Rapture was once a beautiful underwater city. Peaceful, accepting, it represented how far human ingenuity had gotten. Biotechnology was far superior than it should have been at the time, for something called “Plasmids” could be attained. These Plasmids gave one abilities far outreaching than any training could give. Fire, electricity, even insects could be controlled using these “Plasmids”. These abilities ran on something called “ADAM”. ADAM was the lifeblood of Rapture, and ADAM was used to operate Plasmids. Plasmids were supposed to help keep the peace in Rapture by making everyone equal. However, somewhere along the line, addiction and corruption fell into the serene region of Rapture. Civilians, after abusing ADAM, underwent horrible mutations. After this, insanity, rot, war, and death spewed into the supposedly “different” underwater city. What was once a serene, beautiful city was now a rotten hellhole with nothing but violence over the little remaining ADAM.
One person in a white robe walked the leaking walls of Rapture. He moved so a small stream of water from a glass window didn’t touch him. You could tell from the very air around him that this man wasn’t in a good mood. Will that be enough to survive the new Rapture? Suddenly, a scream echoed through the hall. The malevolent being turned calmly to the direction the scream came from. A Splicer, a mutated human, jumped out from the darkness and attacked him. He merely reached out with his hand and grabbed the creature’s face. Then he spoke.
“You have five more seconds to live, any last words?”
The creature only responded with a distorted scream, attempted to kill him with its biological weapon. As the bladed arms constantly yet uselessly beat at his chest, the white-robed man’s hand squeezed, and the creature screamed no more. A few drops of blood ran down one strand of the man’s icy blue hair. More screams echoed through Rapture, and excitement coursed through his veins. Looks like he’ll get quite an anger outlet.

It had been a freak accident when Viola's plane had collided with a small commuter plane just outside of her home on the coast of ------. Surviving by the grace of a higher power she drifted throughout the waters of a large ocean before washing up onto the steps of an odd looking building. The stairs were made of solid marble and led up to a large door. Dazed and extremely confused, Viola proceeded up into the building, hoping that she maybe able to contact the authorities or send a distress signal. Surely a secluded place such as this would have something just in case.
Viola opened the large marble doors and slipped into the dark. Much to her surprise there were no stairs leading up, but rather steps that led down to a spherical contraption floating on water. What was this place? Where was she at? In her situation however, her reason did not see the harm in venturing further into the establishment, even if it meant getting inside of this weird ship of sorts.
Maybe they have some sort of communications device in here, or maybe this is a ship that I can pilot home, she thought. Anything seemed reasonable. Inside of the ship Viola noticed an intercom and pushed the button to try and sync up with someone. "Hello? Is there anyone here? I've just been in a terrible accident and I need help." When nothing answered she let out a pained, "SOS?" while tears streamed down her face like gutters in a monsoon. Never before had she endured such madness, and now what had supposed to be a solution to her problem was nothing more than a hunk of metal. Fortune is laughing at me.
She backed up against the wall of the ship and let out a couple of sobs. Then, she was interrupted when she noticed the doors beginning to shut and scrambled to get out. Powerless against the automated doors, Viola screamed and beat on it until her hands began to bleed. "Help! HELP!" But no one answered. Unaware that she had triggered a button on the side of the ship, Viola peered out of the glass windows to see the ship sinking deep into the ocean, on a course for some unknown destination. Oh God oh God oh God, she thought as large buildings came into view underwater and large creatures swam by without so much as a glance her way. Fear and fright were overshadowed by wonder as the wondrous structures came closer and closer, finally engulfing the ship as it went inside.
An opening similar to the one at the entrance appeared and the small sphere-like ship popped inside of an air bubble and then into the structure. The door swung open and the pressure inside startled Viola's breathing rhythm and hearing, but after a while she became used to the atmosphere. She thought it unusual that even with the present events, she was in a curious mood free from all the turmoil of life on the outside. An underwater utopia awaited for her exploration.
"Let's see..."

The white robed man continued through the decrepit halls, leaving scores of bodies in his wake. He ignored the little girl that ran from body to body, taking a syringe to each one. All he was doing was giving her more and more work. But, she enjoyed it, and that was starting to get on his nerves. He turned to her, and the Little Sister stopped. A big, clunking creature seemingly made from a scuba suit turned around the corner. A drill situated on its arm started spinning, and the Big Daddy charged. One again, the guy simply used his hand to stop it. Even with a drill spinning, his skin did not break, tear, or rip. Slowly the drill stopped its rotations. Once it did, he lifted the giant and threw him across the room and into a large pool of water. He then attacked it, shooting several cylinders of energy at it. As the water exploded around it, the Little Sister continually begged him to stop. Once he did however, the Big Daddy was motionless.
“Mr. Bubbles, no!” She said, running to its body. The victor walked over to her. She recoiled in fear, still calling out to her fallen protector. The water turned a bright red.

Stepping out of the pod Viola was met with an astounding site. The atrium before her was made of glass and she could see the various sea creatures swimming around the tall buildings of this underwater metropolis. Further inside she walked, wading through about a foot of water, but she didn't mind. The room was also dark, with scarcely a light in sight save for those meant to illuminate the walkway. Everything hit her with such a blow that she just had to explore, she had to see for herself just what this place was.
She called out, "Hello? Is anybody here?" Her voice reverberated off the walls and echoed for about 5 iterations. A splash sounded behind her and she spun around, thinking that maybe a person had heard her call. Seeing nothing, she became frightened. There was a noise just now, she had heard it! The thrill of the moment had not yet clouded her mind so that she was acting delusional, so there must be someone else in the room with her. At last she gazed upward and saw a human-like figure clinging to the ceiling, as if waiting for her to move. Viola gasped and stumbled into the water, soaking herself in the cold liquid up to her breast. What could that be? She wanted to know but not at the conceivable expense of her life, so she did the only thing worth doing: she ran.
The characteristic sound of dunking sounded through the open space as Viola clumsily made her sopping figure towards the nearest opening where stairs led up to a dry hallway. She could hear the person following her, the water resounding each time it stepped. Sloshing through the hall as quickly as she was able, Viola heard a hiss and immediately quickened the pace, fearing that her life may be at an end soon.
Around a bend she nearly rammed into it, a bulky creature with a gigantic drill and a little girl following suit. Never before had Viola's eyes opened so wide, and she fell backwards suddenly, hurting her rump. Whatever it was didn't seem hostile at first, but suddenly it seemed that the holes in its mask took on a red hue and an unearthly noise bellowed from it's "mouth" of sorts. Oh God this is it, I'm done for, Viola thought as this thing began to charge. However it was not towards her that it charged, but at the stalker who was following her. A sigh of relief escaped her mouth as she saw the thing attack and kill the creature, but she had forgotten about the little girl who had now closed the distance and asked a simple question.
"Do you have any ADAM lady?"
Viola didn't know how to respond to a little girl with an enormous syringe, so she stuttered and tried to find the right words to answer the confusing question, all the while trying to crawl backwards and away from the child. Then, a roar brought Viola's eyes to the giant beast down the hall, who was now staring at her with a red face.
It then began to charge...

Nekura continued to walk the accursed, blood-soaked halls of Rapture. His footsteps’ sound bounced from wall to wall, always coming back to him. Music suddenly began playing to the right of him. It had something like a circus ring to it. Curiosity getting the better of him, Nekura looked. “Plasmid shop?” Nekura read the shop list, but couldn’t understand it. It appeared to some sort of upgrade for humans, and he could tell what they did. But, he didn’t care. Yet another scream echoed, and another distorted creature came from the walls, glaring at what it thought was its newest prey. It walked closer and closer, instead of charging. Nekura kicked the musical shop and it flew right into the twisted organism. It impacted on the adjacent wall, smashing it to literal pieces. The music skipped and faded. Nekura then left.
Walking, walking, all Nekura was doing was walking. Walking left, walking right, he was quickly growing sick of it. Something must happen or he’ll go insane! Surprisingly, something did happen. The ground below Nekura disappeared and he fell down a level. Then, another of the scuba-suited monsters attacked him. However, he only heard it. What he did see was a girl, but the not one these things usually were paired with. Instead, she seemed more like an outsider, like himself. He felt the hulk’s drill impact on his back. It spun and spun, tearing Nekura’s outfit to shreds. Thousands of tiny cloth pieces flew, yet none of them had a drop of blood. As the behemoth drilled and drilled, more and more of Nekura’s rather muscular chest became visible. After his entire upper body clothing was shredded, he spun around and gave his pitiful ambusher an uppercut. It flew up and away, landing a small distance away. Red sparks flew over his hand, not even seconds later turning into a red sphere. He punched the air and it flew out, making contact with the downed metal being. Then, his throat was at the little girl’s throat, slamming her against the wall. The girls eyes widened in fear as he squeezed. In a desperate attempt for freedom, she jabbed her syringe into her superior. However, it was no more effective than her protector’s drill. It broke on contact, ensuring her demise. Her already dark lips grew darker as she gasped for breath. Nekura let her slide down the wall once she stopped moving.

Stupefied at the lone creature that walked down the hall, Viola's eyes widened and her first instinct was to run. Before she had a chance she saw the metal behemoth attack the man and shred his clothes to bits, leaving behind a muscular physique that seemed unearthly. Maybe he's here to save me, she thought to herself as slight red tinge filled her cheeks. She got her hopes though, because she found it quite disturbing that immediately after killing the beast with the enormous drill that he killed the little girl who followed it, a child much younger than she! Was this man really here to save her or maybe help her in a way? Confused, Viola didn't know what to do and just eased back slowly towards a wall, hoping that the man before her would not harm her. She begged, she pleaded with all her being that she meant no harm and that she didn't know where she was.
"I don't know where I am please don't kill me, please! I won't tell anyone about your powers just don't kill me," she choked out through snot and tears as the fear took her, consuming and blinding her from what lied ahead. That man had survived the beast's drill without a scratch! How was she to survive if this thing decided she was an enemy? Her tears were so abundant that she could no longer tell if the man was closing in or not, so she just closed her eyes and desperately backed away, pushing herself with her feet but going nowhere...

Nekura stopped to savor his most recent victory, but then stopped midway. This was no victory; a victory is when someone triumphs over the other through a great battle, and this was no battle. One-sided, rigged, unfair, it was just empty fighting. It took him a few moments to realize that a young woman was yelling. He turned to her and noticed something odd. Her face should have been as pale as his clothing, yet it had a reddish tinge to it. After a few seconds of thought, he figured out why. At that, he debated whether or not to use it. He slowly walked towards her, weighing the pros and cons as he did. He made his decision before he even finished walking. He placed his hand over her head and leaned in until their noses were no more than two inches apart. Then, he spoke. “Are you-“ A screech echoed through the hall they were in, which was answered by several more screeches. A band of five Splicers jumped out from several holes and glared at the pair. Nekura pointed his hand in their direction. He took a few steps forward; to make sure he wouldn’t hurt Viola, and then began charging. His hand started to glow an icy blue color. The glow, over seconds, grew to a light. Then, he fired a massive blue beam. It rushed down the hall and slammed into all the Splicers, killing them. Then, he turned back to Viola with a worried look. He finished his question, this time uninterrupted.
“Are you OK?”

Closer and closer the man approached, all the while Viola gasped through sobs of fright and dilemma, wondering what this menacing thing would do to her. When he reached a perfectly audible distance from her Viola thought he would stop, but he kept coming and was eventually up at her nose, staring into her eyes and melting her soul. Eyes darted back and forth, examining features on his face before returning to his eyes, otherworldly and enticing as they were.
What...What on earth...?
She braced for the worst, shutting her eyes and bringing her knees to her chest. He must be toying with me she thought, trying to see what she might do when cornered, but she couldn't know for sure. His breath was hot against her face as his lips parted to utter , "Are you--"
Blood curdling screeches came from down the hallway and gave Viola a fright, causing her to flinch. She dare not look sideways, away from the towering figure above her for fear of what he might do; he may seize the opportunity and assault her--that's it he must be in league with these guys! It's all been a ruse to get closer to me! Such rampant thoughts ran through her mind faster than light through a vacuum, and in reality she didn't know what to do or think. All that mattered was surviving until she could find help.
The man rose and walked towards the creatures, stretching forth his hand and summoning some sort of magic. Viola's head turned mechanically to follow him, and when the glow appeared on his hand her eyes widened beyond what she thought possible, not noticing her gradual motion away from him. Suddenly her hair tossed about and shreds of paper began to fly wildly in the corridor as the man's hand steadily grew brighter and brighter with power. Finally he released it with a shockwave, a sudden burst that beckoned a scream out of Viola, a ringing tone to her ears, and smoke in her eyes as it struck. When the smoke settled there was nothing left except burnt fragments of the walls and floor, the creatures that made the sound were no more as far as she could tell. In essence he saved her, but his intentions were still a mystery.
Fleeting thoughts of running jumped around in her mind before being caught off guard by the man again in her face. That same trembling feeling of surprise and fright returned as she stared again into the eyes of her soon-to-be murderer, or so she thought until he spoke...
"Are you OK?"
Her heart fell, adrenaline quickly dispelled, her eyes rolled back, and she was out cold.

Nekura watched as the female’s body slumped to the ground like a puppet abandoned by its puppeteer. “I guess you’re not,” he said with a large sigh. Nekura began to rethink following through with his ruse. He almost couldn’t bear the thought of walking around with a weakling that couldn’t even stand the sight of his Cero. Yet, when he activated his Pesquisa, he could tell she was powerful or at least more powerful than everything else in this nightmarish hell. Still, leading her on would prove much more fun than flicking away never-ending enemies. So he picked her motionless body and carried her away from the other screams now echoing through the hall.
