CHAPTER 2: THE NEW KID IN TOWN
-----------------------------------------------------
The following day was just like any other day: Do whatever. Ness had no school since it was July so he decided to go for a walk. While walking past the burger shop, he saw a group of kids picking on someone. The kid had red spiky hair, a black shirt, black pants, and a red open shirt over his black one. He also had red sneakers.
“I said PISS OFF!” he said, enraged.
“Oooh, the kid’s gonna cry! Pahaha! You make me laugh!” Said on of the bullies.
“I’ve had enough of your bull. Get out of my way right now or face the consequences,” said the red haired boy.
“Big words coming from a small—“
BAM!
The red haired boy hit the one kid in the gut. He fell over holding his stomach and crawled away, moaning.
“Pathetic,” said the red hair child.
“Wow... I’ve never seen someone that angry before,” Ness said. The red haired boy turned and looked at him.
“What are you looking at?!”
Ness walked up to the boy.
“I don’t think I’ve seen you around before. You must be new,” said Ness.
“Congratulations,” said the red haired boy, clapping slowly. “You just pointed out the obvious. Want a cookie?”
“Whoa, dude, what’s your deal?”
”None of your business. Now get out of my way before I hurt you too.”
And with that, he stormed off.
The following day, while Ness was taking another walk, he ran into the red haired boy.
“Hey wat—oh, it’s you. Look, sorry about yesterday. I’ve been in a bad mood since I moved here with no parents.”
“Ah, that’s okay,” Ness replied. “It’s never easy moving to a—wait, WHAT?”
Did ness hear that right? The new kid had no parents?
”Look, I’d rather not talk about it, okay? I’ve got enough going on right now.”
“Oh, alright then,” Ness said. “And by the way, what’s your name?”
“My name is Giy... Uh... My name is.... Giddy.”
“Erm... okaaay... “ Ness said, puzzled. “Hey Giddy... this may be a strange question, but... would you like to join me and my friends tonight? We’re going camping in the woods.”
Giddy thought about it for a few moments, then said, “Sure. I’d like that.”
“Great!” Ness exclaimed. “Come by my house at around 5:30.”
“Okay... Uh, where do you live?”
”I live in the upper area. Yellow house with a blue roof. You can’t miss it.”
“Alright, I’ll be there.”
”See ya, Giddy!”
And with that, the two went their separate ways and headed home.
Giddy showed up at Ness’ house at 5:45 with his things, and they headed out and met Jeff near the arcade.
“Bad news, Ness,” Jeff began. “The forest is inhabited by violent creatures, so we can’t get in, and who the fork is this kid?” He asked, referring to Giddy.
“I’m Giddy,” he replied. “I just moved here.”
“Oh, okay,” Jeff said. “But yeah, the forest is off limits for now. It’s even guarded by the police.”
”Oh man, the cops again?”
“It’s for good reason, Ness. They don’t want people getting hurt.”
“Well, we could always stay at my house. That might be interesting,” Ness said.
”That’s... not a bad idea, actually,” Jeff said.
So Ness, Giddy, and Jeff all headed over to Ness’ house for the night.
