Chapter 17: PK Feud
Deep in the cosmos of space, a second glowing orb was speeding towards a nearby planet. The planet was a vastly populated planet with forests, oceans, deserts, and large cities. The orb began to burn as it entered the atmosphere. The citizens of Onett looking into the sky as what they could only perceive as a meteor came crashing down towards the center of town. Cement and dirt were expelled into the air as the orb crashed to the ground leaving a large crater. Many of the citizens of Onett began to flee the sight, but a few brave souls peeked down into the crater to take a look at what had landed. They looked in amazement as a tall man in camouflage stood up and began waving the dust away. Screaming about returning aliens, the town square was cleared of all people within seconds. Solid Snake put on his infrared goggles to take a look at his current predicament. He knelt on one knee with his hand on his communicator.
Snake: “Otacon, Mei Ling, Colonel, this is Snake do you copy? I repeat, this is Snake, do you copy? Otacon? Mei Ling? Colonel? COLONEL!!!”
He swore into the air when his communication channel did not work. He was on a secret mission to destroy the Metal Gears on Shadow Moses Island, when a glowing orb appeared before him. All he had done is touch the orb, and next think he knew, he was in a crater in the middle of daylight. He climbed out of the crater and began to survey the area. It seemed familiar to him. Cars and buildings lined the street which lead him to believe that he was, in fact, still somewhere on earth, but why were the satellites not working? Had something happened to his companions? He began to walk around the now deserted town in a desperate attempt to find anyone with some answers, but with no avail. Just as he began to give up and leave the town, he heard a distance voice
Voice: “PK THUNDER!!!!!”
Suddenly a ball of electricity was flying towards Snake’s head. He jumped out of the way, but as he did, the ball turned around to follow him. Snake pulled out his missile launcher and shot a quick missile at the electric ball. He began to look around for the source of this attack but as he did, a pillar of fire burst in front of him. Snake quickly jumped backwards to avoid the flames. As he stood up, he noticed his attacker. It was a small black haired boy carrying a baseball bat. He was wearing shorts, a t-shirt, a backpack and a red cap. He had a look of anger and concentration on his face.
Snake: “What the hell? Hey midget, why are you attacking me?”
Ness; “The name’s not Midget…it’s Ness, as you should know well enough.”
Snake was confused by Ness’ statement. Had ne confused him with some evil force or individual.? Since Ness had spoke to him, Snake decided to continue the communication.
Snake: “I think you have mistaken me for someone else.”
Ness: “I’m not going to fall for your trickery. I don’t know if you are Gigyas or not, but from how you landed here, you are definitely one of his aliens.”
Snake: “Alien? Did I land somewhere in Nevada, or is this redneck territory?”
Ness: “Enough of this…you aliens have caused me enough trouble as it is….i must destroy you before HE shows up. Perhaps that’ll prove that I don’t need his help. I’m not a baby.”
Even more confused than before, Snake began to ask who “he” was, but Ness started his string of attacks once again. Snake pulled out a grenade as Ness ran towards him swinging his bat. Unfortunately, his bat made contact with the grenade which exploded in both their faces. Snake tossed another pair of grenades as Ness sent a PK Thunder to his stomach. Snake fired his missile launcher, but Ness blew it up with a PK Fire. Another PK fire was sent following the initial that caught snake by surprise. Realizing distancing was not an option; Snake began to run at Ness to engage in close combat. Snake landed a few solid punches and kicks before Ness hit him in the face with his yo-yo. The two slid apart from each other and began to stare the other down. They started to run towards each other once more, when a second voice rang through the air.
Voice 2: “PK FREEZE!!!”
A chilling wind surrounded the area as the air in front of them solidified into a sheet of ice which broke as it hit the pavement. Ness slammed his bat on the ground in anger while Snake turned around to face the new attacker. It was yet another small boy. This one also wore shorts, but had a striped shirt and styled hair. He was petting a bright red snake which slithered back into his pocket.
Snake: “Give me a break! Is this the land of the pygmies?”
Lucas: “It’s ok Ness, the big boy has shown up. You can go now and get back in your sand box with your dolls.”
Ness: “GRRR I knew you’d try to show up and take credit for this too, Mr. Perfect. This is MY territory, not yours.”
Lucas: “Well, with your track record, who can blame me for stepping in and actually taking care of business?”
Ness: “I don’t know how many times I’ve told you, we defeated Gigyas.”
Lucas: “OK, hold my hand little one, let’s walk through this together. If you had defeated him, then how come suddenly people and places started disappearing? It’s because you were supposed to have defeated him, but you didn’t. The time line was mending itself and everyone and everything was fading away into nothing. Luckily I had kept Porky’s Time machine; I attached it to Nowhere Island’s Power supply and transported what was left of the island back in time. This way I could take charge and repair the mistake you made.”
Ness: “What makes you so great?”
Lucas: “OH, let’s see here….perhaps because I defeated the entire pig army and Porky himself…who was yet ANOTHER who you let go and left me to deal with in the future.”
Snake was glad the attention was off of him. He quietly laid a land mine and began to sneak away. Ness and Lucas were still exchanging harsh words as Snake began to back towards an alley. Unfortunately, Snake had forgotten the red snake in Lucas’ pocket. The pet had seen Snake back away and began to squirm franticly. Lucas then began to look around for the stranger, but could not see him.
Lucas: “GREAT, now you’ve caused me to loose him, good thinking there, Ness.”
Ness: “Well if you hadn’t been flapping your jaw, then we could have gotten rid of him already.”
As they began to look around the area, Snake detonated the mine he had laid between the two children. The blast sent both Lucas and Ness flying into the air. Snake ran into the smoke grenades ready and tossed one at both Lucas and Ness….they exploded on contact. Ness was sent flying into a nearby Tree. Lucas however whipped out his snake who latched on to a nearby post causing the two to stop. Lucas ran towards snake with a barrage of PK Fire. Snake barely escaped them by sidestepping. Lucas however had a different game plan than Ness. He whipped out his snake once more and whipped him at Snake. The fangs of the bright red serpent sunk deep into Snake’s shoulder as Lucas began pummeling him with punches and PSI energy. With one final smash, Snake went flying into a nearby building. He looked up to see Ness swinging his bat madly and spastically. He didn’t care who he hit, as long as his bat made contact with one of the fighters. Fortunately for Snake, the bat hit Lucas in the forehead. Ness followed with a PK Fire after Lucas and a PK Thunder at Snake. Snake knew he had to end this now. He pulled out his grenade launcher and began to spam the air with explosives. Lucas began to panic as shrubs, pavement and bricks began to fly from the rapid fire of explosives. Ness attempted to stop these with his PSI energy, but with no success.
As Snake ran out of ammo, the two boys stared at him, Lucas clearly frightened . He began to slowly walk over to them and introduced himself.
Snake: “Are we done here yet? I have questions and you are gonna give me answers!”
Lucus: “I…um…”
Snake: “First off…what’s all this talk about aliens? I’m not an alien, and I don’t even believe in them. So why did you think I was?”
Ness: “Prove it!”
Snake took out his rocket launcher and pointed it as Ness’ face.
Snake: “If I was an alien I’m sure I’d be able to kill you in another way other than man-made explosives.”
Ness: “OK OK I get it!!
Lucas: “Well then how exactly did you get here?”
Snake explained to them about the orb on Shadow Moses Island, and that he had no clue what it was or why it was there. All he knew was that the orb sucked him in one second, and the next he was in a crater in this strange town.
Lucas: “Hmm…I wonder if this has anything to do with Gigyas.”
Ness: “You’re not gonna let this go are you? Ask Jeff, we KILLED gigyas and just teleported out of there.”
Lucas: “WOAH…you just teleported out of there after he died? Then why was the cave destroyed?”
Snake: “What on earth are you talking about?”
Lucas: “The cave where he ‘defeated’ Gigyas….he says he just teleported but when I investigated it, the cave was destroyed…there is only a very large crater.”
Ness: “I think we should go investigate that, maybe we can get to the bottom of this and you’ll realize that if Gigyas is still alive, it wasn’t my fault. We vaporized him.”
Lucas: “Perhaps I was wrong, Ness. You game Snake? We’ll go to the cave and see if we can’t get to the bottom of some of this. If we do find anything out, I may just have to apologize to ya Ness.”
Ness used his PK Teleport to open a portal to the cave. Snake, Lucas and Ness entered the rip in space and ran forward as it closed behind them.

Zankor, having left and destroyed the temple he created above Hyrule, was speeding through space in fury. Why had the sword not given its full power? He was its master. He had to clear his mind and re-group about this sword. Perhaps he hadn’t gained enough power. Perhaps there wasn’t enough fear. Yes…that must be it! He needed to spread more fear throughout this galaxy. Then the sword will wield itself to him. He stopped in the middle of the galaxy and pulled the sword out of its hilt. He examined the blade with anger. He called upon the power of the sword once more, but it remained motionless. Getting even more irate at the blade, he held it out in front of him and shot a blast of energy from the end of the sword. The blast shot quickly away from him, but within seconds a return fire was sent his way.
Zankor shouldered the laser fire and turned to look at its source. Flying his way at top speed was four aircraft blasting lasers and bombs. Zankor deflected the lasers with the sword and stopped the bombs by engulfing himself in flame. Finally when they closed in, the ships came to a halt and a voice rang out over the speakers.
Leon: “What the heck kind of freak are you?”
Panther: “Hold your tongue Leon, we’ll let Wolf handle this one.”
Wolf: “Well Well, what do we have here? A powerful overgrown iguana. I would have just blown you up, but I wanted to take a look at this thing.”
Zankor: “Thing??? You obviously have no clue what I’m capable of.”
Wolf: “I don’t care what you’re capable of doing. NOONE shoots at Team Star Wolf.”
Zankor: “Do you not fear me?”
Wolf: “I don’t fear anything, not even you. I’m a warrior. A warrior only truly lives on the battlefield.”
Zankor: “A warrior eh? Determination, headstrong…you would be the perfect asset.”
Pigma: “What the heck is he talking about?”
Zankor: “I have employed several individuals across this galaxy to aid in spreading pain and panic before all of it is destroyed. I would like to offer a place in my crew for you and your men. Just do what I say, and you shall receive power beyond all imaging”
Wolf: “What’s the catch?”
Zankor: “No catch….the more fear you spread…the more powerful I become.”
Wolf: “Well…I’m game. Perhaps I can do Star Fox in this time.”
Zankor nodded his head. When he raised his head back, his eyes glowed a deep red. Wolf began to show signs of pain but refused to scream, once Zankor had granted Wolf his powers he smiled once more. This wolf was strong and willing. Perhaps he could be a better asset than Geno was originally. Perhaps he could spread more fear and the sword would finally accept him. Wolf tested his power by blasting a nearby asteroid from the palm of his hand. Pleased with his work Zankor bid his new minion farewell.
Leon: “Wolf…that’s not like you to just accept something like that.”
Panther; “Yes, is there something wrong with you?”
Wolf: “I had a bad feeling about him. I figure since he was so willing to accept me I would get as close to him as possible. But no matter….I want to test my new powers on that blasted Fox.”

Geno was flying through the stars. He had an appointment to meet back on the Mushroom Kingdom. His own personal minion was waiting for him. He could sense it. As he flew through the stars, he met his master who was in a strangely pleasant mood.
Geno: “Master, it is good to see you happy once again.”
Zankor: “Yes, I have just emforced more minions to help gain my power. Do you have anything to report?”
Geno: “Well, all I can say is that we have a new ally in the Land of Fire. I gave him powers as you gave them to me. Ridley has also been busy. I felt his energy near Icicle Mountain, but I found the frozen wasteland to be covered in lava. Very peculiar.
Zankor: “You mean…..you all have....hmmm.”
Geno: “Is there a problem master?”
Zankor: “No, it’s nothing, just a small concern.”
Geno explained that he was needed back on Mushroom Kingdom with a minion of his own. Zankor dismissed him but floated in thought. Geno could give powers, Ridley could control fire. How was that possible? He didn’t give them those powers…he couldn’t have, could he?
