle.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Roy aimed at the cueball, struck it, and knocked in the 9 ball.
“Looks like 8 is the only one left,” he said. He and Luigi were playing pool in Roy’s castle.
“man, it feels great to kick back and relax,” Luigi commented. “No work, no danger, no brother…”
“What’d you say?” Roy hit the 8 ball but it didn’t go in a pocket, but stopped precariously close to one. Then, the castle shook, and the ball fell in.
“What was that?” Roy asked, looking around.
“I don’t know but it helped you win,” Luigi replied. A guard rushed into the room.
“A fox wearing clothes was just seen in the castle, and it seems as though we are under attack. We don’t know anything about the animal, but he may be dangerous, so…” Fox then entered the room.
“Fox!” Roy and Luigi yelled, glad to see him.
“…make sure to be on guard for him nevermind,” the soldier finished, deflated.
“Ganondorf is attacking, some of his army is out front, and Ike was trying to hold them off…”
“Then I guess we should help?” said Luigi, hoping he wouldn’t have to.
“Yeah, but I left my sword by the outhouse, I’ll have to use this one until it breaks,” Roy said, picking up a temporary sword.
“Wait? Weapons in your world break?” Fox asked.
“Most do,” Roy replied, as he led them back out.
“But then couldn’t it break in the middle of battle and you have no weapon?”
“Yep. But that’s a risk you sometimes have to take.”
“It shouldn’t be,” Fox replied.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ike seemed to be doing a good job holding off the enemies, and when the other heroes got there, the members of Ganondorf’s army had little chance. As they finished off the last one, Roy went to get his sword.
As Ike, Fox, and Luigi were discussing what happened, Luigi began to tremble and looked behind them.
“What’s wrong?” Ike asked. “Have to go to the bathroom?” Luigi shook his head, and continued to look at the skulltula creeping up behind them. Ike and Fox turned around, and saw this last enemy. Although they both reached for their weapons, it seemed as if neither would be able to act in time, and the spider was pouncing. Then, everyone heard 2 gunshots, and Ike and Fox moved out of the way as the spider flew forward, dead. But like it did in Twilight Princess, it moaned and curled its legs up, eventually disappearing in a puff of smoke.
“What just happened?” Ike asked. Neither Luigi nor Fox answered, since they were just as confused.
“I was just about to ask you the same thing,” said a man who walked up from behind him. He was wearing a red coat, had silver hair, and was putting away two guns.
“Who are you?” Ike asked.
“Dante, mercenary for hire, of the Devil Never Cry business. I specialize in paranormal cases. Which I would say we have here. What was that thing?”
Ike, Luigi and Fox (and Roy, when he returned) all told Dante of the events that happened in the Emissary and afterward.
“Hmm…so you say he’s been killed several times?” Dante asked.
“Yeah, no one knows how he comes back,” Roy replied.
“Typical,” muttered Dante, “So was that his whole army, what attacked you?”
“I doubt it,” Ike replied. “But we haven’t heard from him in a while.”
“I have,” said Sonic, suddenly standing behind them. “I passed him and his army on the way here.”
“What?!?” everyone said, except Dante.
“Can you go back and spy on him without him knowing you’re there?” Dante asked.
“Yep,” Sonic said, and he ran off into the distance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sonic gained speed, and was eventually running fast enough to be all but invisible. Then, he circled Ganondorf, while listening.
“Great King Ganondorf the Mighty, I, your loyal servent, regretfully bring terrible news, others you once knew, including the ignorant Bowser, have this extraordinary power that you have so recently acquired yourself, and they too, plan to build armies.”
“Well then,” Ganondorf said. “We shall attack the heroes here, and then set out to destroy them.”
“Very intelligent plan, when do we attack?” the minion asked, hastily adding, “sir?”
“Now.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sonic then returned to the heroes.
“Uhh…I have some bad news,” Sonic said. But before he could announce it, the sky flashed red.
“What was that?” Ike asked aloud.
“Usually the sky changes for only a moment when a link between two worlds is suddenly created or severed,” replied Dante.

Message from the Author
Hi anyone who is reading this, it's the week of thanksgiving, so I won't post a chapter (partially cause i need extra time to work on chapter 9) but instead i figured i'd write something short like this. First off thanks to anyone reading, I'm doing my best to write as much as possible, but school and life have been getting in the way. Even though there have been many complications (deletions) I think that rewriting it made the story better, hopefully you'll agree, and I'll try to prevent that later.
Hope you guys liked the chapters so far, again, comments are welcome, good or bad. I was gonna type more but i forgot for now, so if i remember i'll tell you what i was gonna say.
I kinda got the feeling that ch 3 was a little boring, since it was the love quadrangle thing, but it was somewhat necessary, and it will definately connect with others and what they are doing at this time. Bear with me, but this is something that will play out throughout the rest of the story, even though it won't be the focus as much as it was chapter 3
In chapters 8 and 9, you'll see all of the characters who haven't been introduced yet, and some characters from chapters 2 and 5. Chapter 8 is called Fight! and Chapter 9 is The Shape of Things to Come (yes, I stole a lost title again but it fits).
People seem to get distracted a lot, keeping them from their original goals, but it works out in the end for them, as it conveinently gets everyone involved. Also, I just read over chapter 8, I have to smooth it out real quick, but it shouldn't take long.
Chapter 9 is really good, it's probably my favorite of the season. I really like Jigglypuff's intro, hopefully you guys will think it's funny. Also, I like it because there are hopefully 2 holy crap moments, which is very important, and i know i've had very little of them previously. hopefully I'll have more of them, at least 1 a chapter, next season.
Season 2: The Capture.
Need I say more? Thats the title, if there was one, for season 2, and as it says, people will get captured. But by who? and why has Tabuu been completely silent so far?
I have shown little of the enemies in this season so far, but they will be most prominent in Season 3: The War, so you'll have to wait till then to see a lot of them.
Another thing I noticed, thinking of the story, is that everyone has, although they were attacked, the heroes have been relatively untouched so far, and thats like what happened in Tabuu's Revenge too. I hope I'm not too predictable.
That pretty much wraps it up, but please post every once in a while, otherwise as far as i know only snicket is reading it. its good to know you're writing it for someone, but if you could, leave small comments or criticisms if you have them.
If there is anything you'd like to see happen, or any suggestions, then just tell me, I'll see if I can work it in. Of course, it can't be something that changes the story completely, but ideas for characters and stuff is appreciated and welcomed.
Enjoy reading!

Chapter 8 --- Fight!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=2onSzVpYhx0&feature=related
The young boy reached into the pocket of his jeans, took out a yo-yo, and played with it as he walked down the street. He had not a care in the world, just on break, no school, not old enough for a job, but the only problem was that all of his friends were gone. They were all busy. He figured he would go and train soon, but he wanted to relax a bit, he had been doing quite a bit recently. So, as he reached the corner of the street, he saw that there was a boxing tournament today, and decided to go and see it. Since it was almost over, the tickets were cheaper and he bought some of the last ones. Then, he walked into the building.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“HERE WE ARE! IT’S THE SMASH WRESTLING FEDERATION FINALS! IN THE GOLD CORNER! TY MIKESON!” A strong boxer appeared at one end of the ring, looking more like a giant then a boxer. He was easily 7 feet tall, and his muscles were incredibly huge. Then, Eye of the Tiger began to play. “AND IN THE GREEN CORNER! THE UNDERDOG OF THE TOURNAMENT (again) IS LITTLE MAC!” Little Mac got into the ring, looking puny compared to the huge boxer.
“Let’s fight!” Little Mac said. But he didn’t know what fight he was getting into.
It was a fight alright.
A piece of the roof fell in the middle of the arena, and Ty Mikeson ran away, screaming. Everyone else looked up to see a spaceship fly away and an animal jump out into the arena.
“You’re the champion?” Wolf asked. Everyone gasped. “Bit small, but who can argue?”
“Who are you?” asked Little Mac.
“Wolf O’Donnel. And once I beat you, you’ll be…”
“You’ll never beat me!” The crowd, believing this to be another stunt like the SMF did regularly, just cheered. The only place people weren’t was where the crowd temporarily split to let someone through.
“Oh yeah?” Wolf asked, taking out his navy laser canon. It began to charge.
“Hey! No weapons in the arena!” Little Mac said, but Wolf had just fired the shot, and Little Mac barely had time to move out of the way. He didn’t. Technically. Ness had thrown his yo-yo at the back of Little Mac’s knees, making him fall to the ground. “Are you against me too?” he asked Ness. “I didn’t hear about this!” Little Mac got up, ready to fight. Ness, meanwhile, charged Wolf (he had put away the canon).
“You again?” Wolf said. “Well this is a pain. But I might as well beat you too.” He bared his teeth and slashed with his claws.
“No, Mac, he’s bad,” Ness replied. “Long story. Just know that he’s evil and we need to beat him. You gonna help?”
“I’ve got to fight for the championship!” Little Mac said.
“Ok, then fight him!” Ness said, sending a PK fire at Wolf, who reflected it back, and Ness healed.
“Fine then. Taste my blaster!” Wolf began shooting.
“PK Teleport!” Ness yelled, and began teleporting around the arena. Little Mac had so far done nothing.
Then, the front doors slammed open, and in walked another, large character, holding an orange laser gun. He jumped up into the arena, and stared to aim his gun.
“It’s a we! Wario!” said Wario, firing a shot between Little Mac and Ness. This time Little Mac dodged on his own, as did Ness.
"The fat guy?" Wolf asked. "OK, If you want in too, you can join me."
Then, Wolf took out the laser gun again. Wario proceeded to jump on the stage, and both enemies started to charge their guns. They both took aim at Little Mac, and shot. Little Mac didn’t know what do, and wasn’t going to move out of the way in time, so Ness ran over, pushed him out of the way, and was hit by the navy arrow. As Ness got up off the ground, everyone could tell that his eyes were now navy. But Ness had unwittingly pushed Little Mac into the way of Wario's arrow, so Little Mac now had orange eyes. Ness took out his yo-yo, ready to fight Little Mac. Wolf advanced too, but turned as he heard the doors slam open, again. Wolf was his by a bolt of light, and a white arrow was shot, hitting Ness in the forehead. Another arrow flew, and Wario yelled, "yeoowwww!!!! As his butt was bitten. Ness and Little Mac then returned to normal, and Ness shook his head. Realizing he was good again, he turned to see Wolf calling his Wolfen, and jumping in it. He turned to Wario, who farted out of the hole in the ceiling. As Wolf flew away, Pit and Micaiah walked into the ring, followed by Lucky.
“You alright?” Pit asked Ness.
“Yeah. Why are you here?” Ness asked.
“What’s going on here?” Micaiah asked. The crowd was still cheering, thinking they were getting their money’s worth.
“It’s like your arenas,” Pit explained. “And yeah, we better go.” The 3 left the building, and Little Mac stayed in the ring.
Pit and Ness finished their stories of what happened to each of them.
“Just as I thought,” Pit said. “All the enemies from last time have that new weapon. It can’t be that much of a coincidence. We should go find Mewtwo, he’ll know what to do.”
“Don’t we have to go and help your friend who crashed?” Micaiah asked. Pit was surprised at how well she was keeping up, for being new.
“Yeah. We’re going to head south first,” Pit said.
“Hey!” Little Mac came out of the arena. “What happened?” The 3 looked at each other. Ness and Pit weren’t sure if they should tell, but Micaiah went ahead and did anyway.
“Wow…that’s weird,” Little Mac replied, once the story was done. “You guys need help?”
“Well…I don’t see why not,” Pit said. “But you gotta be ready to fight.”
“You kidding?” I always am. So what do we do now?” Little Mac asked.
“We need to head south, help a friend,” Pit said.
“Can any of you drive?” Little Mac asked.
“Not old enough,” Ness replied.
“Never needed to,” Pit said, looking at his wings.
“What’s a ‘drive’?” Micaiah asked.
“Guess I will. I’ve got a car. Let’s go!” Little Mac said. Eye of the Tiger began to play again as they all walked towards the parking lot.
“Is that like your theme music or something?” Ness asked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nobody had much to say while they were driving. Everything had pretty much already been explained, and everyone was tired. Ness sat behind the drivers seat, petting Lucky for a while until the dog went over to Micaiah, Micaiah leaned her head on the partially opened window, and when Lucky came over, she opened it more. Lucky stuck out his head, enjoying the wind. In front of them, Pit was sticking his head out the window, also enjoying the wind. Little Mac drove, at one point stopping at a gas station.
“Well, you’re an odd bunch,” the attendant said. “Not as odd as some other guy that came by here earlier though. Had some sort of green tunic costume on. Said he was headed to some shooting competition a little ways south.” Ness and Pit looked at each other.
“We need to make a little pit stop.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
{Earlier that day}
Link walked up to the registration desk. “I’d like to sign up for the target test competition.”
“What level?” asked the man behind the desk.
“Expert.”
“You sure?”
“Yep.”
“There will be dangers from many worlds you must come to face.”
“Alright.”
“You’re not scared. Have you done something like this before?” Link smiled.
“Kinda.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“And the finals is about to begin!” said the announcer, somewhat unenthusiastically. “The competitors are in the maze, this is the expert level so the north section's walls are brick, and the south's are hedges. You all know the rules by now. The competitors must find targets in the maze, and attack them somehow, making its color change to their own. Every 5 minutes, I target of each person will break, and cannot be used in the count for anyone. The amount of time between this will get shorter…if you have 0 targets at the time of the elimination, you’re out. Targets can be stolen, and anything goes as to hurting competitors, we have paramedics nearby.”
Link listened to this as he waited for the starting horn to blare. On the internet and TVs, everyone saw a screen for each competitor, and one of a map of the maze, targets, and score. He heard as challengers blue, grey, pink, green (himself) were announced. He also remembered that others players were let into the maze later too, but they could not win, only hamper the other competitors.
“GO!” the horn sounded, and Link went after the targets, spread out through the maze.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Little Mac, Ness, Pit, Micaiah, and Lucky parked at the competition, and saw a huge screen of where everyone was in the map, and saw 3 familiar faces in the maze.
“What’s he doing here?” Pit asked, looking at Challenger Pink, who had just claimed another target. Dedede was walking around with his laser gun, looking for the other competitors.
“Isn’t there something against weapons?” Micaiah asked.
“Nope,” replied a man walking by. “By the way, we need some people to go in and mess with the competitors. You interested?”
“Yes,” said Ness and Pit. Everyone started to follow the man to the back entrance, but Pit then turned to Micaiah.
“You’re not going in there,” he said.
“Why not?” Micaiah asked, mad. “Please?” she said in her sweet voice.
Pit sighed, “Umm…look we need you to be out here to tell us where they are. And I don’t want you to get hurt. So please.”
“Ok…but how will you know the way out?” Micaiah asked. Pit handed her a walkie talkie, and showed her how to use it.
“Why don’t you send in Lucky,” Ness replied. “He could probably lead us back to you.
“Ok then, let’s go!” Little Mac said, and Eye of the Tiger started to play again.
"You need a new song," Ness commented.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Ness, Pit, Little Mac, and Lucky entered the maze, the announcer said.
"And now we have others entering the maze, to disrupt the compeditors. We will only show them on the mini map, not the
compeditors.
"Hello?" Miciah said into the walkie talkie.
"Yeah, we heard that," Pit said. "Where are the other guys?"
"Two are south of you, and Dedede is north," Micaiah replied.
"Alright, we'll go north, you go south," Pit told Ness, indicating Little Mac would stay with Pit. Lucky then began to bark, and ran south.
"Wait!" Ness ran after him.
"Let's go north then," Pit said, and they went the opposite way.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ness chased Lucky through the passageways, and finally caught up to him when he stopped, and barked at an enemy in the clearing. Ness looked into the clearing; circular, about 20 feet in diameter with two exiting paths opposite of each other, and saw a lone enemy, a goomba. Nees took out his yo-yo and silently circled it, seeing what it was going to do. Ness knew they were from Mario's world, but he didn't know f they had any special abilities.
When the goomba saw him, the goomba jumped up in the air and charged Ness, who quickly dodged. It took the goomba a little while to stop, and once it did it turned toward Ness again. But Lucky came from behind, jumped on it and squished it. Lucky barked happily and then started to run away.
Suddenly Ness head a loud noise, and headed to the path which Lucky just went through to investigate. It sounded like barking, but it was too loud to be Lucky. The noise stopped for a second, and then it sounded as if it was coming closer. Lucky ran past Ness and down the other pathway. Ness followed Lucky with his eyes, confused, and then turned to the other path to see he was standing face to face with a chain chomp. Ness didn't know what it was, or what its weaknesses were. He just knew that it was what had made the barking noises, and it was big, it had big teeth, and that was bad. For him. And so Ness took off running after Lucky down the other path, and the chain chomp followed.
After running for a minute, the path grew smaller width wise and eventually was too small for the chain chomp to follow. Ness found Lucky why where it was only about 3 feet wide. Lucky was barking, and after the Chain Chomp barked some more, turned and walked? away.
"Good. Some time to rest," Ness said, sitting down. He knew the chain chomp couldn't reach them, and wasn't used to all this running.
"Hey...where you going?" Ness asked Lucky, who had started to run. "Not again..." Ness followed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pit and Little Mac were walking up the north path for not very long when they heard a noise behind them, as if something was rolling towards them. They turned to see a Golem, curled up in a ball, charging at them. Without a word they took off in a run, Little Mac ahead of Pit. The Golem got closer and closer to them, until a fork appeared in the road. The path split left and right, and both heroes took separate directions. Little Mac ran to the right, and Pit barely dove out of the way to the left.
"You alright?" Little Mac asked over the sound of rocks crashing down. As if from nowhere, rocks fell on top of the Golem, and effectively blocked the two different paths.
"Yeah. Just keep going, we'll meet up later," Pit yelled back, and the two headed off in their separate directions.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Link rounded a corner, some time into the match, he finally met his first competitor, Challenger Grey.
“Greetings,” said ROB.
“I didn’t know you entered,” Link said.
“Yes, I thought it would be an exciting opportunity,” replied R.O.B.
“So…I guess we’re against each other then,” Link said after a short silence.
“Yes, it seems to be so,” ROB replied shortly. “I wish you luck.” Then both heard a dog barking. They turned to see a small dog, a golden lab, barking expectantly at them.
“Should we follow him?” Link asked.
“Did the show send him to trick us?” ROB asked. Then, a boy came barreling around the corner.
“Lucky! Hey, it’s you two!” Ness said, panting.
“Ness! What are you doing here?” Link asked. Ness proceeded to explain the whole story.
“Then we must take care of this problem quickly,” ROB said.
“Yeah. But should we avoid Dedede or attack him?” asked Link.
“Meta Knight crashed, we should go find him first,” Ness suggested. Then he got a call from Micaiah. “Looks like Pit and Little Mac are far away, we have to go find them first. Lucky…can you find Little Mac?” The dog just sat down and looked at him, panting with his happy little dog face. “How about Pit?” Lucky got up, wagged his tail, and started to run. “Let’s go.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Little Mac walked along the path, unsure of where he was supposed to go. He knew that it was good what he was doing, but he was really clueless. He had no idea what he was doing, because he had never experienced anything like this before. he got a small taste of it in brawl, but he wasn't part of the Emmissary, he only participated in some of the matches. And in those, he just did what he did best, fighting. But he was always open to new experiences, so here he was.
Suddenly Little Mac got the funny feeling (which is never actually funny) that someone was following him. And so he slowly turned around to see a metroid coming up behind him. Little Mac knew he could do nothing but run, because before he could get close enough to punch it, it would latch onto him. But as he turned to run, and blue/white beam of light, not unlike Samus' charge shot, went past him, and destroyed the metroid. Little mac looked around and saw his saviour, Challenger Blue. They stood for a minute looking at each other.
"Why aren't you attacking me?" Challenger Blue asked. Little Mac stayed silent awkwardly, not sure if he should tell Challenger Blue why he was really here. "Is something wrong?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You!” Pit yelled, and King Dedede turned to see him. “Don’t you even think of using the people you capture here to start your army!” Dedede looked back at him.
“I was just gonna use them to win this competition,” King Dedede replied. “But I like your idea better!”
“Aw, crap!” Pit yelled, and kicked the ground in frustration, which must have hurt, since he wears sandals.
But as he was about to attack, King Dedede was hit by what looked like Samus’ charge shot, except that it was more like a cylinder of light, instead of a ball. Dedede flew out of the maze, and Pit turned to see Little Mac and Challenger Blue walking towards him.
“Mind if I told someone else?” Little Mac asked, indicating Megaman. Pit took a large breath.
“Welcome to the team,” he said.
“Always glad to help,” Megaman replied.
But as they watched Dedede fly off into the distance, all of the groups saw the sky flash red.
Chapter 5 --- Failed Flight
www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fQrrJfEmCM
Fox and Falco stepped out of the portal, fresh from their adventure in Tabuu’s, and were going to go on patrol.
“So where should we go?” Fox asked.
“Wolf. We never knew what happened to him, he must be up to something,” Falco replied.
“Good point. But let me call in help first,” Fox then called someone, and told them to come there, to help hunt down Wolf. Fox and Falco waited around for some time, and finally, they heard the roar of an engine, and an Arwing landed, and out stepped Krystal.
“Same old thing? He wants to destroy us?” she asked.
“Not sure yet, that’s what we’re checking up on,” Fox replied. “You up for it?”
“Anytime,” she replied. The 3 then got into separate Arwings and flew over to Wolf’s floating base.
“So what are we gonna do?” Krystal asked. “Looks like Wolf hired some extra help; there are lots of Wolfens flying around.”
“Probably recruits in their testing period,” Falco replied. “I heard rumors he was seeing people about joining the team. I’d bet there’s a bunch of other henchmen crawling his base too.”
“Just wait for no Wolfens to be around, and we’ll dock like normal,” said Fox.
“Isn’t that a bit…rash? Just flying in there like we own the place?” Krystal asked.
“Nah, it shouldn’t be a problem,” Fox replied non-chalantly.
“But we better go in one at a time, so it isn’t too obvious,” Falco replied.
“Good idea, I’ll go now,” replied Krystal. She then flew towards the base, and landed the ship. She quickly got out, took out her staff, and ran down a small corridor near where she landed. Krystal did not meet any enemies as she crept down the hallway, making her way deeper into the base. Soon, though, she heard a voice, and looked in a room to see Wolf talking to himself:
Wolf O’Donnel,
I wanna join you team. I know you’ve been looking at new recruits recently, and figured I should make myself stand out. So here’s a present I hope you will enjoy. If you like it and would like to talk to me, I’ll be in the city district waiting. Enjoy.
Owttow, the Jackal
Wolf was holding what seemed to be some sort of gun, with a navy stripe on the side. Krystal went to turn around and go tell the others of what she just saw, but she saw a new recruit approaching, who was too engrossed in a paper to see her. But it would only be a matter of time before he looked up, and Krystal couldn’t run the other way because Wolf would be able to see her pass his room. So, taking out her staff, she quickly landed a few blows on the recruit, and he fell to the ground, knocked out.
“What’s that?” Wolf said aloud. Krystal stood absolutely still in the hallways, but was breathing heavily. She felt someone grab her mouth, and she struggled to turn and see who it was.
“Quiet or he’ll hear us,” Falco whispered in her ear.
“Well look who it is,” Wolf said, looking at the two. “Looks like I get to try out my new weapon right now.” He then took out the weapon, and Falco stared at it, wide-eyed.
“We gotta run,” Falco said, and led the way back to the Arwings as laser shots, that were navy in color, flew past them. Both made it back safely, and saw Fox getting out of his Arwing.
“Get back in, we’re leaving,” Falco said, hopping into his own. “He has the ray-gun again.” The 3 took off, just in time to let Wolf see them flying away. Some Wolfens then landed.
“Who were they?” one person asked.
“THE ENEMY YOU INCOMPETANT FOOLS! YOU’RE ALL FIRED!” Wolf yelled angrily. “NOW GO HUNT THEM DOWN WITH ME!” Some were confused by this, but 12 other recruits followed him after the Arwings.
The Arwings headed north, and by the time they reached the Island District, the Wolfens were in firing range. They seemed to be inexperienced though, and had poor aim at best.
“Ok, we can take them out easy,” Fox said. “Evasive move Delta!” He dived down in his Arwing, Krystal lifted up, and Falco put out a burst of speed. The recruits were trying to keep up with Falco while Fox and Krystal came back around and knocked 5 Wolfens down.
“East!” Fox called, and the Arwings began to head towards the east. But, Wolf was taking shots at Falco, and damaged his Arwing. Falco then plummeted down to an island and crashed.
“Should we see if he survived?” one recruit asked.
“No…I want Fox,” Wolf said, and the 8 remaining followed the still flying Arwings.
“What happened to Falco?” Krystal asked after some time, as he was nowhere to be seen.
“Probably was followed by some and thought of a different way to get rid of them. And you know he always prefers his own plans,” Fox replied. They continued on, and nothing interesting happened until a castle came into view. The Wolfens once again were within striking range.
“You know what to do,” Fox said, and he dove down towards the ground.
“What?” Krystal asked, looking for where he went. But she had slowed down to look for him, and therefore presented an easy target. Wolf shot her down, and she plummeted towards the castle. Fox headed south, but looked back and saw Krystal falling down.
“No!” Fox said, but he could not turn around, because the Wolfens were right behind him. So he continued to fly south, and when he saw the Wolfens were clumped together, he flew above them in one swift motion and dropped smart bombs over each one, destroying them in turn. But, one Wolfen was missing, so he dropped an extra one, which exploded in mid-air, and hit his own ship. Fox then fell to the ground.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Krystal got up, shook her head, and then looked at the sky. She saw no signs of what happened to Fox, but she hoped he would be ok. But for now, she just needed to get to safety. As she got up, she hit her head on a piece of metal jutting out from the wreckage. The last thing she remembered seeing were two people walking towards her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Krystal’s eyes fluttered opened and closed as she woke up. She was trying to see where she was, but could only see a blurry figure leaning over her.
“I think it’s waking up,” someone said. Krystal blinked her eyes a few more times, and then replied,
“I’m a she.”
“Oh. Well, uhh, do you mind us asking who you are?”
“You tell me first,” replied Krystal.
“Oh, right. I’m Zelda, and over there is Peach. We found you after your Arwing crashed…”
“How do you know what it was?”
“We know Fox and Falco.”
“Wait…I think they told me about you. I’m Krystal.”
“So what happened?”
“Well…” Krystal described seeing Wolf and the chase.
“Ok…but I thought that was Tabuu’s weapon?” Peach asked, coming into the room.
“I don’t know,” Zelda replied, “but Wolf is definitely doing something bad, so we better go and…”
“Princess Peach?” a toad came into the room, looking confused. “Theres…uhh…a visitor…I mean visitors...for you.” Then, two people walked into the room, at which Zelda stared at them, confused. Krystal had no idea who the two were, but assumed they were twins. Peach on the other hand, ran up to them.
“Mario! Doctor!” She hugged both of them, and then turned to see Zelda staring.
“Uhh…why are? Who is…?”
“Oh, yeah, they’re two different people. Long story,” Peach replied. “So what are you two doing here? Together?”
“Bowser’s planning on attacking the castle with a new weapon he got that looks like the one Tabuu used but he’s using it to add members to his own army and he wants to attack your castle so we came here to warn you,” they both said at the same time.
“That must have been the same thing Wolf had,” Peach said.
“Peach! Peach! Bowser has been spotted in the distance with his army!” Everyone followed the messenger toad out to the top of the castle, where everyone looked out from the balcony.
Peach, Zelda, Krystal(still bandaged), Mario, and Dr. Mario looked out to see Bowser leading his troops towards the castle. But everyone stopped and looked up when the sky flashed red.
Chapter 6 --- Welcome to the Jungle www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf0izGZHSm4&feature=related
“We need a boat,” Lucario said to a sailor at the dock. He was with Lucas, Popo, and Nana. They had set out from the icy mountains and made their way to Port Azulmar, to go and look for Mewtwo.
“What’d you interested in? Lots o’ space? Speed?” the sailor asked. Lucas, Nana and Popo were looking at all the rental boats docked there, arguing about which one they were going to get. Lucas was pointing at a sailboat and talking angrily at Popo, who was pointing to an Express Cruiser, while Nan was looking at a houseboat.
“We need speed, the fastest thing you have,” replied Lucario.
“You gonna be out for a long time?”
“Hopefully not.”
“Then this is the boat you’ll want.” The sailor showed a picture. “It’s probably best if you stop and refuel at other islands frequently, to refuel.”
“Alright. How much is it?”
“ehhh, 50 rupees.”
“Do you take this?” Lucario showed the sailor Pokémon money.
“Never seen anythin’ like that before, but then again I’ve never seen anything like you before. I’ve heard of it though, so that should be fine.”
“Let’s go everyone,” Lucario said, and led the others to a small skiff, with just enough room for all of them. Lucario sat in the stern, by the motor, Lucas at the bow to look out for anything ahead, and Popo and Nana sitting in the middle.
“So do you know where Mewtwo is supposed to be?” Lucas asked.
“No,” replied Lucario. “He only said he had to go to an island. But it’s probably far away, since he said no one lives there.”
The trip continued in silence, until Lucas caught sight of an island up ahead. Because they were running low on fuel, and needed something to each, they stopped at the island. Aside from the sandy beach, everything else in sight was a vast jungle with no signs of civilization, aside from a 6 pack of toilet paper, unopened.
“You think this is it?” Nana asked.
“Not sure, but maybe. It seems too close though,” replied Lucario. “Let me study the map. But I don’t think anyone lives here, so don’t go far from the beach, it could be dangerous.” Then, Lucario sat down in the sand and took out a map.
“Umm…Lucario…I kinda have to use the girls room,” Nana said.
“Ok, just…I don’t think there are any here so go a little into the jungle and you’ll have to use a tree. And take this,” Lucario replied, handing her a roll of toilet paper.
“This is so weird,” Nana said, walking away.
“Not for a Pokémon,” Lucario replied, not looking up. The others shared a look of discomfort and awkwardness before Nana left.
Lucas then began to walk towards the jungle (opposite the way Nana went).
“Where are you going?” Popo asked.
“To explore,” Lucas replied.
“But Lucario said…”
“We need to see if anyone is here, cause they could help us or this could be the island.”
“But what if you find bad people?”
“I’ll fight them.”
“You shouldn’t.”
“Then why are you following me?”
“I can do anything you can do.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Lucario?” Nana asked, coming back. “What happened to Lucas and Popo?”
“Not Popo and Lucas?” Lucario asked, not looking up. “And what do you mean?”
“It doesn’t matter either way,” Nana replied quickly. “But they’re not here.”
“What’re you talking about, they’re sitting right over there.” Lucario pointed to a spot on the beach further down, not looking up. But no one was there.
“No they’re not.”
“WHAT?!?” and in fact they were gone. “This is bad.” Lucario and Nana then set out to look in the jungle.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Falco got up out of the wreckage of his Arwing, and looked around. He appeared to be in some jungle, but at first couldn’t figure out why. Then he remembered.
As he neared the end of his maneuver, he ran out of boost, making his turn slower then it should have been. Wolf took this opportunity to knock him down. Before crashing, he saw that Fox and Krystal were headed west.
“Better get to them, hopefully Wolf didn’t make a fool of them yet,” Falco said to himself. He took out his blaster and began to walk through the jungle. He had not gotten far before hearing a rustling in the leaves, and so ducked down into the underbrush. The noises got louder, and then eventually softer. Falco was still lying down, deciding if he should follow the noise or go away from it when he heard someone whisper;
“What are hiding for?” Falco leapt up and aimed his blaster, but lowered it when he saw it was DK who had spoken.
“Did you hear the thing that went by?”
“You mean me? Yeah, I just swung by on vines and then looked back and noticed you. So what are you doing here?”
“…”
DK and Falco stood by the wreckage, staring.
“Wow.” DK replied to Falco’s story. “Looks like we better go and beat Wolf.” DK began to walk away.
“How? We can’t fly.” Falco looked back at the Arwing.
“Swim. Wait, can you?”
“Not that good!” replied Falco, waving his wings.
“Well, then…wait, what was that?” DK asked, hearing a repeated thumping noise.
“I dunno,” replied Falco. He took out his blaster and the two went to investigate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Falco and DK watched a red animal punching a tree over and over. Cracks started to appear in it, and eventually it fell, making a loud noise. The animal turned, and they could see it had spiked gloves, and shoes not unlike someone else they knew. The animal caught sight of them.
“Who are you? What are you doing here?” the creature asked. “Are you two after the emerald?
“What are you talking about?” Falco asked, aiming his blaster. “What are you doing here? What are you?”
“Why should I tell you?” the creature replied. “You’re probably after its power!”
“What’s power?”
“The emerald!”
“What emerald?!?”
“d’you know Sonic?” DK asked.
“Yes, why?” the creature replied.
“Cause we know him,” DK answered. “He helped us out a couple times, in the emissary, and just a little while ago again.”
“How do I know I can trust you?” the creature asked.
“You just gotta trust us,” DK said.
“Last time I did that I made a huge mistake.”
“Did he tell you anything about his adventures lately? The emissary?” Falco asked.
“…yes.”
“Well I’m DK, and this is Falco,” DK replied.
“How do you know we can trust him?” Falco asked.
“Trust,” replied DK. “So how about it? Could you help us get off this island?”
“…I guess is Sonic knows you. I’m Knuckles by the way. How’d you get here?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Wow. That’s damaged,” Knuckles said, looking at Falco’s crashed Arwing. “I know someone who’s good at fixing stuff like that though.”
“Really?” Falco asked. But before he could get any further, they heard two people emerge from the bushes behind them.
“Lucas. Popo. What’re you doing here?” DK asked.
“Wow. What happened?” Lucas and Popo asked at the same time. Each then told their stories.
“Well, we better get back to Lucario then,” said DK.
“So you guys have a boat?” Falco asked.
On the way back to the beach, they met Lucario and Nana. Everyone headed back to the beach, and rested.
“Kinda small boat, don’t you think?” Falco said, looking at the boat.
“Yes, and we’re almost out of gas. We figured people would be here who had some,” Lucario replied.
“So Tabuu is coming back?” DK asked.
“<sigh> I suppose its ok I told you now. But yes, he is,” Lucario replied. Then, the sky flashed red.
“That isn’t good,” Lucas, Falco, and Lucario all said.
Chapter 7 --- Travelers
I walked along a dusty path, unaware of the adventure on which I would soon embark. I saw two paths ahead of me; the right path would lead me home, the left to another world of which I was unfamiliar with. I had just come from my last case, successful of course, thinking of how it would be nice to have some rest. But I scolded myself for thinking this; I would never stop doing my job, even if it did grow tiring. Of course, being someone who is timeless, much like the acquaintances I would soon meet, I would continue this forever, unless I died. And so, with my ever present thirst for new adventures, I took the left path. I was headed through a land I had never seen before, but had heard that beings of another realm had plagued lands like this before. If the stories were true, it would be challenging in some respects, but with my two best allies by my side, I knew I would be able to solve any case. I never left home without them; I never even left them away from me in my home. And so during this walk I looked to my sides and made sure they were there. I had secretly hoped that I would be tasked with another job here. Little did I know I would soon become part of a huge case, which not even I could have solved alone. The people and other beings I met, and those I did not get to know as well, all played an important role in this story. But at the time, having no idea of the events that would proceed by my choosing this path, I walked along unaware that I would be a key figure in an epic adventure for the ages.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ike was sitting down at a table, and tapped his finger on the table. He was bored. Very, very bored. He had no idea what to do, and had nothing to do for fun. He had tried a game the soldiers called ‘chess’ but it was way too easy. It hadn’t been that long, but he was used to always being in the action of battle or life. Ike then heard a crash outside of Zelda’s summer castle, which he was supposed to be watching over, and so went outside to investigate. Followed by some of the castle guards, he headed towards the trail of smoke, seemingly emitting from the ground, to see that there were multiple ships that had crashed. In each a creature lied, but only one seemed familiar.
“Fox,” he said, helping the pilot out. “What happened?” Fox told the story of him crashing, adding at the end.
“I looked back, and saw that I was the only one left, and I had taken out all of the enemies. But one Wolfen was heading out towards the city. Then I crashed.” Fox looked at the Wolfens, and saw that Wolf had not crashed. Ike noticed this too.
“Does anyone else know about them?” Ike asked.
“Krystal and Falco did but…I don’t know if they’re...alright.”
“Ok. How about we head north to where Krystal crashed, she’s closest,” Ike began. “But are you sure we shouldn’t look for Wolf?”
“Yeah…that would be rash,” Fox looked down.
“Ok then. But on the way up, let’s stop in on some people who could help.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ike left a soldier in charge of the castle, and embarked on the journey with Fox. Most of the time neither talked. But Ike noticed a change in Fox. Fox walked more slowly then usual, and kept looking off in different directions, seemingly distracted.
“So…yup…uhhh…what’s up?” Ike asked at one point.
“Where are we going?” Fox replied.
“Here,” Ike said, and looked up at the castle.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Roy aimed at the cueball, struck it, and knocked in the 9 ball.
“Looks like 8 is the only one left,” he said. He and Luigi were playing pool in Roy’s castle.
“man, it feels great to kick back and relax,” Luigi commented. “No work, no danger, no brother…”
“What’d you say?” Roy hit the 8 ball but it didn’t go in a pocket, but stopped precariously close to one. Then, the castle shook, and the ball fell in.
“What was that?” Roy asked, looking around.
“I don’t know but it helped you win,” Luigi replied. A guard rushed into the room.
“A fox wearing clothes was just seen in the castle, and it seems as though we are under attack. We don’t know anything about the animal, but he may be dangerous, so…” Fox then entered the room.
“Fox!” Roy and Luigi yelled, glad to see him.
“…make sure to be on guard for him nevermind,” the soldier finished, deflated.
“Ganondorf is attacking, some of his army is out front, and Ike was trying to hold them off…”
“Then I guess we should help?” said Luigi, hoping he wouldn’t have to.
“Yeah, but I left my sword by the outhouse, I’ll have to use this one until it breaks,” Roy said, picking up a temporary sword.
“Wait? Weapons in your world break?” Fox asked.
“Most do,” Roy replied, as he led them back out.
“But then couldn’t it break in the middle of battle and you have no weapon?”
“Yep. But that’s a risk you sometimes have to take.”
“It shouldn’t be,” Fox replied.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ike seemed to be doing a good job holding off the enemies, and when the other heroes got there, the members of Ganondorf’s army had little chance. As they finished off the last one, Roy went to get his sword.
As Ike, Fox, and Luigi were discussing what happened, Luigi began to tremble and looked behind them.
“What’s wrong?” Ike asked. “Have to go to the bathroom?” Luigi shook his head, and continued to look at the skulltula creeping up behind them. Ike and Fox turned around, and saw this last enemy. Although they both reached for their weapons, it seemed as if neither would be able to act in time, and the spider was pouncing. Then, everyone heard 2 gunshots, and Ike and Fox moved out of the way as the spider flew forward, dead. But like it did in Twilight Princess, it moaned and curled its legs up, eventually disappearing in a puff of smoke.
“What just happened?” Ike asked. Neither Luigi nor Fox answered, since they were just as confused.
“I was just about to ask you the same thing,” said a man who walked up from behind him. He was wearing a red coat, had silver hair, and was putting away two guns.
“Who are you?” Ike asked.
“Dante, mercenary for hire, of the Devil Never Cry business. I specialize in paranormal cases. Which I would say we have here. What was that thing?”
Ike, Luigi and Fox (and Roy, when he returned) all told Dante of the events that happened in the Emissary and afterward.
“Hmm…so you say he’s been killed several times?” Dante asked.
“Yeah, no one knows how he comes back,” Roy replied.
“Typical,” muttered Dante, “So was that his whole army, what attacked you?”
“I doubt it,” Ike replied. “But we haven’t heard from him in a while.”
“I have,” said Sonic, suddenly standing behind them. “I passed him and his army on the way here.”
“What?!?” everyone said, except Dante.
“Can you go back and spy on him without him knowing you’re there?” Dante asked.
“Yep,” Sonic said, and he ran off into the distance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sonic gained speed, and was eventually running fast enough to be all but invisible. Then, he circled Ganondorf, while listening.
“Great King Ganondorf the Mighty, I, your loyal servent, regretfully bring terrible news, others you once knew, including the ignorant Bowser, have this extraordinary power that you have so recently acquired yourself, and they too, plan to build armies.”
“Well then,” Ganondorf said. “We shall attack the heroes here, and then set out to destroy them.”
“Very intelligent plan, when do we attack?” the minion asked, hastily adding, “sir?”
“Now.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sonic then returned to the heroes.
“Uhh…I have some bad news,” Sonic said. But before he could announce it, the sky flashed red.
“What was that?” Ike asked aloud.
“Usually the sky changes for only a moment when a link between two worlds is suddenly created or severed,” replied Dante.
Message from the Author
Hi anyone who is reading this, it's the week of thanksgiving, so I won't post a chapter (partially cause i need extra time to work on chapter 9) but instead i figured i'd write something short like this. First off thanks to anyone reading, I'm doing my best to write as much as possible, but school and life have been getting in the way. Even though there have been many complications (deletions) I think that rewriting it made the story better, hopefully you'll agree, and I'll try to prevent that later.
Hope you guys liked the chapters so far, again, comments are welcome, good or bad. I was gonna type more but i forgot for now, so if i remember i'll tell you what i was gonna say.
I kinda got the feeling that ch 3 was a little boring, since it was the love quadrangle thing, but it was somewhat necessary, and it will definately connect with others and what they are doing at this time. Bear with me, but this is something that will play out throughout the rest of the story, even though it won't be the focus as much as it was chapter 3
In chapters 8 and 9, you'll see all of the characters who haven't been introduced yet, and some characters from chapters 2 and 5. Chapter 8 is called Fight! and Chapter 9 is The Shape of Things to Come (yes, I stole a lost title again but it fits).
People seem to get distracted a lot, keeping them from their original goals, but it works out in the end for them, as it conveinently gets everyone involved. Also, I just read over chapter 8, I have to smooth it out real quick, but it shouldn't take long.
Chapter 9 is really good, it's probably my favorite of the season. I really like Jigglypuff's intro, hopefully you guys will think it's funny. Also, I like it because there are hopefully 2 holy crap moments, which is very important, and i know i've had very little of them previously. hopefully I'll have more of them, at least 1 a chapter, next season.
Season 2: The Capture.
Need I say more? Thats the title, if there was one, for season 2, and as it says, people will get captured. But by who? and why has Tabuu been completely silent so far?
I have shown little of the enemies in this season so far, but they will be most prominent in Season 3: The War, so you'll have to wait till then to see a lot of them.
Another thing I noticed, thinking of the story, is that everyone has, although they were attacked, the heroes have been relatively untouched so far, and thats like what happened in Tabuu's Revenge too. I hope I'm not too predictable.
That pretty much wraps it up, but please post every once in a while, otherwise as far as i know only snicket is reading it. its good to know you're writing it for someone, but if you could, leave small comments or criticisms if you have them.
If there is anything you'd like to see happen, or any suggestions, then just tell me, I'll see if I can work it in. Of course, it can't be something that changes the story completely, but ideas for characters and stuff is appreciated and welcomed.
Enjoy reading!
Chapter 8 --- Fight!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=2onSzVpYhx0&feature=related
The young boy reached into the pocket of his jeans, took out a yo-yo, and played with it as he walked down the street. He had not a care in the world, just on break, no school, not old enough for a job, but the only problem was that all of his friends were gone. They were all busy. He figured he would go and train soon, but he wanted to relax a bit, he had been doing quite a bit recently. So, as he reached the corner of the street, he saw that there was a boxing tournament today, and decided to go and see it. Since it was almost over, the tickets were cheaper and he bought some of the last ones. Then, he walked into the building.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“HERE WE ARE! IT’S THE SMASH WRESTLING FEDERATION FINALS! IN THE GOLD CORNER! TY MIKESON!” A strong boxer appeared at one end of the ring, looking more like a giant then a boxer. He was easily 7 feet tall, and his muscles were incredibly huge. Then, Eye of the Tiger began to play. “AND IN THE GREEN CORNER! THE UNDERDOG OF THE TOURNAMENT (again) IS LITTLE MAC!” Little Mac got into the ring, looking puny compared to the huge boxer.
“Let’s fight!” Little Mac said. But he didn’t know what fight he was getting into.
It was a fight alright.
A piece of the roof fell in the middle of the arena, and Ty Mikeson ran away, screaming. Everyone else looked up to see a spaceship fly away and an animal jump out into the arena.
“You’re the champion?” Wolf asked. Everyone gasped. “Bit small, but who can argue?”
“Who are you?” asked Little Mac.
“Wolf O’Donnel. And once I beat you, you’ll be…”
“You’ll never beat me!” The crowd, believing this to be another stunt like the SMF did regularly, just cheered. The only place people weren’t was where the crowd temporarily split to let someone through.
“Oh yeah?” Wolf asked, taking out his navy laser canon. It began to charge.
“Hey! No weapons in the arena!” Little Mac said, but Wolf had just fired the shot, and Little Mac barely had time to move out of the way. He didn’t. Technically. Ness had thrown his yo-yo at the back of Little Mac’s knees, making him fall to the ground. “Are you against me too?” he asked Ness. “I didn’t hear about this!” Little Mac got up, ready to fight. Ness, meanwhile, charged Wolf (he had put away the canon).
“You again?” Wolf said. “Well this is a pain. But I might as well beat you too.” He bared his teeth and slashed with his claws.
“No, Mac, he’s bad,” Ness replied. “Long story. Just know that he’s evil and we need to beat him. You gonna help?”
“I’ve got to fight for the championship!” Little Mac said.
“Ok, then fight him!” Ness said, sending a PK fire at Wolf, who reflected it back, and Ness healed.
“Fine then. Taste my blaster!” Wolf began shooting.
“PK Teleport!” Ness yelled, and began teleporting around the arena. Little Mac had so far done nothing.
Then, the front doors slammed open, and in walked another, large character, holding an orange laser gun. He jumped up into the arena, and stared to aim his gun.
“It’s a we! Wario!” said Wario, firing a shot between Little Mac and Ness. This time Little Mac dodged on his own, as did Ness.
"The fat guy?" Wolf asked. "OK, If you want in too, you can join me."
Then, Wolf took out the laser gun again. Wario proceeded to jump on the stage, and both enemies started to charge their guns. They both took aim at Little Mac, and shot. Little Mac didn’t know what do, and wasn’t going to move out of the way in time, so Ness ran over, pushed him out of the way, and was hit by the navy arrow. As Ness got up off the ground, everyone could tell that his eyes were now navy. But Ness had unwittingly pushed Little Mac into the way of Wario's arrow, so Little Mac now had orange eyes. Ness took out his yo-yo, ready to fight Little Mac. Wolf advanced too, but turned as he heard the doors slam open, again. Wolf was his by a bolt of light, and a white arrow was shot, hitting Ness in the forehead. Another arrow flew, and Wario yelled, "yeoowwww!!!! As his butt was bitten. Ness and Little Mac then returned to normal, and Ness shook his head. Realizing he was good again, he turned to see Wolf calling his Wolfen, and jumping in it. He turned to Wario, who farted out of the hole in the ceiling. As Wolf flew away, Pit and Micaiah walked into the ring, followed by Lucky.
“You alright?” Pit asked Ness.
“Yeah. Why are you here?” Ness asked.
“What’s going on here?” Micaiah asked. The crowd was still cheering, thinking they were getting their money’s worth.
“It’s like your arenas,” Pit explained. “And yeah, we better go.” The 3 left the building, and Little Mac stayed in the ring.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pit and Ness finished their stories of what happened to each of them.
“Just as I thought,” Pit said. “All the enemies from last time have that new weapon. It can’t be that much of a coincidence. We should go find Mewtwo, he’ll know what to do.”
“Don’t we have to go and help your friend who crashed?” Micaiah asked. Pit was surprised at how well she was keeping up, for being new.
“Yeah. We’re going to head south first,” Pit said.
“Hey!” Little Mac came out of the arena. “What happened?” The 3 looked at each other. Ness and Pit weren’t sure if they should tell, but Micaiah went ahead and did anyway.
“Wow…that’s weird,” Little Mac replied, once the story was done. “You guys need help?”
“Well…I don’t see why not,” Pit said. “But you gotta be ready to fight.”
“You kidding?” I always am. So what do we do now?” Little Mac asked.
“We need to head south, help a friend,” Pit said.
“Can any of you drive?” Little Mac asked.
“Not old enough,” Ness replied.
“Never needed to,” Pit said, looking at his wings.
“What’s a ‘drive’?” Micaiah asked.
“Guess I will. I’ve got a car. Let’s go!” Little Mac said. Eye of the Tiger began to play again as they all walked towards the parking lot.
“Is that like your theme music or something?” Ness asked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
{Earlier that day}
Link walked up to the registration desk. “I’d like to sign up for the target test competition.”
“What level?” asked the man behind the desk.
“Expert.”
“You sure?”
“Yep.”
“There will be dangers from many worlds you must come to face.”
“Alright.”
“You’re not scared. Have you done something like this before?” Link smiled.
“Kinda.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Little Mac, Ness, Pit, Micaiah, and Lucky parked at the competition, and saw a huge screen of where everyone was in the map, and saw 3 familiar faces in the maze.
“What’s he doing here?” Pit asked, looking at Challenger Pink, who had just claimed another target. Dedede was walking around with his laser gun, looking for the other competitors.
“Isn’t there something against weapons?” Micaiah asked.
“Nope,” replied a man walking by. “By the way, we need some people to go in and mess with the competitors. You interested?”
“Yes,” said Ness and Pit. Everyone started to follow the man to the back entrance, but Pit then turned to Micaiah.
“You’re not going in there,” he said.
“Why not?” Micaiah asked, mad. “Please?” she said in her sweet voice.
Pit sighed, “Umm…look we need you to be out here to tell us where they are. And I don’t want you to get hurt. So please.”
“Ok…but how will you know the way out?” Micaiah asked. Pit handed her a walkie talkie, and showed her how to use it.
“Why don’t you send in Lucky,” Ness replied. “He could probably lead us back to you.
“Ok then, let’s go!” Little Mac said, and Eye of the Tiger started to play again.
"You need a new song," Ness commented.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ness chased Lucky through the passageways, and finally caught up to him when he stopped, and barked at an enemy in the clearing. Ness looked into the clearing; circular, about 20 feet in diameter with two exiting paths opposite of each other, and saw a lone enemy, a goomba. Nees took out his yo-yo and silently circled it, seeing what it was going to do. Ness knew they were from Mario's world, but he didn't know f they had any special abilities.
When the goomba saw him, the goomba jumped up in the air and charged Ness, who quickly dodged. It took the goomba a little while to stop, and once it did it turned toward Ness again. But Lucky came from behind, jumped on it and squished it. Lucky barked happily and then started to run away.
Suddenly Ness head a loud noise, and headed to the path which Lucky just went through to investigate. It sounded like barking, but it was too loud to be Lucky. The noise stopped for a second, and then it sounded as if it was coming closer. Lucky ran past Ness and down the other pathway. Ness followed Lucky with his eyes, confused, and then turned to the other path to see he was standing face to face with a chain chomp. Ness didn't know what it was, or what its weaknesses were. He just knew that it was what had made the barking noises, and it was big, it had big teeth, and that was bad. For him. And so Ness took off running after Lucky down the other path, and the chain chomp followed.
After running for a minute, the path grew smaller width wise and eventually was too small for the chain chomp to follow. Ness found Lucky why where it was only about 3 feet wide. Lucky was barking, and after the Chain Chomp barked some more, turned and walked? away.
"Good. Some time to rest," Ness said, sitting down. He knew the chain chomp couldn't reach them, and wasn't used to all this running.
"Hey...where you going?" Ness asked Lucky, who had started to run. "Not again..." Ness followed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Link rounded a corner, some time into the match, he finally met his first competitor, Challenger Grey.
“Greetings,” said ROB.
“I didn’t know you entered,” Link said.
“Yes, I thought it would be an exciting opportunity,” replied R.O.B.
“So…I guess we’re against each other then,” Link said after a short silence.
“Yes, it seems to be so,” ROB replied shortly. “I wish you luck.” Then both heard a dog barking. They turned to see a small dog, a golden lab, barking expectantly at them.
“Should we follow him?” Link asked.
“Did the show send him to trick us?” ROB asked. Then, a boy came barreling around the corner.
“Lucky! Hey, it’s you two!” Ness said, panting.
“Ness! What are you doing here?” Link asked. Ness proceeded to explain the whole story.
“Then we must take care of this problem quickly,” ROB said.
“Yeah. But should we avoid Dedede or attack him?” asked Link.
“Meta Knight crashed, we should go find him first,” Ness suggested. Then he got a call from Micaiah. “Looks like Pit and Little Mac are far away, we have to go find them first. Lucky…can you find Little Mac?” The dog just sat down and looked at him, panting with his happy little dog face. “How about Pit?” Lucky got up, wagged his tail, and started to run. “Let’s go.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You!” Pit yelled, and King Dedede turned to see him. “Don’t you even think of using the people you capture here to start your army!” Dedede looked back at him.
“I was just gonna use them to win this competition,” King Dedede replied. “But I like your idea better!”
“Aw, crap!” Pit yelled, and kicked the ground in frustration, which must have hurt, since he wears sandals.
But as he was about to attack, King Dedede was hit by what looked like Samus’ charge shot, except that it was more like a cylinder of light, instead of a ball. Dedede flew out of the maze, and Pit turned to see Little Mac and Challenger Blue walking towards him.
“Mind if I told someone else?” Little Mac asked, indicating Megaman. Pit took a large breath.
“Welcome to the team,” he said.
“Always glad to help,” Megaman replied.
But as they watched Dedede fly off into the distance, all of the groups saw the sky flash red.
